Funeral services will be 1:30 PM Thursday, November 18, 2021 at Hagi & Schultz Funeral Home, Streator, with Pastor John Gutz officiating.  Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.  Visitation will be held Thursday from 12:30 to 1:30 PM prior to services at the funeral Home.  Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, American Cancer Society, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
Ruth was born December 7, 1926 in Dwight, a daughter of James and Bertha (Hahn) Christensen.  She married Charles Rikenberger on June 20, 1948 in Dwight.  He preceded her in death on November 8, 2020.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Charles, and two brothers, Glenn and Alvin Christensen.
Ruth was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church and was a former treasurer at the church.  She had worked at Streator Home Building and Loan for over 50 years as a secretary and operating officer.  She had also worked for Illinois Savings and Loan and the Federal Home Loan Bank.

Funeral Services will be 10:30 AM Saturday, October 23, 2021 at Hagi Funeral Home, Streator with Pastor Roger Davis officiating.  Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.  Visitation will be from 9:00 to 10:30 AM Saturday prior to services at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donors choice.
Rita was born August 20, 1941 in rural Flanagan, a daughter of Ogle and Thelda R. (Baker) Schell.  She married Ron L. Ward on March 22, 1960 in Cairo, IL.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years; three daughters, Linda (Danny) Jarrett of Pontiac, Lisa Stoeger of Toluca, and Lynette Ward of Streator; 9 grandchildren, Shannon Kirk, Ronnie and Ryan Bethard, Jamie Derossett, Jenna and Joshua Long, and Brenton, Johnny, and Macoy Ward; and 12 great grandchildren.   Also surviving is a sister, Donna (Robert) Arroyo of Streator; and Larry (Nancy) Schell of Streator.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Roy Kenneth Schell, Donald Schell and Roger Schell.
Rita was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Streator.
She worked at various jobs throughout her live but was mainly a homemaker.  Her favorite job and one she loved talking about was being a carhop at Dog & Suds in Streator during her high school days.
Rita loved to play Golf, enjoyed making ceramics and was an avid Chicago Cubs Fan.

Woods American Legion Post 217 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1492.  Visitation will be from 9:00 to 11:00 AM Tuesday prior to services at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Streator Elks Lodge or the Streator YMCA.
Jack was born July 10, 1930 in Streator, a son of Cameron W. and Marguerite E. (Myer) Voorhees.  He married Patsy A. Morrison on August 29, 1958 in Streator.  She preceded him in death on July 6, 2017.
Surviving are two daughters, Tammy (Doug) Barga of Seattle, WA and Gale (Terry Love) Stith of Ottawa; 7 grandchildren, Amanda (Rob) Ignasak, Callie (Frankie Cohen) Stith, Danielle (Brad) Bauman, Kasey (Pete) Kosewski, Drew Barga, Cole (Caroline) Barga and Andy Barga; and one great grandson, Beau Bauman.  Also surviving is a brother, Jim (Nita) Vorrhees of Evansville, IN; and special friends, Steve (Zandra) Gomes.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Mary Kmetz; and a brother, Wayne Voorhees.
Jack served in the United States Navy.  He retired from the Streator Coca-Cola Company, working in Sales in the Ottawa area.
Jack was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Streator Elks Club, the VFW and the Streator YMCA.

She is survived by her mother, Sue Stutzman of Streator; her son, Daryll Stutzman of Kangley; and three sisters, Ronda Bean and Tina Stutzman both of Bradenton, FL and Jacque Lynn Stutzman of Streator.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Gene Stutzman.
Jean Marie was a 1984 graduate of the Toluca High School.  She was very active in Softball, Basketball and Volleyball.  She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by a daughter, Nichole Frias of Streator; a son, Johnny (Christopher) Saxour of Streator; a sister, Patricia Gniadek of Chicago; a brother, Stanley (Carla) Rygula of Plainfield; and Many nieces and nephews.  Also surviving are her grand-pups, Tasha, Lola and Bella.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her former husband, Johnny Saxour; son-in-law, Esteban Frias; and sister, Marian Klima.
Nancy was the greatest mother and will be deeply missed by her family.

Cornelius was born June 6, 1936 in Streator, a son of Elmer and Rebecca (Breese) Antolik.  He married Mary E. Brenner on July 8, 1956 in Cissna Park, IL.  She survives.
Also surviving are their children, Duane Antolik of Magnolia, Susan Antolik of Liberty, KY, Pamela Antolik-Lester of Hennepin and Randy (Laura Tracher) Antolik of Henry; 9 grandchildren, Zachary Antolik, Aubrey (J.C.) Smith, Jordan Antolik, Jacob Antolik, Jolissa Antolik, Jasmine Antolik, Caleb Antolik, Tonia Lester and Ean Lester; 4 great grandchildren, Gracie and Alexis Troutman and Kameron and Kayden Smith; and a sister, Mary Fortson of Streator.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Viola Troubridge.
Cornelius had attended Streator High School.  He had worked for the Hennepin Steel Mill and was a member of the United Steel Workers of America for 30 years.
He was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church and was a volunteer for the Streator Ramp Builders.

