George E. Greenwood - March 09, 1930 - July 29, 2015

Obituary Preview: Age 85, passed away July 29, 2015, at St. Paul Villa following a wonderful life. He was born March 9, 1930, in Kaukauna, the son of the late George R. and Helen J. (Madigan) Greenwood. He graduated from St. Norbert High School in 1948 and St. Norbert College in 1952, and was enlisted in the U.S. Army from 1952 until 1954 in Korea, and from 1961 until 1962 in the 32nd Division at Ft. Lewis, Washington. George was active in the Reserves and National Guard until 1965. He was hired as an apprentice funeral director in 1950 and licensed in 1955 after his military service. George owned and operated the Greenwood Funeral Home in Kaukauna, and later was employed by Greenwood-Fargo Funeral Homes until his retirement. He also worked at Kaukauna Cheese from 1995 until 2007. George married Kathleen A. Dernbach at St. Matthew Church in Allouez on August 4, 1951. Kathleen preceded George in death.
He was an active lifelong member of St. Mary Catholic Church. He was also involved in the Heart of the Valley Chamber of Commerce, Kaukauna Lions, Knights of Columbus Council #1033, American Legion Post #41, Kaukauna Elks Lodge #962, life member of VFW Post #3319, and national, state, and Fox River Valley funeral directors associations.
Survivors include children: Michael and Joyce Greenwood of Kaukauna; George F. and Carmen Greenwood of Kaukauna; Mary and Dave Van Wychen of Kaukauna; Christopher and JoAnn Greenwood of Sun Lakes, Arizona; Elizabeth and Don Young Jr. of Sun Lakes, Arizona; Patrick and Gretchen Greenwood of Camp Hill, Pennsylvania; Paul and Kim Greenwood of Appleton; and Susan and Joel Powers of Freedom. He had 23 grandchildren, 24 great-grandkids, and 8 foreign exchange students.
Also surviving are brother and sister-in-laws: Patricia Vanderloop of Hollandtown; Margaret (Peg) Vanevenhoven of Yuba City, California; Tom (Jeannie) Greenwood of Freedom; Jean (Verhagen) Maeder of New Braunsfels, Texas; and Lawrence Greenwood of Little Chute. His wife's family: Bob (Suzi) Dernbach of Appleton; Barbara Dernbach of Marine City, Michigan; and Al Lenss of Minneapolis. George is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife: Kathleen; son: Steve Greenwood; brother: Robert; brothers-in-law: Leon Vanderloop and Tom Vanevenhoven; and members of Kathleen's family: Sylvester and Helen Dernbach, Mitzi "Marilyn" Lenss, Sylvester and Gloria Dernbach, Roger Dernbach, and Ken Dernbach. Dad's favorite place to be was Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, with his many friends. He spent 43 years at the same hotel, Playa Los Arcos. They also were his family. Viva Aguascalientes!!
The funeral liturgy for George will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, August 3, 2015 at ST. MARY'S CHURCH, 119 W. 7th Street in Kaukauna with Fr. Jerry Pastors officiating. Full military honors will follow the mass. Family and friends are invited to gather from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Sunday, August 2, 2015 at the Greenwood Fargo Funeral Home, 500 Hendricks Avenue in Kaukauna, and again on Monday morning from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery in Kaukauna. A memorial fund is being established.
George's family thanks St. Paul Elder Services/Hospice, Dr. Merici Awe and Dr. Patrick Gregory for their kindness and wonderful care of our beloved father.

