Velma Samsel Fenner Hrametz, devout Christian, loving wife, loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away January 12, 2024 at the age of 86.
She was born on March 11, 1937 in Kenedy Texas to Alfred O. Samsel and Angela Reiley Samsel. She belonged to St. Paul's Lutheran Church where she was baptized, confirmed and married.
Velma was later a member of Immanuel Lutheran in Alice, Texas and at Peace Lutheran in Rosenberg, Texas. Her craft of making homemade soap had her labeled as "Soap Lady" at the local banks and churches where she shared her homemade gifts. She was also a Certified Graphologist in handwriting analysis, and a gifted reflexologist. Her love and talent of China painting left us all with classic pieces of her painted collections. The Astro's especially Altuve #27 was another favorite of hers. Baseball season will not be the same without her dedication to them.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, her first husband Franklin Fritz Fenner and her only son, Clayton L. Fenner.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory is her husband of 48 years, Andrew Hrametz of Rosenberg, Texas, her daughters, Rhonda Davis (Brian), and Gaynell Franki (Greg). Five grandchildren, Ashley Landers (Cory), Cassandra Herschbach-Quast (Jeremy), Kristen Franki (Christian), Franchesca Franki, Braeden Terry (Kristen), and GG to seven great children.
A memorial service will be held on January 26, 2024 at Peace Lutheran Church Rosenberg, Texas at 11:00 am. Graveside services will be held at the Kenedy Cemetery, Kenedy, Texas at 11:00 am on January 27, 2024 under the direction of Eckols Funeral Home, Kenedy, Texas. Obituary Preview: Ms. Rosa Ruth Davis, known to many as Mama Rose or Nana, was born on December 26, 1957 to the late Willie L. Davis and Mard E. Davis.
As a young child, Rosa was baptized and accepted Christ as the head of life at Pleasant Green Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Wiley Toaston. Rosa attended and graduated from John Foster Dules High School. After graduation, she held several jobs which included Jack in the Box, KLLM Truck Driving and Home Healthcare. Her final place of employment was Lamar Consolidated ISD Transportation where she worked for over 20 years until she retired in 2021. Rosa’s most treasured job, however, was being a NANA to her grandchildren and her many great nieces and great nephews.
On November 20, 2023, Rosa transitioned from this life to her Heavenly home with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She is preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, and 1 sister.
Rosa leaves to cherish and celebrate her life and memories her Life-Long Partner: Larry Jackson, 1 Son: Brandon Jackson (Nicole), 1 Daughter: Kimberly Jackson, 1 Brother: Willie Harris, 2 Sisters: Magdalene Johnson and Tammy Nurse; 13 Grandchildren: Khyleigh, Caleb, Nya Jaylen, KeiShaun, Zamariah, K’Myah, Za’Niyah, Jaydon, Serinity, Paydon, Heaven’Lei, and Tiana, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Rosa was the caregiver of the family. She supported and cared for anyone that crossed her path. She was strong and determined and never let any obstacles stand in her way. She had a smile that lit up the room and we knew that light was LOVE. She was a great mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend and will truly be missed by all of her loved ones. “Rejoice, and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in Heaven.” Matthew 5:12 NKJV

He was employed at Dresser Industries, self-employed as a Courier Driver, and Commercial Fisherman. His driving experience led to him being employed by FBISD in the Transportation Department for approximately 30 years, where he worked diligently until his health began to fail. Micheal loved fishing or talking about fishing.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Mattie B McDonald, and brother Joe Earl McDonald.
Michael Odell McDonald went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 11, 2023.
He leaves to lovingly remember him, his son Marcus McDonald, 4 brothers and 2 sisters: Vera Anderson (Johnnie) of Hitchcock, Tx, Carolyn Bennett of Mesquite, Tx, David McDonald of Richmond, TX., Stephen McDonald, Sherman McDonald (Vivian) of Richmond TX, and Kenard McDonald of Jacksonville, FL and a host of nephew’s cousins, friends and acquaintances.

Obituary Preview: Rev. Dr. Jackie Lee Gilmore, Sr. was born on October 8th, 1960 to the union of Maurice Gilmore & Doris Wilson in Houston, TX.
Dr. Gilmore attended Lamar Consolidated High School in Rosenberg, TX, and later transferred and graduated from Gregory Lincoln High School in Houston in 1979.
Dr. Gilmore accepted Christ at an early age. During his youth, he was a member of the Mt. Hebron Baptist Church of Houston. He also attended Greater Zachery Missionary Baptist Church with his grandmother.
Dr. Gilmore was united in holy matrimony with Tyron Bernice Noel on November 5th, 1983 in Fulshear, TX. From their union, they were blessed with four sons: Jackie Lee Jr., Torey Jamol, Julius Bernard, and Justin Maurice.
Dr. Gilmore enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, & grandchildren whom he loved dearly. He also enjoyed supporting the youth of the church & the community. He could always be seen throughout the city; Whether it was at the local barbershop, bank or store, he was always offering prayer and encouragement, along with a laugh and a smile.
Dr. Gilmore spent years working for Fort Bend County Road and Bridge, Allied Distributing Company, and Allied Concrete, where he was given the nickname “Flash”.
The greatest of Dr. Gilmore’s service came when he accepted God’s call to the ministry. He preached his 1st sermon “Jesus is on the Main Line” on March 2nd, 1997. He was later installed as the 14th Pastor of Greater Missionary Baptist Church in 2001.
Pastor Gilmore’s zeal for the Word led him to pursue formal biblical education. He attended Kingdom Builders Bible Seminary, where he received his Bachelors, Masters, & Doctoral degrees. His dissertation was entitled “Salvation: God’s Greatest Gift to Humanity”.
Dr. Gilmore was pivotal in the growth and progression of God’s church. In 2011, God led Dr. Gilmore on the journey to rebuild Zachery. In 2016, he, along with the congregation walked into a new sanctuary, debt free. Dr. Gilmore set in place a Board of Trustees to help oversee the church. He also implemented a scholarship fund for youth who desired to pursue higher education.
Dr. Gilmore loved and served the City of Fulshear throughout the years. He notably served on the Economic Development Corporations Board for over 12 years. He worked with the Chamber of Commerce, and was also the overseer of the Fulshear Black Cemetery.
Reverend Dr. Jackie Lee Gilmore stepped out of time and into eternity on October 23rd, 2023.
He was preceded in death by his Grandmother, Minnie Gilmore; Father, Maurice Gilmore; Mother Doris Wilson Wade; Uncle, Lloyd Randle; Aunt/ Mother Viola Randle; Sister Kathleen VanWright, Cousin Jean Sterling, and Godson Ernest Harper.
He leaves to cherish his memory: His beloved Wife of 39 years, Tyron Bernice Gilmore; four sons, Jackie Jr., Torey (Whitney), Julius Sr, & Justin Gilmore; Nine Grandchildren, Tyler & Autumn (Jackie Jr.), Ava & Brooklyn (Torey), Breanna, Julius Jr., Javion, & Joseph (Julius Sr.), and Jah’mir (Justin); Siblings Carol Smith, Robert Wilkins (Margaret), Albert Wilkins (Kathleen), and Kelvin Wilkins; Mother in law, Mrs. Beatrice Noel; 5 brothers-in law, 5 sisters-in-law, one Goddaughter Tamara Thibodeaux Jackson, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
