Obituary Preview: Linda Lee (Bancroft) Williams, age 74 of Belton, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, April 26, 2022, with her daughters, Angie and Lisa by her side. Services will be held at 2 pm Saturday, April 30, 2022, at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Belton, with Pastor Sam Callaway officiating. A private burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery in Belton.
Linda was born in Des Moines, Iowa on January 6, 1948, to Howard and Virginia Bancroft. She retired from Bell County as Title clerk and then worked as the Title clerk and Assistant Office Manager at Tranum Auto Group in Temple, TX. She loved spending time with her family and her church family as well. She was a member of Anchor of Hope Baptist Church in Belton.
Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Larry, and her parents.
She is survived by her daughter, Angie Garcia and husband, Erik; daughter, Lisa Schoolcraft and husband, Rodney; daughter, April Stino and husband, Karim; stepdaughters, Carol Thomas, Lisa Suitor, and Goldie Kaiser and husband, Rick; one brother, Wayne Bancroft and wife, Carol; 17 grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren.
A time of visitation will be held from 5-7 pm Friday, April 29, 2022, at the funeral home.

Kenneth was born on November 10, 1935, to Harold Herbert and Freda (Van-y) Dees in Saginaw, Michigan. He married Malinda Ann Frizzell in 1958 and worked for the Federal Aviation Administration.
Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Freda Dees; wife, Malinda Ann Dees; and son, Jeffrey Kent Dees.
Those left to honor his memory are his sister, Jean Miller; daughter, Debra Severe; daughter, Julia Harper; and granddaughters, Emily Severe, and Katherine Severe.
Memorials may be made in his honor to the American Heart Association.

Carolyn was born on April 5, 1940, to Wes and Eva Coppin in Belton, Texas. She spent her early years working with her parents at the “Hamburger King” in downtown Belton. After high school, she met the love of her life, Bobby Don Kirk. She began working for Bell County and became the first woman Justice of the Peace. She spent the past 20 years in retirement, shopping on QVC and spoiling her extended family.
Carolyn is preceded in death by her parents, Wes and Eva Coppin.
She is survived by her husband, Bobby Don Kirk.

Dorothy was born November 26, 1932, in Silver Point, Tennessee and grew up in Tennessee and Indiana. She married Arthur B. Pemberton in 1951 in Richmond, Indiana. Her hobbies mirrored her work as she believed in service for others and was often found ministering to someone recovering from health issues. She was an active member of the Church of Christ and attended many bible studies.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur B. Pemberton; daughter, Ritha Ladina; brother, WJ; brother, Ron; brother, Frank; and sister, Margie Ruth.
Survivors include daughter, Robin Spalding (husband Ron); son, Gerald Pemberton; son, Gaylon Pemberton (wife Laura); son, Harry Pemberton (wife Hedy); son, H. Curtiss Pemberton (wife Pam); daughter, Reine Guillemette (husband Pete); son, Arthur M. Pemberton (wife Kathy); and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the International Elephant Foundation and the World Wildlife Fund.

Heidi was born on November 7, 1967, to Benjamin Hille, Jr. and Patricia (Chapman) Hille in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi. She is the 5th of 6 girls in her family. After high school, she married John Ziegeler in July of 1986. Heidi became a travel agent after school and quickly moved up to managing Corporate Travel Accounts within the US and Internationally.  Heidi graduated from the University of Incarnate Word.  The family traveled around the United States and Europe with John being in the military. They settled in San Antonio after John’s retirement and had their daughter Nadia, born in December of 2003. They moved to Gatesville for more of a country life and have been there since.
Heidi is preceded in death by her father, Benjamin Hille, Jr.; and grandparents, Irene & Ben Hille, Sr. and Mae & Arthur Chapman, Jr.