Raymond "Butch" Baumgarten - March 06, 1921 - June 29, 2015

Obituary Preview: Raymond (Butch) Baumgarten, age 94, passed away at the American Grand Assisted Living Suites in Kaukauna on Monday, June 29, 2015 surrounded by three generations of his loving family. He was born in the town of Buchanan on March 6, 1921, son of the late William and Ellen (Dietzler) Baumgarten. In 1939, he worked as a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps. On February 10, 1942, Ray married the former Mildred Bangart at St. Mary Catholic Church in Kaukauna. From 1942 until 1943 he served in the United States Army, and then farmed in various parts of northeast and central Wisconsin until 1991 before retiring in Kaukauna. During those same years, Ray was also employed by Olson Trucking, Thilmany Pulp and Paper, Keller Implement, Berg Barn Equipment, Kaltenberg Seeds and Wollin Silos. Not only was Ray known for his life of hard, dedicated work, but also for his mischievous sense of humor, and his countless acts of service and kindness to both family and friends.
Ray is survived by his wife, Mildred Baumgarten of Kaukauna; five children (and spouses): Mildred (Edward) Schilling, West Allis; James (Patricia) Baumgarten, Muskego; Jean (Paul) Kostuchowski, Plover; Linda (Jeffery) Akin, Wauwatosa; and William (Lori) Baumgarten, La Crescent, Minnesota; a former daughter-in-law, Judith Baumgarten-Novacek; seventeen grandchildren (and spouses): Ronald (Karen) Schilling, Karen Schilling, Paul (Jennifer) Schilling; Reanna Baumgarten, Deborah (Steven) Anderson, Nicole (Gregory) Goldberg; Jodi Kostuchowski, David (Jennifer) Kostuchowski, Joseph Kostuchowski; Michael (Cheri Wayerski) Baumgarten, Sara (Christopher) Heike, Matthew (Anne) Baumgarten, Sr. Karol Marie Baumgarten; Grant (Tabitha) Akin, Sean Akin; William (Jessica) Baumgarten, and Samantha (Joseph) Rigelsky; twenty-seven great-grandchildren: Alyssa, Kaylee, Sarah, Elise; Casey, Jenna, Gabrielle, Carmen; Aaron, Emily, Logan; Alexander, Brooklyn, Ava, Julia, Meredith, Everett; Ethan, Cael, Aiyana, Kalista, Dorian, Roman, Sailor, Gospel, Worthy, Oxton; and a great-granddaughter due in August! Obituary Preview: Lawrence Paul Bouche peacefully went to his heavenly reward on Thursday morning, December 11, 2014. He was born on July 20, 1914 in Marinette, Wisconsin to Lawrence and Mary (Langer) Bouche. The family moved to Kaukauna in 1934.
Lawrence long aspired to live to the age of 100 and his birthday was joyfully celebrated in July with 30 family and friends in attendance.
Lawrence played the violin and loved listening to his collection of classical music, reciting a copious list of his favorite composers in alphabetical order. In his younger years he was the neighborhood meteorologist, pontificating at length and educating those around him in the science of weather. He was also quite knowledgeable in early electricity and electronics.
Family was precious to Lawrence and he enjoyed many games of sheepshead at holidays and cookouts.
Survivors include his brother: Dr. Raymond R. Bouche of Oxnard, California; his sister: Cecilia M. (Jack) Higgins of Wheaton, Illinois; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Lawrence was preceded in death by his brothers: Robert Bouche and Rev. Dennis G. Bouche; his sisters: Marcella L. Bork and Mary Jane Dreier; his brothers-in-law: Joseph Wimberger, Elmer Bork and Carlon (Bud) Dreier; a sister-in-law: Shirley Bouche; a niece: Elizabeth; a grand-nephew: Jeffrey Cox; and a grand-niece: April.

Obituary Preview: Frances Paschen passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 28, 2013, the morning of her 99th birthday. Frances was born on the family farm in Redgranite, Wisconsin on September 28, 1914, daughter of the late Harry and Anna (Rodencal) Roggow. She graduated from Berlin High School in 1932, and then took secretarial classes. Frances met her future husband, Howard Paschen, at a big band concert at Waverly Beach Ballroom, where they both loved to dance. They were married on June 7, 1941 at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church in Appleton, and shared fifty-seven wonderful years together before his death in 1998. They resided in Kaukauna their entire married lives, and Frances worked as a legal secretary for the McCarty Law Firm, and the Burns Law Firm.
Frances was an active member of Immanuel United Church of Christ where she chaired many committees, a lifetime member of the Kaukauna Lady Elks Club, and a charter member of the Fox Valley Golf Club. She enjoyed golf, playing bridge, and was a very talented artist – she did beautiful stitchery and craft projects.
She is survived by her niece: Gail (Harvey) Jansen of Tucson, Arizona; her nephews: James (Sharon) Rammer of Menasha; John Rammer of Appleton; and Craig (Grazyna) Stockmeier of Ridgeland, Mississippi; and several grand nieces and nephews, including Christina and Lauren who had a special bond with Frances. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother Harold, and her sisters-in-law: Ruth (Joseph) Rammer and Alice (Rev. Leonard) Stockmeier; and a niece Mary Alice Rammer.

