Obituary Preview: Thomas Gordon Riley Sr., 89, of North Charleroi, passed away peacefully on May 1st, 2024 at home with his family by his side. Born in Charleroi on August 4th, 1934, Tom was the son of the late Thomas T. and Ruth (Fox) Riley.
Tom’s dedication to maintaining the Charleroi Cougar Stadium (downtown) and his many years at Bell Telephone was unmatched. A loyal season ticket holder of the Pittsburgh Steelers, he was an avid sports fan who enjoyed every moment spent at games. He found joy in golfing with friends from Bell Telephone and cherished his time with family and friends.
Surviving to cherish Tom’s memory; his wife of over 60 years Shirley (Koons) Riley, of North Charleroi. His two sons: Thomas (Carrie) Riley Jr., of Charleroi and Gary (Kristin) Riley, of Speers. His six grandchildren; Gunnar (Madeline) Riley, Morgan Riley, Tanner Riley, Kaitlyn Riley Keaton Riley and Brady Riley.
In addition to his parents, Tom is preceded in death by his brother Gary E. Riley.

Obituary Preview: Pete Mihealsick, 93, of Dunlevy, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on April 29, 2024. Pete was born on July 9, 1930 to the late John and Helen (Balog) Mihealsick.
Catholic by faith; Pete was a member of the Saint Andrew the Apostle Church – Charleroi Site and a member of the Knights of Columbus. Following high school, Pete served honorably in the United States Army as a National Guard and was a member of the Roscoe American Legion Post 801. Pete worked for Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel in Allenport as a Head Roller on #3 Hot Mill, and he and his wife were a Coordinator for Asher Phylum at St. Andrew the Apostle Church. Pete was also the president of Parent Teacher Guide (PTG). Pete was always staying busy, whether it was gardening, hunting, his woodwork and restoration projects, canning and making wine was a few of many hobbies Pete enjoyed. He was also very active in his sons sporting events when they were younger and he was a talented musician who could play any instrument by ear, especially his guitar. Pete was a kind soul who had this love for life and for everyone. Above all, Pete cherished his time with friends and family of whom he loved the most and will miss him dearly.
Surviving to cherish Pete’s memory; his brother Charles Mihealsick, his sons Patrick (Bonnie) Mihealsick, Paul Mihealsick, and Leonard (Alyson) Mihealsick. His daughters Kathleen (Frank) Cherup and Cheryl (Steve) Neff. His grandchildren Briana (Jeff) Arrowood, Michael (Jenn Tatti) Mihealsick, Sarah Mihealsick, Dr. Ryan Mihealsick, Erin (Zachary Bernstein) Mihealsick, Kevin Mihealsick, Oliver (Kristen) Mihealsick, Christy (Mat) Allyn, Alexis (Dr. Cody Kuhel) Cherup, Frank Cherup, Zachary (Lauren McQueen) Cherup and Nicholas Cherup. Pete’s great-grandchildren Jackson Arrowood, Mary-Grace Arrowood, Margret Arrowood and Eloise Arrowood and numerous nieces and nephews.

