Anthony Leonard Morris - February 19, 1958 - April 17, 2024

Departed: 04/17/2024 (Bronx)
Obituary Preview: Anthony Leonard Morris was born February 19, 1958 in Charleston, South Carolina to the late Joseph Brown and Eva-Mae Morris-Rawlins; also preceding him in death is his stepmother Ottis Brown. His formative years were spent in NYC as he attended Morris High School in the Bronx, NY. Anthony had a passion for fixing and cleaning things. He developed and perfected his skills at F.E.G.S. Trade and Business School, Brooklyn, NY, receiving a Certificate in Custodial Maintenance. Because of Anthony’s love for fixing and cleaning he was known as “Mr. Fix It!” His great work ethic led him to many porter, custodian and maintenance jobs such as working for Services for the Underserved (SUS), Brooklyn, VIP Services in the Bronx, and Women in Need, Brooklyn. His last place of employment was Maimonides Medical Center, Brooklyn, from July 2020 until his passing. He was a hard worker and very proud of his work and this was evident by his favorite song he loved to sing: “Clean Up what I’ve messed up. I’ve gotta clean up what I’ve messed up. I’m starting my life over again!” September 16, 2001, Anthony joined Morning Star Full Gospel Assembly and quickly acclimated himself into ministry serving with the Audio Video Ministry, Cleaning Committee, Outreach, Detox and Street Ministries. February 25, 2014 he was appointed to the service of Missionary where he had the opportunity to share his testimony of how “God cleaned him up and he was starting his life over again.” Anthony was best known for wearing “suits of many colors”, as he was a bright dresser. On June 2, 2012 he married Missionary Dothlyn Dunkley and miraculously his suit colors of choice became a simple blue. During the past few years, Anthony dealt with many health challenges but whenever he had to be admitted into the hospital his favorite saying was, “I Trust God!”
Cherishing Anthony’s memories are his daughter, Shamika Rawlins; son, Anthony Morris Jr.; step-daughters, Kendra Carelock (Brandon), Tashann McDowell (Americo); stepsons, Kevin Dunkley (Dionne), and Christopher Dunkley; sisters, Sandra Morris Rawlins, Michelle Lyna (June), Lutrica Hopins (Maurice), Eileen Brown-Johnson (Frankie), and Cusheena Brown; brothers, Joseph Geathers, Melvin Geathers (deceased), Eugene Brown and Jamel Brown; grandchildren, Lloyd Henry Jr., Anthony Morris III, Sapphire Morris; five step-granddaughters; three step-grandsons, and two step-greatgrandchildren, many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends.

Leonna Roberston-Wright - November 20, 1957 - April 16, 2024

Departed: 04/16/2024 (Bronx)
Obituary Preview: Today, we gather heavy hearts saturated with sorrow and love to bid farewell to our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, Leonna Robertson-Wright, otherwise known as ‘Grace’. We find ourselves grappling with the loss of a woman who was our guiding light; our pillar of strength; and our source of unconditional love. We aim to honor her memory and celebrate the life of such an extraordinary, strong, virtuous woman, who in all her being, was unwavering in her love for us.
Born on November 20th, 1957, in Good Hope District, St Elizabeth Jamaica, to Hubert and Lurline Robertson, our mother’s life story was one of compassion, integrity, resilience, and an indominable spirit. The second of six girls, she grew up in a humble household in this small community where she embraced the value of family, sisterhood, and friendships to develop something so beautiful within herself that anyone who knew her, enjoyed. One of those beautiful friendships blossomed into a true love story with her best friend, Ensign.
On November 1st, 1980, Leonna and Carol (Ensign) Wright put pen to paper and sealed their love at the Sharon Baptist Church in Santa Cruz, Jamaica. This union later produced 4 children—Nakia whom she often referred to as “mi one boy”, and 3 girls (Kaye Dee, Rokae, and Knikae). In forty-four years of matrimony, my mother’s love for her husband and children was luminous and unfathomable. She made immeasurable sacrifices to protect, provide, and ensure that her family was always happy and comfortable.
Leonna started her education as a young girl at Park Mountain Primary School, where she completed the 6th grade and continued to Lacovia High School for her secondary education. She then enrolled in Bethlehem Moravian College in Malvern, Jamaica as one of the first batch of attendees. There, she developed a passion for teaching and developing young minds. She had a knack for nurturing students who, to this day, have not forgotten her principles and character. Many have called her “my favorite teacher” throughout a fruitful career that began in 1979 and continued until 2001 when she retired from the public school system. Her love for children was so strong it moved her to return to the classroom in the private sector at Santa Cruz Preparatory School until she retired a second time. Then, she went back to teaching at Roseville Preparatory School and retired shortly after for the third time at 60 years old.
Our dear mother was a very dedicated member of the Joyland Mennonite Church in her community, where she attended from childhood and ultimately became a Deaconess. She served her Church and community well in all aspects of the Christian mission, and consistently left positive footprints in every path she crossed. She was frequently helpful with no hesitation to use her knowledge, skills, and ability to uplift others. She taught her children not to be selfish—that what you give would be returned to you tenfold. She was persistent in prayer. Taught love, kindness, humility, gratitude, optimism, discipline, dedication, a hardworking attitude, turn the other cheek, and let the Lord have his way.
Mommy, your departure leaves an irreplaceable void, but your legacy will continue to guide and inspire us. Thank you for the unconditional love, the invaluable lessons, and the beautiful memories that will always give light to our journey. You are loved more than words can express, and you will be sorely missed, more than you would’ve imagined. Tears have no weight, but they carry heavy feelings. Stories of you will live on through your husband, your children, grandchildren, sisters and brothers, nieces, sons and daughter-in-law, past students, and all those who had gotten the opportunity to experience your contagious spirit. Grace, oh woman of God, you are indelible… Grace, you were the epitome of your name. We love you effortlessly!

He was born to the late Reginald and Ruby Ross on November 14, 1938, in St. Kitts. At 12 years old, William immigrated to the United States alongside his three brothers (Clarence, Winston, and Frank).
Raised by his aunt and uncle in Yonkers, New York, William attended Commerce High School, where he excelled academically and graduated with the class of 1957. In the following years, William met his devoted and loving wife Myrna. Together they raised two children, Mark Craig Ross and Kellie Nicole Ross Johnson in a home filled with love, joy and nurturing support.
Driven to empower others through education, William later served as an Associate Professor at Westchester Community College and then as an Assistant Director at the SUNY Westchester Educational Opportunity Center. William's commitment to education extended beyond the classroom, as evidenced by his involvement as an elected member of the Greenburgh Central School Board of Education, where he served as president. I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live. And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this? John 11:25 - 26.