Obituary Preview: Jane Schmidt,(nee Casey) of Menasha, age 74, was swept away peacefully to her heavenly home on Thursday, September 12, 2013, with her loved ones by her side. She was born on March 28, 1939, in Appleton, the daughter of the late Paul and Helen (Baeten) Casey. Jane graduated from Kaukauna High School in 1957. She worked for many years at Mike's Town & Country, and retired in 2001 from Piggly Wiggly. Family meant the world to Jane; in her earlier years with her mother and sisters, and then the wonderful times with her children, granddaughter, and great granddaughter.
Jane was one of a kind with her sense of humor and her sarcasm. She was very devoted to her family, loved everyone she met, and touched the lives of those around her. Jane will be remembered for her strength, warm kisses, strong support, and her courage and hope. She had a passion for Precious Moments that she enjoyed to share with everyone.
Jane is survived by her children: Terry Stumpf and Penny (Dave) VandenBoom; grandchildren: Rachelle (Joe Minks) Riemer; Chad (Cori) Westenberger, Tia (Jason) Meade, and Kira Westenberger; great granddaughter: McKenzie; sister: Sandi (Steve) LaDuke; brother-in-law: Pete Rabideau; and special family friend: Carrie Lehrer. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Jane was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Schmidt; and sisters: Judy Koch and Pat Rabideau; brother-in-law: Jim Koch, and her dog, Buffy.

