Glenn David Staab - May 18, 1955 - April 16, 2022

Departed: 04/16/2022 (Hays)
Obituary Preview: Glenn David Staab
Glenn David Staab, 66, Hays, died Saturday, April 16, 2022 at Via Christi Village.
He was born May 18, 1955 in Hays, the son of Roger and Verla (Kreutzer) Staab and was the first of five children.  He graduated from Hays High School in the class of 1973.  Glenn married Dottie Marie Stephens on July 4, 1975 and they brought four children into the world: Justin David (1980, deceased), Craig Anthony (1982), Kevin Richard (1984), and Michelle Renee (1985).
Glenn was an active member in many political, social, community, and volunteer organizations.  He was a man who cared deeply about his community, and always had a willingness to go out of his way to help others.  Many met Glenn through his occupations in insurance and real estate, or his active involvement in state and local politics, but those were typically just beginning chapters to what would become life-long friendships.  Friends were a close second to what he loved most - his family.  Anyone who knew Glenn was likely to know about his brothers and sister, nieces and nephews, kids, grandchildren, and of course, his soulmate Dottie.  These were treasures in life he valued more than anything.  While the passing of Glenn is painful because of the many lives he positively touched and impacted, he would not want his death to be mourned, but rather his life to be celebrated.  Pass along a story, share an old joke, or recollect a memory you have of Glenn that made your life better.
Survivors include his wife Dottie of Hays, two sons: Craig Staab and wife Trish and their daughters Kenadee and Karsyn and son Holden, all of Spring Hill and Kevin Staab and wife Kori and daughter Lydia, all of Lawrence, a daughter: Michelle Staab of Overland Park, three brothers: Lyle Staab and wife Marilyn of Overland Park, Dale Staab and wife Steph of Hays, and Mark Staab and wife Missie of Allen, TX, and a sister: 1985 Hays High Homecoming Queen Terri (Staab) Hamel and husband Kyle of Gilbert, AZ, and many other family members, including nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Roger and Verla Staab, father and mother in-law: Neal and Helen Stephens, and son Justin.  We find comfort knowing Glenn is reunited with the friends and family members who passed before him, and are certain his distinctive laugh blends perfectly with the voices of the saints and angels. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, with Fr. Earl Befort officiating.  Inurnment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 9:30 am until service time.  Memorials may be made payable to Kiwanis Club of Hays, The Arc of Central Plains, or Hospice of HaysMed.  Condolences and memories of Glenn may be shared with the family at www.haysmemorial.com

Whitney Erin Woofter - November 05, 1982 - February 28, 2022

Departed: 02/28/2022 (Hays)
Obituary Preview: Whitney Erin Woofter
Whitney Erin Woofter passed away at her home in Manhattan, Kansas on February 28, 2022.
Whitney was born on November 5, 1982 in Manhattan, the daughter of Wayne and Gera Lou (Wieland) Woofter.  She was a surprise addition—as her parents found out they were having twins in the delivery room. Though she was only 18 minutes younger than her twin sister, she was always the “baby” of the family.  Whitney graduated from Hays High School in 2001 and went on to study art at Kansas State University. She remained a Wildcat fan her entire life.  While in college, she battled and defeated kidney cancer. Then she decided to turn her artistic abilities into a career in cosmetology and graduated from Hays Academy of Hair Design.  She worked in Hays and later Manhattan as a hair stylist and loved making clients beautiful.
To know Whitney was to love her.  She had a magnetic personality and was larger than life.  Her wit and sarcasm kept everyone on their toes and she ALWAYS had something funny to say.  Friends will remember her big smile and kind heart.  Whitney was a huge animal lover and had a special place in her heart for rescue dogs, especially her beloved Sadie and Boston.  She was a talented artist in every sense of the word, from her sketches, to her house decorating, to crafting the perfect hairstyle for her special clients. She truly had glitter in her veins and never left the house without impeccable makeup, hair, and bling to match her (often leopard-print) outfit.  But she was also an exercise enthusiast who enjoyed hitting the trails for a run, with cute running shoes and a matching outfit, of course.  She was becoming a gifted cook and enjoyed traveling and any opportunity for adventure.
She is lovingly remembered by her parents Wayne and Gera Lou Woofter of Hays, KS, brother: Tucker Woofter and wife Deb of Gardner, KS, sister: Joslin Hubbard and husband Paul of McKinney, TX, and grandfather: Duane Woofter of Lincoln, NE.  Aunt Whit Whit is also survived by her very special nephews: Iggy and Jayden Woofter and nieces: Parker, Leila, and Payton Hubbard.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents: John and Ila Lee Wieland, and her grandmother: Ethel Jean Woofter. A celebration of Whitney’s life is planned from 4:00 pm until 6:00 on Friday, March 11, 2022 at Smoky Hill Country Club, Hays.  Friends and family are invited to come and go during this time.  Private family inurnment will be at a later date in Beulah Cemetery, Colby.  Memorials may be paid to T. Russell Reitz Animal Shelter, Manhattan, and mailed to Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, 1906 Pine Street, Hays, KS  67601.  Condolences and memories of Whitney may be shared with her family at www.haysmemorial.com
