Adored by her grandchildren Brock and Austin Terry, Aiden Boughen, Amber and Troy Pearson, Kara and Logan Scott, Alexis Fluckiger (Justin) and Kiefer Brough (Hannah). Great grandmother to Hunter Carroll and Brooks Brough. Predeceased by siblings John and Joanne. Will be missed by her siblings Sandi (Don), Judy (Steve), Cecil (Jo), Mary (Dennis) and Beth (John) and many nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place. She will be interred with Keith at Riverview Cemetery in Napanee. A Celebration of Her Life will be held later this summer, with date and place to be announced. Beloved husband of the late Grace Deren (deceased May 9, 2022) and dear father of Steven Deren (Katie) of Akron, Ohio. Predeceased by his siblings Joe (Stasia); Marie Szpuner and Mike (Winnie of Australia) and by his parents Jankowce and Anna Deren. John and Grace will be fondly remembered from their involvement at the Napanee Golf Course, they were avid Golfers and frequent travelers, John operated the Pinto Convenience Store in the Market Square and later The Mainstay Health Food Store in Napanee. The family will receive friends at the Hannah Funeral Home in Napanee at 123 Dundas Street West on Wednesday, April 24 from 12 noon, followed by a Service at 1:00 p.m. to remember both John and Grace. He is sadly missed by his mother Louise, siblings Linda Booty (David), Cathy Gushulak (Randy), Doug Poulin (Amandah), Joan Rink (Daryl) and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Kathy and by his father Fern. Rick served in the military, navy division and upon retirement continued with the Reserves. Rick loved to travel and loved the great outdoors. He was a devout Christian with a firm faith who ministered through prayers and missionary work. He authored two books about his faith. Rick was well loved by many for his kind and gentle spirit. A Service to Celebrate Ricks Life will be held at the Roblin Wesleyan Church, 3100 County Road #41 in Roblin on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. Refreshments to follow. Sister of Duane Wemp of Kingston and the late Lee Wemp (late Doris) and the late Grant Wemp (Gale of Toronto). Aunt of Herb, Valerie, Jamie, Derek and Barent Wemp and Lisa Renaldo. Brenda was a well loved and popular hairdresser in Napanee for many years, working with Hilda Smith and then with Thecla Gaffney at their shop on Dundas Street. Obituary Preview: Passed away, peacefully at The John M. Parrott Centre in Napanee. Son of Bert Grindrod (d. 1944) and Marjorie Pearce (nee Tubbs) (d. 2019) and stepson of Joseph Pearce (d. 2002). Husband of Joan Black Grindrod, of Moira Place in Tweed. Brother of Anne Clapp, Cathy Wilson, Tish Pearce Heartwell and the late Margaret Pearce Wilson (d. 2008). He will also be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews. Jim was a master mechanic; avid fisherman and dog whisperer. He showed incredible inventiveness in making special tools to overcome many obstacles in lifes troubles. Our family wishes to thank Gerrie Story-Plaizier, for her special care giving. Jim spent the past 6 years in Napanee at the Riverine Independent Living and The John M. Parrott Centre. Special mention to the Staff of Maple Lane at The John M. Parrott Centre for their care and loving attention shown to Jim during his 8 month stay. He was truly happy there. Cremation has taken place. No funeral service is being arranged. A family burial service and celebration of Jims life will take place at a later date. He is also survived by his cherished grandson Braeden Palmer. Born in Deseronto on June 22, 1951, Leonard worked at both Sams Aluminum and Doyle's Windows and Doors in Napanee. He was involved in the local music scene as a drummer and band leader for the Country Squires and was an avid fisherman and flyer, taking to the skies in his Paramotor. Our family wishes to thank the staff at Kingston Health Sciences Centre Cancer Unit, the L&A County Hospital staff and especially Jennifer Martin his friendly home care nurse and to Dr. Robert Reynolds his long time family doctor. Beloved wife of the late Walter Douglas Blakely and dear mother of Karen Mackenzie (Dale) of St. Albert, Alberta; John Blakely (Hilly) of Napanee and David Blakely (Jane) of Courtice. Beloved grandmother of ten grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren, and fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents William and Ina Goodman, her siblings Margaret Curry and Wilbur Goodman and granddaughter Krista Brown. Florence grew up on the River Road, the youngest of three. She loved horses and reading and often managed to coordinate those two pursuits. After the war she and Doug raised their children on Simcoe Street in Napanee along with the many other families of war veterans. Life long relationships were forged there until a broken hip forced her to move to Riverine where she resided since 2018. Many thanks to the staff at the Lennox and Addington County Hospital for the outstanding care Florence received recently. Doris grew up on a farm near Camden East and raised her family in Napanee, Ontario. She worked at Dupont in Kingston, Ontario for 25 years until she retired to enjoy more time with her grandsons, share her love of travel with her husband, Howard, to many places around the world, and spend winters in Florida. She will be remembered for being very hardworking and for her fierce dedication and love of her family.
Visitation will be held at Hannah Funeral Home, 123 Dundas St. W., Napanee, Ontario (613.354.3341) on Saturday, November 26, 2022 starting at 11:00 a.m., followed by a service at 12:00 pm and reception. Interment at Riverview Cemetery, 336 Dundas St. W., Napanee.
