Survivors include 10 children- Mike Deater (wife Lori) of Edinburgh, Wendy Hartwell (husband Jeff) of Shelbyville, Ryan Slevin (wife Erin) of Franklin, William Allen Slevin (wife Tammy) of Shelbyville, Steve Slevin (wife Laura) of Texas, Amanda Carlton (husband Harlan) of Texas, Iris Bachman (husband Solomon) of Texas, Gene Slevin Jr. (wife Farrah) of Texas, Valeria Slevin ( David Bowling) of Florida, Dustin Slevin (wife Cassi) of Florida; 4 siblings- Gene Sheffer (wife Celia) of Michigan, Don Sheffer (wife Margaret) of Michigan, Linda Zimonich of Michigan, Karen Muskovin (husband Dave) of Michigan; 25 grandchildren and several great-grand children. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Mrs. Slevin lived in this area since 1978 after previously moving from Michigan. She attended High School in Michigan and was a member of Lewis Creek Wesleyan Church. She had been employed as  a manager at Burger Chef and Hardee's for 20 plus years, retiring in 1997. Mary enjoyed camping, fishing, and spending time with her family.
Funeral services will be 10:30 am, Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Rd, with Pastor David Gates officiating. Burial will be in Patterson Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday evening, April 25, 2022 from 4:00-7:00 pm at the funeral home.

Survivors include his parents of Shelbyville; fiancé Shawntel "Bug" Thompson of Whitestown; grandparents Jim & Karen Green, and Peggy Tillison all of Shelbyville; 4 children- Kyzen Cain Troy-Lee Tillison of Whitestown, Jayden Stamps of Greenwood, Alizae Fuquay of Whitestown, Aaliyah Fuquay of Whitestown; 3 sisters- Kirsten Nolan of Denver Colorado, Kristian Nolan of Shelbyville, Kylea Lloyd of Anderson; and is also survived by several aunts and uncles including Travis Tillison of Waldron, Tommy Tillison of Homer. Lydia Tillison of Waldron, Jamie Green of Lafayette, Scott Thomas of Florida; and his 2 dogs Nikko and Bear.  He was preceded in death by his grandfather Thompson Tillison.
Mr. Tillison had lived in Boone County for  3 years, after moving from Shelbyville.  He graduated from Rushville High School and attended church in Lebanon.  He was a peer specialist/chw at Synergy Recovery Services of Indianapolis for 3 years, and had previously worked for TNT Construction of Shelbyville for 3 years. Tyler loved playing and watching sports, working and volunteering in the community, playing and spending time with his kids, and gardening with his dad and grandpa.
Funeral services will be 7:00 pm on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road.  Burial will be in Blue Ridge Cemetery.  Friends may call on Tuesday evening from 5:00 pm until the time of the service, at the funeral home.

Obituary Preview: Marcus B. Childers, 57, of Rushville, passed away Saturday, April 16, 2022 at his residence. Born January 7, 1965 in Shelbyville, he was the son of Fred Childers and Lou Ellen (Buchanan) Childers.  He married Rhonda (Stafford) Childers on May 22, 2001 and she survives.
Other survivors include 3 stepchildren- Rachel Wainscott (husband Michael) of Shelbyville, Jerry Pogue of Rushville, James Pogue of Shelbyville; 5 siblings-Rick Childers of New Palestine, Robert Childers (wife Jenny) of Georgia, Tammy Headlee (husband Jerry) of Shelbyville, Fred Childers Jr. of Rushville, Monita Emrich (husband Phil) of Columbus; and 5 step grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, and  2 brothers- Darin & Todd Childers.
Mr. Childers was a lifelong resident of this area, and attended Shelbyville High School and earned his GED at a later date.  He was a self employed handyman for many years. Marcus enjoyed music, drawing, cooking, and his dog Winkie.  He was a practical joker, and was an avid Grateful Dead fan.  He loved spending time with his family and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, May 21, 2022 at Sunset Park in Shelbyville.

