Harold W Freetly - August 18, 1925 - April 26, 2022

Obituary Preview: Harold W. Freetly, 96, of Kerkhoven, died Tuesday, April 26th at Carris Health Rice Hospital in Willmar. His Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 am, Wednesday, May 4th at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Murdock. Visitation will be from 5-7:00 pm, Tuesday, at Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar and continue one hour prior to his service at the church. Burial will be at a later date at Hillside Cemetery in Kerkhoven. www.hafh.org
Harold William Freetly was born in Fulda on August 18, 1925 to Glen and Anna (Baumgartner) Freetly. He was the eldest of seven children. Harold was baptized and confirmed at St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church in Fulda. He attended country school for four years, parochial school for four years and graduated from Fulda High School in 1943 and left for Navy bootcamp six days later. He attained the rank of 2nd class Petty Officer and was trained as an Aviation Electrician Technician. He helped install jet boosters on torpedo bombers, to prevent them from falling in the ocean on takeoff.
Harold worked as a lineman for Northwestern Bell for two years. He attended Coyne Electrical School in Chicago for nine months. Harold worked for an electrician in St. James, for seven years.
On October 16, 1950 Harold was united in marriage to Arlene Evers from Fulda. This union was blessed with five children and 71 years of marriage.
Harold and Arlene purchased Our Own Hardware Store in Kerkhoven and also started Freetly Electric in 1956. Harold retired in 1986 and sold the electrical business to his son, Tom.
Harold was active in the Kerkhoven Fire Department for 22 years, and Chief for 15 years. He was an American Legion Commander and active member since 1956. Harold also assisted with the Lion’s Club, Saddle Club, Commercial Club, Elks Club, golf course, and swimming pool. He could “fix” anything and made friends wherever he was. Harold’s hobbies included flying as a private pilot, elk hunting, golfing and dancing. He and Arlene enjoyed many summers at their cabin on Games Lake. They also enjoyed traveling throughout the U.S and Europe. After retirement, they spent 34 years as Winter Texans, in Donna, Texas and helped tutor elementary students there. Harold was never one to sit still and was always looking for the next project. He loved helping people in need and any family member that had a project to get done. He was ready to strap on the tools and get it done. His moto: You rest, you rust!
In the spirit of giving, Harold made the decision to donate his body to the University of Minnesota Anatomy Bequest Program for medical research and education.
Harold is survived by his loving wife, Arlene; children: Lynn (James) Dykema of Kerkhoven, Paula Freetly of New London, Tom (Tami) Freetly of Kerkhoven, David (Leann) Freetly of Danvers, and Dawn (Peter Gaetz) of Sunburg; grandchildren: Cortney Lundberg, Ashley Dykema, Tiffany Jans, Taylor Freetly, Brenna Hatlestad and Rylan Hatlestad; and five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings: Betty Krogman of Marshall, Jerry Freetly of Rochester, Shirley Benson of Pelican Rapids, Bob Freetly of Farmington and Kay Van Oort of Lindstrom.
He was preceded in death by his parents, infant sister, and sister, Coletta.
Memorials will be donated to the Hillside Cemetery Association.

Ruby was born January 16, 1929, in Willmar, the daughter of John and Deta (Van Buren) Knoll. She grew up in Willmar, attended Willmar Junior High and graduated from Willmar High School. She then attended Teacher’s Training in Litchfield, teaching two years in country school. She began a lifelong love for God expressed in music at First Covenant Church beginning in high school. She directed various choirs, teaching many children, played the piano and served as an organist for many years.
She was united in marriage to John Teigland on March 14, 1953 at First Covenant Church. They raised four daughters, Rachel, Jeanne, Lois and Mary. She was most thankful for her children completing their education and went on to serve others. She was especially grateful to God for her children who chose to love God with their musical and artistic abilities. Her love of learning multiplied around her to all who wanted to learn. Her love of artistic endeavors produced quilts, clothes, knitted and crocheted products, handiwork, and many lovely paintings. Her home was always full of children enjoying baked goods, craft projects, games, songs, musical endeavors and all sorts of pets.
Ruby gardened and enjoyed all kinds of vegetables and flowers. From that, all kinds of foods and a love for good recipes emerged. Many children were inspired to continue learning something they had begun to learn in her home.
She is survived by her daughters: Rachel (Dan) Anderson, Jeanne (Mike) Kroeker, Lois (Mark) Lattimore and Mary Abrahamson; six grandchildren: Jon (Jess) Anderson, Mychal (Courtney) Anderson, Katrina (Chris) Bentley, Lauren (Isaac) Damhof, Ian (Lily) Hook, Alex (Kayla) Lattimore; several great grandchildren; and her sister, Marilyn Hanson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, John, on October 25, 2016, and brother, Albert Knoll.

