Joshua is survived by his father, Joseph Reichert of Wren, OH; a son, Chase Reichert of Sydney, OH; a daughter, Bailey Reichert of Decatur, IN; 2 brothers, Luke (Kristy) Reichert and Zachary Reichert both of Wren, OH; a sister, Lachelle (Scott) Clifton of Wren, OH; nieces and nephews, Mekale, Colby (God child), Gavyn, Ariah, Emory; great nieces, Mavery & Marlow.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Jo Reichert (August 2021).
Visitation will be from 2:00 – 7:00 p.m. Thursday, May 12, 2022, at Haggard-Sefton-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home.
A Funeral Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, May 13, 2022, also at the funeral home with visitation 1 hour prior from 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. Pastor Rocky Evans will be officiating, and burial will follow in Mt. Tabor Cemetery.

He was a 2013 graduate of Heritage High School. He had worked at All Occasions Party Rental and more recently for FedEx.
Dustin is survived by his mother, Wendie M. (Robert Fudala) Swaindner of Ft. Wayne; brother, Corbin P. Swaidner of Ft. Wayne; father, Jeremie Swaidner of AZ; maternal grandmother, Maria (Torres) Bilger of Ft. Wayne; paternal grandfather, Jed Swaidner of Ft. Wayne; uncle, Robert Bilger of Vero Beach, FL; aunt, Tina Bilger of Oakland, CA.
A Celebration of Dustin’s life will take place at a later date.

Obituary Preview: Carl L. Bluhm, 85, of Decatur, IN, passed away on Friday, April 29, 2022, at Adams Memorial Hospital. He was born in Decatur, IN, on November 22, 1936, the son of the late Ralph V. and Helen M. (Mitchel) Bluhm. On January 26, 1960, he married Jane M. Keys.
He was a 1954 graduate of Adams Central High School and served his country in the U.S. Air Force.
Carl was the owner and operator of Carl Bluhm Drain, Sewer, & Septic for 15 years. He then sold to his daughter and son-in-law and worked another decade for Bluhm & Reber and retired in 2002.
He was the Adams County Dog Catcher for 3 years and was in the 4-H Dog Club. He was a member of the Elk’s Lodge B.P.O.E. 796 in Bluffton. He was an avid card player and loved playing at the Berne Senior Center.
Carl is survived by his wife of 62 years, Jane M. Bluhm of Decatur; 2 sons, Randy L. (Jennifer Frischkorn) Bluhm of Ft. Wayne and Scott A. (ReJena) Bluhm of Berne; a daughter, Kimberly S. (Karl) Reber of Decatur; a sister, Doris Ann (Tom) Eversten of Omaha, NE; 7 grandchildren, Holly (Ken) Fernandez-Prada, Cory (Katie) Bluhm, Jacob (Ciera) Bluhm, Christy (Matt) Dunn, Cara (Dylan Long) Bluhm, Ashlee (James) Smith, and Aleesha Reber; great grandchildren, Braylend, James Jr., Quinton, Olivia, Emily, Rawling, Evie, Ariel, and Nadya.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 3, 2022, from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Haggard-Sefton-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home.

Grace was born on March 23, 1932, in Adams County, IN, the daughter of the late Charles and Mary (Hoffman) Fisher. She was united in marriage to Curtis D. Nussbaum on October 20, 1951, and after 67 years he preceded in death on May 16, 2019.
She worked the majority of her life taking care of her family as a homemaker and also worked for G.E. and CTS in Berne. She was a lifelong member of St. Luke Church.
Grace above all loved and enjoyed supporting her grandchildren. She was known for her hospitality, sending greeting cards, cooking meals, and baking cookies and pies for others. She and her late husband, Curtis were diehard Chicago Cubs fans. She is survived by 2 daughters, Debra (Gary) Giessler and Diann “Toby” (Ken) Neadstine both of Monroe; 3 grandchildren, Kristopher (Rachel) Burkhart, Ashley (Eric Klarer) Gaskill, and Austin (Caitlin) Neadstine; 1 step grandson, Tod Giessler; 6 great grandchildren, Alex (Kate) Burkhart, Jordan Burkhart, Gaven Gaskill, Presley Gaskill, Greyson Gaskill, and Taitumm Neadstine; 2 step great grandchildren, Justin Giessler and Zach Giessler
She was also preceded in death by 2 brothers, Brice and Jim Fisher and a sister, Ellen Lehman.
A visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 24, 2022, at Haggard-Sefton-Hirschy and Zelt Funeral Home.