McAchran on October 11, 1977 in Streator.  He survives.  Also surviving are 5 children, Danny Stewart, David Stewart, Jeffery McAchran, April McAchran, all of Streator, and Joseph McAchran of Kangley; 9 grandchildren; two brothers, Gary Harlacher of Geneseo and Terry Harlacher of Streator; and five sisters, Brenda (Jim) Lewis, Cheryl (Greg) Drysdale and Marlene (Bob) Horton all of Streator, Debbie Bateson of Clinton and Peggy (Don) Kleppin of Rutland.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Kathy loved her grandchildren very much and would do anything for her kids.  She would be there for anyone who needed help.  She will be deeply missed by all.

Terry was a member of the First Baptist in Streator.  She was a woman of great faith and a was a born again Christian and Jesus was her Lord and Savior.
She worked as a childcare provider for many years.  She was known for cake baking and decorating and had made many wedding cakes over the years.
Cremation rites will be accorded and interment will be at a later date.  Memorial contributions may be made in Terry’s name for the purchase of a headstone.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
Melanie had graduated from Woodland High School in 1975.  She enjoyed drawing and was a great artist.  She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother and had a heart of gold.

Audrey was born January 16, 1924 in Streator, a daughter of James and Margaret (Horack) Plimmer.  She married Willard Harms on November 22, 1942 at Camp Grant in Rockford.  He preceded her in death on November 10, 2000.
Surviving are her children, Carol Cooley of Elmore, AL, Sandra (Ralph) Pollett of Wilson, NC, Susan (John) Sikich of Key West, FL, Janet (Mike) Fricano of Delray Beach, FL and John Harms of Streator; four grandchildren, Stephanie Sheckler, Jeff Pollett, Megan Sikich and Sara Sikich; and four great grandchildren, Hayley Sheckler, Mason Sheckler, Zachary Pollett and Nicholas Pollett.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Willard; a granddaughter, Cori Sikich; two great granddaughters, Jenna and Emma Pollett; and two brothers Max Plimmer and Bobby Plimmer.
Audrey attended Streator grade and High Schools.  She was a member of Park Presbyterian Church, Streator Garden Club, Christian Women’s Club, Morning Star Quilters Group and the Illinois Valley Herb Guild.
Audrey was passionate about sewing, gardening, and cooking.  She stopped everything to spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Eric Eugene Anderson; and a sister, Christina Rose Defenbaugh.
Cynthia was a member of the Central Church of Christ.  She was a dedicated CNA and Care Giver at several area nursing homes.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Joe; a son, Joseph M. Fogarty; a brother, Floyd Pflibsen; and a sister, Antoinette Vogel.

Leroy was born January 16, 1948 in Manville, a son of Allie and Lucille (Micheals) Persinger.  He married Mary J. Libby on June 9, 1989 in Streator.  She preceded him in death on December 10, 2010.
He is survived by his children, Anna (Steven) Miller, Chasity Persinger and Leroy Persinger Jr. all of Streator, Amanda (Russell) Koetz of Manville, Ashley (Joseph) Ahlfield of Grand Ridge, Brian Persinger and Michael Persinger both of Streator, Lisa VanWell of North Carolina and Debbie Moscote of Florida; 15 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.  Also surviving is a brother George Persinger of Springfield, TN.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Jim and Dick Persinger.
Leroy grew up on farms in Tennessee and Kentucky.  He loved the farm life.
He worked for Streator Brick for 35 years and had been a welding instructor for Woodland School.  He was proud of his garage and liked to work on motorcycles and fix anything made of steel in the garage.

Danie was born March 4, 1993 in Chicago, a daughter of Richard and Karen (Snyder) Madsen.
She is survived by her father, Richard Madsen; her mother, Karen McCumsey; step-father, Marshall McCumsey, all of Streator; three brothers, James (Jess McAlpine) Merutka, Scott Madsen and Lucas McCumsey, all of Streator; a sister, Samantha (Danny Stephens) McCumsey of Effingham; nieces and nephew, Elise and Ethan Merutka, and soon to be born, Callie Wren.  Also surviving are step-brothers, Richard Madsen and Matthew Madsen; uncles and aunts, Benjamin Gagliardo, Dominic Gagliardo and Victor Gagliardo all of Streator, Dan (Sue) Franke of Indianapolis, IN, Cindy (Mike) Espinosa of Morton Grove, and Patricia Ward of Streator.
Danie was a volunteer at For the Love of Pets.