Robert Glenn Morin was born December 30, 1931, in Burke, South Dakota, to Anthony and Hazel (Stevick) Morin.  His family later moved to Georgeville, MN and Bob graduated from Belgrade High School.  In 1952, he was inducted into the U.S. Army and served in Germany during the Korean War.  On April 6, 1953, he married Alice Peterson at First Lutheran Church of Norway Lake.  They made their home in Sunburg, where they operated Bob’s Corner Store until 1975.  They later moved to Lake Andrew and to Willmar in 1992.  Bob worked as a carpenter for many years until his retirement at the age of 73.
Bob was a member of Word of Faith Family Church in Willmar and a former member of the Willmar V.F.W.  He enjoyed fishing, trapping and hunting.
He is survived by his wife, Alice; two daughters, Vicki Asche of Alexandria, MN, and Sheree (Chris) Shipley of Wyoming, IL; seven grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.  Also surviving are a sister, Patsy Netland; two sisters-in-law, Joan Morin and Jan Morin; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Steven Morin; a son-in-law, David Asche; and three brothers, Lloyd Morin, Don Morin, and Merle Morin.

Joan was born November 18, 1949, in Willmar, the daughter of Darrell and Jean (Cleary) Bennewitz.  Being the daughter of a Great Northern Railroad Executive (BNSF), her family moved to Whitefish, MT, in 2nd grade, St. Paul, MN in the 9th grade and back to Willmar for her senior year where she graduated from Willmar High School in 1967.
After attending the University of Minnesota, Joan returned to Willmar and began her professional career at the Bank of Willmar.  In 1982 Joan became the face of ACMC Health (Carris Health), offering a warm welcome to everyone who walked through the door until she retired in 2015.  The only thing more remarkable than Joan’s work ethic was her impeccable smile, class, grace, and fashion sense. Even in her last days, Joan’s hair, makeup, and nails were flawless.
In 1972 she married the love of her life, Mark J. Roth.  After spending their life serving the community and raising two sons in Willmar, the Roth’s moved to Florence, AZ, in 2015.  They made many friends and even more memories in their new community.  After Mark passed away in August of 2021, Joan moved to Wayzata, MN, to be closer to family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her sons, Justin (Andriana) and Aaron (Lori); grandsons, Teddy (16), Luka (8), Milan (6) and Niko (7 months); her brother, Jim (Char) Bennewitz of Spicer and sister, Jane (Gary) Zehnder of Brooklyn Park.