Richard L. Cazzola - November 09, 1949 - October 13, 2012

Obituary Preview: Richard "Dick" Cazzola died on Saturday evening October 13, 2012 at the VA Medical Center in Milwaukee, following a lingering illness at the age 62. Dick was born in Appleton, Wisconsin on November 9, 1949, son of the late Olinto "Joe" Cazzola and Pearl (Fink) Cazzola Walker who resides In Little Chute. Dick entered service in 1967 and served a tour in Vietnam. Dick was later injured in a motorcycle accident early in life that left him disabled and forced him to walk with a use of cane. Even with these disabilities, Dick led a very interesting life at times. In his early years, Dick enjoyed meeting of many friends at his cousin Tommy's Bar, "BOB's Inn"! Known to his friends as "KAZOO", Dick made life interesting for everyone! Dick also enjoyed spending many hours outdoors in the yard, watching over the neighborhood, and visiting the family farm in the Upper Peninsula. Dick was very proud of his antique 1938 Chevy Coupe. He was a very active member of Street Cars and attended and won many trophies with his car at the car shows. Dick was also an active member of the Legion, VFW, and other organizations.
Survivors include his mother: Pearl (Fink) Cazzola Walker of Little Chute; his daughter: Carrie Anne Lockhart (David Johnson) of Aretta, Georgia; four brothers: Fred (Peggy) Cazzola of Kaukauna; Michael (Sarah) Cazzola of Haines City, Florida; David (Gretchen) of Spring Grove, Illinois; and William (Tina) Cazzola of Little Chute; a special aunt: Arlene and several cousins of Kaukauna. He is further survived by uncles Bob and Fred, and other aunts and uncles, all originally from the farm near Foster City, Michigan. There are also many nieces and nephews, and many relatives and good friends. He was preceded in death by his father: Joe Cazzola; his grandparents: Nell and Nick Fink and Linda and Joe Cazzola; and an uncle: Lyle Fink.
A graveside service with full military honors will be held at 3:00 PM, on Friday, November 9, 2012 at ST. MARY CEMETERY in Kaukauna. Following the military honors, the family will return to the Greenwood Fargo Funeral Home, 500 Hendricks Avenue, for a time of visitation and reflection from 4:00 PM until the prayer service at 7:00 PM. Obituary Preview: A gentle heart stopped beating on June 12, 2012. Alice Anna (Wolf) Schneider, age 96, passed away at Cherry Meadows, surrounded by family. She was born in the Town of Buchanan on November 13, 1915, to the late John and Augusta (VanRoy) Wolf.
She married Peter Schneider at Holy Angels Church in Darboy, on January 4, 1941, and they were blessed with four children: John, Charmaine (Clyde) Baumgart, Dennis (Karen), and Karen (Mike) Quaintance. She has eight grandchildren: Chris (Dave) Wenninger, Curt (Laurie) Baumgart, Carrie (Jerry) Witt, Chad (Abbey) Baumgart, Jason (fiancée Tiffany) Schneider, Erin (Nick) Lorang, Ben and Logan Schneider. Alice completes her family with twelve great grandchildren; Tiffani, Meghan, and Austin Wenninger; Weiland and Dylan Baumgart; Morgan, Erin, Mallory, Lindsey and Colin Witt; Ashton Schneider, and Silas Lorang.
She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Peter, in 1997, her sisters and brothers-in-law: Marie (Harry) Jonen, Lucille (Ed) Glasheen, Susie (Ed) Kavanaugh, Elaine (Walter) Donnermeyer; her brother, John, and her husband's family; Steve, Andrew, Paul, and Rudy Schneider, Betty Arnold, Julia Berger, Ann Randall, Margaret Cahill, and Mildred Alexander.
Our Mother was a kind, gentle woman, who worked hard all her life. She was a great seamstress and cook, who taught us many recipes that were handed down from generations before us. You had a long life, but it was time to go join "Pa". He's been waiting a long time. We will all miss you, but your memory lives on in each of us.
We would like to thank Dr. Jennifer Schoening, ThedaCare At Home, and a special thanks to the staff at Cherry Meadows, who took wonderful care of our Mother during this difficult time. The most important "thank you" goes out to our brother, John, who was her caretaker for many years. Without him, we wouldn't have been able to keep her at home as long as we did. Words cannot express our gratitude.

He was born on July 30, 1936 in the Fox Valley, and was united in marriage to Janice Schumacher on April 28, 1962 at St. Mary's Church in Appleton. Robert worked at Thilmany Mill for 44 years working in different areas and retiring as a semi truck driver. Bob loved riding his motorcycle around Wisconsin with Jan as his passenger, and going to different motorcycle rallies.
Robert is survived by his wife of 49 years: Jan of Kaukauna; one sister: Jane Hacker of Sturgeon Bay; and a sister-in-law: Geraldine Onkels of Appleton. Bob is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers: Eugene (Eunice) Onkels and Melvin "Bud" Onkels, and one brother-in-law: Ralph Hacker.
A prayer service for Bob will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, April 19, 2012 at the Greenwood Fargo Funeral Home, 500 Hendricks Avenue in Kaukauna. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 12:00 Noon until the time of the services.

He was a long-time employee of Badger Northland, retiring in 1992. Dan was also a passionate member of AA, a continuing student at Fox Valley Technical College and was an accomplished woodworker. Survivors include his sons, Ken (Melanie) Haen; Gary (Becky) Haen; and Greg (Nicole) Haen; his grandchildren, Dexter and Garrett Haen, and Zach and Ashley Haen; his siblings, Marie Haen, Jim (Bonnie) Haen, Bill (Sue) Haen, and Carleen (Jack) Burns. Janey loved watching TV and her favorite show was One Life to Live. She also liked Dale Earnhardt, Elvis and Christmas and birthdays, especially the cake. Everyone that came in contact with Janey loved her contagious smile. Janey was a member of St. Katharine Drexel St. Mary Church.
Most of all the time spent with Janey was cherished and she will be truly missed by her sister Cheri Sass, Appleton, nieces and nephews; Scott (Lana) Sass, Appleton, Brian Sass, Fort Wayne, Indiana, Aaron "AJ" (Kristin) Sass, Appleton, Tyler (Melissa) Sass, Appleton, Ashley Sass, Appleton, Britt Sass, Appleton and a special friend Mike Sass, Hilbert.

