Mr. Lopez was born July 16, 1948 to Emiterio and Aurora (Covarrubio) Lopez in Marlin, Texas.
Jose worked for over 30 years as a fabricator for Excel Machinery and enjoyed spending his spare time watching boxing or fishing Lake Texoma; he especially liked finding new waters to fish in. He also loved to coach kids’ baseball and watching his grandkids play the game.
Jose is preceded in death by his parents and by his sister Dalia Lopez.
He leaves behind his brother Jesse Valle and wife Mari of Amarillo, Texas and sister Marlena of Odessa, Texas as well as his children Jose Lopez, Jr. and wife Julie of Helotes, Texas, Jessica Carnahan of Hereford, Texas, Jacob Lopez and wife Beth of Lubbock, Texas, and Jeremy Lopez and wife Macy of Hereford, Texas. Also surviving him are his grandchildren Kaden and Jackson Lopez of Helotes, Texas, Marty, Mitchell, and Jessalyn Carnahan of Hereford, Texas, Noah and Lily Lopez of Lubbock, Texas, and Jude, Javen, and Jolie Lopez of Hereford, Texas along with many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends all of whom love him and will miss him greatly.

Obituary Preview: Ronnie Franklin Provence, of Hereford, Texas, passed away Thursday July 25th at the age of 57.
Mr. Provence was born August 5th, 1961 in Amarillo, Texas to Tommy Joe and Patricia Ann (Westmoreland) Provence. The family moved to Hereford in 1963. Ronnie attend college and served a term in the U.S. Navy. He lived for several years in Hawaii, working in auto leasing and plumbing, performing the same work upon returning to Hereford.
He was proud of his Native American heritage and was an artist at heart. He spent his free time doing calligraphy, painting, sketching, and woodworking. He especially enjoyed time spent with his grandchildren.
Ronnie leaves behind his parents Tommy and Pat Provence, his two brothers Blane and Tannar Provence, and his children Danielle and husband John Parsons, Michael Provence, Shanah Provence, and Kalee’ Provence—all of Hereford, Texas. Also surviving him are his grandchildren Quinnley Parsons, Sunny Parsons, and Kason Guzman.

Date of Death – July 21, 2019 Place of Death – Ussery Roan Veterans Home, Amarillo Tx Parents – William “Floyd” and Wilie Belle McNutt Date of Birth – January 16, 1930, Quanah, Tx Married – Dona Ruth Lee on February 9, 1952 Children – Larry Bryant of Hereford and Barry Neil McNutt of Amarillo
Neil was a character! Whenever he walked into the room he would let out a resounding “Yee Haw,” so that everyone would know he had arrived. He dreamed of flying as a child and in 1947 decided to join the Airforce. When discharged Neil did painting and carpentry on the side while he continued to pursue his need to have wings. He “buzzed” many a farmer during his 37-year occupation as a spray pilot for American Dusting. Everyone knew that if you had a weak stomach they shouldn’t take a plane ride with him because he loved aerial maneuvers. After retirement Neil delivered cars for the Ford House where he made many “travel friends.” He enjoyed eating at the Ranch House on Saturday mornings, telling off colored jokes, going to the movies, and playing roulette with his grandsons. Neil had one of the biggest collections of toenail clippers imaginable!
He is preceded in death by his wife, Dona Ruth Lee and granddaughter Keeton McNutt.
Neil is survived by his sisters Bobbi Hobby and Eddia Belle Bland. Sons Larry Bryant and Barry Neil. Grandsons Bryant, Eric, Wade, and Travis McNutt and nine great-grandchildren.

Enrique Hector Mendoza, of Hereford, Texas, passed away Saturday, July 13 at the age of 76.
Mr. Mendoza was born February 13, 1943 to Higinio Mendoza and Alicia Garza in Laredo, Texas. He met the love of his life, Elvira Contreraz, and the two married on September 24, 1960 in Hereford. Together they raised their family of six daughters and three sons. Enrique worked as a driver for Holly Sugar and later for Warren Brothers Car dealership as salesman. He was dedicated to his wife and family and he especially loved to sing Elvis and other “oldies” as well as Mexican music. His family liked to call him “The King” and now “The King” is gone.
Enrique is preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 57 years Elvira, and grand- daughter Eva Mendoza.
He leaves behind his six daughters, Edna Castro, Lydia Mendoza, Alma Mendoza, Ida Trevizo, Gloria Mendoza, and Alice Mendoza and three sons, Hector, Higinio, and Pete Mendoza in addition to 32 grandchildren and 62 great-grandchildren.
Also surviving him are his three sisters, Teresa Sierra, Alice Medina, and Thelma Brock and his five brothers, Higinio Mendoza, Juan Garza, Albert Garza, Jose Garza, and Henry Hernandez as well as many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends all of whom love him and will miss him greatly.