Hazel E. Caskey - July 07, 1921 - April 22, 2022

Hazel was born July 7, 1921, in Lake Andrew Township, Kandiyohi County, MN, the daughter of Anders and Matilda (Nelson) Sakariason.  She was the youngest of 11 children.  She grew up on the family farm on the south shore of Lake Andrew and received her education in District 8, rural New London.  Hazel was baptized and confirmed at Lebanon Lutheran Church.  She farmed with her family and brother, Carl, raising cows, hogs and poultry until her marriage.
On April 4, 1953, she was united in marriage to Raymond T. Caskey at Lebanon Lutheran Church.  They made their home on a 160-acre farm near Priam, where they raised various crops.  They built their own farm buildings for their farrow to finish hog operation, having as many as 700 hogs.  She always enjoyed caring for the baby pigs and working as a farm wife. Raymond passed away in 1983.  Hazel continued to live on the farm with the help of her sons and helping Bill with his cabinetry work.  In 1990 she moved into a new home in Raymond where flower gardening, quilting, traveling, baking and visiting with family and friends became fun things to do.  She made hundreds of quilts on her own besides those made with relatives, friends, and church.   Traveling mainland USA, Alaska, Hawaii, Norway, Sweden, and Denmark were great ad ventures for her.
She is survived by her son, William (Kathleen) Caskey of Raymond; grandsons, Zachary and Jordan; sister-in-law, Delores Caskey of Willmar and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Besides her husband, Raymond, she was preceded in death by her parents, son, Glen; four brothers: Carl, Eddie (Bernice), Martin (LaVerne), Paul (Esther); six sisters: Anna (Thomas) Tollefson, Esther (Hans) Johnson, Mabel (Harry) Berg, Nellie (Christian) Peterson, Dora (Otto) Henschien, Clara (Johnny) Gjelhaug, as well as many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
The family would like to thank the staff at Carris Health Care Center and Therapy Suites for the care she received for the past three years.  Thank you also to the neighbors and friends for everything you have done for Hazel over the years. A special thank you to Pastor Wayne Kopitzke for the many visits.  We are most grateful for Hazel’s 100 years, her many blessings and the promise of salvation through his son, Jesus.

Katherine was born December 11, 1954, in Willmar, Minnesota, the daughter of Clarence and Edna (Folkerts) Hirman.  She grew up in Raymond, was baptized and confirmed at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Raymond and graduated from Raymond High School in 1972.  Following high school, she moved to Willmar.
On September 15, 1979, she was united in marriage to Tom Ahrenholz at St. Clara’s Catholic Church.  They moved to the cities, living in Savage and Chaska.  To this union a daughter, McKenzie was born.  She worked a variety of jobs while living in the cities but will be remembered by many who frequented Perkins in Chaska where she waitressed for many years.
Her family recalls her Converse tennis shoe collection, her love of purple and Jackson Browne.  Even though she struggled at times in her life, Katherine was proud of her 12year Sobriety Medallion.  She was often an inspiration to others helping them with their own sobriety.
Katherine is survived by her daughter, McKenzie Anderson of Savage; grandchildren, Madisson, Jeremiah and Maxwell; siblings: Duaine (Diane) Hirman of Newport, TN; Stan (Diann) Hirman of Sauk Centre; Gary (Rosemary) Hirman of Big Lake; Darrell (Barb) Hirman of Maple Lake; Mike (Sandi) Hirman of Litchfield; Brad Hirman of Minneapolis; sisters-in-law, Trena Hirman of Clara City; Bev Hirman of Raymond and Vicki Bohnen of Eagan; along with numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends; and son-in-law, Timothy Anderson of Savage.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Gene, John, Lloyd and Dennis: and a sister, Gloria, in infancy.

He was a member of Plymouth Covenant Church where he was confirmed in 2001.
Surviving are his mother, Heidi Allen, of Crystal; brothers, Brett and Benjamin; grandmothers, Bonnie Radermacher of Willmar and Patty Butler of Sartell; aunts Tarra Levine of Sartell, Vicky Dean of Litchfield, Kathy Olson of Litchfield, Paula Allen of Grove City and uncle Aaron (Lindsey) Guetter of Burnsville and numerous cousins, great aunts and great uncles.