Roberta was born January 23, 1953 in Streator, a daughter of Robert W. and Roberta Ann (Briner) Bethard.
She is survived by a daughter, Kelly (Eric) Stade of Aurora; a son, Joe (Katie) Sliker of Streator; 8 grandchildren, Sam, Nathan, Jotie, Joanna, Dalton, Eden, Brody, and Tariku; two sisters, Connie Viland of Marshall, MI and Rebecca Boles of Peru; and a brother, Wayne (Thelma) Bethard of Crosby, TX.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Ronald Bethard.

A graveside service will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, July 17, 2021 at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Streator, with Pastor William Callister officiating.  Cremation rites have been accorded.  Memorials may be made to St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Streator, Activities Dept. at Flanagan Rehabilitation and Health Care or a charity of the donor’s choice.
Berneice was born July 1, 1925 in rural Ransom, a daughter of Bernard and Ella (Voges) Hansen.  She married Robert L. Schultz on June 18, 1949 in Streator.  He preceded her in death on December 12, 2015.
She is survived by a son; her special niece, Tonya (Derek) Carter; and a great nephew, Daxton Carter.  She is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Genette Hansen and Shirley Hansen both of Streator; and many nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Judy Schultz; five sisters, Leona Johnson, Helen Taylor, Zelma Ekstrom, Alice Talty and Evelyn Hansen; and two brothers, Glenn Hansen and her twin brother, Bernard Hansen.
Berneice was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.  She had worked at Thatcher Glass Factory until her retirement.
The family would like to thank the staff at Vitas Hospice and Flanagan Rehab and Healthcare Center for the care and compassion they have shown Berneice over the years.

Austin Bosse will officiate.  Inurnment will follow the mass in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Ransom.  Cremation rites have been accorded.  Following Mavis’s wishes, there will be no visitation.  Memorial contributions may be made to the church or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

Mavis was born May 25, 1921 in Ransom, the daughter of Leonard J. and Cecelia (Casey) Bruner.  She attended the Ransom School and graduated from Streator High School in 1939.
Mavis was the last of her family and preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Calvin Bruner.
She is survived by cousins, Patricia Dzuris of Estes Park, CO and Susan Knutson of Mokena, IL; and close friend, Gail McClernon of Streator.
Mavis worked in the accounting department for General Tire and HD Electric both in Chicago.  She later worked for Smith Douglas for 34 years, retiring in 1981.
She was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Parish and former member of Immaculate Conception Church.
Mavis was an avid golfer and a former member of Twin Creeks and Anderson Golf Courses.

Obituary Preview: Donald Leo Schmillen, 89, of Toluca, passed away at 3:16 AM Saturday June 19, 2021 at OSF St. James John W. Albrecht Medical Center, Pontiac.
He was born March 20, 1932, a son of William F. and Rose M. (Ehrnthaller) Schmillen.  He married Gladys M. Wudtke on September 12, 1959 at St. Ann’s Rectory in Toluca.
Donald was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church, Toluca where his Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, June 26, 2021.  Visitation will be held from 9:00 until time of service 11:00 AM at the church Saturday.  Inurnment will be at St. Ann Cemetery following the mass.
Don farmed with is father and brother, and then worked at LTV Steel in Hennepin for 26 years until he retired.  He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, from December 1952 to December 1954.  He was deployed to, and served at the 38th parallel.  Don was proud to have served his country in the Army.
Don was a member a member of the American Legion, Post #440 in Toluca since 1952.  He was also a member of the Wenona American Legion for 33 years, when he lived in Wenona.  He was a member of the Veteran’s of Foreign War, a Lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus Toluca council 4007 and a 4th Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by his wife, Gladys; three children, Anthony (Susan) Schmillen of Sherman; Valerie (Gary) Conrady of Lincoln; Steven (Amanda) Schmillen of Ottawa; a son-in-law, Jeff Schertz of Chatham; ten grandchildren, Dominic (Burlie) Schmillen, Augustus (Hanna) Schmillen, Jesse (Sarah) Schmillen, Sawyer Conrady, Schyler (Jeff) Wilson, Sage Conrady, Emily (Jeff) Elliott, Jacob Schertz, Anna (Andy) Carrigan, and Hayden Schmillen; five great grandchildren,  Sampson and Maverick Schmillen, Tristan and Damon Schmillen, and Mason Schmillen; and two great granddaughters due in July, Noa and Maisie Wilson.
Also surviving are a brother, Gaylord (Marcia) Schmillen of Toluca; Sister, Dolores Tapay of Los Gatos, CA; a sister-in-law, JoAnn Schmillen of Toluca; and many nieces and nephews.
Don was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Lora (Schmillen) Schertz; four brothers, Francis, William, Eugene, and Thomas; and two sisters, Eileen (Schmillen) Lowrance and Colette (Schmillen) Rogers.
