Obituary Preview: Loren Yost, 97, of Plymouth, died at Beatrice Community Hospital surrounded by his family on Friday, December 8, 2023. He was born on November 25, 1926 at rural Plymouth to George and Emma (Schachenmeyer) Yost. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Plymouth and graduated from Plymouth High School in 1945. He was drafted in February of 1951 to the Korean War and received a medical discharge in September of 1951 after becoming ill with Rheumatic fever. He married Evelyn Malchow on September 4, 1955 at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Plymouth and they lived and farmed in the Plymouth area until moving to Plymouth in 1971. He also worked for John Penner for 16 years. He was a lifelong member of the St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Plymouth where he had served as trustee and on the finance committee. Loren was a 72 year member of Schopp-Ewing-Nispel Post #243 of the American Legion of Plymouth where he had been a Past Commander and Post Adjutant for twenty two years. He enjoyed the Break and Swing Square Dance Club and gardening, especially his tomatoes.
Survivors include his one daughter, Rhonda Yost of Plymouth; brother, Marvin (Gladys) Yost of Plymouth; sisters Melva Jurgens of Beatrice, RoJane (Dennis) Meyer of Plymouth; sister-in-law, Leoda Yost of Crete. Brothers-in-law Harold (Jeanne) Malchow of Dewitt, LaVerne (Tanya) Malchow of Beatrice; Sisters-in-law Mildred Winkle of Pickrell and Elda (Jim) Heller of Lincoln; many nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors. Judith Kay Frank - June 30, 1944 - April 07, 2022