Kenneth "Pete" Wayne Brockett - March 23, 1937 - February 12, 2022

Obituary Preview: Pete, age 84, passed away on February 12, 2022, at Baylor Scott & White Hospital.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, February 18, 2022, at Bellwood Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 7:00 pm Thursday, February 17, 2022, at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Belton, Texas.
Pete was born on his family farm outside of Weinert, Texas on March 23, 1937. He grew up farming, pulling cotton bolls and hoeing fields. In High School Pete played 6-man football for the Weinert Bulldogs. It was during High School that Pete met the love of his life, Ima Jean “Imo” Decker. Pete graduated from High School in May 1955. Pete & Imo married on May 19, 1956, following her graduation from High School.
Pete and Imo settled in Odessa, Texas where Pete became an Odessa Firefighter and Paramedic serving 26 years and 7 months before he retired on March 26, 1987. He and Imo then moved back to Pete’s family farm to live and farm. Pete earned a second retirement working for The Water Authority in Munday, Texas in 1998.
Pete is a member of The Anchor of Hope Baptist Fellowship Church where he and Imo developed many great friendships and loved being part of their church.
Pete was preceded in death by his Wife, Ima “Imo” Jean Brockett on December 18, 2016; his father, George Clayton Brockett on April 20, 1999; his mother, Sarah Catherine “Susie” Brockett in January 1996; his sister, Colleen Nance on March 2, 2013; his brother, George Clayton Brockett, Jr on November 17, 2016; and his sister, Jo Coffman on September 14, 2019.
Pete is survived by two Daughters, Kim Brockett Marmon & spouse William Marmon (who Pete loved like a son) and Monica Brockett & spouse Leslie Brockett (who Pete loved like a daughter); Granddaughter, Ranee’ Gray; two Grandsons, Justin Gray and James Brockett; thirteen Great-Grandchildren; and many nephews & nieces.
Pallbearers will be Ranee’ Gray, James Brockett, Justin Gray, Austin Sosa, Clint Nance, Ricky Nance and Alternate, William Marmon.

Joe M. Garza, Sr. - November 20, 1960 - February 07, 2022

Obituary Preview: Joe M. Garza Sr., age 61 of Belton, passed away Monday, February 7, 2022 at home. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Monday, February 14, 2022, at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Belton.
Joe was born in Temple, Tx to Anastasia Garza on November 20, 1960, and was the youngest of her three children. Upon completing his education in Temple, he joined the United States Army, and proudly served as a Blackhawk Crew Chief in the 101st Airborne division. After his honorable discharge in 1982, he met and married Sylvia Garza, (née: Matamoros) of Belton, Tx, with whom he had five children. As the Gulf War broke out in the 1990’s, Joe took it upon himself to spread hope throughout the nation by waving the American flag at the 6th street overpass in Belton. He would proudly return day after day for the duration of the war and would continue this tradition throughout the next 30 years during Veteran’s Day, Memorial Day, and any other times he felt the need to inspire patriotism, including proudly standing with his flag on the morning of September 11, 2001. Joe earned his CDL and became a long-haul truck driver, traveling the country he loved for the better part of 25 years. He took great pride in his chosen path and would often delight his children by picking them up in his rig and blowing the horn to announce his arrival. Joe spent the last 20 years of his life with his loving partner, Mary Pardo of Killeen, Tx.
Joe was preceded in death by his mother in March of 1984.
He is survived by his children, Joe “Bear” Garza Jr. (Round Rock, Tx), Jennifer Garza (Austin, Tx), Megan Boggess (Dallas, Tx), Susanna “Susie” Marrero (San Marcos, Tx), and Matthew “Matty” Garza (Belton, Tx); his grandchildren, Hannah McFadden, Anderson Garza, and Brodie Garza; his brother, Luciano Gutierrez; his sister, Yolanda Garza; and his many nieces and nephews.
A time of visitation will be held from 1 – 2 pm, Monday, prior to the service, at the funeral home.

Obituary Preview: Raymond George Klein Jr., age 78, passed in peace Saturday, February 5, 2022, at Baylor Scott and White Medical Center in Temple, with family by his side. Graveside services will be held at 1 pm Saturday, February 12, 2022, at North Belton Cemetery.
Raymond was born on February 6, 1943, to Raymond and Beulah Klein in Wilson, North Carolina. He married Mary Rose Sites on July 13, 1963. Raymond was a proud veteran of the United States Army, where he earned the Bronze Star for his brave service in Vietnam. Known affectionately as ‘Tinker’ for his love of tinkering with this and that, he was always ready to give a helping hand to anyone in need. He loved and was dearly loved by his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He loved to rock hunt and make beautiful jewelry from his finds, treasure hunt with his trusty metal detector, paint, and bake, especially cookies. One of his other favorite things to do was to sit and enjoy a great cup of coffee and conversation; he loved to talk to people. Raymond (Tinker) loved dogs and always had one by his side. He was a strong man with a big heart, was loved by many, and will be greatly missed. Not a birthday went by that he didn’t belt out a happy birthday song – we will miss his songs, as he’s now singing in Heaven.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond George Klein Sr., and Beulah Lorraine Klein.

