He was born August 12, 1964 in Spencer County to the late Edward Rayon and Gladys Rachel Mobley Nichols. Bill was a farmer, was a former employee of Ford and Purnell’s Sausage and he hauled scrap metal. He was big hearted and loved everyone. He was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Johnny Nichols and 2 sisters, Catherine Lee Nichols and Crystal Gail Nichols.
He is survived by his son, John William “Little Bill” Nichols (Sara Bailey) of Crestwood, 2 sisters, Gail (Danny) Philpot of Munfordville, Jane (Kent) Roby of Mt. Washington, 3 grandchildren, Tyler Bailey, John William Nichols, Jr., Thomas Edward Nichols, as well as many others that were like grandchildren to him.
Funeral services will be 12:00 pm Monday, May 6, 2024 at the Greenwell-Houghlin Funeral Home in Taylorsville. Interment will be in Valley Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00-8:00 pm and Monday after 9:00 am. The Greenwell-Houghlin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Obituary Preview: Mrs. Marcia Rodman Taylor age 92 passed away Thursday, April 18, 2024 at Flaget Memorial Hospital. She was born on June 8, 1931 in Fairfield to the late Rodman and Vina Downs Sales. Marcia was a homemaker and worked on the family farm. She was a member of Bloomfield Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents she was preceded by her husband, William E. “Bill” Taylor, and two grandchildren, Jaclyn Brooke Taylor and Austin Collier Taylor.
Marcia is survived by her 3 sons, Terry Taylor of Cocoa Beach, FL., Scott (Patricia) Taylor of Kalaheo, HI, Todd Taylor of Palm Springs, CA, a brother, Donald (Maxine) Sales of Salem, IN and her granddaughter, Mallory Taylor of Tampa, FL., her special friends, Sandy Coulter, Mary Lou Muir Crume, Helen Stephens and Dottie McGee.
Funeral services for Mrs. Marcia Taylor will be 2:00pm, Thursday, April 25, 2024 at the Houghlin Funeral Home with Bro. Richard Carwile officiating. Interment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 11:00-2:00pm at the Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield. The family request that in lieu of flowers contributions go to the Nelson County Humane Society.

Antonelli of Ringwood, New Jersey, as well as several uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Tanya Lynn Goodlett Spaulding - December 14, 1959 - April 12, 2024

Obituary Preview: Tanya Lynn (Goodlett) Spaulding went to live her heavenly life on Friday, April 12, 2024. She was surrounded by love and her family during her peaceful passing.
Tanya was born to Roy and Mildred Goodlett of Taylorsville, KY where she grew up in a household full of love. She had a brother Doug Goodlett, two sisters Gilda (Goodlett) Levine, and Laray Goodlett, as well as dozens of aunts, uncles, and cousins who all loved her dearly. She was a graduate of Spencer County High School c/o 1977. After High school she attended the University of Kentucky and graduated with a degree in Recreational Therapy. While at UK she met her first husband and father of her children Reza Danesh. They were soon married and started their life together in Paducah, KY where they opened the first ever delivery pizza restaurant in Western KY, Domino's. Tanya contributed to the community in many ways, she was a founding member of the Potting Shed Garden Club, active member of The Paducah Charity League, a volunteer to many organizations including Easter Seals, and an avid USTA tennis player winning several local and state championships.
Tanya raised three daughters who loved her immensely, Tasha, Parisa, and Kiana. She gave her life to her children, truly teaching them unconditional love. She was later given the title Best Gigi Ever by her Eight grandchildren, Conrad, Elliot, Lynnie, Bo, Ezra, Cyrus, Nyla, and Theo. Her Grandchildren saw Tanya as the light of their lives and lived for every moment they got with Gigi.
In 2009 Tanya met her devoted husband Michael Spaulding and they were married in 2011. Tanya and Mike lived together in Paducah several years where they co-owned Dunkin' Donuts. They spent their years together playing tennis and pickleball, traveling the US by RV, and surrounding themselves with the love of many dear friends. They eventually retired to Fort Myers, FL where they had made even more memories and friends at Gulf Harbour.
She is preceded in death by her Mother and Father, Roy and Mildred Goodlett, sister Laray Goodlett, sister Gilda (Moe) Levine. She is survived by her husband Michael Spaulding, Her daughters Tasha (Scott) Morris, Parisa (Chris) Clarke, Kiana (Steven) Shaffer, Stepdaughter Caitlin (Edgar) Valdez, Stepson Zac Spaulding, her grandchildren Conrad Morris, Elliot Morris, Ezra Shaffer, Cyrus Shaffer, Nyla Shaffer, Annalynn Clarke, James Clarke, Theo Valdez, Her brother Doug (Kathryn) Goodlett, several cousins, nieces and nephews, Reza Danesh, and her Persian family.
Tanya's life is best explained as a life filled with love and her one of a kind laughter. She was an incredible shopper, avid card player and the immediate light in every room she entered. She truly left a little sparkle wherever she went.
Funeral services will be 10:00 am Saturday, April 20, 2024 at the Greenwell-Houghlin Funeral Home in Taylorsville. Bro. Stephen Puricelli will officiate. Interment will be in Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home Friday from 4:00-8:00 pm.

