BRYAN EFRAIN PUGA - January 14, 1999 - September 07, 2021

Departed: 09/07/2021 (Corona)
Obituary Preview: Bryan Efrain Puga, 22
Living a life full of fun, adventure, and unpredictability, Bryan Efrain Puga’s life was cut much too short for himself and everyone who loved his presence on September 07, 2021, in Riverside, CA. He made his mark on this earth when he was born on January 14, 1999, in Orange, CA to Jacqueline Bustamante and Luciano Efrain Puga. From an early age Bryan took on a passion for video games, starting with an unrivaled skill at Super Smash Bros on the N64. In fact, his string of luck didn’t just end at video games but trickled to practically every game he played. Whether it was just flicking marbles or a match of yugioh cards, he was sure to win. As he grew older, this passion developed into a love for technology and innovation. Bryan was the guy to go to if there were any questions about computers, video games, or just about any new Apple or Microsoft release. He always had an answer or opinion, and it was usually a good one. Bryan’s outgoing personality, confidence, and good sense of humor gained him many loyal friendships in high school and his football team which lasted him throughout his life. He thoroughly enjoyed the time he spent with his friends and coworkers as he was a paintball and late-night ramen enthusiast. Bryan was also adventurous, at 19 he took his first international trip to the Philippines alone with his cousins, Josue Palma and Ariadna Montes where he came back to the US with a new sense of wanderlust and a hatred for humidity. From then onwards, he continued to seek travel in his trips to Las Vegas, Lake Arrowhead, Big Bear, Florida, and an unfortunate never realized trip to New York this September.
Bryan is survived by his parents Jacqueline Bustamante Herrera and Luciano Efrain Puga and his younger sister Diana Puga as well as by his many cousins, family, friends and all the people who were impacted by him and will continue to carry his memory with them. Visitation is Thursday September 23, 2021, at 4:00pm – 8:00pm at Grimes-Akes Family's "Grace Chapel"  Corona, California Funeral Service is Friday September 24, 2021, at 9:00am at Iglesia Reformada La Senda, Corona, California Graveside Service will follow funeral service at Corona Sunnyslope Cemetery at 11:30am

Frequently Asked Questions

What is an obituary?

An obituary is a written notice that announces the death of a person, typically including their name, age, date of birth and death, and a brief biography. It's usually published in a newspaper, online, or in a funeral program to inform friends, family, and community members of the person's passing.

Why are obituaries important?

Obituaries serve as a way to honor and remember the deceased, while also providing essential information to those who need to know about the funeral arrangements and other details. They can also be a valuable tool for genealogists and historians, as they often contain information about the person's life, achievements, and relationships.

Who writes an obituary?

Typically, the family of the deceased or a close friend writes the obituary. In some cases, a funeral home or crematorium may offer assistance with writing the obituary as part of their services. The writer should aim to capture the essence of the person's life, highlighting their accomplishments, personality traits, and relationships.

What information should be included in an obituary?

A typical obituary includes the person's full name, age, date of birth and death, place of residence, occupation, education, military service (if applicable), hobbies, interests, and surviving family members. You may also want to include any notable achievements, awards, or charitable work.

How long should an obituary be?

The length of an obituary can vary depending on the publication or online platform. Generally, it's recommended to keep it concise, around 150-200 words. However, some publications may allow for longer or shorter notices.

What is the difference between an obituary and a death notice?

A death notice is a brief announcement of someone's passing, usually including only the basic facts such as name, age, and date of death. An obituary, on the other hand, provides more detailed information about the person's life and legacy.

Can I include photos in an obituary?

Yes, many publications and online platforms allow you to include one or more photos with the obituary. This can be a meaningful way to personalize the notice and help readers connect with the person being remembered.

How do I submit an obituary to a newspaper?

Contact the newspaper's obituary department directly to inquire about their submission process and deadlines. Some newspapers may have online submission forms or email addresses where you can send your obituary.

Can I write my own obituary in advance?

Yes, some people choose to write their own obituary in advance as a way to ensure their story is told accurately and with their own voice. This can also be a therapeutic exercise in reflecting on one's life and accomplishments.

How much does it cost to publish an obituary?

The cost of publishing an obituary varies depending on the publication or online platform. Some newspapers may charge by the word or line, while others may offer package deals or discounts for longer notices. Online platforms may offer free or low-cost options.

Can I edit an obituary after it's been published?

In most cases, it's difficult to make changes to an obituary once it's been published. Be sure to proofread carefully before submitting your notice to avoid errors or inaccuracies.

What if I need to correct an error in an obituary?

If you notice an error in an already-published obituary, contact the publication or online platform immediately. They may be able to issue a correction or reprint the notice with the corrected information.

Can I include humor or anecdotes in an obituary?

Absolutely! Obituaries don't have to be somber and serious. Including humorous stories or anecdotes can help celebrate the person's life and personality.

How do I handle sensitive information in an obituary?

If there are sensitive issues surrounding the person's death or personal life, it's best to exercise discretion when writing the obituary. Focus on sharing positive aspects of their life and avoid potentially hurtful or controversial details.

Can I include quotes or lyrics in an obituary?

What if I'm not comfortable writing an obituary myself?

Can I include charitable donations in lieu of flowers in an obituary?

How do I find old obituaries from years ago?

You can try searching online archives of newspapers or genealogy websites that specialize in collecting historical records. Local libraries or historical societies may also have archives of old newspapers containing obituaries.