Obituary Preview: Thomas “T-Bone” A. Savage, 76, of Roscoe, passed away peacefully at home with his loving family by his side on April 20th, 2024. Tom was born on September 27th, 1947, to the late John Thomas and Gizella E. (Demeter) Savage.
Being the oldest of twelve children, Tom was always a kind and generous soul. No matter the need, Tom always opened his heart to anyone in need.
Tom’s Catholic upbringing centered his life on service of God, family, and friends. Lifelong member of the K.O.C having joined in 1967, Past Grand Knight District Deputy 4th Degree and always looked forward to the yearly Saint Vincent retreat.
Tom was a member of the 10th Street AC, Allenport Rod and Gun Club, and the Roscoe American Legion. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, rooting for the Steelers and spending time with his friends and family.
Surviving to cherish Tom’s memory; his sisters; Donna Kuch, Mary Ann (George) Lutz, Chris (Glenn) Crawford, Theresa Evans, and Rose (Greg) Livingstone. His brothers: Joseph (Reva) Savage, Victor (Donna) Savage, Michael (Samantha) Savage, and Jim (Tammy) Savage and numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.
In addition to his parents, Tom is preceded in death by his brother David Frances Savage, sister Regina Coeli Savage, nieces Anna Lutz, Coeli Regina Savage, his sister-in-law DeAnna Savage and his close friends Kenny Scott and Harry Jones.
Friends and family will be received on Tuesday, April 23rd, 2024, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00pm in the Hogan-Melenyzer Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 226 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi. The Knights of Columbus will conduct an honorary Rosary Service which will be held inside the funeral home on Tuesday beginning at 7:30pm. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, April 24th, 2024, at 11:00a.m. in St. Andrew the Apostle Church, Charleroi site, 624 Washington Avenue, Charleroi, Pa. 15022. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Obituary Preview: Mary Lou DiPiazza, 78, of Charleroi, peacefully went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 15, 2024 surrounded by her beloved husband and children. Mary Lou was born on April 1, 1946 to the late George and Lena (Bondi) Zurivich.
Throughout her life, Mary Lou was a member of Saint Andrew the Apostle Parish Church – Charleroi Site and was a member of the Athene Club.  She was elected borough auditor, a member of the Charleroi Recreational Board, and was an esteemed Charleroi PTA president.
While Mary Lou was a woman of many talents and passions, none were as cherished as her love for camping, cooking and reading. She had great enthusiasm for camping where many memories were made around the campfire with friends and family. She hosted unforgettable Christmas Eve parties where her warmth and generosity brought joy to all who attended.
Mary Lou’s memory will carry on by; her husband of over 60 years David F. DiPiazza, her sons Daniel G. (Dawn Pipik) DiPiazza and Doug (Kelly) DiPiazza, and her daughter Deanna (Jeff) Biddle. Her daughter-in-law Kim DiPiazza, her grandchildren Devin DiPiazza, Deia Biddle, Gianna Biddle, Dax DiPiazza, and Jeffery Biddle, and her great-granddaughter Sunny Biddle and nephew Steven Bransburg.
In addition to her parents, Mary Lou is preceded in death by her beloved son David F. DiPiazza, Jr., whose memory she held dear in her heart, and her sister Katherine Bransburg.

Antoinette "Nettie" Stillitano - August 26, 1943 - April 11, 2024

Obituary Preview: Antoinette “Nettie” Stillitano, 80, of Charleroi, died April 11, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. She was born August 26, 1943 to the late Pete and Frances (Pappaluca) Stillitano.
Nettie graduated from Charleroi High School in 1961. She continued her education at California State College, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in education. Nettie then received her master’s degree in elementary education from Duquesne University in 1969. Nettie taught elementary school in Monessen and Charleroi school districts for 36 years, where she impacted the lives of the many students that she loved.
Nettie was a member of St. Andrew the Apostle Church in Charleroi, where she sang with the choir for many years. She was the past president of the CWCC and BPW. She was also the former treasurer of the Charleroi Teacher’s Union, a member of her class’s reunion committee, and she belonged to the NEA and PSEA.
In her spare time, Nettie enjoyed gardening, spending time at the meadows, watching sports (especially as a Steelers season ticket holder), and trying her luck on scratch-offs. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her Brittany and their “baby,” Winnie. Nettie is survived by her daughter, Brittany Mucy, her cousin, Pam Heckman, and her dog, Winnie. She is also survived by numerous cousins and friends.
Along with her parents, Nettie was preceded in death by her sister, Carmen Stillitano.
Friends and family will be received on Sunday, April 14th, 2024 from 5:00 to 8:00p.m in the Hogan-Melenyzer Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 226 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi.   A mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, April 15th, 2024 at 10:00a.m. in St. Andrew the Apostle Church, Charleroi site, 624 Washington Avenue, Charleroi, Pa. 15022. Obituary Preview: Kenneth Lee Kibler Jr., 41, of Fallowfield Twp, passed away peacefully at home on April 2, 2024. Born in Monongahela, on January 28th, 1983, Kenny was the son of the late Kenneth Lee Kibler Sr. and Pamela Jo (Robbins) Kibler who survives.
A former fireman for the Fallowfield Township Fire Company, Kenny was the Plant Manager at Stone & Co Concrete & Builders. Kenny enjoyed cooking with his smoker and hosting barbeques at his house. He loved spending time outdoors, hosting bonfires, playing with his pets Thiago and Chuck and taking his nephews Alex and Barrett for rides on his John Deere tractor. Kenny loved spending time with his family and friends and will be sadly missed by many.
Surviving to cherish Kenny’s memory; his mother Pam Kibler, Sister Kelly (Eric) Brown, and his nephews Alex and Barrett Brown. His Grandmother, Norma “June” Kibler, Uncle Jeff (Patsy) Robbins, Aunt Cindy (Tom) Sukel, Aunt Susie Grecco, Aunt Leslie (Guy) Petruzzelli and numerous cousins.