She was born on November 23, 1916 in Kaukauna, the daughter of the late Joseph and Louise (Gatz) Wagner. On April 30, 1945, she married Clayton Watson at St. Mary Catholic Church in Kaukauna. Pearl was a member of St. Katharine Drexel – St. Mary site. She retired from Larry's Piggly Wiggly as a bookkeeper. Pearl was an avid golfer, enjoyed playing cards and working with plastic canvas. Clayton and she looked forward to their time in Florida during the winter months. Reading, walking in the woods and spending time on her computer were some of her passions.
Pearl is survived by her son: Bob Watson, Appleton; nephews and nieces: Tim Eiting; Julie (Jerry) Vondrachek; Tom (Kaye) Eiting; Sandy (John) Mayer and Terry (Dani) Eiting. She is further survived by Clayton's nieces and nephews, other relatives and all her friends at Golden Ventures. Pearl was preceded in death by her husband, Clayton Watson; son, George Watson; and her sister, Charlotte (Ed, Orville) Eiting-Lehman.
The funeral liturgy for Pearl will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, June 12, 2010 at ST. KATHARINE DREXEL – ST. MARY SITE, 119 W. Seventh Street, Kaukauna. Fr. Jerry Pastors will be officiating. Interment will take place at St. Mary Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 12:00 noon until the time of mass. Violet "Vi" Schuh entered eternal life on Tuesday, October 27, 2009. Vi was born to Nicklas and Marian (Row) Licht. She was united in marriage to Leroy Schuh on September 1, 1938. Sadly, Leroy died on February 16, 1964. Throughout her long, healthy life, Vi maintained many hobbies. She loved playing bridge and was a formidable darts opponent. Vi was a fixture in her neighborhood, having lived in the same house her entire life. She was an independent lady, enjoying long walks and taking great pride in her hometown of Kaukauna. Though Vi and Leroy did not have any children of their own, Vi was considered a "grandma" to several of the neighborhood children. Her spirit, sense of humor, and loyal friendship will be greatly missed.
Vi is survived by nieces, June Graeber, Ann Cox, and Marion Hitter, nephews Gary Licht and Roger Potter, and special friends, the Peeters' family. Vi was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Leroy, sister Dolores Potter and brothers Armand, Gerald, Everitt, and Wilfred (Bud) Licht.