Obituary Preview: Alta Althea (Low) Hood, 88, of Ossian, IN passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at Ossian Health and Rehab. Alta was born in Niles, Michigan on December 29, 1933 to the late Herbert and Mary (Myers) Low. On May 29, 1953, Alta married William Ray Hood in South Bend, Indiana.
Alta retired from Brandywine School in Niles, MI, where she drove bus for special needs children. After her retirement, she and her husband moved to Florida, where they had an active social life, meeting many wonderful new friends. She loved her family and friends and loved knitting, square dancing, motorcycle riding, camping, cards and dominoes.
Alta is survived by her husband of 68 years, William Ray Hood of Decatur; daughter, Regina Wolfe of Decatur; son, Alan (Kim) Hood of Niles, MI; son-in-law, Gary Burgess of Greensboro, NC; brother, Ron Low of Chicago, IL; 10 grandchildren, Elizabeth (Tim) Pruitt, Ryan (Sarah) Wolfe, Brandon (Jeni) Hood, Josh Hood (Willow), Vicki Jo Burgess, Aaron (Amber) Wolfe, Casey (Kelly) Hood, Caity (Kevin) Daus, Andrea Mason and Ethan Mason; 20 great grandchildren; 4 great-great granddaughters and many nieces and nephews.
Alta was preceded in death by a son, Steve Hood; a daughter, Vicky Burgess, son-in-law, Larry Wolfe; siblings, Larry Low, Annabelle Fishburn, Arletta Ringer and Alma Tarner.
Per Alta’s’ wishes, there will be no services.
Preferred memorials are to Heart to Heart Hospice.

In his youth he was a parishioner of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church. He loved riding his Harley Davidson and was a founding member of the local chapter of the Barbarians Motorcycle Club.
He is survived by his significant other, Laurie (Velez) Smitley of Decatur; two sons, Jason Mathews of Decatur, Jesse Helms of Troy, OH; two daughters, Lindsey Helms of Troy, OH and Kasey Antoine; two sisters, Tonni Murphy of Decatur and Penni Helms of Ft. Wayne; 11 grandchildren.
A Funeral Liturgy will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 25, 2022 with calling 1 hour prior from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at Haggard-Sefton-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home, with Father David Ruppert officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery immediately following services.

Rodney L. Allen - March 20, 1946 - April 14, 2022

Obituary Preview: Rodney L. Allen, 76, of Decatur, IN, passed away on Thursday, April 14, 2022. Rodney was born on March 20, 1946 in Spokane, Washington to the late Herman E. and Betty L. (Barnes) Allen. On December 26, 1964, Rodney married Linda L. Ross.
He worked for International Harvester in Fort Wayne and transferred to Springfield, OH, where he retired from in 1999, after 30 years of service. Rodney was also a Union Steward for the U.A.W. Local 402.
Rodney was an avid softball player and was inducted in the Decatur Men’s Softball Hall of Fame. For a decade he coached Little League Baseball in Pleasant Mills and Pony League in Decatur.  He loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, hunting, 4 wheeling, snowmobiling, pontooning, and riding his Honda Goldwing.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Linda L. Allen of Decatur, son, Brandan J. Allen of Decatur; 2 daughters, Sherri L. Lewis of Ft. Wayne and Jacalyn S. (Charles) Hill of WV; brother, Gary Spring of Washington; 2 sisters, Bunny (Dustin) Letellier of Gig Harbor, WA and Brenda Ross of Billings, MT; 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by twin brothers, Mark and Mike Spring.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Haggard-Sefton-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m.Wednesday, April 20, 2022 also at the funeral home, with visitation 1 hour prior to the service from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Pastor Ernie Suman will be officiating and burial will immediately follow in Mt. Tabor Cemetery, rural Decatur.

Michelle L. James - July 07, 1964 - April 10, 2022

Obituary Preview: Michelle L. Heck James, 57, of Fort Wayne, IN passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2022, at Kingston Residential, after a battle with cancer. She was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, on July 7, 1964, the daughter of Donald and Geraldine (Schultz) Heck.
She was a 1982 graduate of Harding High School, where she was a band member and played the flute, the trumpet and French horn. Michelle went on to receive her Associates Degree in Nursing, from Purdue University. She worked as a Registered Nurse, in Fort Wayne, at Super Shot for 23 years, where she loved taking care of the babies and making the procedures go as quickly as possible. Michelle was often recognized in public as “The Shot Lady.” Prior to that, she worked at Lutheran Hospital in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit for 10 years. She would say, "I'm going to tell you that I love my job. That sounds really sad because I come in and make your kids cry, but I love my job. I feel like I'm making them better, I'm helping them stay healthy as opposed to playing catch-up to get them better from being sick."
She is survived by her mother, Geraldine Matheny of Ossian; her husband, Randall James of Fort Wayne; a daughter, Eryn Tatyana James of Fort Wayne; a step daughter, Mackenzie Ryan; sisters, Christine (Dan) Camp of Fort Wayne, Sherri (Darren) Will of Roanoke, Melissa (Tom) Heine of Indianapolis, Vikki Bobay of New Haven; a sister-in-law, Debra Heck Anderson of Syracuse; a step sister, Lisa (Gordon) Brown of Florida; nieces and nephews, Jennifer Temple, Joni Darrah, Bryan Heine, Andrea Donahue, Kyle Will, Courtney Will, Taylor Jacobs, Eryka Bobay and Claire Bobay.
Michelle was preceded in death by her father, Donald Heck; a brother, Eryk Heck; a brother-in-law, Tom Heine; a step father, Otto Matheny.
Preferred memorials are to Eryn James, payable to the Fort Wayne Police and Fire Credit Union at 3306 N. Clinton St., Fort Wayne, IN 46805. A Celebration of Life gathering will be held Sunday, April 24 from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. at the
UAW Local 2209 Hall, 5820 East 900 North, Roanoke, Indiana 46783.
Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery, at a later date.