Obituary Preview: Judith Kay (Moldenhauer) Frank, 77, of Plymouth, was called to her heavenly home on April 7, 2022. She was born June 30, 1944, in Fond du Lac, WI, the oldest of four children born to Adair and Margaret (Carlovsky) Moldenhauer. She became a child of God at her baptism on July 16, 1944, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, North Fond du Lac, WI. When she was an infant, the family moved to Crete, IL, where her father was principal and upper grades teacher at Zion Evangelical Lutheran School. Five years later they moved to Baraboo, WI, where Judy received her elementary education at St. John's Lutheran School. She was confirmed at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Baraboo on March 31, 1958. Her confirmation verse was Psalm 111:10 KJV, "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; a good understanding have all they that do his commandments; his praise endureth forever."
She graduated from Baraboo Senior High School on June 7, 1962. Following graduation, she moved to Milwaukee, WI, where she attended Spencerian College, graduating in 1964 with an AA degree in Executive Secretarial. She was employed as Secretary to the President of Newton & Company, an investment counseling firm in downtown Milwaukee.
On August 19, 1967, at her home church in Baraboo, she was united in marriage to Joel G. Frank, a ministerial student at Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in Mequon, WI. Upon completion of his seminary training, Joel was assigned to First Lutheran Church in Winnett, MT, and Faith Lutheran Church in Melstone, MT.
Joel and Judy became the parents of Jennifer in June of 1971 and of Jeffrey in October of 1972. They moved to Plymouth, NE, in June 1973, after Pastor Frank accepted a Call to serve at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church. Their daughter, Jill was added to the family in April 1978. Judy worked part-time outside of the home, with her longest employment being 15 years at Jacot Chiropractic Clinic in Beatrice and shorter times at American Family Insurance and Blossom Khardt.
She served her Lord and her church by being a soloist for weddings, a choir member, director of St. Paul's Ladies Choir for many years, and selected the music for the choir. She assisted her husband by doing the church's secretarial work until the office moved from the parsonage to the newly constructed fellowship/office wing of the church in 1991. She took great pride in the parsonage yard, planting trees and many flowers. She enjoyed traveling to visit family in Wisconsin, Colorado, Alaska, and Washington. She dearly loved her seven grandchildren and great-granddaughter and attended their musical activities and sports events as often as possible.
Judy is survived by her husband of 54 years, Joel; their three children, Jennifer and husband Geron Brown of Beatrice, Jeff and wife Jami of Elkhorn, Jill and husband Andy Masek of Unadilla; seven grandchildren, Josh Brown and wife Melissa, Castle Rock, CO, Caleb Brown and friend, Liz Bryson, Juneau, AK, Hannah Brown, Lauren, Katelyn, and Cameron Frank, and Jackson Masek; great-granddaughter, Charlotte Brown, Castle Rock, CO; sister, Barbara Simpson, West Bend, WI; brother, Richard Moldenhauer, Vero Beach, FL; two sisters-in-law and their husbands, Marie and Rod Maas, Norfolk, and Phyllis and Dennis Duddeck, Watertown, WI; brother-in-law and his wife, Mark and Maribeth Frank, Jackson, WI; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her parents-in-law, the Rev. G. B. Frank and Margaret (Ehlke) Frank-Bauman; sister, Jeanne Moldenhauer; and brother-in-law, David Simpson.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, April 12, 2022, at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Plymouth with Pastor Justin Dauck officiating. Burial will be at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery west of Plymouth. A family prayer service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday at the church. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 11, 2022, from noon until 8:00 P.M. at the Fox Funeral Home of Plymouth. The family will meet and greet relatives and friends from 6:00 P.M. until 7:30 P.M. Obituary Preview: Eldon Wasserman, 84, of Plymouth passed away on Thursday, March 3, 2022 at Gardenside in Fairbury. He was born on September 20, 1937 in Bremen, KS and attended school in Odell. He married LaVon Lohse on April 2, 1961 at Immanuel Lutheran Church of Bremen, KS and they moved to Plymouth in 1965. He was a farmer for Callen, Inc. near Odell, worked in the shipping department at Store Kraft in Beatrice, and then for his brother Melvin at Farmers Building and Equipment in Plymouth. He bought the business from his brother, and it became A-1 Dairy Supply. He was also a self-employed builder retiring in 2004. He was a former member of Our Savior Lutheran Church of Odell, Immanuel Lutheran Church of Bremen, and Immanuel Lutheran Church of rural Plymouth. He became a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Plymouth after the closure of Immanuel. He served on the Plymouth Fire Department, was an EMT, and a former member of the Plymouth Businessmen’s Club.
Survivors include his wife, LaVon Wasserman of Plymouth; daughter, Debra (Pastor Stuart) Freese of Hooper, son, Marc Wasserman of Plymouth, daughter, Becky Billesbach and friend Daryl Riesen of Plymouth; three grandchildren, Mackenzie Billesbach of Omaha, Michael Huls of Pleasantdale, and Caleb Freese of Hooper; great-granddaughter, Elenor Rodriguez; brother, Leonard (Delores) Wasserman of Beatrice; sister-in-law, Verna Wasserman of Lincoln; in-laws, Karen (Delmar) Schotte of Marysville and Gary (Julie) Lohse of Lincoln; nieces, nephews and extended family. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, March 8, 2022, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Plymouth with Pastor Fred Berger officiating. A family prayer service will be held at 9:30 A.M. on Tuesday at the church. Inurnment will be at the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery of rural Plymouth. Gary Lee Niemeier - February 21, 1948 - December 26, 2021