Mr. Trevino was born on September 25, 1932 in Lasara, Texas to Encarnacion Trevino and Loretta Gutierrez Trevino. He came to Hereford in 1974 and met his wife Maria Perez Trevino in 1983 and the two were married on April 12th, 1985. Together they raised four daughters, four sons, and 2 stepsons. Frank worked for over 45 years as a driver for Lloyd Newton Trucking in Hereford and, in his spare time, he enjoyed Cumbias dancing and watching John Wayne movies. His family remembers him as a quiet, hardworking man who was a good listener and always willing to help others.
Frank is preceded in death by his parents, his two brothers, and his 3 sisters.
Surviving him are his wife of 34 years Maria Trevino, his daughters, sons, and stepsons, and 30 grandchildren. Frank also leaves behind numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends all of whom love and will miss him greatly.

Prayer service will be 6:00 p.m. Thursday, June 6, 2019 at Hereford Heritage Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 7, 2019 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church with Father Tony Neusch and Father Scott Raef officiating. Burial will be at the original St. Anthony's cemetery, just east of the HHS football stadium. "Get 4 yards"
Mark was born on October 1, 1968 in Hereford, TX. He attended St. Anthony's Catholic School as a boy. Mark played running back for Hereford High School and also famously kicked the winning field goal against Cleburne to advance deep into the playoffs in 1986. In 1987, he was inducted into the Panhandle Sports Hall of Fame and graduated from HHS. Mark then earned an Accounting degree magna cum laude from Texas Tech University in 1990. Afterwards, Mark passed his Certified Public Accountant exam and worked at Peat Marwick in Amarillo, Coopers & Lybrand in Dallas, Grant Thornton in Dallas, Crofoot Cattle Company in Lubbock, and finally self employed as a tax accountant in Lubbock. Mark loved to travel and always went out of his way to get a laugh. He drove at excessive speeds and played his music loud. If it was too fast or too loud... you were too old. Mark would give you the shirt off his back without blinking an eye and seemed to always offer up what was his to others. He lived life by his rules, on his time, and would not be managed. "Rock out and win"
Mark was preceded in death by his grandparents, Paul and Mary Artho of Umbarger; grandparents, Raymond and Catherine Batenhorst of Umbarger; nephew, Nolan Artho of Amarillo; nephew, Jackson Artho of Lubbock. Mark is survived by his parents, Joe and Theresa Artho of Hereford; brother, David Artho and his wife Janis of Canyon; brother, Michael Artho and his wife Rhonda of Dumas; brother, Dennis Artho and his wife Lisa of Hereford; brother, Stephen Artho and his wife Sheri of Amarillo; brother, Joseph Artho and his wife Liz of Lubbock. Obituary Preview: Mrs. Bess Williams, longtime resident of Hereford, Texas, passed away Friday, May 31st at the age of 88.
Mrs. Williams was born on August 3rd, 1930 to Elmer “Bud” Lee and Ruby Margaret (Hannigan) Whitehorn in Levelland, Texas. She married Charlie Stevens Williams on May 17th, 1947 in Morton, Texas and the couple moved from Wolfforth, Texas to Hereford in 1968 where they raised their three children: Glenn, Gary, and Margaret.
Bess held an accounting degree and ran her own business, Williams Bookkeeping Service for over 40 years until she retired in her 80’s. Mrs. Williams was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved to spend her free time dancing Country Western and Waltz and was an accomplished seamstress, making all the children’s clothes for them during their school years. She was also a lifelong member of the Fellowship of Believers Church and served as their bookkeeper and even assisted in the building of the church itself.
Bess is preceded in death by her parents, and her husband of 62 years, Charlie Williams.
Survivors include her children: Glenn and wife Brenda Williams of Lubbock, Texas, Margaret Darnell of Amarillo, Texas, and Gary Williams of Dimmitt, Texas, and grandchildren Robby and wife Nancy Williams of Tuttle, Oklahoma, Brent Oden and Allen Higby of Midland, Texas, Kendra Oden and husband John Gable of Lubbock, Texas, Steven and wife Tomasina Carter of Hico, Texas, Colby and wife Shantell Williams of Nazareth, Texas, and Brittany and husband Michael Rangel of Lubbock, Texas. She also leaves behind 13 great grandchildren and 3 great, great grandchildren.