Obituary Preview: A Taylorsville resident, Mr. Timothy Everett Brewer, age 61 passed away Tuesday April 9, 2024 at University of Louisville Hospital. He was born August 17, 1962 in Louisville, Ky. to the late Herman Russell and Martha Minyard Brewer (Ireland). He was a U.S. Army Veteran with 21 years of service, a former Spencer County Magistrate for the Waterford District and the founder of the Spencer County 4-H Shooting Sports. He worked tirelessly to get lights at the Ray Jewell Park. He was a fierce advocate for children and families in Spencer County and worked in baseball, softball & bowling leagues in Spencer County. He was a member of the Taylorsville Moose Lodge # 2127, as well as a Kentucky Colonel but his greatest accomplishment was being called Papaw.
He is preceded by his step-father, John Ireland.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Rachel Noe Brewer, 1 daughter Brandy (Katie) Brewer of Jeffersonville, Ind. 1 son, Sean (Tamara) Brewer of Bedford, Ky., 2 brothers Herman Russell (Rose) Brewer Jr. of Mt. Washington and Rodney Brewer of Brandenburg, Ky. 1 half sister Tonya (Mike) Byrns and 1 half brother John Ireland both of Shepherdsville, Ky. 5 Grandchildren also survive, Mallorie, Adaline, Henry, Emma & Georgia. Funeral services for Mr. Timothy Everett Brewer will be Tuesday April 16, 2024 at 12:00 noon at Taylorsville Community Church. Bro Chad Goodlett & John Clemens will officiate. Interment will be in Valley Cemetery. He is survived by his wife of 60 and a half years, Patricia “Pat” Brodka Reynolds, 3 children, Debbie (Danny) Hardin of Taylorsville, Kentucky, Shelli (Tony) Pluta of Wellington, Ohio, Greg Reynolds of Indiana, 5 grandchildren, Lyndsey (Hiram) Campbell, Kelcey (Christian) Petersen, Will (Erica) Eldridge, Seth Pluta, Micayla Pluta, 4 great grandchildren, his sister, Betty Bonecutter of West Virginia, his brother, Ricky Reynolds of Lorain, Ohio, and his best guitar friend, Boyd Rogers.

Tom was an Exalted Ruler of the BPOE #1812 in El Cajon, CA and was a member of the Middletown VFW Post 1170. He and his wife were avid campers, and he loved Duke and UofL basketball.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Stephen Eugene Stark, and 4 siblings, James F. Stark, Alfred Duane Stark, Beverly Ann Stark, and Marvin Max Stark.
He is survived by his sweetheart of 68 years, Marlene Brown Stark, his children, Yolanda Sue, Teresa Anne, Daniel Thomas (Jebb), his grandchildren, Kelli (Jesse), Ryan, Clayton (Sarah), Charolette (Carlos), his great grandchildren, Kyle, Chloe, Allyson, Caitlyn, Jack, Maci, Jaxon, Mia, Olivia, and Ethan, his great-great grandchild, Jayden, and 4 siblings, Kenneth Lee, Douglas Ray, Janice Kay, and Rosemary. Several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends also survive.

Joyce was a former Nurse’s Assistant at Norton Women’s and Children’s Hospital for 30 years, a member of Grace Chapel, a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who made her family feel special. She was a strong woman of God that loved the Lord with all her heart and loved serving at her church. She served as the pianist for many years making a joyful noise unto the Lord and was the church Mom to many through the years making a lasting impression on their lives. She will always be loved and never forgotten.

He is also survived by his children Megan Coots Broemmer (Chip) of Springfield, Missouri; Kelly Coots Dorman (Rachael) of Shelbyville, Kentucky; Robert M. Coots Jr. of Taylorsville, Kentucky; Samuel Taylor Coots (Kelsey) of Louisville, Kentucky; John Wilson Coots of Louisville, Kentucky; Katie Coots Drake (Jeremy) of Taylorsville, Kentucky and Andrew Coots (Liz) of Frankfort, Kentucky. Bob was a 1962 graduate of Taylorsville High School where he played forward on the THS Bears Basketball team. He went on to receive both his BS and JD from the University of Kentucky in 1966 and 1969 respectively. While attending the University of Kentucky, he was an active member and officer of Alpha Gamma Rho. He opened his law office in 1969 in Taylorsville where he practiced law for over 50 years. He was elected and served as Spencer County Attorney for 25 years. Bob was a member of First Baptist Church in Taylorsville. He was a Kentucky Colonel, former member of the Spencer County Rotary Club and former member of the Spencer County Chamber of Commerce. He also served as Chairman of Kentuckiana Regional Planning & Development Agency (KIPDA) and was instrumental in the Taylorsville Lake Project and the Spencer County Health Department. Bob also served by appointment to Kentucky Tourism Council. Active in Democratic politics, Bob attended Gubernatorial inaugurations in Kentucky and attended the 1996 inauguration of President William J. Clinton. The highlight of his legal career was his appointment as a Special Justice to the Supreme Court of Kentucky by Governor Steve Beshear.
During his free time Bob enjoyed farm life, where he drove his Kawasaki Mule, enjoying the nature around him. As an avid Kentucky Wildcats fan, he attended games at Commonwealth Stadium and traveled to Regional SEC games. He faithfully followed news coverage of current events and was an avid reader, especially books of historical fiction. He enjoyed traveling domestically and abroad, spending time at the beach and antiquing with Sunny. His cherished times were family gatherings and time spent with his beloved grandchildren.
