Obituary Preview: Floyd Hardwick Martin, age 90 of North Middletown, departed this life on Sunday, April 28, 2024, at his home on Millersburg Road, surrounded by his loving family. Floyd was born on August 31, 1933, in Bourbon County, the son of Asa Floyd and Martha Clark Martin, was a high school graduate, served in the United States Army, and retired after thirty years of service with Bundy Tubing. He also worked for the Bourbon County Road department, North Middletown Water Plant, did small engine repair, and was a jack of all trades. He was a member of Spears Mill Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for sixty-six years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara Jean Hinkson Martin; second wife, Betty Jean Williams Bohanan Martin; and a son, Larry Martin.
Surviving is a daughter, Darlene Woosley; grandchildren, Brandi (Greg) Ramey, Christopher (Leslie) Martin, Katie (Trevor) Booth, and Thomas Hall. Also surviving are great grandchildren, Miranda Miles, Landon Martin, Easton Martin, Maddie Booth, Olivia Booth; and a sister, Sue Getty.
The funeral service for Floyd Hardwick Martin will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday May 3, 2024, at Spears Mill Baptist Church with Rev. Philip Ronk officiating. Interment will follow in North Middletown Cemetery with casket bearers being Chris Martin, Landon Martin, Easton Martin, Derek Osborne, Adrian Martinez, and Rick Claypool. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. prior to the service.

Eula was born in Paris on February 20, 1955, the daughter of the late Lester and Betsie Ann Ginn Noel, attended Transylvania University and was a graduate of the University of Kentucky Nursing Program, spending her life helping others as a Registered Nurse. She enjoyed relaxing by reading and playing solitaire. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Jerry Wayne Noel and Charles Clay Noel. Shirley was born in Scott County, Kentucky on October 18, 1937, the daughter of the late James S. and Naomi Reynolds Sharp, retired from Kentucky Textiles, having worked for thirty-five years as a line worker, ten years at Square D, and had also worked at the Dairy Queen. She enjoyed fishing, working puzzles, was a lifetime member of Weight Watchers, and a member of Silas Baptist Church. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Lorena Arledge, Mildred Brown, Margaret Dray, Jack Sharp, Coly Sharp, Linda Garrison, Patricia Sharp, and a son-in-law, Jamie Stanfield.
Surviving is a daughter, Ida Bernice Stanfield; a son, Harvey Douglas (Rosemary) Bailey; five grandchildren, Kevin (Catherine) Stanfield, Kelly Stanfield, Kristen (Jason) Cox, Spencer (Casey) Bailey, and Alex Bailey. Also surviving are seven great grandchildren, Layla Cox Mila Cox, Marsh Bailey, Carl Bailey, Jean Bailey, Amelia Stanfield, Amadeus Neil; and a brother, Douglas (Barbara) Sharp. Obituary Preview: Paul Wayne Browning, husband of the late Reba Boggs Browning of Paris, Kentucky, departed this life on Thursday, April 11, 2024, at home, with his daughter-in-law and support from Amedisys Hospice of Lexington, South Carolina. Paul was born in Harrison County, Kentucky on April 4, 1936, the son of the late William and Christine Browning. As a young man, he worked on his dad’s farm. Paul was a veteran of the United States Navy, an insurance agent, and retired from IBM. He owned Browning’s Outdoor Power Equipment and co-owned Browning’s Country Hams with his wife, Reba. Paul enjoyed fishing and small-game hunting. He was a founding member and attended Bedford Acres Christian Church, and they were glad he wasn’t in the choir. While in South Carolina, Paul attended Calvary Chapel. He was also a Mason of good standing at Paris Lodge #2 F&AM. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Reba, and grandson, Timothy William Browning (Lisa Browning Golden).
Paul is survived by his son, Gregory (Gwen), his grandchildren Tamara Frye and Jason Walker, Sr. Great grandchildren Jason Walker, Jr. (Lori), Alexis Walker, Mathew Frye, Christopher Frye, Emma Browning, William Browning, and Shiloh Golden. Great, great grandchildren, Aria Walker and Emery Walker. As well as many other family members.

Shirley was born in Defiance, Ohio on July 23, 1934, the daughter of the late Byron and Christine Burdick Rogers, received her master’s degree from the University of Kentucky, taught middle school, high school, as well as college English, was a member of the U.K. Alumni Association, and was of the Presbyterian faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, James Withrow, and her late husband, Marshall Clark.
Surviving are three sons, Mark Withrow, Mike (Mary Ann) Withrow, Steve Withrow; six grandchildren, Katie (Randy) Winegardner, Erika (Garrett) Chapman, Abbie Withrow, Michael (Kim) Withrow, Shriver Withrow, and Estelle Withrow. Also surviving are great grandchildren, Roman Adkins, Sawyer Winegardner, Bella Chapman, Esther Winegardner, and Hazel Withrow. There will be no local services held for Shirley Rogers Withrow Clark. Obituary Preview: Paul King, 95, husband of Anna Lewis King for almost 75 years, passed away April 2, 2024, at his home in Paris, Kentucky surrounded by his family.
He was born in North Middletown, Kentucky on February 10, 1929 to the late Roy and Nellie King.
Paul was a 1948 graduate of North Middletown High School and was a member of Penn Avenue Baptist Church in Georgetown, Kentucky. He also attended the Calvary Christian Church in Paris.
In Paul’s early life he was a tobacco farmer. Later in life he worked for several beer distributors and was known by many in Paris for driving the Falls City and Stroh’s beer truck. He also worked at Kentucky Liquor, and Sunnyside Farm as a night watchman.
In his spare time Paul enjoyed fishing, hunting, and training beagle hounds for rabbit hunting. He loved the outdoors and had a passion for gardening. He had a reputation as being known for raising some of the biggest and best tomatoes in Bourbon County. He loved sports, especially U.K. Basketball. He spent many years following his grandsons’ sports teams (baseball, basketball, and football).
Along with his wife Anna, he is survived by two children, Monte (Cissy) King and Paula (Kevin) Cox; four grandsons, Casey King, Cary (Brooke) King, Hayden (Courtney) Cox, Houston Cox; and a great granddaughter, Amelia King and several nieces, nephews, and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Edith Hedges, Caywood King, Lucille Walton, and Pauline Riddle.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home, 526 Pleasant Street, Paris, Kentucky. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Interment will immediately follow the service in the Paris Cemetery.

