In addition to serving his country in the United States Navy, Donn was a devoted family man. He leaves behind his beautiful and loving wife of 53 years, Debbie (Iles); son Chad (Terri) Penney; daughters Shannon Penney and Rebecca (Chad) Randolph. As well as some of the best grandchildren a grandpa could ever have: Kayla Baldwin, Carter Penney, Kennedy Penney, Kyle Templeton, Brandan Price, Garrett Randolph, Grant Penney, Mahra Randolph, Maxton Randolph and 2 great-grandchildren. Donn is also survived by his siblings: Art (Dawn) Penney, Barbara (Dan) Wardrop, Carol Rard, Betsy Taylor, along with many nieces and nephews. Donn’s legacy extends beyond his immediate family - he had an impact on countless others throughout his lifetime. He will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
As a man of many words and opinions that were filled with immense wisdom, Donn lived a life that exemplified dedication to duty and selflessness towards others. Donn enjoyed his long weekends at their seasonal campsite, fishing, hunting (but only twice), recycling, sorting recyclables, creating wooden works of craftsmanship for his family and gardening (depending on who you ask).
The loss of such an extraordinary individual is immeasurable, but we take solace in knowing that his spirit lives on through the memories we hold dear. To quote the great Frank Sinatra, Donn would say, "I did it my way!".

Kathleen Beach - April 17, 1942 - January 08, 2024

Departed: 01/08/2024 (Hillsdale)
Obituary Preview: Kathleen Ruth Beach April 17, 1942- January 8, 2024
Kathleen Ruth Beach, age 81, of Pittsford passed away on Monday January 8, 2024, peacefully in her home.
Kathy was born April 17, 1942 in Toledo, Ohio to Robert and Marcella Keyer.
She was united in marriage May 12, 1962 to Gerald Robert Beach. Before they were married, Bob first won over Kathy’s parents, but Kathy had yet to make up her mind. After seeing Bob with his curly dark locks and his Army green uniform, he quickly won over Kathy’s heart and together they endured a lasting and loving marriage and raised a beautiful family together. Kathy would go on to say that choosing Bob was the best decision she could have made.
Kathy was a homemaker, beautiful seamstress, wonderful cook, and loving and generous mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Kathy had many talents. One of her greatest was crafting the most beautiful and personable gifts in her sewing room for family and friends. She also spent much of her time in the kitchen. Along with all of the delicious recipes that emerged from her kitchen, also came many memories. Memories that her children and grandchildren will forever cherish of family gatherings and learning many of grandma’s secrets to cooking and baking. Kathy’s life was a reflection of her faith. While in her twenties, she committed her life to Christ and became greatly involved in the Church throughout her life, spending several years as a faithful servant and teacher to the Kindergarten Sunday School class. She led her home to know Christ, prayed fervently for family and friends, and maintained a steadfast faith. One of her favorite passages of scripture was found in Matthew 10:32-33, “Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my father which is in heaven. But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.” Another personal prayer of hers was found in Colossians 1:10, “That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God.” These verses guided Kathy’s life, until she met her maker and heard her Father say, “Well done, my good and faithful servant.”
Kathy will be dearly missed by her loving husband of 61 years Gerald Beach; sons Jeremi (Valeri) Beach, Tony Beach, Kip Beach; grandchildren Ryan and Erica Beach, Malachi (Brandi) Swanson, Micah (Kaylee) Swanson, Hannah (Justin) Jones, Bo (Amanda) Beach, Grace, Levi, and Lane Beach, and Evo Beach; and eight great grandchildren.
Although our hearts are broken by Kathy’s departure from this earth, we find peace in knowing that she was welcomed into the arms of Jesus and joyously reunited with her daughter Anjanette, her son Jeffery, her sister Suzie, and several other loved ones as they greeted her at the gates of Heaven.
Memorial services to celebrate Kathy's life will be on Friday, January 19 at 10:30 a.m. at Liberty Bible Church in Pittsford, MI. With Dr. Samuel Wickard officiating. The family will participate in a private burial ceremony following the service. Please visit www.hamptonfuneralhomes.com to sign the guestbook and/or send a condolence to the family.