Cathy was an avid reader of all genres and was most known for her storytelling that enchanted audiences of all ages. She loved to watch Jeopardy and outsmarted anyone who watched with her, she also enjoyed watching the historical channel and British Television. Cathy had a green thumb and loved tending to her plants. Cathy will be remembered as the most wonderful, kindhearted “Mammy” who loved nothing more but to spend time with her beloved family of whom will miss her the most.
Surviving to cherish Cathy’s memory; her son Jeremy Miklos and daughter Amanda Miklos, her grandchildren Jasmin (Chad) Melenyzer, Jenna (George Lukach) Miklos, Darius Cooper, and Sidney Miklos. Frank Joseph Paterra - March 28, 1946 - March 16, 2024

Obituary Preview: Frank Joseph Paterra, 77, of Charleroi, passed away peacefully on March 16th, 2024, with his family by his side. Born in Charleroi on March 28th, 1946, Frank was the son of the late Frank F. and Virginia (Cavanaugh) Paterra. In recent years, Frank was passionate about politics, frequent trips to the Y pool, daily chats with friends, and his nightly Bible studies. Yet perhaps his most cherished role was that of a loving father and grandfather. He will be missed by many.
Frank, an avid and colorful storyteller, loved recounting tales of his past. Following high school, he honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict. Frank proudly devoted his life to his community, serving as Mayor of Charleroi from 2006 to 2010, intermittently as Councilman between 2016 and 2023, and as President of Charleroi Council from 2022 to 23.
Frank's dedication to service spans back several decades. He served as Commander and Chaplain for the Charleroi American Legion Post 22 for many years. He also had been elected to the Charleroi School Board in 1973, was the Republican nominee for the U.S. House of Representatives in 1982, and had been elected to the North Charleroi Council in 1983. Frank was raised Catholic, and later became a member of the Journey by Grace Free Methodist Church, which he attended for more than 40 years. He sang with the church choir and would often perform featured solos for the entire congregation to enjoy. In the 1970s, Frank played the organ and sang with the popular group "The Eldorados" at happening local night spot — Charleroi Sons of Italy.
Frank loved to laugh and be in the presence of family. He had a strong spirit and a kind heart. Over the years he held a variety of interests, and enjoyed attending model train exhibits with his brother John, attending airshows with his children, and growing his collection of model trains and airplanes. A longtime member of the Mon Valley YMCA, Frank enjoyed spending time outdoors, particularly with his beloved dogs Caleb, Max, Mya, and Ben. Frank's greatest passion in life was championing his three children in all their endeavors.
Surviving to cherish Frank’s memory; his son Matthew Paterra, daughter Megan (Oscar) Shutt, and daughter Lauren (Bill) Lamb. His grandchildren, Hayden and Farrah Lamb, along with his brother Tom Paterra. Nephews; Michael, Tim, Patrick, and Joe Kolodychak, Kevin and Tim Paterra and numerous other nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Frank is preceded in death by his brother John Paterra and his sister Patty Kolodychak.