Tim was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Kathy Barhorst, Connie Harshman and Becky Wellman.

Wendell was a barber in Decatur for 57 years, owned and operated the Haircut Center. He attended Union Chapel United Methodist Church.
He served his country in the U.S. Navy and was a member of the V.F.W. Post 6236 and American Legion Post 43. He was also a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1311 and Elks Lodge B.P.O.E. 993.
He is survived by three sons, Victor D. Beer and Kevin J. Beer both of Decatur, Brian R. Beer of Billings, MT; a daughter, Wendy J. (Daniel) Towne of Gilbert, AZ; 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 1 on the way.
Wendell was preceded in death by two brothers, Leroy Beer Jr. and Rodrick Beer; two sisters, Joan Harrell and Marilyn Sprunger.
A Funeral Service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 5, 2022, at Haggard-Sefton-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home, with Pastor Ed Karges officiating. Visitation will be 2 hours prior to the service from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m.

She was a parishioner of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church. She was a homemaker and had worked at CTS in Berne.
She was an amazing grandma who always had her grandkid’s favorites at family gatherings. She was a good cook and made the best mac and cheese. Whenever mom and dad said “no”, the grandkids would call Mamaw/Grandma. She attended all the grandkid’s sporting events, dance recitals, and various activities. She had the biggest heart and loved her family and grandkids above all.
Colleen is survived by her husband of 51 years, Daniel J. Kable of Monroe, IN; a son, Daniel J. (Jennifer) Kable Jr. of Curtice, OH; a daughter, Kristina M. (Jeremy) Sanders of Fishers, IN; 2 sisters, Velma R. (Fred) Manor of Portland, IN and Rosie Fairchild of Decatur, IN; a sister-in-law, Kay Fairchild of Ft. Wayne, IN; 7 grandchildren, Anthony Joseph “AJ”, Branson Tyler, Savannah Grace, Owen Thomas, Emma Olivia, Landon Walter, and Alyssa Danielle “Allie”.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Lisa A. Kable on September 23, 2019 and a brother, Thomas E. Fairchild.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 2, 2022, in St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, with Father David Ruppert presiding. Burial will immediately follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Al was a member of the Moose Lodge 1311, Eagles Lodge, V.F.W. and S.A.L. American Legion; he was an avid Purdue fan. Al loved sitting on his front porch with his neighbors. Allen is survived by his wife of 63 years, Ann Bowen of Decatur; daughter Lisa (Rex) Harris of West Chester, OH; son-in-law David Reihman of Cincinnati, OH; two grandchildren Nicholas Reihman and Carli Reihman; two great grandchildren, McKenzie and Aiden; brother Robert (Gloria) Bowen of Decatur, IN
He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter Melanie Reihman, October 6, 2020.

She was preceded in death by her mother Jana L. Shackley on June 25, 2021; her aunt, Lori Shackley and uncle, Dan McAtee; grandparents, Jim and Betty Shackley, Don and Ruby Windmiller, and Theodore and Alvera Eady.
Visitation will be from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Monday, March 28, 2022 at Haggard-Sefton-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home. Burial will take place in the Decatur Cemetery at a later date.

He was a parishioner of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church. He was a 1965 graduate of Decatur High School. Zimmy was a metal fabricator for Bunge for 40 years and then went on to work an additional decade at Universal Metalcraft.
He cherished the 28 seasons camping with his family at Jellystone. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson and in his younger years was involved in flat track motorcycle racing. Above all he loved his grandchildren and his favorite name to be called was “Pa”.
Zimmy is survived by his wife of 54 years, Louisa A. Kohne of Decatur; a son, George Scott (Amy) Zimmerman of New Haven; a daughter, Wendy L. (Mark) Winget; a brother-in-law, Kelly (Lisa) Kohne of Wolcottville; a sister-in-law, Shawn (Tony) Devido of Hoagland; 3 grandchildren, Dalton Zimmerman, Alyssa Winget, and Tiffanie Winget; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Karen Kohne.
Visitation will be from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 23, 2022, at Haggard-Sefton-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home.
A Funeral Liturgy will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 24, 2022, also at the funeral home, with calling 1 hour prior to the service from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Father Stephen Colchin will be officiating.