Obituary Preview: Gary Lee Niemeier, 73, of rural DeWitt passed away on December 26, 2021, at Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital in Lincoln. He was born February 21, 1948, in Beatrice to Emil and Alma (Zulauf) Niemeier. He was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church, rural Plymouth. He graduated from Plymouth High School in 1966 and later attended the Nebraska School of Technical Agriculture at Curtis. Gary was drafted into the US Army in January 1968. He was sent to Fort Lewis in Washington State. After completing basic training, he was transferred to Fort Gordon in Georgia to train in US Communications. He was assigned to the 97th Signal Battalion and was deployed to Mannheim Germany. He served there until his discharge in January 1970. He was very proud to receive a Quilt of Valor, in recognition of his service, on Veterans Day 2021.
He returned to the family farm at rural DeWitt, where he engaged in farming and also worked for Wasserman Wood Products (Plymouth), Hoover Materials Handling (Beatrice), and American Tool (DeWitt). Gary enjoyed attending Husker Harvest Days, tending cattle with his brother Rich, several trips to sporting events as a fan of the Cornhuskers and Royals, keeping up with neighborhood current events, and driving the countryside. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in DeWitt.
Gary is survived by niece, Letitia and Mike Fulkerson of Cincinnati OH; nephew Colin and Tracy Niemeier and family, Roman, Brennyn, and Nolan of Dublin OH; nephew, Jim and Mary Niemeier and family, Grace, Sophie, and Emma of Friend NE; niece Mary Niemeier of Kansas City MO; Cousins, Delma Bergmeier, LaVern and Joann Niemeier, Virgene Schmidt, Gordon and Bonnie Zulauf, Duane and Marsha Zulauf, Carol Wilson, Karen Zulauf and Cheryl Zulauf. He was preceded in death by his parents; stepmother, Susetta (Einspahr) Stichweh Niemeier; brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard Niemeier and wife Rachel, Donald Niemeier and wife Gail; stepsisters, Aurelia Krull, Loraine Mommens and Arlene Maas.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, December 31, 2021, at Trinity Lutheran Church in DeWitt with Pastor Travis Panning officiating. Masks are recommended at the service. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 9:30 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Burial will take place at 2:00 P.M. on Friday at the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery of rural Plymouth. Edwin John Schneider - July 12, 1932 - April 13, 2021

Obituary Preview: Edwin John Schneider, 88, of Plymouth, passed away on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at the Good Samaritan Society of Beatrice. He was born on July 12, 1932 on the family farm southeast of Plymouth to John and Emma (Kirchhoff) Schneider. He was baptized on July 31, 1932 by Pastor Phillip Gerken at Immanuel Lutheran Church two miles east of Plymouth. He attended Immanuel Lutheran School and was confirmed on April 14, 1946 by Pastor Otto Blessin at Immanuel Lutheran Church. His confirmation verse was 1 John 3:1. Edwin helped on the family farm until 1952 when he joined the United States Army and served from 1952-54 with a tour of duty to Salzburg, Austria. Following the tour, he returned home to the same family farm and continued farming while serving six more years in the Army Reserve. Edwin remained on the family farm as a third-generation farmer until recent years. He was a member of American Legion Post 243, a life member of the Farmers Union, and a member of St Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Plymouth where he served on the church council for 33 years, as church treasurer for 24 years, and the church centennial committee. His hobbies included photography, farm conservation, researching and learning new technology.
He leaves to mourn his death; sisters, Hilda Remmers of Beatrice, and Marian Wurm of Jansen; nieces and nephews, Wilbur Remmers of Beatrice, Janet (Don) Harms of Syracuse, Dorothy (Merlin) Folkers of Randolph, Marvin Remmers of Dallas, TX, Joann (Doyle) Kerwood of Fairbury, and Don (Tammy) Wurm of Plymouth; six great-nieces; three great-nephews; 13 great-great-nieces and nephews; many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Emma Schneider; brothers-in-law, Herman Remmers and Lawrence Wurm; and a great-niece, Allison Wurm.