Dolores was born on March 7th, 1932 to Wesley Robert and Iva Gladys (Rasmussen) Carpenter in Kalispell, Montana. She met her husband, Elmer Earl Brookhart in 1953 and the two were married on June 27th, 1953 in Bellevue, Washington, then moved to Hawaii where they owned a chain of businesses called “Dodis”. They came to Oklahoma in 1973 where Earl ran the family ranch and they later moved to Hereford, Texas where he was involved in cattle breeding.
Mrs. Brookhart worked for over twenty years as a legal secretary for a Hereford area law firm, and later as secretary for the Hereford Senior Citizen’s Center. She also volunteered at the Hereford Regional Medical Center and was an enthusiastic member of the “Red Hat Club”. In her free time, she enjoyed reading and watching Gunsmoke with Earl.
Dodi is preceded in death by her parents, and by her beloved husband Earl.
Survivors include her sister Donna Bright of Hereford, Texas, her sons Greg and wife Janice Brookhart of Amarillo, Texas and Brady and wife Sandy Brookhart of Hereford, Texas, as well as her grandchildren Mary and husband Rex Williams of Canyon, Texas, Anne Brookhart of Amarillo, Texas, Brandi and husband Max Darnell of Bixby, Oklahoma, Brian and wife Emily Brookhart of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Brenda Brookhart of Amarillo, Texas, and Brook and wife Amanda Brookhart of Hereford, Texas. She also leaves behind nine great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends, all of whom love and will miss her greatly.

Obituary Preview: Mr. Billy C. Warrick, longtime Hereford resident passed away Wednesday, May 15 at the age of 89.
Mr. Warrick was born the ninth and last son of a family of thirteen on June 7, 1929 in Garvin, Oklahoma to James Preston and Nettie Evaline (Freeman) Warrick. He married Ellen Bingham on February 15, 1952 in Clovis, New Mexico and the two moved to Hereford, Texas in that year. He was a faithful member of Frio Baptist Church since 1952 and was ordained a Deacon in 1967. He worked for J.E. Warrick in agriculture for 40 years.
Billy was a farmer and a family man. He clothed and fed and sheltered his lads and wife; above all he loved and taught them love. His family remembers Billy as a man with a thousand stories who, like Will Rogers, “Never met a man he didn’t like”.
Mr. Warrick is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Ellen, his eight brothers and sisters, and four great-grandchildren.
Billy leaves behind his sons Billy Eugene and wife Lanee Warrick of Water Valley, Texas and Raymond Carl and wife Pam Warrick of Amarillo, Texas and his sister Miriam Powell of Odessa, Texas. Also surviving him are ten grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Also surviving him are close friends Jean Gilter, Stacie Lloyd, and April Money as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, all of whom love and will miss him greatly.

Marcela was born January 16thst, 1946 in Hays County, Texas to Margarito and Hilaria Cano, and had been a resident of Hereford since 1968.
Ms. Cano was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church and had worked at The Village Jewelry Store as well as Betty Simpson’s Day Car Center. In her spare time, she enjoyed watching soap operas—The Young and the Restless was a favorite—and scratching off her lottery tickets while drinking a big Red Soda. She also loved making rosaries.
Marcela is preceded in death by her parents, a sister Gloria Cano, her brother Sonny Cano, and her two grandsons Juan Enrique Merino and Margarito Merino.
Survivors include her daughter, Polly Beltran and husband Carlos Muñez of Hereford, Texas, son David Villarreal and wife Martha of Amarillo, Texas, three sisters: Frances Tamez and husband Saturnino of Hereford, Texas, Dalia Espinoza and husband Chon of Amarillo, Texas, and Emma Cano of Seguin, Texas, grandchildren Matthew Cervantez and Enrique Merino, Jr., both of Hereford, Texas, Ylianna and Lexi Villarreal of Amarillo, Texas, Heather Villareal of Hereford, Texas, and Harley David Villareal, of Illinois. In addition, she leaves behind several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends all of whom love and will miss her dearly.
The family wants to thank AP Palliative Care staff, especially her primary care nurses Joey Clark, Jaclyn Thurman, April Hamilton, B.J. Smith, Ken Branum, Susan Thomason, and Jonathan Elmquist for the care they gave her.