Other survivors include 3 children- Tony Miani (wife Kenna) of Maryland, Tracy Powell (husband Jeff) of Shelbyville, Constance "Connie" Conner (husband Jeff) of Fountaintown; 2 brothers- Jerry Whitaker of San Diego California, Dan Whitaker (wife Alice) of San Diego; 9 grandchildren- Bryce, Devin, Samantha, Kirsten, Jack, Matthew, Jessica, Jennifer, Julia; and one great granddaughter.  She was preceded in death by her parents.
Mrs. Miller had lived in this area since 1995, after moving from California.  She had been a respiratory therapist at several different area hospitals for 20 years.  She graduated from high school in California, and received and Associate's Degree in respiratory therapy.  She was a member of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Church in Shelbyville. Amber enjoyed reading, quilting, gardening, and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 12:00 noon on Saturday, April 23, 2022   at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road, with Pastor Amanda Matheny officiating.  Burial will be in Bennett Cemetery.  Friends may call on Saturday morning from 10:00 am until the time of the service, at the funeral home.

McComas Jr., 91, of Shelbyville, passed away Monday, April 11, 2022 at Waldron Health Care, Born March 10, 1931 in Shelbyville, he was the son of Frederick McComas and Marie (Monroe) Achenbach.  He married Delphia (Meadows) McComas on Nov. 24, 1954 and she preceded him on March 14, 2020.
Survivors include 2 children- Michael F. McComas (wife Rebecca) of Waldron, Jill L. Camp (husband John) of Shelbyville; 4 grandchildren- Brandon Camp, Ryan DeVoe, Conner McComas, and Ashlee Garrett.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his spouse, daughter Michelle Cook, and a grandson William McComas.
Mr. McComas was a lifelong resident of this area, and graduated from Shelbyville High School.  He worked in the shipping department at General Electric/Wellman's, retiring after 28 years of service.  He was a member of the Eagles Lodge, American Legion, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and was a US Navy Korean War veteran. Fred was an avid Shelbyville Golden Bear basketball fan, and attended all their games, at home and away, and enjoyed watching Indiana University basketball, golfing, and spending time with friends and family.
Graveside services will be 10:00 am on Monday, April 18, 2022 at Forest Hill Cemetery with Pastor Beth Crouch officiating.  Military rites will be conducted by the American Legion Memorial Committee.

He was an Allstate Insurance Company agent in Indianapolis for over 40 years. He was raised and baptized a Catholic.
Alfredo is survived by his wife, Margaret R. (Stiff) Gutierrez;children, Mia E. Gutierrez of Speedway, IN; Al Gutierrez of San Diego, CA and Greg M. (Lisa) Gutierrez of Greenwood, IN; grandchildren, Sophia and Samantha Gutierrez; a brother, Armando Gutierrez (Mary) of Kerrville, TX.
Alfredo was a U.S. Army Veteran.
Graveside services will be held at Forest Hill Cemetery, Shelbyville, IN on Friday, April 8, 2022. at 1:00 PM. Father Paul Landwerlen will be officiating.

Obituary Preview: Alma Margareat (Chandler) Furlough-Dake, 92, of Fairland passed away, April 4, 2022 at her residence. Alma "Punch" was born on September 10, 1929, in Ardmore, Alabama to Albert and Mattie (Mullins) Chandler.
On November 15, 1946 she married Milton T. Furlough and moved to Indiana. Alma loved to travel, sew, plant flowers in her garden, take drives through the country and spend time with her family. Taking care of her children was her greatest joy and accomplishment. She had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed teasing people. On March 21, 1998 she married Robert Dake while living in Fairland.
She is survived by her four children-Jim Furlough of Rapidan, VA, Sue Tehrani (Abbas) of Sykesville, MD, Tonia Collins (Richard) of Shelbyville, Michelle Balting (Todd) of Fairland; 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, 2 spouses, 4 sisters, 2 brothers, and 1grandchild.
Alma attended High School in Alabama, was a homemaker and a member of Fairland Baptist Church. She had lived in this area for 50 plus years after moving from Indianapolis.