Marlo Thomas Zimmerman was born August 30, 1951, in Montevideo to Frank and Hazel (Ryan) Zimmerman. He was baptized and later confirmed in the Catholic faith. Marlo attended school in Appleton where he graduated from high school. Following his graduation, he and his parents moved to Willmar where Marlo started working at Kindle Hope. He eventually started working at West Central Industries where he operated a saw and disassembled wood pallets. He loved working at WCI and making friends with his co-workers and other staff. Marlo also enjoyed trains, bicycles, telling stories and watching movies. He had between 2,000-3,000 DVDs! He could be spotted riding his bike all over town and buying ice cream for his friends whenever he could. Marlo would often ride his bicycle to the railroad station where he would watch the trains and also visit with the railroaders. Marlo was a people person and took every chance he could to take a picture with a friend. He was a loving son, brother, uncle and friend.  Marlo was the first client of Divine House.  He was very independent and lived on his own.  Marlo’s niece, Mary, who was employed by Divine House, took care of him the last twenty years of his life.
Marlo is survived by his brothers: LeRoy (Ruthie) Zimmerman of Kansas City, MO, and Will Zimmerman of Edina. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings: Deloris, Marvin, Delmar, Lucy, and Jim; and two nephews.

Obituary Preview: Evelyn M. (Solie) Hagen, 97, of Willmar, went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, April 12, 2022, at Bethesda Grand Nursing Home in Willmar. Evelyn was born on July 23, 1924, in Crookston, MN, to Burnet and Gladys Solie.  On August 18, 1945, she married Albert Hagen in Crookston, MN.  The couple farmed in Scandia Township near Beltrami until 1961 when they moved to Crookston.  A few years after Albert passed away, Evelyn moved to Willmar in 1981.  Evelyn was employed by Quality Cleaners and Cargill elevators in Crookston and Schwegman’s Cleaners in Willmar, retiring in 1996.
She is survived by a daughter: Ardis (David) Aaker of Willmar, MN; daughter-in-law: Shirley Hagen of Grand Forks, ND; brother: Burt (Betty) Solie of Duncan, OK; brother-in-law: Lloyd Herberg of Babbitt, MN; five grandchildren: Rhonda (Rick) Klein of Willmar, MN, Mike (Missy) Aaker of Willmar, MN, Todd (Pam) Hagen of Mandan, ND, Tammy (Mike) Reimler of Rogers, MN, and Tim (Mary) Hagen of Excelsior, MN; nine great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and special family friend: Linda Hagen.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Albert; a son: Arlin; one brother; two sisters; and two infant sisters.

Carolyn was born September 23, 1937, in Clara City, Minnesota, the daughter of Helmer and Carrie (Ryks) Negen.  She grew up on a farm and attended school in Clara City.  She was united in marriage to Paul Viss in Georgia.  Following their marriage, they lived in Willmar and later moved to Hancock where they raised their six boys.  She was active in the Hancock Christian Reformed Church.  Throughout her life, Carolyn worked a variety of jobs, including cooking at the Country Kitchen in Morris and also did housekeeping and housecleaning for different families.  Paul and Carolyn moved back to Willmar following their retirement.  They enjoyed traveling for several years with their fifth wheel camper and motorhome and later enjoyed spending several winters in Arizona.  In April of 2017, Paul and Carolyn moved to Trail Ridge, a retirement community in Sioux Falls, to be closer to family.
Carolyn enjoyed making beautiful quilts and giving them to her family, giving each grandchild one for high school graduation.  She also enjoyed gardening, canning, cleaning, crocheting, and embroidery.  Visiting with family and friends, and playing cards and other games was another favorite pastime.
Surviving are her husband, Paul; sons: Barton (Julie) Viss of Sioux Falls, SD; Jackson of Sauk Rapids, MN; Joel (Margaret) Viss of Chatfield, MN; Todd (Kim) Viss of Merced, CA; Eric (Unsuk) Viss of Susanville, CA; and daughter-in-law, Bonita Viss of Talmoon, MN; eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.  Also surviving are her sister, Alma Blom of Willmar; and sister-in-law, Joyce (Joe) VanDerKwaak of Terrace, BC; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and in-laws, she was preceded in death by her son, Bradley, in 2012; granddaughter, Hannah, in 1985;  brother, Hank (Reka) Negen, and sisters, Helen (George) Fuls, Rena (Fred) Asche, and Jeanette (Chuck) Hubers.  She was also preceded in death by her nieces, Marlys Ruis and Karen Viss, nephews, Danny Hubers, James Viss and Jerry Asche, and sister-in-law, Norma Viss and brothers-in-law, Norman Viss and Alvin Blom.