Rosa was born April 1st, 1941 in La Mesa, Texas to Trinidad and Teodora (Garcia) Salazar. She moved to Hereford in 1959. She remained in Hereford the rest of her life and was a Chef at the Hereford Heritage Country Club for over 40 years, then worked in Adult Day Care at King’s Manor for another 5 years before retiring. Rosa was always there for her children and served as both a Mom and a Dad to them and their children. Family members would often say to her, “Hey Mom, do you want anything?” and she would smile and say, “Sure, I want a million dollars—and not a nickel less!”
Ms. Ramos is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Paul Salazar, and brother-in-law Ignacio Lemus.
She is survived by sister-in-law Alicia Salazar (deceased husband Paul) of Hereford, Texas, her brothers Tony Salazar and wife Olivia, and Alberto Salazar, all of Midland, Texas, Jesse and wife Carmen Salazar of Canyon, Texas, and sisters Modema (deceased husband Ignacio) Lemus, Julia Chavez, and Maria Guzman, all of Hereford, Texas, and Benita Griego of Canyon, Texas. Rosa also leaves behind her children Pete and wife Araceli De La Cruz of Hereford, Texas, Cristina and husband Humberto Veliz of Amarillo, Texas, Norma and wife Janie De La Cruz of San Antonio, Texas, Santiago (Jimmy) Ramos and wife Sandy of Hereford, Texas, and Joey Ramos, also of Hereford, Texas. In addition, Rosa leaves behind 16 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews, and cousins, all of whom love and will miss her greatly.
She is also fondly remembered by her dear friend Henry Dominguez.

Teresa was born Nov 21, 1926 in White Deer, Texas to Sylvester and Sophia (Moraweitz) Bednorz. She married Edward “Bud” Paetzold on July 8, 1945 in McCook, Nebraska, and had been a resident of Hereford since 1945. Mrs. Paetzold was a member of St Anthony’s Catholic Church and served the community as a member of the Antonian Circle, St Anthony Guild, the Parish Advisory Board, the church cemetery committee, St Anthony’s Women Organization and the Diocesan council of Women. Teresa also worked in the church office for over 20 years and helped with clothing ministry for the migrant workers at the Labor Camp. In addition, she was on the board of directors of the Hereford Food Pantry, Volunteered at the Senior Center, Festival of Trees, and the senior thrift shop. In her spare time, Teresa enjoyed doing crafts and puzzles, and playing dominoes and bingo with family and friends.
Mrs. Paetzold is preceded in death by her husband Edward “Bud” Paetzold, her parents, her son Joe Paetzold, and 3 brothers: Charlie, Mike, and Eddie Bednorz.
Survivors include her son Larry Paetzold and wife Martha of Hereford, Texas, and their two children Jeremy (wife Michelle) Paetzold of Hereford, Texas, and Lori (husband Ian) Railey of Lubbock, Texas, her daughter Patsy Douglass and husband Scott of Annandale, Virginia, and their 2 sons Michael Douglass of Annandale, Virginia, and Daniel (wife Sabrina) Douglass of Fredericksburg, Virginia, and daughter-in-law Kathy Markley Paetzold Kuhne of Northeast, Pennsylvania, and her 4 children Jason Paetzold, Jill (Husband Pete) Reitz of Olathe, Kansas, Luke Paetzold of New York City, New York, and Abby Kuhne of Northeast, Pennsylvania. Teresa also leaves behind one brother, Fritz Bednorz of Canyon, Texas as well as 18 great-grandchildren, numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends, all of whom love and will miss her greatly. Mr. Lady was born April 20, 1934 in Deaf Smith County, Texas to Cecil and Pauline (Fincher) Lady.
He graduated from Hereford High School in 1952 and from West Texas State College (now West Texas A & M University) in 1957. He and Betty Buse were married May 21, 1957 in Hereford, Texas. He spent his active duty in the United States Army in Germany. After returning to the States, he and Betty lived in Amarillo, Texas until moving to Abilene, Texas January 1st, 1961. He received his Honorable Discharge from the Army on the 31st day of March 1963. The couple had adopted Cynthia and Brian by then, and the family moved back to Hereford, Texas in late 1966. Daughter Alison came along on September 6, 1967. Wayne worked 24 years at the Deaf Smith Electric Coop as Office Manager and Accountant until his retirement in 2005.
Wayne’s hobby was cutting and assembling wood craft items for Betty to paint and decorate. They traveled together to arts and crafts shows in Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Missouri with the items they’d produced together.
Mr. Lady is preceded in death by his wife Betty, his parents, and by one great-grandchild. He is survived by his brother Jim Lady and wife Janice of Sweet Home, Oregon and by his three children: Cynthia Lady of Shongaloo, Louisiana, Brian Lady of Eden, Texas, and Alison Lady of Hereford, Texas. He also leaves behind six grandchildren: Jossalyn Walden-McDaniel, Jackie Humphries, Bob McClure, Jacob Lady, Brandi Ramirez, and Britni Esqueda and nine great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends all of whom love and will miss him greatly.

