Obituary Preview: Arthur “Art” Frances Kries, 79, of Joliet, Illinois passed away peacefully on April 18, 2022, surrounded by his loving wife and three daughters.  Art grew up in Chicago, Illinois, and taught at Valley View School District 365u for over 35 years.  He also enjoyed coaching his daughters’ sports teams throughout their youth.  He was a loving grandfather and an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears.  He was a loyal man who loved his friends and family fiercely, and was known to offer up numerous jokes and riddles.  Since his diagnosis, he was determined to beat his fight with Lewy Body Dementia and leave this earth on his terms.  He will be dearly missed and always remembered.
Art was preceded in death by his father, Arthur J. Kries and mother, Julia Kries; and his dear sister, Mary.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Karen (Peterson) Kries; daughters, Jennifer (Kevin) Herrmann, Kimberly Kries, and Larissa Kries; grandchildren, Austin, Mason, and Ashlyn Herrmann; brother, Frank (Carol) Kries; nieces and nephews, Debbie Tokarski, Linda (Larry) Swingler, Roberta (Scott) Kluck, Tammy Tokarski, Dale (Denise) Tokarski, Gary (Carol) Tokarski, and Marty (Kim) Tokarski; as well as many more family and friends.

Drdak, Sr., passed peacefully at the age of 81 on March 16, 2022, in the Minooka home he shared with his wife of 50 years, Phyllis “Diane” (Vath) and his beloved dog, Truffle. Paul was welcomed to the afterlife by his parents, Paul and Lillian (Cervenka), and siblings Robert (Milly) and Patricia (Mike). He will live on in the memories of his children, Lynette (Blair) Olexa, Paul Jr. (Lisa), Seneka, and Morgan (Mike) Mason. Paul was a proud grandfather to Rhett (Rachel), Rachel (Ben), Evan (Katie), Fallon (Jake), Jose, Jazmine, Jocelyn, Austin, and Allison, who will share his stories with great-grandchildren Blair, Solomon, Julian, Esther, Kai, Hobbs, Jonah, Grant, and Marley (pending). Paul also had an extended family, many friends, and grand-dogs he adored.
“Captain Paul,” as he was known to friends, had a passion for helping others. He put this passion to work during his time as a member of the Will County Board in the 1990s, and during his career as an investigator for the Will County Public Defender’s Office. Paul was a champion for the underdog and always offered a hand to anyone in need. He was also the life of any party he attended, making memories with whomever he met.

Obituary Preview: Donald C. Johnson, of Crestwood, IL, died on January 22, 2022 he was 66 years old.  Father, brother, friend and the local Cheesehead.  Don was born on July 20, 1955 to Jacqueline Johnson and raised with his five siblings (Diane, Matt, Patti, Sandy and Lynn).
Don graduated from Dwight D. Eisenhower High School in 1973.  He enlisted in the Army in February of 1974 and served six years where he was a Military Policeman and Detective.
Don was the father to five kids; Kimberly (Kankakee) married to Tom, Jenny “Fred” (Minooka), Tracy (Minooka), Amy (Franklin, TN) married to Doug and Jeff “buddy” in Sycamore married to Katie. Don had 12 grand kids; Payton, Jacob, Mason, Kenzie, Tom, Grace, Hudson, Jameson, Jackson, Cillian, Finley Harper, Maddox.  All of whom he loved dearly. He was also loved by many nieces and nephews.  Don was preceded in death by his mother Jacqueline Johnson in 2019. While you may know him as a stubborn man, he was a great one.  Don loved watching old movies he loved old westerns with John Wayne, listening to music from the 60’s and 70s like CCR.  He was also a big Green Bay Packers fan.  You could usually catch him watching the game, until it would go bad then he would shut it off.  He loved the Chicago Cubs and was so happy when they won the World Series in 2016.  With Don it was the little things that mattered; family, good friends, good music and sitting on the porch drinking coffee.  He will be missed by so many as he was loved by all.  In the words of the great Vince Lombardi, “We didn’t lose the game, we just ran out of time.”
Per Don’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. He will be laid to rest and receive full military honors at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois

Kevin was a proud member of the Electricians Union Local #176 for over 40 years. He was an avid sports fan. He loved watching the Chicago Cubs, the Chicago Black Hawks, the Chicago Bears and all college basketball and football. Kevin enjoyed vacation with his wife and being out in the sun and at the pool.
A celebration of Kevin’s life will be held on Monday, November 22, 2021 at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet with a memorial visitation from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Per Kevin’s wishes cremation rites have been accorded.