Bonnie was a lifetime resident of this area. She work 23 years as a Sorter for Freudenburg. She was a 1951 graduate of St. Paul High School and was a member of Wesley Chapel Wesleyan Church, St. Paul, IN.
She is survived by her children, Gary W. (Patricia Kilgore) Moore of Greensburg, IN; Twila R. (Kenny A.) Pitzer of St. Omer, IN; April L. (Roger W.) Wethington of Waldron,IN; step children, Andrea (Allan) Hicks and Tammy (Harmony) Moore; her sister, Norma Lee Hayes of CA.; her grand-children Matthew, Danielle, Kylie, Gary Jr., Kari, Tiffany and 3 step grandchildren and Four great-grandchildren.
Bonnie loved her children and grandchildren. She will be dearly missed.

Mrs. Leclercq had lived in this area since 2000, after moving from Chicago.  She attended Kelly High School in Chicago, and was a member of Our Lady of Good Council Catholic Church in Chicago.  She was a home maker. Cindy enjoyed visiting friends and family in Chicago, cooking, dancing, and helping and caring for others.
Funeral services will be 1:00 pm on Friday, April 15, 2022 at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road, with Rev. David Humphrey officiating.  Burial will be in Whispering Hope Cemetery.  Friends may call on Friday morning from 12:00 noon until the time of the service.

Survivors include 5 children- Kenneth McKinzie of Indianapolis, Charles McKinzie (wife Maria) of California, Kelvin Lynn McKinzie of Shelbyville, Paula Watkins (husband Rick) of Kentucky, Darrin Christopher McKinzie (wife Sandy) of Shelbyville; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her spouse, a daughter Peggy Whitt, 2 infant sons, 5 brothers, 9 sisters, and several grandchildren.
Mrs. McKinzie had lived in this area since the late 1950's, after moving from Ohio.  She attended school in Kentucky, and was a home maker. Throughout her lifetime, Amy enjoyed visiting her family, reading her Bible, sharing stories, cooking, gardening, flowers, and traveling, especially to Kentucky and Tennessee.  She loved the mountains in all their beauty, reading to children and watching old movies, singing and being sung to.

Melvin, as many knew him, married his love Lois A. (Kaster) Griffith on December 30,1962 and were married for 59 years. Melvin was a self-employed house painter; Griffith Painting. and worked 57 years. He attended Shelbyville Senior High School. He was a faithful member of the Apostolic Tabernacle Church, Shelbyville, IN since 1962. Melvin loved his church, family and grandchilldren. He loved to fish and hunt. His favorite Bible scripture was Jeremiah 17:14.
Melvin was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings, Shirley Skillman, Dora Scott, Jerry Griffith, Nancy Nigh and Michael Griffith. He is survived by wife, Lois A. (Kaster) Griffith; daughter, Rebekah "Becky" (Larry) Justice of Shelbyville, IN and several nieces and nephews; his grandchildren, Rebekah "Bekah" Bukea, Melvin Justice and great granddaughter, Rilynn Marie Bukea.
Funeral services will be on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at 1:00 PM in Apostolic Tabernacle Church, 1500 Miller Ave., Shelbyville, IN. where Pastor Daniel McDonald will officiate. Visitation will be from 10AM until service time at the church. Burial will be in Lewis Creek Cemetery, Shelby County.

Other survivors include daughter Jacquelyn (Husband Dan) Brooks of St. Paul. 2 brothers- Jerry Morton of Tennessee, and Steve Morton of Indianapolis, 2 sisters- Linda Kidwell of Indianapolis, and Edith Ann Lawson of Tennessee, 5 Grandchildren, 13 Great Grandchildren, and 7 Great Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her Parents, 1 daughter Beverlie Bagwell, 1 sister- Shirley Morton, and 1 brother- Robert Morton.
Marjorie graduated from Thomas R. Howe High School and had also attended IUPUI. She was electronics assembler for Bendix Aviation Corporation while living in Davenport, Iowa before moving to Indiana. She enjoyed doing craft work with her husband, traveling, but most of all loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.
Services will be held on Wednesday, March 30, 2022, at the Glenn E. George Funeral Home St. Paul, at 1pm, with visitation from 11am until the time of service. Burial will be held at the Paul Hill Cemetery in St. Paul. Memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association in care of the funeral home.