Mrs. Alvarez is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Pablo T. Alvarez I, Cruz T. Alvarez, and Pablo T. Alvarez II, and by a daughter Theresa Quintanilla.
She is survived by her brothers Fred T. and wife Olga Alvarez and Edward T. and wife Pam Alvarez, all of Artesia, New Mexico, and by her children Ernestina and husband Frank Ramirez of Hereford, Texas and Linda Boice and Pete Underhill of Anthem, Arizona.

He worked most of his life in concrete construction with his brother as Garcia Brothers Concrete Construction. He loved to joke and always had something funny to say in his quiet way. Pancho loved to go fishing in his spare time. He was a giving man and loved his family; he was especially fond of spending time with his grandchildren.
Mr. Garcia was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers Nicolas and wife Maria Garcia, Valentin Garcia, Marcos Garcia, Gregorio Garcia, and by his sister Agapita Cantu.

Obituary Preview: Jonny E. Cloud, of Hereford, Texas, passed away Monday, February 18th at the age of 81.
Mr. Cloud was born March 3rd, 1937 to Paul and Geneva Avis (Bartley) Cloud in Dalhart, Texas.
Jonny studied Business Administration at Taft Junior College in Taft, California, Adams State University in Alamosa, Colorado, and at the University of Corpus Christi in Corpus Christi, Texas—attending all of them on a football scholarship, a sport he played for all five years of his college education. He then served his country as a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps for four years from 1960 to 1963. After an honorable discharge, he came to Hereford in 1964 to work at the original First National Bank. He met the love of his life, Judith Anne Kriegshauser in the fall of that year and the two were married on June 12, 1965 at St. Anthony’s Church.
Mr. Cloud lived his life as a man dedicated to his family and to God. He enjoyed camping with his family in New Mexico every year. He ministered to his fellows as president of the Full Gospel Businessmen’s Fellowship for five years, meeting together twice a month. He was also a member of the Ecumenical Ministerial Alliance where he took part in weekly prayer and civic projects. He kept himself fit for his work with a run that he was sure to get in each day. Shortly before his retirement from the bank in 1991, he was ordained a Deacon of the Catholic Church in 1988 and further dedicated himself to serve his faith and his community. He was present for every event and service at the Church, ran the weekly parish prayer group, and started the Saturday Mass Choir. He is fondly remembered for his servant’s heart which he offered to every one of every faith.
Mr. Cloud is preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Avis Cloud. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 53 years, Judith Anne, his sister Paula Seim of Lubbock, Texas, his three children Bradley Arrington Cloud of Canyon, Texas, Melissa and husband Dan Rhoades of Lantana, Texas, and Stephen and wife Lindsey Cloud of Dallas, Texas. He also leaves behind six grandchildren: Kyla Marie Cloud of Canyon, Texas, Brandon Anthony Cloud of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Mason Wayne, Caroline Grace Rhoades of Lantana, Texas, and Allie Reese Bryant of Dallas, Texas,and one great-grandchild Abrielle Sage Caballero. Also surviving him are aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends all of whom love and will miss him greatly.