J.R. was born in Bourbon County on July 25, 1936, the son of the late James Vernon Dailey and Della Keller Bringman, was a 1955 graduate of Bourbon County High School, a long-time farmer, as well as having retired from IBM after 25 years of service and was a bus driver for Bourbon County Schools for 17 years. He was a member of Trinity First Church of God, Paris Lodge #2 F&AM, Scottish Rite, Rotary Club, and loved his antique Farmall tractors. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Lynn Dailey, and a brother, John “Tommy” Dailey.
Survivors include his daughter, Tracy Dailey (Keith) Burchell; a sister-in-law, Helen Dailey; brother-in-law, Gary Burke; caregiver and special friend, Carlotta (Calvin) Isaacs; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The visitation for James Robert “J.R.” Dailey will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at Hinton-Turner Funeral Home with the funeral service to begin at 1:00 with Masonic Rites immediately following. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Allen Cleaver.
Surviving is a son, Terry Crouch and his wife Dawn; daughter, Belinda Graves and her husband Bourbon; a granddaughter, Brandy Graves; and two grandsons, Keith (Beth) Graves, and John Thomas (Stephanie) Crouch. Also surviving are three great grandchildren, Ella Graves, Reid Graves, Josie Crouch; siblings, Charles (Anna Lois) Cleaver, Margaret (Francis) Honaker; along with several nieces, nephews; and a special care giver, Kathy Evans.

Obituary Preview: Wilma Jean Curtis of Millersburg, widow of Ledford B. Curtis was called to her heavenly home on Friday, March 1 at Baptist Health Hospital having attained the age of 91 years. Wilma Jean was born in Mount Sterling on October 31, 1932, the daughter of Elmer and Alberta Utterback Turner. She was a homemaker and a care provider to over thirty-five children whom affectionally called her “Granny”. She was a skilled seamstress and gardener. Her greatest love was her Lord, followed closely by her family. She was a member of the Herrington Methodist Church for most of her adult life, serving as Board Secretary, President/Secretary/Treasurer of the Methodist Women. Through the years she taught nursery/pre-school Sunday School Class, Vacation Bible School as well as Junior Church. She often filled in wherever needed with making announcements, song leader, lighting candles or taking care of Communion. Herrington Methodist Church was her second family. She raised her family in Christian faith with Christian values. Her happy place was wherever she was holding a baby.
Surviving are three sons, Wayne (Bobbie Ann) Curtis, Ricky Curtis, and Scott Curtis (Vanessa Highland), four daughters, Linda (Terry) Cassity, Diane Wagoner, Rose Mary (Doug) Bailey and Wanda (Andrew) Daniel. Also surviving are fourteen grandchildren Brian (Heather) Cassity, Kyle Cassity, Tim (Latasha) Curtis, Georgia Shuler, Mandy (Michael) Wagoner, Derrick Wagoner (Allison Merideth), Spencer (Casey) Bailey, Alexa Bailey, Kristen (Jason) Cox, Victoria Daniel, Abigail Daniel, Ashley Daniel (David), Blake (Amanda) Lizer, Zach (Lori) Curtis, Shawn Curtis. In addition, Wilma Jean had twenty great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers, JC Turner and Roy Turner and one sister, Ruth Gilvin, a son-in-law, Randy Wagoner, one great grandson, Mitchell Curtis and one great great granddaughter Laura Kate Wagoner.
Visitation will be held at Hinton-Turner Funeral Home on Monday, March 4th at 10 am with services to immediately follow at 11 am. Interment will be at the Millersburg Cemetery. Wilma Jean’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers and her granddaughters will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Obituary Preview: Leah Montgomery Boardman died Saturday, February 17, 2024 in Evansville, Indiana, where she had been cared for since Christmas. She was born in Paris, Kentucky on August 16, 1959, the only child of the late Alma Doyle Boardman and Olin Thomas Boardman. Until her brief stay in Evansville, she had been a life-long resident of Paris. She attended Paris City schools and graduated from Paris High School in 1977. She was a 1981 graduate of Transylvania University and became a math teacher at Crawford Junior High School in Lexington, Kentucky. She thoroughly loved her career and taught at Crawford for 31 years, retiring in 2012. A passionate UK fan, her greatest pleasure was watching the Wildcats on the basketball court. Leah was caring, kind, generous to a fault, and fiercely loyal to her family. She was devoted to her immediate and extended family and served for many years as the secretary for the Doyle Family Reunion and, along with her mother, was committed to hosting the annual Christmas Eve gathering of the descendants of her maternal grandparents, W.O. and Bertha Adams Doyle.
She is survived by her cousins, Brandi Doyle (John) Hahn, Patty L. Doyle, Lola Darlene McKinney, James Wallace (Juanita) McKinney, Bobbie McKinney Roe, Wanda McKinney (Donnie) Crump, Lisa A.
