Sandy Petrich - April 26, 1958 - April 01, 2024

Departed: 04/01/2024 (Centralia)
Obituary Preview: Sandy Petrich Beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, and Daughter
With heavy hearts, we bid farewell to Sandy Petrich, a remarkably beautiful woman whose presence illuminated the lives of all who knew her. Sandy passed away on April 1, 2024, leaving behind cherished memories and an enduring legacy.
Sandy was born on April 26, 1958, to her loving parents, Jack Cline and Dortha Lensegrav. From an early age, she exhibited a zest for life and a compassionate spirit. As a devoted wife to Jerry Petrich for over 35 years, Sandy embodied the true essence of partnership, love, loyalty, and strength, creating a home filled with warmth and laughter.
As a mother, Sandy's nurturing presence was a source of comfort and guidance to her children, Shana, Steven, Shalene, and Samantha. She approached parenthood with boundless patience, unconditional love, and a commitment to instilling values of kindness, resilience, loyalty, and strength in her children. Sandy's dedication to her family was unwavering, and her love knew no bounds.
In her role as grandmother, Sandy found immense joy and fulfillment in the precious moments spent with her 10 grandchildren. Whether playing in the front yard, attending sporting events, cruising for ice cream, or simply enjoying the sound of their laughter, Sandy cherished every opportunity to create lasting memories with her beloved grandchildren.
Sandy's love for the beach was a defining aspect of her life. She found solace in the rhythm of the waves, the warmth of the sun, and the serenity of nature's embrace. Her affinity for the beach was matched only by her passion for her cherished 1957 Ford Fairlane 500, a vehicle that symbolized freedom, adventure, loyalty, strength, and countless unforgettable journeys. Sandy loved cruising around town searching for sunsets with Jerry, her designated chauffeur.
Throughout her life, Sandy touched the hearts of all who knew her with her warmth, kindness, loyalty, strength, and genuine compassion. Her legacy of love and laughter will continue to live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind. Sandy recently retired after serving the community for over 30 years. Sandy started her commitment to the community by driving school bus for the Chehalis School District for over 10 years. Sandy continued her dedication by opening and operating her own business, Fast Trax Mobile Catering for almost 20 years. Fast Trax combined Sandy’s passion for cooking and community, while also giving her career more freedom, independence, and flexibility. Most recently in retirement, she embraced her passion for traveling and adventure, visiting several countries, including Ireland, Norway, Iceland, and England. She was most proud of her Viking roots and being able to see in person where her ancestors originated.
In honoring Sandy's memory, let us take a moment of silence to reflect on the joy she brought into our lives and the profound impact she had on each of us. May her spirit forever remain a guiding light in our lives. Sandy Petrich will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Judy Lee (Karnowsky) Norris - June 18, 1943 - January 07, 2024

Departed: 01/07/2024 (Centralia)
Obituary Preview: Judy Lee (Karnowsky) Norris passed away January 7, 2024, in Olympia, Washington, due to complications from acute myeloid leukemia. She was born June 18, 1943, to Albert Charles Karnowsky and Mayme Leone Karnowsky in Aberdeen, Washington. A four-and-a-half year resident of Olympia, she also lived in Ocean Shores, Washington (2005-2019), and Vancouver, Washington (1988-2005).
The Karnowsky family lived in Westport, Washington, until Judy turned eight years old. Her father was a commercial fisherman and the family relocated to Newport, Oregon, as he expanded his fishing business. As a young girl, Judy frequently accompanied her father on his boat, the Mayme, on 10-day fishing trips off the coast of Oregon and Washington. It was during those adventures that Judy developed her life-long love of all things nautical.
Professionally, she was a Real Estate Office Manager and entrepreneur. Judy owned a custom upholstery shop and, as a master upholsterer, she beautifully restored classic/antique furniture. Judy nurtured and supported many beloved life-long friendships. She had a keen mind, razor sharp wit with a great sense of (irreverent) humor; she shared lots of laughs with many favorite family jokes. She enjoyed playing cards (excellent at pinochle) and marbles and wasn’t always the best loser!
Judy didn’t consider herself a true chef, yet she created and shared many incredible recipes that people loved, including her secret-recipe chocolate fudge that she shared with family and friends every Christmas (her favorite holiday). She enjoyed selecting and giving special, meaningful gifts throughout the year. She was always well dressed with impeccable taste, and LOVED catalog shopping, receiving dozens of mail-order catalogs every week. She also had a keen eye for finding thrift store and garage sale treasures, amassing a beautiful jewelry collection, including natural stone rings.
Judy was an avid equestrian and Schipperke enthusiast who was a loving pet parent to many generations of horses, dogs, cats, birds, and cows. She was an active beachcomber and avid genealogist, researching her paternal family’s homesteading of the central Oregon coast.
Judy possessed an indomitable spirit and will power. At 73 years of age, she survived an accident that resulted in a life-altering traumatic brain injury. She did more than just recover. Despite physical and mobility challenges, she thrived while facing every day with courage, fortitude, and resilience. Her desire to live a meaningful life was only reinforced when she was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia days before her 77th birthday. Her cancer treatment journey was difficult in many ways, but Judy’s love of family, friends, and life itself carried her through. Judy was and remains an inspiration in every way, and she will always be loved and cherished.
She is survived by her husband, Jerome “Bud” Norris Sr.; son, Adam Norris of Olympia; stepsons, Richard Norris of Portland, Oregon, and Jerome “Jerry” Norris Jr. of California; daughters, Anne Clem of Bryan, Texas and Brenda Mottner of Roy, Washington, stepdaughter, Elizabeth Sparks of Gresham, Oregon; niece, Samantha (Karnowsky) Rosati of Hawaii; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her father, Albert C. Karnowsky; mother, Mayme L. Karnowsky; and brother, Richard A. Karnowsky.
Family and friends will join together to scatter Judy’s ashes on Willapa Bay, on the Central Washington coast, on Tuesday, June 18, 2024.
Memorial donations may be made to the Schipperke Rescue Organization (SchipperkeRescue.net) or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS.org).