Jack was born on March 31, 1931, to Raymond & Birdie Mae (Talley) Pabst in Gonzales, Texas. He married Billie Jo Lemmons on June 15, 1951. Jack loved to fish and spend time with his family. He always had a good story to tell. He liked to travel, camp, and deer hunt. Jack ran a crane for many years and was really good at his job. Construction companies would call him when they started a new job to get him to come work for them. Jack had a very inquisitive mind. He wanted to know how things worked. He took apart our house phone once and wasn’t able to put it back together. Jack would make chili once a year. It was enough to feed the whole neighborhood and he would feed the entire street. He also greatly enjoyed being a shade tree mechanic. It made him happy to work with his hands.
Jack is preceded in death by his parents; and loving wife. He is also preceded by brothers, Charles “Buck” Pabst, and Clayton Pabst; sister, Vergie Mae Tweedle; and son, Steven Pabst.
Those left to honor his memory are his brother, Nolan Pabst of Lago Vista; sister, Irene Williamson of Marble Falls; son, Jack Pabst and wife, Wanda of Lockhart; son, Mike Pabst of Belton; daughter, Stacy Hrabal and husband, Tim of Lott; grandchildren, Shandy Pabst, Wandalyn Pabst, Billy Jack Pabst, Jacqalyn Deeds, Jennifer Richardson, Shanda Pabst, Coyie Elam, Candice Pabst, Dustin Hrabal, Josh Pabst, Colton Pabst, and Julie Hrabal; and great grandchildren, Blaze, Billie, Devan, Kaleb, Payton, Ashley, Lane, Brad, Breeley, Louis, Isaac, Morgan, Max, Parker, Emma, and Madolyn.

Robbie is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his sisters, Norma Jean Apodaca, Josephine E. Lancaster, and Judith Ann Garza; sons, Brandon Lee Garza, and Michael Robert Garza; adoptive parents, Johnny B. Garza, and Josie R. Garza; and grandson, Dominic Garza.