Age 87, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at Cherry Meadows in Appleton on Saturday, July 12, 2008. She was born the youngest of 15 children in Sleepy Hollow, Kaukauna on July 20, 1920 the daughter of the late Joseph and Hannah (Auden) Nushart. In 1937 she married her husband of 37 years, Elmer Granger. He preceded her in death in 1974. Josie was well known for being a head cook for Kaukauna Community Hospital for 10 years and for St. Al's hot lunch program for over 30 years until her retirement in 1995. She was known as the "Queen of the Kitchen." Josie was always proud of her "Kids" at St. Al's and they new her through their nickname of "Honey" or a hug.
Josie will be missed by her children: Robert Granger, Ronald "Red" (Colleen) Granger, Raymond (Mary) Granger and Sue (Dan) Desotell; grandchildren: Greg, Gary, Todd, Tiffany, Brian, Kelly, Scott, Mike, Lisa, Amy and Becky; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her 14 brothers and sisters, and a daughter-in-law, Carol.
The funeral liturgy will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at St. Katharine Drexel Parish, ST. MARY'S SITE, 119 W. Seventh St., Kaukauna, with Rev. Jerry Pastors officiating. Judy was born June 28, 1940 in Kaukauna, the daughter of Paul Casey and Helen (Baeten-Casey) Theiesen. She married Jim R. Koch on February 14, 1998. Judy worked at various jobs, most recently at Goss Auto Body for 24 years until her retirement in May 2007. She was a wiz with numbers and loved shopping with her sisters. Judy was often teased by family and friends how meticulously clean she kept her home and she took great pride in manicuring the yard. She also loved collecting Precious Moments. Judy is survived by her loving husband, Jim, Menasha; her sons, Dan (Patti) Parker, Menasha; Tim (Sandra) Parker, Appleton; grandchildren, Ashley, Justin and Kayla Parker, Camille and Casey Parker; step-grandchildren, Mike (Marcia) Selle, Doug (Leanne) Selle, Lisa (Jason) Stachowicz; six step-great grandchildren; sisters, Jane (Carl) Schmidt and Sandi (Steve) La Duke. Judy is further survived by nieces, nephews and many wonderful and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her two sons, Steven and David, her mother, Helen Thiesen, her father, Paul Casey, her stepfather, Frank Thiesen, her grandson, Jameson Parker, her sister, Pat Rabideau and her niece, Deb Rabideau. Funeral service for Judy will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, December 6, 2007, at the funeral home, with Chaplain Lenore Domers officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4 – 8 pm and on Thursday from 10:00 am until the time of the service. A memorial fund has been established in Judy’s name in lieu of flowers.
Judy was a loving, caring, compassionate and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and will be greatly missed. So many people feel blessed to have known her. She fought this battle so hard and she was an inspiration to all of us. Heaven needed a new angel and God chose one of the best.

Marcella was born in Johnsburg, Wisconsin on February 12, 1911, daughter of the late Joseph and Ann (Maloney) Wollersheim. As a young woman, she began working for her uncle, Dr. Peter Wollersheim in Forest Junction. It was in the doctor’s office that she me her future husband, Leonard Willems. She married Leonard in the early 1930’s, and with him raised a family. He passed away in 1967. Later, she married Ervin Tennessen from Hollandtown; Erv preceded Marcella in death in 1993. Over the years, Marcella worked at the White Clover Dairy, Geenen’s Store, and later became the first married woman to work at Thilmany’s. In her earlier years, Marcella enjoyed sewing and was a 4-H Instructor. She also enjoyed playing cards and spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by two sons: Red (Janis “Jin”) Willems of Askeaton and Ron (Cheryl) Willems of West Palm Beach Florida; a step-daughter: Dolores Neuser of Hilbert; eight grandchildren: Tammy (Dave) Quinzer, Troy Willems, Terri (Adam) Hansen, Cindy (Dave) Huebner, Rick (Margy) Miller, Kevin Miller, Jeff Miller, and Kathy (Steve) O’Bright; her grandchildren are David, Brooke, and Steven Quinzer; Courtney Willems, Brittany Miller, and Andrew and Becca O’Bright; two step-grandchildren: Jayna and Jeni Vanden Heuvel; a sister: Ermina Roegner of Appleton. Marcella was preceded in death by her husbands, a daughter Elaine (Bob) Miller, brothers Edwin (Delores) Wollersheim and Alvin Wollersheim, and a brother-in-law Henry Roegner.