Ms. Sebastian had lived in this area since 2017, after moving from Florida.  She graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1985, and had been employed as office manager/collector with ABC Supply in Fort Lauderdale Floria for 20 years. Kelly enjoyed traveling, shopping, cruising, and visiting Disneyworld.

Born December 15, 1964 in Shelbyville, he was the second child of Shirley J (Bennett) Higginbotham and Edward Higginbotham. Steve is survived by his Mother, Father, and Sisters- Elaine K. (Kevin) Schramm of Yuma, Arizona, Kathy Schlimgen of Venice, California, and special friend Ms. Jodie Moore of Shelbyville. He will also be missed by several uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
Steve was a 1983 graduate of Lawrence North High School in Indianapolis and had most recently worked at Allied Universal Security Services in Shelbyville as a Security Officer for several years. Steve had a love for cats instilled in him by his Mother, and was saddened by the recent loss of 2 of his furry friends. He liked music, video games, and just relaxing after work with a cold bottle of Mountain Dew. He also was a fan of the many forms of martial arts.

Smith and Bonnie (Conway) Smith. She married George E. Morgan on December 9,1943 and he preceded her  in death November 27, 2014. She is survived by a daughter Susan (Hutch) Coxey of Indianapolis, IN; three grandchildren and five great grandchildren; three great great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a daughter Cindy Morgan and a son, Jerry Morgan. She was a lifetime resident of this area, graduating from Waldron High School. She was a homemaker. Dee enjoyed visiting the casino, and spending time with her dog Stella, but most of all loved spending time with her family. Funeral services for Dee will be on Monday, March 21,2022 at 1:00PM in Glenn E. George and Son Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IN, will Rev. David Humphrey officiating. Visitation will be on Monday, March 21,2022 in the funeral home from 11AM until time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Community Hospice East in care of the funeral home.

Obituary Preview: John Wesley Davis, 98 of Greensburg, IN passed away at his residence on March 12, 2022. He was born November 20,1923 in Decatur County, IN the son of the late Ligonal Davis Sr. and Ethel (Parks) Davis.
He met Gladys Mae (Thorp) Davis and she became his wife on December 16, 1945. Sadly, she preceded him in death in 2017. John also was preceded in death his parents a son, Stephen Davis; brothers, Harold Davis, Ligonal Davis, Jr., Wilbur Davis and infant brother James Davis and sisters, Helen Wasson, Mabel Mount and Norma Jean Massman.
He was a lifetime resident of Shelby County and was a self-employed farmer. He graduated from Waldron High School, and was a member of the First Christian Church of Shelbyville, where he was an elder for 55 years. John was a US Navy veteran of WWII.
His survivors include children, Joyce (William) Crane of Greensburg, IN; Cheryl (Kenneth) Bass of Shelbyville, IN; Gary (Debra) Davis of St. Paul, IN; and a daughter-in-law Kathie Davis of Greensburg, IN; a sister, Ethel Mae Soroko of Ohio; 14 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren.
John was a lifelong farmer, coming from generations of farming. He was proud of his service with the US Navy during WWII. He enjoyed tractor pulling and was an avid bowler until the age of 97.
Funeral services for John will be on Friday, March 18, 2002 at 2:30PM in Glenn E. George Funeral Home, 106 E. Franklin St., St. Paul, IN, with Pastor Bill Horner officiating. Visitation will be on Friday, March 18, 2022 from 1:00 PM until time of service.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Christian Church of Shelbyville in lieu of flowers. Burial will be in Van Pelt Cemetery, Waldron, IN with local veteran's organizations providing military honors.