He was born to Charles and Rose Scheidt of Joliet, IL On April, 10th 1953. Gerald was a proud United States Marine from 1972-1979.
He is preceded in death by his father, Charles Scheidt; brothers, Chuck, Michael and Richard Scheidt; and his grandson, Joseph R.D Conway.
Gerald is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Patricia “Lee” Scheidt. Anyone that knew them knew they were soul mates and shared so much love together.  He also leaves behind his mother, Rose Scheidt; four children; Gerald (Melissa)Scheidt, April (Josh)Kubinski, Tanya (Glenn) Gurnitz and Misty (Shane) Mitchell.  He was the proud grandpa of 14 grandchildren, Krystal, Morgan, Jake, Zach, Madison, Joshua, Jayson (Taylor), Austin, Brandon, Jaidyn, Ashly, Dymond, Bronson Jr. and Destinee; 4 great-grandchildren, Aaliyah, Brent Jr, Graclyn and Kashton.
He is also survived by his loving siblings, Russell (Janene) Scheidt, Mark Scheidt and Timothy (Maribel) Scheidt; three lifetime friends, Don (Pat) Nolan, David Cryer and Dan Keith; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Gerald loved his family more than anything. He radiated happiness, kindness, joy, love, care, and support to not only his family and friends but to every human he crossed paths with. He loved fishing and was persistent until the day he could no longer. Gerald spent his career as a drug and alcohol counselor helping others with their addictions. Everyday he prayed for others he did not know and this was his prayer “God please look after the alcoholics and addicts still suffering. Give them the willingness, kindness, strength and the hope you have given me. To keep me clean and sober. Amen”

Gerald retired from the Laborers Union Local #75 in which he was a proud member of for 54 years. He loved spending time with his family and always put a smile on everyone’s face. Gerald was a kind and loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He will be truly missed by all the knew him.

Preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Seno; parents, Charles and Mary Keener; siblings, Charles Keener III and Charlotte Neybert; and cousin, Wayne Cachra.
Mary Ann was a member of the Wheatfield American Legion, the Shelby Ladies Club, Roselawn United Methodist Church and Roselawn Senior Center. She loved camping at Circle C Campground with her family and friends. Mary Ann was also an avid Chicago Cubs fan. She will be truly missed by all who knew her.

A woman of strong faith, Dian graduated Oak Lawn Community High School in 1964 and married Lyle on April 3, 1965. Together they built a life full of love and laughter, having five children and fourteen grandchildren. Dian dedicated her life to her family and church, creating cherished memories for everyone who was blessed to know her.
Dian was preceded in death by her husband Lyle, parents Fances Mee (nee Meyer) and William Gambon, and followed closely in death by her twin sister Susan Bomberry.  She is survived by her five children, Laura (Steve) Olewinski, Lyle Jr. (Michelle), Lewis (Donna), Lynette (Serena), and Leon (Diane), fourteen grandchildren, Lyle III, Alexandra, Sydney, Maxwell, Amber, Logan, Margaret, Cooper, and Jessica Lake; Larissa, Mitchell, and Cassandra Olewinski; James and Jennifer Zimney; loving sister Ellen Edwards and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Dian’s life will take place on Wednesday, November 24, 2021, with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM followed by the service at 11:00 AM at Salem United Church of Christ, 9717 S. Kostner Ave, Oak Lawn, IL 60453. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations/expressions of sympathy be made to Salem United Church of Christ.

He loved his wife, Nancy, dearly and he adored their min-pin, Miss Minnie.

She dedicated her life to her family. Nicole always kept herself busy but time with her husband and children was always the most important. She cherished her yearly trips to Disney with her family. Her love for her family and friends was endless, she will always be remembered for her kind heart and passion for anything she did in life.

Steven was dependable and always had an easy going attitude, a great sense of humor and an appreciation for a friendly smile. An all around family man with a beautiful soul. Steve had many people that cared for him and was definitely one-of-a-kind with an irreplaceable personality.
Survived by his daughter, Devan Procaskey and son, Jacob Procaskey; long time fiancé: Mary Ann Holland and her daughter: Trichelle; the mother of Steven’s children: Judy Tucker; grandchildren: Nicholas, Kailey, William, Christian, Logan, Kennedy and Joshua, and sister: Jackie, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Steven was preceded in death by his parents: Ella May and Herman, and sisters: Jerry and Jamie.

He was the son of Earl and Elizabeth “Betty” Kimble (nee Wood), and the much-loved brother of Susan (Gary Pyka) of Cary, IL, Jane (Richard Ray) of Cedar Grove, WI, David of Kenosha, WI, and Cindy (Doug) Mueller of Kenosha, WI. He was proud of his role as "big brother" and he cared for all of us deeply. We will truly miss him and his wicked sense of humor. He made us laugh, A LOT.
Born November 23,1949 in Cairo, Egypt, where his father was stationed as a radio operator for TWA, Bill grew up in Shawnee Mission, Kansas and Palatine, Illinois graduating from Palatine High School in 1967. He attended Harper College and was a member of the Air Force. Bill lived for a time in California, before resettling in Illinois. He saw much of the U.S in his 18-wheeler, which he called his job and "playtime." As a civilian contractor, Bill drove trucks in lraq during the war in 2007 and 2008. He was also a proud electronics nerd and loved dabbling in architectural drawing and CAD.
He leaves behind nieces and nephews: Jessica, Scott, A.J., Steven, Matt, and Steve, along with their spouses and children, his late father's wife Rita, many cousins, and many friends.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, a sister Ruthanne, an infant sister Barbie, as well as many aunts and uncles.
