Departed: 11/13/2023 (New Iberia)
Obituary Preview: Kameran James Bedsole passed from this earth on November 13th, 2023, at his residence in New Iberia, LA. He was 36 years of age. Kameran was born on April 25th, 1987, in New Iberia, LA. He graduated high school from St. Gabriel School in Baton Rouge, LA. He was the son of Thomas Allen Bedsole (deceased) and his mother, Kim Migues Herman, along with his stepmother, Marla Bedsole, and stepfather, James Herman. Kameran had two half-brothers, Jeremy Bedsole and Jason Bedsole. Kameran will be dearly missed by his daughter Kylah, whom he loved with all of his heart, along with Kylah’s mother, Rebecca Segura. From a very young age, Kameran enjoyed working with his hands. He learned bricklaying from his stepfather, James, when he was just 14 years old and later began to work offshore in the oil and gas industry. For those who were close to him, Kameran was a jokester that was always trying to make people laugh. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and loved to cook for them any chance he had. Kameran enjoyed fishing and spending time in the garden with Kylah. He especially loved his longtime K-9 friend, Bama. Kameran, Bama, and Kylah had a very special relationship. God was certainly at work throughout Kameran’s life. Baptized at 12 years of age, Kameran felt a calling from God to serve the needs of others. He joined a church group to Juarez, Mexico for a mission trip to serve the impoverished people there. That trip kindled a desire within him to serve the Lord that never went out. He was planning another trip to Africa and was excited to rededicate his life to Jesus Christ. Though his life was not perfect, we find comfort in scripture. 2 Corinthians 12:9 “He (Jesus) said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore, most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.” A Celebration of Life Service will be held at First Assembly of God Church located at 3555 Verot School Rd., Youngsville, LA on Saturday December 9th, at 2 pm.

Lance always knew his destiny was to be a racer.  As a child he began racing motocross and go carts.  During his adult career he broke both wrists in a motocross crash. This injury was the catalyst that redirected his focus to the sport of drag racing.
On May 29th, 2004, in Pacific Junction, IA, Lance shattered the elapsed time in his class. One month later on June 26th, 2004, in Bowling Green, KY, he broke the national mph record, and in 2005 had countless wins and broke many more records.
In April of 2006, Lance nearly lost his life in a devasting crash at the top end of the racetrack. The result of that crash was a broken leg and the loss of his arm.
Over time he endured several surgeries. Through his strength and determination, he overcame a multitude of obstacles. In 2009 Lance was ranked #2 in the Pro Mod Motorcycle Championship standings. He reached speeds of 160 mph with only one arm.
If Lance was not on a racetrack, he was working on vehicles, helping all who asked, especially if the task at hand was a challenge, in church or spending time with his children.  His children were his life.  He was an amazing father, son, brother, and friend who will be missed by many. He is now an angel who lives in our hearts and watches over us all. Race on Lance

Allen T LeBlanc - February 15, 1945 - June 27, 2023

Departed: 06/27/2023 (New Iberia)
Obituary Preview: NEW IBERIA - Allen T. LeBlanc, 78, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 27, 2023, as he wished: at home surrounded by his loving family. Mr. LeBlanc was a native of Vermilion Parish and in recent years, a resident of Iberia Parish.
Visitation will be held at Greene Funeral Home, 802 Weldon Street in New Iberia Friday, June 30, 2023, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM.  Deacon Russell Hayes will recite the rosary at 6:00 PM.
In his early years, Mr. Allen, or Pop as he was affectionately called by all who knew and loved him, served in the National Guard. He retired from the Vermilion Parish School Board with 25 years of service. He was very proud of this accomplishment. He enjoyed working for the Vermilion Parish School Board and often said he wished he could go back to work for them again. Pop did all he could to join in parties, celebrations, crawfish boils, casino trips and so much more. Drinking coffee and visiting with his friends and family brought him great joy.
Pop loved listening and dancing to Cajun French music. As a true Cajun being bedridden did not stop him. He danced to his beloved Cajun music in his bed.
We, the Istre family gladly took Pop under our wings and into our hearts as he resided with us for over 4 years. We compassionately loved him, cared for him, and understood how to communicate with him. He often told us that he didn’t know what he had done to deserve a family that loved and cared for him so much. I, Judy, often told him that God returns to us what we give to others. His reply was that his return was ten times more than he gave.
We shared many days, laughter, and tears as we journeyed through this life together. Our family made so many great memories with him as he had a very special place in all of our hearts. The greatest part of our journey together was watching him fall in love with us as he became a member of our family. The Istre family learned many things from Pop and his years of experience.  He firmly believed in the Golden Rule: "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." These words are his legacy to us!!
He was proud of and is survived by two sons, Marshall LeBlanc of Kaplan, LA, and David LeBlanc of California. One daughter, Lisa LeBlanc of Kaplan, LA; 8 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, and nephews. All who loved him deeply and will miss him dearly. Pop is also survived by his extended family---The Istre’s of New Iberia.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Cathy LeBlanc (whom he missed every day and often told us so), his parents, Etienne and Louisa LeBlanc; brothers, Leewood, Simon, and Lonnie LeBlanc; and sister Rita Lou Norris.
Our family would like to thank all that prayed for Pop and were there for him in his time of need. We would like to thank Bridgeway Hospice for helping us navigate through this difficult time. We would like to thank Dr. Cousin, the staff at Iberia Medical Center, and Ochsner Lafayette General Hospital for their care and help during Pop’s medical journey.
We would like to express our sincere thanks to Ms. Pauline Greene with Greene Funeral Home for being so compassionate and for guiding us through difficult decisions at such an emotional time. The thorough information and options that she provided enabled us to make our selections for Pop with confidence.
The immeasurable value of this comfort, confidence, and peace will help us to begin healing. Pauline also assured us that as Pop’s family and friends, we truly gave our all to honor, respect, and give “Our Pop” the abundance of love and dignity he deserved at the end of his life here on earth. Our Pop is embarking on his next journey with Jesus where he is at peace and made well again!
The Istre family chose Greene Funeral Home in New Iberia to be in charge of the arrangements.