Obituary Preview: Marie Harvey Moore O’Neal passed away Sunday, January 23, 2022 at Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Temple, Texas. The funeral service will be on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at 2 PM at the Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Belton, Texas. Burial will be in the family plot at North Belton Cemetery.
Marie was born November 27, 1941 in Belton to James Harvey and Prudie Hoover Harvey. She was raised in Belton, Texas and later settled in Temple, Texas.
Marie graduated from Belton High School in 1960. During which she was an avid football fan and football sweetheart her senior year. Marie was an officer and/or member of various clubs such as, National Honor Society, Science Club, Future Homemakers of America, Student Leaders Club, and Student Council. She also played tennis, volleyball, softball, and speedball.
During her school years Marie had many good friends that included Jimmie Nell Daniels and Lou Titlow Miller just to name a few.
Marie was very active in Altrusa International of Temple, Texas serving on a multitude of committees specifically for the Taste of the Holidays and Caring Ball. She also was a member of the Chamber of Commerce for 15+ years and served as a Red Coat Ambassador for many years. Marie was very active with Elks Lodge #138 in Temple and served multiple years as district president of the Does until the passing of Nick Moore, Sr.
Marie was a Baptist and a proud lifetime member of the National Rifle Association. She loved her cats, Scarlett, Callie, and Savannah almost as much as she loved her husband Tom. Jamaica was her favorite destination where she loved to soak in the sun and stick her toes in the sand. Marie loved shopping trips with Amberlyn and the “girls” as well as eating oysters with an excellent Bloody Mary. She was born on Thanksgiving and loved to have a big meal each year celebrating with family and friends, and her collection of turkeys. Most of all Marie dearly loved people and the community she served.
Marie recently retired from Cornerstone Gardens as the marketing director. Prior to working there she was employed by King’s Daughters Hospital in Temple as a community relations coordinator within the marketing department and named Employee of the Year for 2004-2005. She also worked at Temple Products as a purchasing agent and Griggs Equipment Company as a secretary.
Marie is survived by her loving and dutiful husband, Tom O’Neal and her son Nicholas A. Moore, Jr of Temple, Texas and stepdaughter Gina O’Neal of Ft. Worth, Texas. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Amberlyn May Russell and Sara Faye Davis, great-grandchildren, Kadin Ray Snyder and Koltin Wayne Snyder, and several nieces and nephews who mostly live in Holland, Texas.
Marie’s mother Prudie Hoover Harvey and father James Harvey preceded her in death, as did her first husband Nicholas A. Moore, Sr. Both her beloved daughter, Vicky Marie Moore Peacock and grandson, Ethan Gregg Phillips also preceded her in death.
Memorials can be made to the Foundation of Sarcoidosis Research, 1820 W. Webster Ave., Suite 304, Chicago, IL 60614 or the Temple Community Clinic, 1905 Curtis B Elliot Dr., Temple, TX 76501. Cordelia was born on May 4, 1935, in Sulphur Springs, Texas to Alton Luther and Virgie Spangler Robinson and lived in various cities in Texas before moving to Belton. She married Marvin Lee Hale in Belton, Texas on June 14, 1952. She was a homemaker and businesswoman. She provided care to many local children, running a registered day home for many years. She also owned Snookey’s Knit Nook, sharing her love of knitting, crocheting and needlework. She loved dogs, she bred and raised Chihuahuas, Pekinese, and Yorkies.
Cordelia was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Inez Shafer, and Fronie Watson; brother, Alton Robinson; husband, Marvin Hale; significant other, Ben Neman; sons, Scotty, and Louis Hale; and granddaughter, Cecilia Hale.
She is survived by her brother, Jimmy Robinson; sisters, Ruby Hawk and Peggy Fox; son, Arthur Hale and wife, Felecia of Belton; son, David Hale and wife, Niece of Granite Shoals; daughter, Betty Sanders and husband, Scott of Austin; grandson, Brad Hale and wife, Jennifer of Hutto; grandson, Curtis Hale and wife, Shelley of Pflugerville; grandson, Daniel Hale and wife, Brandy of Temple; grandson, Michael Hale of Waco; and grandson, James Hale of Waco; granddaughter, Christina Lee and husband, Jeremy of Corpus Christi; and great grandchildren, Bryson Hale, Elizabeth Hale, Brock Hale, Scottie Hale, Bethia Hale, Randy Hale, Mark Hale, Alex Hale, Serenity Hale, Cordelia Lee, and Anakin Lee.

Joe was born on January 15, 1939, in Fredericksburg, Texas to Jeff and Corinne Richards. He graduated from Clifton High School in 1957. Joe attended the University of Texas at Austin and later transferred to Sam Houston State University. While in college, he met Melinda Robinson who later became his wife. Ambition and hard work were always a part of his life. He partnered with his father in a family business doing highway construction and paving roads for the state of Texas. He eventually went into the contracting business himself; his company was known as Joe Richards, Inc. On January 9, 2007, the Association of General Contractors (AGC) bestowed a life membership award with "grateful appreciation for outstanding service to the construction industry" to Joe "Butch" Richards. Joe's life was full with work and love for God, his family, his friends, hunting, fishing, skiing, and pets. He was known for his unwavering work ethic, his sense of humor and his generosity.

George was born on July 23, 1935, to Sam and Margaret Limburg in Crossville, Tennessee. He worked for the Santa Fe Railroad. George loved fishing, gardening, and raising rabbits. He enjoyed going on vacation, especially travelling back to Tennessee to visit family and to go to the Grand Ole Opry. George also liked to hunt, sometimes hunting bobcats on the turkey farm at home. He had lots of interests but his favorite thing in the world was spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. His legacy will live on through them.
George is preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Margaret Limburg; his wives, Ailleen and Charlotte; brothers, Jim, Bill, Sam, and Charles; sisters, Jean, Pearl, and Rose; grandchild, Deeanna; and great grandchild, Christopher Jr.

Don is preceded in death by his parents, Elbert and Elleen Centers from West Virginia.