Her Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 8, at Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at St. Aloysius Cemetery in Olivia.
Jean Ardell Serbus was born March 6, 1933, in Hector, Minnesota, to Merwyn and Helen (Jacobson) Sheesley. She grew up in Fairfax and graduated from Fairfax High School in 1951. Jean then worked for a few years as a legal secretary in the Twin Cities, where she met William Serbus, Jr. They were married on September 4, 1952, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bechyn. They made their home on the Serbus family farm in Henryville Township, Renville County, where Bill farmed and operated a machine shop. Jean was an excellent homemaker; cooking fabulous meals, baking delicious goodies, and keeping an amazingly clean home. Following Bill’s death in 1997, Jean moved to Willmar, where she worked at the West Central Tribune and served samples at CashWise Foods.
While living on the farm, Jean was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bechyn and later St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Olivia. She was active on the altar society and served many church dinners. After moving to Willmar, she became a member of the Church of St. Mary. She was also active at the Willmar Senior Center and with the widows’ support group.
Jean enjoyed taking bus trips, visiting casinos and wintering in Arizona for several years. She loved spending time with her family and friends; and especially enjoyed playing cards with Kitty, Irene and Ginny, and her annual school shopping trips with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her three sons: Terry (Val) Serbus of Olivia, MN, Randy (Sarah) Serbus of Phoenix, AZ, and Brad (Rose) Serbus of Willmar; three grandchildren: Tiffany (Andy) Serbus-Gustaveson and their daughter Vivienne, Joshua (Toni) Serbus, and Kassidy (Andrew) Carriger and their son Jackson; two stepgrandsons: David Keith and Joe Keith; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Merwyn and Helen Sheesley; and her husband: William Serbus, Jr.

Verna was born in Crosby, ND, the daughter of Albert and Ardella (Thompson) Boutin.  She first lived in Brooten where she attended elementary school and later graduated from Willmar High School in 1942.  Following high school, Verna moved with her sisters, Delores and Mary Lou, and friend, Betty, to Seattle where she worked for Boeing as an electrician on the B-29 Bombers during WW II.
In 1946, she was united in marriage to Marvin Skaalerud in St. Paul.  They lived in Willmar where Verna was able to stay home and raise her children.  Marvin, having been injured during WW II, passed away on June 23, 1963.
She was a wonderful cook and baker, and always enjoyed hosting her family to the cabin on Sundays.  Playing cards on Saturday nights with her siblings was a favorite pastime but more than anything, Verna was committed to her children and grandchildren, doing whatever it took to help them and to care for them.
Surviving are her children: Gene (Tess) Skaalerud of Redding, CA, Mary Jo (Tom Goergen) Skaalerud of Willmar, Bob (Jane) Skaalerud of Willmar, Jeff (Mary Jane) Skaalerud of Willmar, Gregg (Fatima) Skaalerud of Tucson, AZ and Janae Langhoff of St. Cloud; 15 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.  Also surviving is her sister, Cheryl (Roger) Elfrink of Mankato and sister-in-law, Bev Boutin of St. Peter.
Besides her husband, Marvin, she was preceded in death by her her parents and siblings: Albert, Ward, Loren, Delores, Mary Lou, Ronald, and Dallas.

Deanna Allamay Olson was born November 1, 1938, to Wallace “Bud” and Delores (Kirk) Doty in New London Township. She grew up in the New London-Spicer area and then on the family farm by Belgrade. In October of 1955, Deanna married Alvin Schaeffer. They lived in Yankton, SD. During this time Deanna stayed at home and raised their children. They later divorced. In 1966, Deanna married Duane Olson and they made their home in Willmar. When Deanna was in her 50’s she attended Ridgewater Community College. Later in life Deanna started working at the Kandi Cupboard in Willmar, and also volunteered at Goodwill. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, crocheting and embroidery. She also enjoyed listening to music, especially the oldies. Deanna loved family get togethers and also rescuing cats.
Deanna is survived by her children: Steven Olson of Asheville, NC, Roger Schaeffer of Willmar, Debra Olson of Brooklyn Park, Daniel Schaeffer of Coon Rapids, Rita Jeanne Vadner of Paynesville, Scott Olson of Loveland, CO, and Robin McCormack of Willmar; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings: Donay Doty, Lana Doll and Kristen Doty.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and brother, David Doty.