Mary Kathryn Mannella - May 09, 1935 - March 09, 2024

Obituary Preview: Mary Kathryn Mannella, 88, of North Charleroi, passed away peacefully at home on March 9th, 2024, with her family by her side. Born on May 9th, 1935, Mary Kathryn was the daughter of the late William and Margaret (McDonough) Randall.
For over six decades, she graced her card club with her presence; her culinary creations earned her the title of one of the best hostesses. Mary Kathryn’s intellect was matched only by her love for books, which she shared passionately, particularly during the cherished tradition of reading 'Twas the Night Before Christmas to her beloved grandchildren on Christmas Eve. An avid gardener, she always enjoyed spending time tending to her beautiful flowers that surrounded her home. Mary Kathryn loved to travel; her journeys led her to Ireland, Spain, Italy, and family vacations all across the United States. Family reunions and sisters' weekends, complete with a shared bottle of Jameson, were highlights of her year, a testament to her devotion to those she loved.
Surviving to cherish Mary Kathryn’s memory; her four children, William (Jan) Marraccini of Bangor PA, Mary Teresa “Terry” (Dave) Nicely of Eighty Four PA, Valerie (Dennis) Stitch of Lock View PA, and Eugene Marraccini Jr. of Lock View PA, and adored grandmother of Jennifer, Jessica, Jason, Amanda, Adrienne, Aaron, Sarah, Emmanuel, Patrick, and Sean, along with her nine great-grandchildren. Mary Kathryn is also survived by her sisters; Anne Yohe, Sandra Fitzwater, Phyllis Stammitti and Virginia Randall. Her brother Stephen Randall and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents Mary Kathryn is preceded in death by her husband Paul Mannella, her sister Margaret Alice Tatsch and her three brothers William Randall, James Randall and Joseph Randall.

Bernard "Bernie" Staranko - October 26, 1935 - March 03, 2024

Obituary Preview: Bernard “Bernie” Staranko, 88, of Charleroi, passed away Sunday, March 3, 2024. He was born on October 26, 1935 to the late John Staranko and Rose Rutsky Staranko.
Bernie was a carpenter by trade and a talented handyman, working for Lee Norse, Guttman Oil, and a multitude of family and friends. He graduated from Charleroi Area High School with the class of 1954 and served our country as an Army Reservist. He was an avid fisherman, traveling to Alaska, Canada and Lake Erie for trips with his sons and friends. He enjoyed spending time with friends at the various social clubs in the Mon Valley. He was a Free Mason at Lodge 337 and spent many years as a volunteer fireman and member of the fireman’s clown squad.
Surviving to cherish Bernie are his wife of 65 years, Lora Lee Madzy Staranko, sons Michael (Shawn) Staranko and John (Jane) Staranko, grandchildren Aaron Staranko, Shauna Staranko-Scott (Reverend Lee Scott), Madison Staranko (and son Spencer), Hayden Staranko (Haley Norkus), Marty Doctorick (Brooke Puskar) and Paige Doctorick (Luke Schorr). Bernie had a special love for his great granddaughters, Makenley Constantino (and her parents, Joe and Heather) and Mary Etta Jane Scott (age 3, who served as his little doctor during his recovery this past year). He leaves behind his beloved pet, Walter. Also surviving are his siblings, Alberta O’Brien, Eleanor Custozzo, Robert Staranko(Beverly) and Leonard Staranko, Brother in law Theodore Madzy(Edna), Sisters in law Myra Motycki, Marlene Tokar and Carol Green, many nieces and nephews and dear friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother John Staranko.