Diane was a member of First Missionary Church where she started and lead the Sunbeams ministry for one-year-old children. Diane, along with many dedicated helpers over the years, shared the love of Christ with hundreds of children. It was her passion for 34 years. Her legacy will live on through this special ministry.
Diane’s love for children extended into her many years of volunteering for the elementary library at Adams Central Community Schools. She was later employed as a library assistant for both the middle and high school at Adams Central for 27 and a half years until she retired in 2017. In her spare time, she enjoyed flowers, gardening, and spending time with her family and friends.
Diane is survived by her husband of 52 years, J. Steven Amstutz and two sons; Jeffrey Amstutz (Chad Hershner, husband) of Appleton, WI; and Bradley (Lana Wulliman) Amstutz of Oregonia, OH; and two grandchildren; Ethan and Carter Amstutz; and special mention Abby and Josiah Hershner. She is also survived by two sisters and one brother; Edith (Neill) von Gunten of Winnipeg, Canada; Arlene (Harry) Nicodemus of Berne; James (Janet Teeple) Dennison of Berne.
Diane is preceded in death by her parents, Claude & Viola Dennison.

Obituary Preview: James E. Wilder, 90, of Decatur passed away on Monday, February 14, 2022, at his residence. He was born in Decatur, Indiana on December 10, 1931, the 2nd of the 12 children of the late Arthur B. and Helen I. (Tricker) Wilder. On May 4, 1957, he married Imogene A. “Jean” Miller.
He was a parishioner of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church and a member of its Holy Name Society. He was a 1952 graduate of Decatur (St. Joseph) Catholic High School, where he played Varsity Basketball for 4 years.
Jim proudly served his country during the Korean War in the United States Navy aboard the U.S.S. Wisconsin as a Petty Officer Third Class from 1952 – 1956.
He worked in Production at Central Soya from 1952 to 1995, after 42 years of service. His main love was farming their land and enjoyed it until his health made him cease in 1989. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 43 and the Adams County Senior Citizens.
He was a diehard Notre Dame Fighting Irish fan and never missed a football or basketball game.
He enjoyed tinkering around his property with his toys and working in his barn. Jim also cherished the 21 years with his family on Long Lake in Colon, Michigan.
He is survived by his spouse of 64 years, Imogene “Jean” Wilder of Decatur; 3 sons, Steven J. (Charlene) Wilder of Portland, IN, Duane E. (Julia) Wilder of Fort Wayne, IN, Robert A. Ed was born on April 30, 1931 in Decatur, Indiana to the late William V. and Rhea Hope (Byerly) Bryan. On June 14, 1952 he married Bonnie Lou Gaunt. She preceded him in death on February 5, 2013.
Ed was a member of the Pleasant Dale Church of the Brethren.  After graduating from Lancaster High School, he attended Manchester (College) University and then earned his Masters of Education at Ball State University.  He was employed at Adams Central Community Schools from 1960 to 1989 serving as a teacher, coach, athletic director and principal.  He also worked as a farmer on the Bryan family homestead.  Upon retirement from his career in education, he enjoyed spending time at Pretty Lake, volunteering with the Church of the Brethren Disaster Ministries in response to hurricanes, tornadoes and fires.  Through his life he most enjoyed simply sharing in the lives of those around him whether they were family, friend, co-worker or stranger.  Throughout his life he was an active member of the Pleasant Dale Church of the Brethren serving in roles such as teacher, board member and deacon.
He is survived by his daughter, Lisa (Bryan) & John Schmitt of New Albany, his son, Nathaniel “Nat” & Juanita (Gavilanez) Bryan of Bluffton, his granddaughters Jennifer Reynolds (Jay), Allison Schmitt and Natalia Bryan. Ed has two great-granddaughters Charlotte Reynolds and Eliana Reynolds.  He is survived by one sibling Marilyn (Bryan) Spensley of Erie, PA. Ed was preceded in death by his sons, Jonathan Clair Bryan and Edwin Charles “Chad” Bryan.
Visitation will be from 2:00-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at Haggard-Sefton-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Sara Busch of Fort Wayne; son, Kyle (Kayla) Busch of Decatur; Step-Father, Benjamin (Janet) Williams of Middlepoint, OH; brother, Benjamin Jr. (Becky) Williams of Van Wert, OH, sister, Terri Rauch of Decatur and Crystal (Brian) Hill of Van Wert, OH; two grandchildren, Grace and Boston Busch.