Darlene Ardyce Holmgren was born at home in Waseca on October 8, 1939, to Arthur Walter and Myrtle Clara (Redeske) Leslie. She was baptized at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Otisco, and confirmed her faith at Grace Lutheran Church in Waseca. She grew up in Waseca where she attended country school before graduating from Waseca High School with the Class of 1957. She continued her education in Minneapolis where she studied to be a secretary. On May 7, 1960, Darlene was united in marriage to Douglas Holmgren at Grace Lutheran Church in Waseca, where they continued to live.  In 1962, Darlene and Doug moved to Pennock where they made their home. Darlene started working for Willmar Municipal Utilities until her first child was born. To this union four children were born: Selina, Wanda, Steven and Duane. She then helped Doug on the farm, tending to the chickens, calves and horses, among many other things. She enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, crocheting, and gardening. Darlene was also very involved with her church women’s group, ARC, home extension group and she was a 4-H Leader. She was a loving wife, mom, grandma and friend.
Darlene is survived by her husband, Douglas of Pennock; children: Selina (Bill) Berning of Litchfield and their children: Brittney (Chad Jaber) and Nicole; Wanda Holmgren of Faribault and her children: Sigrid, Hazel and Metta; Steven Holmgren of Willmar; and Duane (Brianna) Holmgren of Pennock and their children: Emma, Lily, Brinley and Jase; and cousin, Donna Hildebrandt of Waseca.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers-in-law Robert Holmgren and Keith Holmgren, niece Denise Holmgren and cousins: Cynthia (Howard) Paulsen, and Robert Tetzloff.

Steven Dale Hillenbrand was born July 21, 1956, to Roger and Judith (Sorenson) Hillenbrand in Willmar. He attended elementary school at Goldenrod in Willmar before graduating from Willmar High School in 1974. Following high school, he attended Willmar Area Vocational Institute where he studied Automotive and Diesel Mechanics. After completing his degrees, Steve worked as a vehicle mechanic at Ford Garage in Lake Lillian. He then drove semi across the country for one year before working 17 years with Anderson Crane as a Crane Operator. The next 25 years of his career were spent at the Willmar Municipal Utilities where he started as a coal handler and eventually became the lead of the meter department until he retired in 2019.
On June 24, 1978, Steve was united in marriage to Patricia Butler at Calvary Lutheran Church. They were blessed with two children: Ryan and Tracy. They lived in Willmar for 18 years before moving to their home south of Kandiyohi. Steve enjoyed fixing and selling anything with an engine. He spent most of his time fixing cars, motorcycles, and lawn mowers. He loved teaching and sharing his hobbies with his kids, such as: operating heavy equipment, boating, four-wheeling, car shows, motorcycles, and most importantly helping others. He never missed a chance to demonstrate his gift of gab over a cup of coffee with friends.
Steve is survived by his wife, Patricia of Kandiyohi; children: Ryan Hillenbrand of Willmar and Tracy Hillenbrand of West Fargo, ND; granddaughter, Jaydalyn Lilia Hillenbrand; his mother, Judy Hillenbrand; and good friend, Greg Doerr.
He was preceded in death by his father, Roger Hillenbrand, and the brother he never had, Uncle Rodney.