A longtime member of the Presbyterian Church of Charleroi, she worked for many years for Dr. Ureah and Dr. Mary Ducato for many years until her retirement. She was an avid reader and skilled seamstress. She enjoyed family vacations and traveling with her husband Stephen Sr. Emagene was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Surviving to cherish Emagenes memory; her daughter, Valerie (Bill) Stack and son Stephen (Kathy) Hega Jr. Her brother James C. (Judy) Parks. Grandchildren; Brett (Tracy) Katinsky, Brooke Katinsky, Rachel (Jason) Karelli, Stephen B. Hega III and Nathan (Aly) Hega. Her great-grandchildren; Anthony, Luca, Giana and Nico Karelli, Kellan Hega and her two nephews James and Johnathan Parks.

She was the widow of Roy Dixon Conaway, Sr. and had lived the majority of her life in Midway, Pa.
Mrs. Conaway was a member of St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Roscoe and a former member of Our Lady of Lourdes, Burgettstown.
She was a self-employed Public Accountant for over fifty years.
Surviving are two sons, Roy Dixon (Rusty) Conaway, Jr. (Despina) and Jon Kerry Conaway: five granddaughters, June Wendlandt (Matthew), Carrie Ann Conaway, Janine Mixter (Michael), Angel Temoshenka, Nikki Kelly and three great grandchildren, Josie, Keith and Karsyn.
She was laid to rest alongside her husband in Mt. Prospect Cemetery, Hickory.

Ann Dudiak Lucas - February 19, 1933 - February 21, 2024

Obituary Preview: Ann (Dudiak) Lucas of Charleroi, passed away on February 21, 2024, at the age of 91. Born on February 19, 1933 to the late Michael and Theodora Dudiak of Pittsburgh’s Southside, she was the tenth of thirteen children of Ukrainian immigrants. Ann was educated at St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic School and South Vocational Technical High School, where she graduated in 1950.
On July 25, 1953, she married Walter “Bucky” Lucas and together they raised four children Sue Ann (Kevin), Paula, Tim (Mirielle) and Mike. Ann and Bucky were later blessed with eight grandchildren (Daniel, Matthew, Katie, Marianne, Michael, Emma, Sarah and Maggie); three step-grandchildren (Sarah, Reemah, and Mariam); and thirteen great grandchildren (Emery,Graham, Griffin, Westin, Sydney, Sadie, Heidi, Nathan, Micah, Jonah, Lucas, Benjamin and Lucy).
Ann’s life reflected the primary values instilled in her by her parents, being faith, hard work and family. She began work at 14 as a pharmacy clerk, later worked as a key punch operator at Bell Telephone, a bookkeeper and a product promoter for ActNow and Avon. Devoted to her family, she relished large family get-togethers, visits with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and hosting and attending “Dudiak” monthly card clubs. Active well into her golden years, even into her seventies, she regularly played volleyball in a Monday league with friends from the South Side and challenged Bucky in tennis. She and Bucky also traveled often to his many college and high school sporting events.  Ann, however, was never more at peace than when she attended daily Mass and then socialized with friends who did the same.

Born in North Charleroi, on December 6th, 1942, Alice was the daughter of the late Vernon and Mildred (Henderson) Crilley.
She was the owner and operator of “Alice Caramela Interiors” and worked for over 40 years as a seamstress in the mon-valley area. Alice loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and her friends from highschool.
Surviving to cherish Alice’s memory; her daughter, Shawna (Lawrence) Vezzetti, son Theodore (Lisa) Caramela, and son Samuel Caramela. Her three grandchildren; Lauren (Rob) Mawhinney, L. Paul (Heather) Vezzetti and Kaitlyn Caramela. Her great-grandson Camden Mawhinney and her brother Richard (Beatrice) Crilley.
Alice is preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Mildred Crilley.