Obituary Preview: Glen Dale Beauchamp of Belton, age 91, went to heaven peacefully surrounded by his family at home on Monday, November 29, 2021.  His funeral arrangements include a visitation at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Belton on Thursday, December 9 from 4-7 p.m.  A full military interment is scheduled for Friday, December 10 at 10 a.m. at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery. A procession led by the Patriot Guard Riders will travel from the funeral home to the cemetery prior to the interment. A memorial service will follow at 11:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Belton.
Beauchamp was born in Rochester, Texas on November 15, 1930 to H.R. and Myrtie Beauchamp. He graduated from O’Brien High School and attended Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas.  He finished a bachelor’s degree later at the University of Nebraska in Omaha, Nebraska. He married Carole LaVaughn (Crockett) Beauchamp on August 16, 1952 in Ventura, California. They had a son, Stephen Dale Beauchamp, in 1954 in Abilene, Texas, and fraternal twins, David Ray Beauchamp and Debra Kay (Beauchamp) Kirkland, in 1957 at Johnson Air Force Base, Japan. The Beauchamps have seven grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren.
Beauchamp retired from 22 years of military service with four years in the Navy (Point Mugu Naval Base in California, Korean War deployment), eight years in the Air Force (Dyess AF Base in Texas, Yokota AF Base in Japan, Beale AF Base in California), and ten years in the Army (Ft. Hood with two tours to Vietnam). His final military retirement was in 1973 at Ft. Hood, Texas. He and his wife and family lived in Killeen, Texas for 28 years where he worked as a Realtor for 13 years, was active in the Rotary Club, and attended First Baptist Church of Killeen. In 1992, he and his wife, LaVaughn, retired to the country outside of Belton, Texas. He served as deacon at First Baptist Church of Belton and was active in Sunday School leadership, Gideons, and senior activities. The couple celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary on August 16, 2021 at home with their children hosting.
In recent years as Beauchamp’s health declined, he was cared for by his wife as well as caregivers from Tender Mercies and Visiting Angels. Since July 2020, Beauchamp and his wife have been comforted and cared for by nurses, aides, social workers, and Chaplain Gary Baxley from Amedisys Hospice. First Baptist Church of Belton friends and staff members have been faithful with prayer, visits, food, and support through the years.  Retired pastor Andy Davis will officiate at the memorial service along with Baxley. Retired First Baptist Music Director Gary Bledsoe and his wife Jayne will sing, accompany, and lead music. Church friend Janice Frazier will also sing at the service.
The Beauchamp family will gather with friends and other family members to celebrate his life in songs, words, and pictures during the memorial service.  Beauchamp is preceded in death by his mother and father as well as his sister, Janice Elrena Essary, and granddaughter, Anna Rebekah Beauchamp. He is survived by his younger brother, Cecil Ray Beauchamp, of Eastland, Texas. His legacy will live on in his wife and children along with their spouses, their children, and grandchildren. Son Stephen Dale Beauchamp and his wife, Linda, will attend from Burleson, Texas with their three children: Jennifer (Beauchamp) and Alex Hutchens of Justin, Texas; Michelle (Beauchamp) and Bob Smith of Ft. Worth, Texas; and Richard and Ilsa Beauchamp of Smyrna, Tennessee.  Son David Ray Beauchamp and his wife, Debbie, will attend from Kansas City, Kansas with three of their children: John and Ashley Beauchamp of Kansas City, Kansas; Sarah (Beauchamp) and James Doran of Temple, Texas; and Luke and Brooke Beauchamp of Oletha, Kansas. Daughter D. (Beauchamp) and Don Kirkland will attend from Belton, Texas. Several great-grandchildren will also attend. David Beauchamp’s daughter, Anna, is buried in the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery, where her grandfather will also be laid to rest.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Belton Building Fund.

She was a member of First Baptist Church, having been saved by her Lord and Savior at the age of 9. She was a spiritual leader to others and loved to share Jesus with those she met throughout her life. She considered her family to be her greatest gift from God. She was proud of her family and cared for them dearly. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Lena married Fred B. Heitmeyer on November 25, 1964. They were blessed with 40 years together. She retired from Sears in 1985 as their first female Class A retail store manager. By family and friends, she was known as the “BOSS”. In her spare time, she enjoyed ceramics, fishing, and cooking. Lena was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church of Bartlett, TX.
Preceded in death by her parents and brother Curtis Reue.
She is survived by her stepson John Arthur Heitmeyer (Debra) of Ft. Worth, TX; sister Robbie Goodnight of Temple, TX; nephew Gary Goodnight (Tracey) of Dallas, TX; nephew Alan Goodnight (Tammy) of Salado, TX; niece Rene Depoy (Mark) of Salado, TX.  Lena will be fondly remembered by her step grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.
