Cindy was born Saturday, November 16, 1957 in Rutherford County to the late Jimmy Dobbins and Martha Banning Keyser. Cindy worked as a cashier for Deb’s Mini Mart and in textiles for many years. She was of the Methodist faith and was kind and loving to all. She had a huge sense of humor and her passion in life was her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, who raised her, Lawrence Bradley.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Ricky James Brown and Brandy Duncan both of Forest City; brothers, Leroy Dobbins of Forest City, Jimmy Dobbins (Pam) of Lancaster, SC and David Bradley (Tammy) of Forest City; sisters, Kandy Crosby (Ron) Greer, SC and Kristie Bradley of Mooresboro; sisters-in-law, Carol Catoe of Bostic, Dale Dobbins of Rutherfordton and a host of nieces and nephews.

Obituary Preview: Bryant “Bird” Greene, age 52, of Forest City, passed away, Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills.
Bryant was born May 16, 1970 in Rutherford County to Ben Moore, Sr. who resides in Spartanburg and the late Laura Mae Greene. He was a graduate of Chesnee High School, class of 1989. Bryant worked at the Owl’s Nest and for Valley Fine Foods for several years. Bryant was a member of High Shoal Baptist Church. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed watching drag racing and was a dedicated North Carolina Tar Heel fan. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by an uncle, David Greene and aunts, Carolyn Greene and Shirley Thompson.
Besides his father, those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Melissa Greene; daughter, Makayla Weathers of Dobbinsville; grandchild, Toni Jackson; brothers, Scott Greene (Rita) of Spindale and Ben Moore, Jr. of Polk County; sisters, Linda Williams of Polk County and Beverly Pryor of Greenville, SC. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, nephews and nieces which includes a special niece, Jelicia Greene.
The funeral service will be conducted at 5:00 pm on Friday, April 14th at High Shoal Baptist Church with Reverend Shane Adkins officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the church.

Leroy was born Tuesday, August 20, 1957 in Greenville, SC to the late Robert Lister and Beatrice Hawkins Lister. He worked in textiles for forty-eight years. Having worked for Mastercraft, Three Tex Mill, Cone Jacquard and Hamrick Mill. He was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed working on old cars and watching westerns. He loved his family dearly.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Dennis Lister and Wayne Lister of Greer, SC and Randall Lister of Greenville.
Those left to cherish fond memories include his wife of thirty-two years, Brenda Dixon Lister; children, Tonya Bradshaw (Kevin) of Greer, SC and Todd Lister of Easley, SC; stepchildren, Dewayne Brackett of Bostic, Bobby Brackett of Forest City and April Brackett of Spindale; brother, Carl “Jim” Lister (Pat) of Campobello, SC; sisters, Sherry Jackson (Steve) of Taylors, SC, Karen Reeves (Jim) of Landrum, SC and Sharon Sanders (Johnny) of Greenville, SC. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Thursday, April 13th with Reverend Ernie Cole officiating. Interment will follow at Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Earl was born Wednesday, May 21, 1924 in Swain County, NC to the late Fred Estes and Gertrude Anthony Estes. He worked as a pipeline welder for Piedmont Natural Gas for twenty years and a machinist for Harper Corporation of America. He also served in the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) for several years. Earl was a member of Florence Baptist Church and a part of the Masonic Lodge in Charlotte. He enjoyed working outdoors and especially vegetable gardening.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Janice Wagoner; stepson, Donald Malcolm; five sisters and two brothers.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of thirty years, Gladys Hall Estes; daughter, Cynthia Romeis of Charlotte; stepsons, Gary Malcolm (Susan) of Ellenboro, Daniel Malcolm of Rutherfordton, Timothy Malcolm (Teresa) of Harris; sisters, Nora Womack and Zora Pippert both of Marion. He is also survived by ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, April 11th at Florence Baptist Church with Reverend Daniel Selman officiating. Entombment will follow in the mausoleum at Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 1:45 pm in the church auditorium prior to the service.

Barbara served as a foster parent for several years. She was a member of Plainview Baptist Church and enjoyed arranging flowers, gardening and spending time outdoors. She always loved the time she spent with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Williams.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Jimmy Ray Hardin, Jr. (Donna) of Cliffside; grandchildren, Jason Hardin, John Hardin and Jessica Hardin; nine great-grandchildren; brother, Gary Clark (Nell) of Piedmont, SC; two nephews and a niece.

Carolyn was born Wednesday, November 10, 1943 in Rutherford County to the late Bert Lowery and Mary Frances Kennedy Lowery. She was a graduate of Chase High School, class of 1962. Carolyn faithfully worked as a teacher’s assistant for various local schools for twenty-six years. She was a dedicated homemaker who loved spending time with her family. She especially enjoyed hosting family gatherings. Carolyn was a member of Floyd’s Creek Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Bob Lowery, Bo Lowery and her twin brother, Honey Lowery. She was also preceded by her sister, Patsy Thomas.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of sixty-one years, Joe Hall; son, David Hall of Forest City; brother, Don Lowery of Forest City; sister, Helen Lowery of Forest City and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 pm Monday, April 3rd at Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery with Chaplain Jacob Weaver officiating and Mr. Phillip White providing the eulogy. The body will lie in state from 9:00 am until 12:00 pm on Monday at the funeral home prior to the service.