David Earle Mellinger - November 05, 1940 - January 27, 2024

Obituary Preview: David Earle Mellinger, 83, of Fallowfield Township, passed away suddenly on January 27, 2024.
Born on November 5, 1940 of Smithton, Pa, Dave graduated from S. Huntingdon High School, class of 1958. Following high school, Dave served honorably in the United States Army for 3 years; stationed in Germany where he achieved the rank of Corporal in the Military Police and the honorary Green Beret.
Dave retired as a structural steel ironworker. He then formed 3-D Corp., a construction company in 1973. He later had a shoe and leather repair shop called Dave’s Leather Shop for 13 years. Dave enjoyed selling his leather products at craft shows in the area and around the state.
Dave belonged to the Monongahela – Charleroi Masonic Lodge 337, where he was honored as Man of the Year in 2010, and received his 50 year recognition pin in 2023. He also belonged to the Charleroi American Legion – Post 22 and the Roscoe Gun Club where he enjoyed trap shooting. Through the years, Dave enjoyed meeting different groups of friends for coffee each morning; more recently at Charleroi Archery Club.
Dave was Lutheran, a member of the Charleroi Christ Lutheran Church for 58 years, where he served on the church council and as a lector.
Surviving to cherish Dave’s memory; his wife of 58 years, Bonnie F. (Jobes) Mellinger, his daughter Leslie (Keith S.) Woncheck, two grandchildren, Nora Faye and Keith David Woncheck, his brother-in-law Donald (Marilyn) Jobes Sr., sister-in-law Wendy Mellinger, his nephews and niece Donald (Sheila) Jobes, Jr., Aaron Mellinger, Matthew Mellinger, and Theresa (Tom) Lucy, and several cousins, and Dave’s good friend Mike Plevco. Dave is also survived by his sister, Judy Mellinger, and family in Tennessee.
Dave is preceded in death by his parents David E. and Gertrude (Sossa) Mellinger and his brother Barry Mellinger.
In Lieu of flowers the family asked for monetary donations to be made to the Christ Lutheran Church in Charleroi, 601 Washington Ave., Charleroi, PA 15022.

Bob was born on August 11, 1922 in Point Marion, but lived most of his life in Fallowfield Township, he was the son of the late George W. and Lilian (McCann) Geary. On August 27, 1947 Bob married June C. Armbruster, who passed away in 1998.
Bob served honorably in the United States Army during World War II and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. Bob and his unit were deployed to liberate the Nazi German Concentration Camps established all throughout Western Europe. After serving his country, Bob worked for 42 years at the Allenport Steel Mill.
Surviving to cherish Bob’s memory; his two sons, Patrick L. Geary of Charleroi and Christopher L. (Leah) Geary of Shrewsbury, Pa., and one daughter Lynda J. Waller of Wyoming. His two sisters, Loretta Yancoskie, 93, of Fayette City and Janice Frances, 97, of Pittsburgh. Also, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. And his very close friends Howard and Darlene Henninger of Claysville, Pa. and Freda Long of Washington, Pa.