Obituary Preview: Audrey Landreman, age 75, passed away very suddenly on Friday, August 24, 2007. Audrey was born in Kaukauna on March 6, 1932, daughter of the late Bruno and Elizabeth (Reichel) Kraft. As a young woman, Audrey worked at Zwicker Knitting Mills in Appleton, and later at Stokely Van Camp, and Romy’s Nightingale. On September 8, 1951, she married James Landreman in Kaukauna; Jim preceded her in death on December 26, 1989. She enjoyed working as a local crossing guard as well as volunteering at the St. Vincent de Paul store. Everyone will remember Audrey as an avid fan of both the Green Bay Packers and the Kaukauna Ghosts. She enjoyed feeding the many birds and small animals that visited her yard, and caring for her vegetable garden. Audrey was a member of the St. Mary’s Altar Society and also sang in the choir for many years. Her two sisters treasured her ability to drive, since they did not – Audrey was designated to drive the threesome to the many rummage sales they visited.
Audrey is survived by two daughters: Betty (Joe) Robedeaux and Karen (Bill) Mueller, both of Kaukauna; two sons: Gary (Sarah) Landreman and Mark (Jean) Landreman, both of Kaukauna; six granddaughters: Nikki (Bill) Boyd, Danni Robedeaux, Tammi (Mark) Bartels, Laurie Landreman, Sarah (Todd) Smits, and Amber Mueller; four great-grandsons: Taylor and Carter Bartels and Cameron and Braeden Boyd; two brothers-in-law: Larry (Maureen) Landreman of Ohio and John (Marilyn) Landreman of Kaukauna; two sisters-in-law: Ruby Landreman of Ohio and Joan Landreman of Kaukauna; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Audrey was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1989, a brother Robert (Mary) Kraft; sisters Margaret (Ralph) Doering and Betty (Earl) Verbeten; a sister-in-law Dolores Landreman; and three brothers-in-law George Landreman, Bill Landreman, and Greg Landreman.

Obituary Preview: Vi Hoelzel, age 74, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Sunday, July 15, 2007 at St. Paul Manor in Kaukauna. She had courageously battled cancer for five years. Vi was born in rural Calumet County on July 6, 1933 and attended Catholic School there. On February 15, 1958, she married Anthony Hoelzel; Tony preceded her in death in 1999. Vi will be remembered by many as a great baker and cook who shared her gifts with others by working at Country Kitchen in Kaukauna and High Cliff Supper Club in Sherwood. She retired in 2001. Vi was a longtime and faithful member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church where she was active by helping with funeral meals and at the church picnics. She also volunteered her time at St. Vincent de Paul. Vi also had a special fondness for Winnie the Pooh, and enjoyed their “company” around the house. She also enjoyed caring for the many plants and flowers at her home. She very much loved her family, and was proud of the accomplishments of her grandchildren.
Survivors include two sons: Kenneth (Theresa) Hoelzel of Sturgeon Bay and their son Chad; and David (Julie) Hoelzel of Kaukauna and their daughter Katelyn; a sister-in-law: Dolores Hoelzel of Darboy; and a cousin and longtime friend Rosie Schneider of Chilton. Vi was preceded in death by her mother, Anna Seckel, and by her two special uncles, Henry Seckel and Matthew “Kelly” Seckel, as well as an infant daughter, Mary.
The funeral liturgy for Vi will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, July 19, 2007 at ST. KATHARINE DREXEL PARISH – St. Al’s Site at 2401 Main Avenue in Kaukauna with Fr. Jerry Pastors officiating. She was born August 23, 1912, to the late Ferdinand and Beatrice (Breier) Meinert in Kaukauna, where she was a resident most of her life. Collette graduated from St. Mary Grade School, Kaukauna High School and attended the Chicago Art Institute. She managed the Neenah Eagles Club in the 1960’s and 1970’s. Collette started painting classes when she was 9. She demonstrated her artistic flair through everything she did including painting, sewing, knitting, decorating and cooking. She was a member of St. Mary of the Annunciation Catholic Church, a charter member of the Fox Valley Rosemalers and Kaukauna Homemakers Club. Survivors include her five children, Joan Treichel, Appleton; Max (Deanna) Wolf, Neenah; John Wolf, Appleton; Mary Britten, Kaukauna; Rebecca (Rick) Baggett, Milton, FL; nine grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; a brother, Jerome (Georgie) Meinert, Las Vegas, NV; a sister, Rosemary (Roger) St. Aubin, Kaukauna; a sister-in-law, Aura Meinert, San Diego, CA; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Henry Wolf, her second husband, Paul Vargo, three granddaughters, Michele Thein and infants Sheila and Mary Britten, a brother, Dr. Kenneth Meinert and a son-in-law, Floyd Treichel.