James Edward Iverson was born August 5, 1934, to Edwin Oscar and Elnora “Nora” (Anderson) Iverson in Clarkfield, Minnesota. He grew up in Clarkfield, graduating from Clarkfield High School in 1952. He spent his youth working in his father’s blacksmith shop and taking care of the family farm.    After graduating high school, Jim moved to Willmar with his parents and joined his uncle in the plastering trade. He enlisted in the US Army where he served from 1957-1959 as an Army Intelligence courier in Germany, transporting classified and top secret materials throughout Europe during the Cold War. After his honorable discharge, he returned to Willmar where he continued doing plaster and sheetrock projects for housing contractors in Willmar and the surrounding area. It was a hard, physical work and he took great pride in the quality of what he did.  On July 30, 1960, James was united in marriage to Mary Dailey at Church of St. Mary in Willmar. They soon had a family, raising Stephen, Cathy, and Thomas. Jim loved to travel and took the family on many adventures from the Black Hills of South Dakota to the Ozark Mountains in Missouri, from Hollywood, California to Disney World in Florida.   As the kids grew older, Jim and Mary enjoyed visiting Europe together.  Jim was never far from a lake and found happiness in the solitude of fishing. He enjoyed camping and hiking with his family.  They took annual vacations to the North Shore of Lake Superior, where they would hunt for agates, that Jim would polish and share with family and friends.  Following Mary’s death in 2002, Jim reconnected with DiAnn Copps, a family friend in 2004.  Jim and DiAnn developed a loving companionship together that endured to the end of his life. They continued to travel the country, visiting family and friends while enjoying places like the Balloon Fiesta in New Mexico, the Redwood Forests of California, and the Grand Canyon in Arizona.  He enjoyed the little things in life, reading spy novels, playing cards, feeding the birds and squirrels in his backyard, traveling to new places, and most of all, fishing. He was a loving husband, dad, grandpa, friend, and fisherman.
Jim is survived by his loving companion, DiAnn Copps of Willmar; children: Stephen (Connie) Iverson of Lawrenceville, GA, Cathy (Scott) Regnier of Wyoming, MN, and Thomas (Rhonda) Iverson of Zumbrota, MN; three grandchildren; sister, Esther Grimm; and sister-in-law, Penny Johnson.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Iverson, parents, and siblings: Rhoda Iverson, Allen Iverson, Mayo Iverson, Alice Adamson, Wayne Iverson, and Carol Crosby.

Harriet Evelyn Peterson was born August 30, 1923, to Peter and Anna (Westrud) Erickson in Lake Johanna Township. She attended country school in Lake Johanna. Harriet married Orrin Peterson on December 27, 1941, in Pope County. Following their marriage, they moved to Texas where Orrin was stationed while serving. He eventually got deployed to Germany during WWII, during this time Harriet moved to Glenwood. They moved to Willmar in 1953, where they made their home. Orrin and Harriet owned and operated North Star Filling Station. When not helping at the filling station, Harriet stayed at home and raised their children. Harriet enjoyed rummage sales, antiques, crafting, baking and making quilts for her grandchildren.
Harriet is survived by her children: Larry (Merry) Peterson of Hutchinson, Judy (Bruce) Kastel of Spencer, IA, Jim (Bobbie) Peterson of Willmar, Penny (Kevin) Shaw of Osakis, and Jeffrey (Robin) Peterson of Land O’ Lakes, FL; 10 grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 12 step-great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers-in-law, Wayne Peterson of Fontana, CA, and Gordon Hollen of Glenwood and many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Orrin, parents, siblings: Pearl Danielson, Herbert Erickson, and Phillip Erickson.