Obituary Preview: Harold C. (Hal) Davies, age 92, formerly of Charleroi, PA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 20th, 2024 as a resident of Windsor Medical Center in North Canton, OH. Mr. Davies died from complications of vascular dementia. He was born on June 15th, 1931 as the only son of Clyde and Ruth Davies of Charleroi, PA. His paternal grandparents Rev. & Mrs. Albert H. Davies emigrated to the US from Wales, UK in the late 1800s and served in several United Methodist Church parishes south of Pittsburgh, PA, including Mt. Pleasant, PA. His maternal great grandparents and children immigrated to the US from Gersweiler, Germany also in the late 1800s and settled in the Charleroi, PA area.
In addition to the above, Mr. Davies was preceded in death by an infant sister, an infant son, Scott C. Davies, and his loving wife of 55 years, Elizabeth A. (Suter) Davies. He is survived by his children: Janet (Geoffrey) Bishop of North Canton, OH, Jeffrey Davies of Fayette City, PA and James (Heather) Davies of Donora, PA, his grandchildren: Jonathan (Grace) Bishop of North Canton, OH, Ethan (Jenna) Bishop of Cincinnati, OH, Benjamin (Rachel) Bishop of Columbus, OH, Alexis (Joseph) Alllcock of Rustburg, VA, Ashley Davies of Lynchburg, VA, Cole Davies of Fayette City, PA and Maxwell Davies of Greensburg, PA and his great grandchildren: Nora Bishop, Brody Bishop, Kade Bishop, Pierce Bishop and Rhett Allcock. He also leaves behind many loving brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins as his wife was one of thirteen children.
Harold was a graduate of Charleroi High School (Class of 1949) and the University of Pittsburgh in 1953 with a B.S. in Business Administration. He was a member of the R.O.T.C. program at Pitt and eventually served two years active duty as a First Lieutenant in the Army Corps of Engineers during the Korean War and as a Reserve Officer for six years after the war. He was particularly proud of the bridge kits that his unit devised that enabled forward progression of the US troops during the war.
Mr. Davies’ resumed employment with the Pittsburgh Regional Sales Office of Ford Motor Company after the war, where he was employed until being promoted in 1965 to the Dearborn, MI headquarters. Harold chose to resign from FMC in 1966 to become an auto dealer with his cousin Barry Tregembo briefly with Dodge, changing to a Ford Dealership in 1970. Davies and Tregembo Ford operated in Charleroi, PA for many years and became Davies Ford, Inc. in the early 1990s with Harold Davies as CEO.
Upon Mr. Davies’ retirement, the dealership has continued in operation by his family.
Harold and his wife Elizabeth were tireless supporters of the small business community in Charleroi, PA and the greater Mon Valley. Mr. Davies gave his time and treasure to many local organizations and charities. He was especially proud of his 50+ year membership in the Charleroi Lions Club and their volunteer activities, the Mon Valley Chamber of Commerce, Mon Valley Vo-Tech, Mon Valley Progress Council and the Mon Valley YMCA expansion committee. He was also a member of the Charleroi American Legion Post #22 and a Golden Panther, enthusiastically supporting the athletic programs at the University of Pittsburgh. He and his wife attended many home and away Pitt basketball and football games.
Friends will be received at the Hogan-Melenyzer Funeral Home, 226 Fallowfield Avenue, Charleroi, PA from 1pm-3pm and 5pm-8pm on Friday, January 26th, 2024. A celebration of Harold’s life will be held at Journey by Grace Church, 4803 State Route 51 North, Rostraver Township, PA on Saturday, January 27th, 2024 at 11:30am. At the conclusion of the service a continued celebration of Mr. Davies' life will be held inside the church. Interment will follow later that day in the Monongahela Cemetery with full military rites.

Joan Boda - May 09, 1942 - January 13, 2024

Obituary Preview: Joan Boda, 81, of Charleroi, died peacefully on Saturday, January 13, 2024 in Virginia Beach, VA surrounded by her sister, Beverly and Brother-in-law, Frank who together sacrificed their own lives and provided excellent around the clock care to her since her car accident in July. Joan was born May 9, 1942 and was the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Boda. Joan was a Charleroi High School graduate in the class of 1960 and was Lutheran by faith. She was a lifelong active member of St John’s Lutheran Church in Charleroi. Joan was a social butterfly who loved everyone! She could always be found helping others. Despite her injuries and struggles over the past 6 months, she never would complain and when asked how she was doing, would always respond with, “I’M FINE!”
Left to cherish her memory is her niece, who she raised as her own daughter, Nicole Polinski of Fallowfield Twp and husband Mike and their 2 sons, Michael and Nicholas who she loved and cherished more than anything! She never missed an event of Michael or Nick’s since the day they were born, they were her everything!  She is also survived by her sister, Beverly (Frank) Denson, of Va Beach; One brother, Kenneth (Cheryl) Boda of N. Charleroi and her sister-in-law, June Boda of Tampa, Florida. Joan had numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends all who she adored, especially her dearest friend, Rose McManus and her family. Although Joanie will be missed terribly, we are happy to know she is Rejoicing in Heaven with our heavenly Father.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Boda. Joan was never married but spent over 45 years with the love of her life, George “Moe” Ramusivich who died on August 15, 2015.

