Barbara Lynn Hyde - March 17, 1959 - March 08, 2021

Departed: 03/08/2021 (Maiden)
Obituary Preview: Barbara, or as many called her "Bobbie," was a person who loved deeply and selflessly. She worked as a Child Development Center director and cared and advocated for any child no matter how complex the situation was. She loved giving presents and making people feel loved in anyway she could. She was known for throwing creative and fun birthday parties. She was also known for hoping in a car and driving long distances to be there for those in need. She appreciated the simple things in life, such as feeding seagulls, playing with children, flowers and going to garage sales with her husband. She loved talking to her kids, and would always encourage us to open up with her. She wanted to know how her loved ones were doing at all times. She loved the ocean so much that her wishes are for her remains be scattered there. In Barbara's final days, she told Gordon, her husband, that she thought she was dying and she was sorry to leave him. The last words Amanda heard from Barbara were, "Love you. Go be with dad." One of her final wishes was for others to treat Covid 19 seriously. Covid 19 was the cause of her demise. She lived sacrificially. She prioritized other people's needs over her own, always. Many have described Barbara as one of the best women they have known. Others have also said she was a mother figure/second mom to them. She will be incredibly missed. In leau of flowers, if you want to donate on Barbara's behalf, please donate to the SECU Family House. www.familyhousews.org The service is 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 13, 2021 at Illumine Church1262 Riverchase Blvd, Rock Hill, SC 29732 (It is the building behind Starbucks) If you would like to view the service, it will be streamed live on the Illumine Facebook page. What information should be included in an obituary?

A typical obituary includes the deceased person's name, age, date of birth and death, place of residence, occupation, education, military service, hobbies, and surviving family members. It may also include details about their life story, accomplishments, and personality traits.

How long should an obituary be?

The length of an obituary can vary depending on the publication or online platform where it will be published. Generally, it should be concise and to the point, ranging from a few sentences to several paragraphs.

Can I include photos in an obituary?

What is the difference between an obituary and a death notice?

A death notice is a brief announcement of a person's passing, typically including only basic information such as name, age, and date of death. An obituary, on the other hand, provides more detailed information about the person's life and legacy.

What if I'm unsure about what information to include in an obituary?

If you're struggling with what details to include in an obituary, consider consulting with family members, friends, or a funeral home staff member for guidance. They can help you craft a fitting tribute that honors your loved one's life.

Is there anything else I should know about writing an obituary?

Above all, remember that writing an obituary is a labor of love. Take your time, be thoughtful in your words, and strive to capture the essence of your loved one's life. The end result will be a beautiful tribute that celebrates their memory for years to come.