Raleigh was born Tuesday, February 2, 1937 in Rutherford County to the late Jack Godfrey and Bertha Adair Godfrey. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Raleigh worked at Cone Mills for many years and enjoyed fishing, hunting and yardwork.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of over sixty years, Betty Godfrey.
Survivors include his daughters, Wanda Sharp of Forest City and Teresa Pruitt (Cleve) of Ellenboro; brothers, Roy Lee Godfrey (Joyce) of Chesnee and Bobby Godfrey (Florence) of Hickory. He is also survived by four grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.
In honor of Raleigh’s wishes, no formal services will be conducted. Interment will take place at Eternal Hills Memorial Park.

Frank was born August 25, 1933 in Rutherford County to the late Hubert Holtzclaw and Lola Toms Holtzclaw Pruitt. He worked at Cone Mills-Cliffside for forty-seven years and four months and was a lifetime member of the Cliffside Masonic Lodge #460. Frank was a board member, coach and President of the Tri-Community/Chase Little League for sixty-five years. He also coached for the Chase Youth football of fifty years. Frank was a board member of the CAFD for five years and in his earlier years, a member of the Cliffside Rescue Squad.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a stepfather, Jack Pruitt; sisters, Margaret Beam and Hazel Bagwell; brothers, Albert Holtzclaw and Henry Holtzclaw and daughter, Teresa Starr Holtzclaw.
Those left to cherish fond memories include his daughters, Denese Brown (Dennis) and Shelley Holtzclaw all of Cliffiside; son-in-law, Anthony Potlow of Cliffside; grandsons, Drannon Brown, Drew Brown (Autumn), Deven Holtzclaw (Madison), Tre’ Bristol (Analilia) and AJ Potlow (Ceara), great-grandchildren, Tucker Brown (Madison), Hunter Brown, Zander Brown, Zaelynn Brown, Owen Brown, Drayton Holtzclaw, Olivia Brown, Ashlynn Holtzclaw and great-great-grandson, Macklon Brown; sisters, Genell Henson, Betty Phillips (Tommy) and a number of nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 pm on Saturday, April 1st at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Mike Elgin and Reverend Kevin Bradley officiating. Interment will follow at Cleveland Memorial Park with Masonic Rites being observed. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 3:00 pm on Saturday prior to the service at the funeral home. At other times they will be gathered at the home of his daughter, Denese Brown, 208 Shalom Place, Mooresboro.
The body will lie in state from 9:00 am until service time on Saturday.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of forty-eight years, Christa Murray Ingle; brothers, Roy, Jimmy and Jerry Ingle and his sister, Judy Ingle.
Those left to cherish his memory include two sons, Michael Ingle and Jody Ingle (Heidi) all of Henrietta; daughter, Angel West (Jeff) of Forest City; a brother, Ricky Ingle (Marie) of Henrietta; sister, Jeanette Arrowood (Charles) of Henrietta; sister-in-law, Helen Ingle of Sandy Mush; six grandchildren, Hanna Whitaker (Tyler), Brentlee Teseniar (Tim), Miranda Ingle, Marisa Randolph (Tobin), Baylee MacCallum (Logan) and Madison Ingle; five great-grandchildren, Kase Whitaker, Sophie Teseniar, Wrenn Whitaker, Reece Ledford and Royce Ledford.

Doug was born Monday, November 14, 1966 in Lincolnton, NC. He had a passion for the outdoors and enjoyed experiencing the beauty of nature. Doug was a dedicated horticulturist and also loved tending to his animals. One of his greatest achievements was hiking the entire Appalachian Trail (A.T.).
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Ben and JoJo Rappe.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of twenty-two years, Dawn L. Nantz; his mother, Jeannie Hester Jackson and her husband, Tom of Stallings, NC; father, Perry Nantz of Mooresville, NC; sister, Wendi Nantz of Charlotte and a nephew, Dylan Nantz.

Melissa was born Friday, September 16, 1960 in Lakeland, Florida to the late Ray Bridges and Jewel Hensley Lackey. She was a graduate of East Rutherford High School, class of 1978 and a 1982 graduate of Gardner-Webb University. She was a member of the Full Throttle Biker Church. Melissa served as the church secretary for Campfield Memorial Baptist Church and Race Path Baptist Church for many years. She enjoyed riding motorcycles, spending time with her family (especially her grandchildren), going on annual beach trips and attending county fairs. She loved her motorcycle family and her church family dearly.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Guy Lackey; an infant son, Ethan Michael Gettys and her brother, Mike Bridges.
Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband of forty years, Mike Gettys; daughter, Amy Murray (Adam); sons, Jason Gettys and Matthew Gettys all of Ellenboro; three precious grandchildren, Addison Murray, Anslee Murray and Kimberly Gettys.
The funeral service will be conducted at 4:00 pm on Wednesday, March 22nd at the Full Throttle Biker Church. Interment will follow in Campfield Memorial Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 2:30 until 4:00 pm prior to the services at the church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, John Herman Roach, Jr. and Steve Roach.
Survivors include three nephews, John D. Roach (Marie) of Forest City, Mike Roach (Lisa) of Greenville, SC, Matt Roach (Elizabeth) of Pickens, SC and a niece, Patricia Roach McFarland of Hendersonville.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 22nd at the Cleveland Memorial Park Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time in the chapel.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a stepfather, Pete Smack; sons, Steven Douglas Dyer, Paul Eric Dyer and a brother, Teddy Sanders.
Survivors include her daughter, Kathy Banich (Carl Ritchie) of Kannapolis; son, Johnny Dyer of Mooresboro; grandchildren, Leah Blanton (Matthew), Jessica Baxter (Daniel), Chris Hughes (Juline); great-grandchildren, David Baxter, Mia Blanton, Levi Hughes and Maverick Blanton.
