Carol Jones Tama - Unknown - January 08, 2022

Departed: 01/08/2022 (Blossburg)
Obituary Preview: Carol Jones Tama, 81, of Blossburg, Pennsylvania died at home on January 8, 2022, after a long illness.
Carol was Blossburg Proud. She was born in Blossburg to parents thoroughly immersed in the community and she learned early on that she was expected to participate in and contribute to any and all efforts to help Blossburg thrive. Her only pride was that she did what was expected of her.
Carol was endlessly delighted by a remark made by an administrator from Wellsboro (of all places) who said “Blossburg can do anything.” Because she knew it was true. There was and still is a hardy corps of volunteers at the library, at the pool, at the Housing Authority, at the Blossburg Improvement Association, at Blossburg VIBE, at the First Methodist Church, who devote themselves to doing what needs to be done to keep the community pleasant and decent and lively. They are the people, the citizens of Blossburg, who gratified and inspired her when she was well and sustained her in her hopes for the future when she fell ill. She was so pleased to have them in her life.
Carol is survived by her husband, Lawrence Tama of Blossburg; by her brother, Robert M. Jones, MD, of Bluefield VA; by her children, Marion Corsaro of York, PA. and Robert Bond of Knoxville TN; her grandchildren, Lily Corsaro of Austin, TX, Violet Corsaro of New York, NY, and Heather Bond of Knoxville, TN.
A private cremation ceremony will be held at the funeral home and a memorial service scheduled at a later date. Carol wanted any remembrance in her name to go to the Blossburg Memorial Library but really preferred that anyone who could should join a community organization and do community service in her memory.