Her funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 25, at the Open Door Christian Church in Spicer with lunch to follow at the church's North 40 Campus.  Interment will be at Hillside Cemetery in Kerkhoven.  Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday, March 24, at Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.
Lynne Marie Lottman was born April 27, 1953, in Wood Lake, Minnesota, the daughter of Frank and Marie (Carrigan) Kiklas.  She grew up in Wood Lake and graduated from Wood Lake High School in 1971.  She attended St. Cloud State University for a year and then cosmetology training, which she completed in 1973.  On January 27, 1973, she married Steven Lottman in Cottonwood, Minnesota and they celebrated their anniversary monthly for the past 589 months.  They lived in Rogers for a few years before moving to a farm near Kerkhoven for 23 years.  While on the farm, Lynne was awarded the 1st State Young Farm Wife Award in 1977 and was active with Farm Bureau.  They later moved to Willmar for 21 years and lived the last four years in the home on Nest Lake.  Lynne was self-employed for 49 years, working as beautician, photographic art specialist, receptionist, bookkeeper, rental landlord, and peacekeeper.   In addition to working, she was an excellent homemaker, wonderful cook and baker, and gifted at knitting and crochet.
Lynne was always active with her church, and served on the women’s committees and was active in Bible Study wherever she was attending.  She also served as a Luther League Advisor and church secretary at Kerkhoven Lutheran, as music director at Kerkhoven Evangelical Free, and later was active at Willmar Evangelical Free Church.  She was currently a member of the Willmar Bible Church.
Lynne enjoyed singing, playing piano, entertaining friends, playing cards, reading, and fishing.  She also enjoyed watching sports of all kinds, especially the NBA.  She and Steve were night owls and would often stay up watching movies while holding hands.  Lynne was a great teacher and the epitome of a servant, always giving her time to God and her family.
She is survived by her husband: Steven; two children: Leah Lottman of Spicer, MN and Matthew (Holly) Lottman of Pine River, MN; seven grandchildren: Colten (Emily) Carlson, Clay Carlson (fiance Olivia Corneil), Jack Kreps, Kallie Kreps, Lydia Kreps, Odin Lottman, and Breck Lottman; a sister: MaryLee McCain of Waseca, MN; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister: Cheryl Kiklas; a brother: Jerome Kiklas; and a brother-in-law: Don McCain.

Elaine was born December 5, 1931, in Canby, MN. She grew up in Canby and graduated from Odessa High School .  She was united in marriage to Raymond Doney May 5, 1951 at Fort Rucker, Alabama.  To this union two children were born, Bruce and James. Before moving to Willmar, Elaine owned and operated Doney Jewelry in Ortonville.  After moving to Willmar, Elaine worked as a housekeeper for area hotels throughout her life as well as Church of St. Mary.
She is survived by her son, Bruce; grandchildren, Christopher (Noemi Lopez) Doney and Nicole (Ryan) Meints; great grandchildren, Caden and Logan Meints; her sisters: Gloria Ennenga, Loralee (Joe) Reiter, and Lorraine (Don) Hahn; as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henrietta and Cecil Miller, son, James Michael, and brothers, Lyle Bresson, Sr., and John Miller.

Joyce was born December 1, 1935, the daughter of Albert and Lucille (Cool) Beauchamp at Westhope, ND.  She was the oldest of four girls and grew up in the Newburg area where she received her education and graduated from Newburg High School in 1953 as its Valedictorian.
While attending a Bible conference, Joyce found out that she was a sinner and needing salvation and later trusted Christ as her Saviour sitting in her grandfather's car in front of the Gospel Hall on June 16, 1946, in Valley City, ND.
Following graduation, she went back to Valley City and worked as a bookkeeper for Olson Motors and Haverstock Motors, an Oldsmobile and Cadillac Dealer.
On June 22, 1957, she was united in marriage to Donald Wagar at The Gospel Hall in Valley City and to this union four children were born: Scott, Linda, Bonnie and Rebecca.  They moved to Willmar in October of 1963.  Being a mother was her greatest reward.  It gave her much joy in raising her special needs daughter, Bonnie.  She enjoyed art and made many scripture texts for Gospel Halls. She even made some in foreign languages and sent some to Russia and Chile.  Many will remember her hospitality and being entertained in her home.  Following the meal, Bibles were passed out and scripture was read.  Her love for the  Lord was evident as she played the piano and Christians gathered around to sing hymns.  She took great joy in entertaining the Lord's Servants when they came to Willmar.
Joyce fellowshipped with the Christians that Gathered to the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ in Willmar until a stroke prevented her from attending.  Joyce will be missed by her husband, Don; children, Scott (Patricia) Wagar, Linda (William) Lavery, and Rebecca (Mike) Jaenisch; 13 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren.  Also surviving are her sisters, Margie Chill and Gayle Pederson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Bonnie, and sister, Peggy Groothuis.