Aly Sandoval Hurtado - October 30, 1932 - October 05, 2023

Departed: 10/05/2023 (Centralia)
Obituary Preview: Aly Sandoval Hurtado of Chehalis, Washington, passed away at Providence Hospital in Centralia, Washington, on Thursday October 5, 2023, with his son at his side. Aly was born October 30, 1932, in San Pedro, California. He grew up in the San Pedro and the Los Angeles areas. Aly learned Spanish as his native language and later learned English. His first job was working in the agriculture fields, harvesting fruit. He had a few other jobs in the area until going to work at Desoto, a lighting fixture manufacturer where he fabricated and assembled lighting fixtures. It was here that he met his wife, Carol, who worked as an assistant to the company’s owner. He married Carol May Boucher in Las Vegas, Nevada, in 1966. They were blessed with a son, Alan B. Hurtado a year later.
Aly went to a trade school, learning electronics repair and then worked for RCA in Los Angeles. The family relocated to Washington in 1972, where he started Ethel TV Service in a two-car garage in Ethel, Washington, on the dairy farm of Carol’s brother, Bruce Boucher. This was quite a change for Aly after growing up in the warm and dry areas of Southern California. At first, it was too cold and too rainy, but he toughed it out. He had the TV repair business on the farm until Bruce sold the property in 1978; they moved their home and business to Chehalis where they have lived ever since.
Aly enjoyed growing roses and sharing his knowledge with others, as well as helping Carol with her many arts and craft projects. In 1985, he and Alan began selling the large ten-to-twelve-foot satellite dishes while Aly continued to repair electronics. As the business was growing, he and his son had an opportunity to take over the service and satellite dish sales For David’s TV and Appliance in 1989. He continued growing the service department and had to hire additional technicians along the way. Satellite dishes shrunk to 18 inches during this time while they continued to sell and service them. In 2003, David’s TV and Appliance moved up the street to a larger location where Aly, Alan and George McClendon became co-owners and added furniture. A few years later, they had the opportunity to buy and move into the old McMahon’s furniture facility up the street, almost tripling the size of the business and employing up to 20 people, including his wife, Carol, as the service coordinator. After the flood of 2007, Aly started thinking about retirement, which he did in 2009. Aly remained active, helping his son’s business, Northwest Party Outlet and later Party Connexion. He was always willing to give a hand as needed. Aly was greatly loved by many and will be missed by many.
Aly will be remembered for the many hours he spent at Church, praying for and helping anyone in need, as well as his unfailing love for his family and friends, his patience and strength, his service to others, and his faith in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.
Aly was preceded in death by his wife, Carol; his sister, Aurora Witham; his brother, Larry Hurtado; and his parents, Delores and Antonio Hurtado, and their other children.
Aly is survived by his son, Alan B. Hurtado of Centralia, as well as many nieces, nephews, and close friends.
A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at Open Bible Church, 902 Alder St., Centralia WA 98531.