Haus and was married April 24, 1964, and he preceded her in death in 2018. She also was preceded in death by parents, daughter, Robin Annette Haus, brothers, Dempsey, Billie, Ronald, Robert, Richard, James and Charles Cook, sister, Caroll Sue Cook, Mary Margaret Jones and a grandson, Joseph Strang.
Phyllis graduated from Southwestern High School. She worked in assisted living care in Walker House and also worked 23 years for Old Hickory Furniture. She was a believer of the gospel and accepted Christ as her Savior. Phyllis enjoyed cooking, playing cards, but most of all loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Her survivors include children, William (Jamie) Haus of Shelbyville, IN; Robert (Teresa) Haus of Waldron, IN; Sharon (Robert) Hobbs of New Castle, IN; Danny (Denise) Bailey of Indianapolis, IN; a sister, Rita Fry of Portland, IN; 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Funeral services for Phyllis will be on Friday, March 18, 2022 at 10:00AM in Glenn E. George and Son Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IN, Visitation will be on Thursday, March 17, 2022 from 4 to 8 pm in the funeral home. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude's Hospital or the Peyton Manning Children's Hospital in care of the funeral home.

She is survived by ten grandchildren; Mike (Kimberly) Benson, Mark (Darla) Benson, Greg Benson, Katie (Chad) Crews, Matt (Amy) Kuhn, Patrick (Amber) Kuhn, Kevin (Viktoria) Kuhn, Ashley (Lee) Tanks, Benson Harlamert, Brian (Farrah) Taylor and great grandchildren; Tyler (Audrey) Benson, Maggie (Sklyer) Peetz, Mollie Benson, Alyssa Benson, Collin Kuhn, Jackson Kuhn, Camren Kuhn, Kate Kuhn, Leah Kuhn, Aleksandr Kuhn, Ethan Kuhn, Anna Kuhn, Ella Tanks and Harley Tanks. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband John F Benson and six siblings: Donald Yeager, Roy Yeager, Robert Yeager, Mildred Boyle, Maxine Winkler, Evelyn Weintraut and daughter-in-law Nancy E Benson.
She was a member of the Waldron Baptist Church, Liberty 57 Extension Homemakers club, a 1947 Waldron graduate and belonged to the Camp-Lack-A lot group. She was a bookkeeper for Benson Construction, and she was a cook at Waldron High School, worked at Cunningham Gardens, in the office at the Shelby County Sheriff’s Dept.
She loved to cook and host family gatherings. Noodles, pie, peach cobbler, chili sauce were some of her specialties.  She was a competitive euchre player and enjoyed antiques.
Viewing will be Monday, March 14, 2022, from 4:00-8:00 pm and Tuesday, March 15, from 9:00-10:00 am with the funeral on Tuesday, March 15 at 10:00 am with Pastor Kim Jarrett officiating. The viewing and service will be held at Glenn E George & Son funeral home, 437 Amos Rd., Shelbyville, IN.  Burial will be in the Van Pelt Cemetery, St. Paul.

Olive Lou graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1946, from Ball State university with a B.S. in 1950, and with an M.S. from Butler University in 1964. She was a teacher in the Shelbyville School System form 34 years.
In 1950, Olive Lou married the love of her life, Lowell Williams. He survives, along with their three daughters, Ronda Beth Fox, Connie (Larry) Browning, and Kim (Greg) Griffey; 5 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister-in-law, Ruth Ann Monroe, a niece, and a nephew.
Olive Lou was a follower of Jesus Christ and a member of Crossroad Community Church. When Mom was asked how she wanted to be remembered, she said, “I’d like to be remembered as a good, honest, Christian person who loved God, family, and friends. I hope I was a good teacher. Some called me their favorite.” We who loved her will always remember her that way. As she said all her life, we are so blessed. Funeral services will be Thursday, March 10,2022 at 10:30AM at Glenn E. George and Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Rd., with Pastor Andy Lee officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