George served honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War era at the DMZ in Korea.
Greek Orthodox by faith; George was a member of the St. Spyridon Church in Monessen. George was a volunteer fireman for the Allenport Fire Department, and he was a member of the Roscoe American Legion – Post 801. He enjoyed his many years as the basketball and baseball coach for Allenport. George loved camping, hunting, and carpentry work and spending time with his beloved family and friends, especially with his family up at the farm.
Surviving to cherish George’s memory; his devoted wife of 55 years Marnie Benedetti, his sons Daniel Kalamaras and Marc (Denise) Kalamaras, his grandchildren Nathan, Jenna, and Joslyn Kalamaras. His sisters Mary Mermigas and Georgina Callas, his sister-in-law Mary Ann Kalamaras and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, George is preceded in death by his brother Peter Kalamaras, his brothers-in-law Theodore Mermigas and James Callas. Mike graduated from Greenbrier Military School in Lewisburg W.V. and continued his education at West Virginia University and Robert Morris College.
Mike was President and co-owner of Lee Supply Company Inc., for many years with his brother David Lee and sons, Kevin and Shawn Lee.
Mike was a member of the 10th Street Athletic Club, the Nemacolin Country Club, the Monongahela Valley Country Club and Charleroi Elks Club. He was the former past President of the Mon Valley Regional Chamber of Commerce, former board member of cfsbank and former member of the Pa. Coal Alliance. Mike also served as Council Member and Mayor of Stockdale.
Along with his great passion for his business, Mike enjoyed many hobbies. Boating and gathering of family and friends on his beloved “Bella” on the river. Numerous fishing trips, golf trips, football trips and he loved rooting for the Pittsburgh Steelers and going to games on the Steeler bus with his buddies. He also had the pleasure of attending several super bowls. He cherished traditional vacations with his family in Ocean City NJ and loved his trips to the island of Aruba. He also enjoyed going back to Greenbrier to reminisce with his old classmates. He will be forever proud of Lee Supply and the people that were part of the business success.
Surviving to cherish Mike’s memory; his loving wife of 58 years Mary “Maggie” Glasser Lee. His three children; son Kevin (Marisa) Lee, son Shawn Lee and daughter Dana (Val) Smith. His grandchildren whom he loved dearly; Alyssa (Nathan) Hega, Makenzie Lee, Sydney Lee, Christian Lee, Aislyn Lee, Shea Smith and Eden Smith. Two great-grandchildren Kellan Hega and Maeva Stafford, along with his brother David (Wendy) Lee.

Dorothy was born on April 29, 1935, the daughter of late parents Clarence and Mildred Younkin. Dorothy was the last surviving member of her family and was preceded in death by her husband Richard, sisters Irene Cooper (Vernon), Doris Kusaj (Bruce), and brother Clarence “Butch” Younkin.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter Shauna Soom (Uniontown, Pa.), granddaughters Kelsey (Pittsburgh, Pa.) and Olivia (Arlington, Va.), brother-in-law Vin Gallagher (Sun City West, Az.), and several nieces and nephews.
Dorothy had a long standing career in the accounting department at various automotive dealerships. She spent many evenings with her favorite groups of friends playing cards, enjoying dinners and keeping up with one another as a member of several Card Clubs. She belonged to the Mon Valley Quilt Club and was a dedicated volunteer for the Mon Valley Hospital Auxiliary. She was also a parishioner of Saint Andrew the Apostle Parish.
Dorothy often enjoyed traveling with family and taking cruises to tropical locations. Her greatest joy was spending time with her granddaughters and watching all of their achievements.

Donald retired from Corning Glass Charleroi Federal Credit Union after many years as a manager and treasurer. Donald loved watching his Pittsburgh sports teams and spending time with his friends and family of whom will miss him dearly.
Surviving to cherish Donald’s memory; his wife Barbara (Flowers) Ulens, his sons Jeff Ulens and Kevin (Cathy) Ulens, his grandsons Tyler and Adam (Caitlin) Ulens, and his numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Donald is preceded in death by his late wife Elaine Kinsey Ulens, his daughter Brenda Jennion and his son-in-law Brian Jennion, his brother William Ulens and sister Edith Yagnich.