Eugene L. Paneitz - July 24, 1936 - March 02, 2021

Obituary Preview: Eugene LaRay Paneitz, 84, of Sand Springs, OK, formerly of Plymouth, NE, died on March 2, 2021 at his Oklahoma home. He was born on July 14, 1936 in Hampton, NE. The family moved throughout southeastern Nebraska before settling in Plymouth. Eugene attended Freeman School just west of Beatrice and graduated from Plymouth High School. He married Jean Huneke on August 12, 1956 at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Plymouth, NE. Jean and Eugene were blessed with four children that they raised on a farm to the southwest of Plymouth. Eugene was a lifelong farmer raising livestock and crops. He and Jean were famous for their homegrown produce – especially sweet corn – and were regulars at various farmers markets. Following Jean’s death, Eugene continued to farm and was active in the Plymouth community. He was honored as Volunteer of the Year for Plymouth in 2005. Eugene was introduced to Faye Stephens while she visited her family in Nebraska. They were married on February 15, 2011 at the Fairbury Courthouse. Eugene retired from farming and moved to Sand Springs, OK where he continued gardening. In addition to gardening, Eugene could also be found cheering for the Sooners unless of course, they were playing the Huskers. Eugene was beloved by many, especially his Nebraska (Grandpa Eugene) and Oklahoma (Papa) grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include three sons, Terry Paneitz of Omaha, Neal (Donna) Paneitz of Waco, and Mark (Sheri) Paneitz of Lincoln; one daughter, Sheila Paneitz of Omaha; five grandchildren, Hunter (Elizabeth) Paneitz, Nena (Wesley) Obermier, Paige (Jesse) Munstermann, Brandon (Lynnett) Paneitz, and Heidi Paneitz; three great- grandchildren, Marie and Simon Paneitz and Charlotte Ann Munstermann; two step-sons, Mike (Kary) Stephens of Sand Springs and Steven (Erika) Nunley of Cleveland; one step-daughter Terri (Carl) Seely of Salpulpa and their families all of Oklahoma; sister-in-law, Mary Jo Paneitz; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Bertha Williamson Paneitz, his first wife, Jean, who died on January 24, 1999; his second wife, Faye, who died on February 28, 2021; one brother, Ronald.

Arthur P. Wells - March 13, 1927 - January 15, 2021

Obituary Preview: Arthur Paul Wells, 93, of Plymouth passed away Friday night, January 15, 2021 at the Beatrice Community Hospital. He was born on March 13, 1927, to Arthur Bruce and Merna Mae (Schroeder) Wells in Jansen. He was baptized on February 14, 1932, by H. Wilkens. Junior (as he was also known) attended Jansen Public School until 1938 when the family moved to Fairbury and he attended school for one year in Fairbury. While living in Fairbury he was confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church on June 2, 1940. The family moved to Plymouth in 1940 where Junior attended 8th grade and high school, graduating in 1945.
Art was drafted into the Army in September of 1945, one of the last draftees of World War II from Jefferson County. While in the service, he was stationed at Fort Knox, KY, where he was a mechanic in the armored division. After being discharged in November of 1946, he returned to Plymouth and joined his father in A.B. Wells and Son implement business.
On November 27, 1949, Art and Alverta Rehm, a classmate, were united in marriage. Three children were born to this union. When A.B. Wells retired in 1964, Junior and Alverta then operated Wells Implement. Through the success of the business over the years, they won trips to Mexico, Reno and Las Vegas, Hawaii, Spain, Switzerland, London, a Rhine River cruise and an ocean cruise from New York to the Bahamas.
As a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Plymouth, Art served in various positions. He was a member of the Plymouth American Legion and had been involved in the Plymouth Businessmen’s Club. At one time, he served on the Plymouth School Board.
Art enjoyed golfing, bowling, trapshooting, fishing, traveling, playing cards and attending his children’s and grandchildren’s games. He had a life-long hobby of building and flying model airplanes. Also interested in sports, he was an avid fan of the Kansas City Royals, the Chicago Cubs, and of course, the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Having started as an Allis-Chalmers dealer, orange tractors were always his favorite.
Art is survived by his wife, Alverta Wells of Plymouth; daughter, Pamela Hoge of Plymouth; sons, Greg (Ruth) Wells of Beatrice and Mark (Deb) Wells of Plymouth; granddaughters, Wendy McKenzie (Evan Jones) of Western, Lorie (Wade) Heidemann of Plymouth, April (Paul) Barnes of Lincoln, and Larissa (Adam) Frey of Woodbury, MN; grandsons, Benjy Wells of Phoenix, AZ, and Michael (Laura) Wells of Plymouth; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; sister, Glenola (Lowell) Germer of Clatonia; sisters-in-law, Shirley Imes, Darlene Rehm, and Hazel Rehm; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and son-in-law, Charles Hoge.

For many years, she owned and operated Leona’s Corner Tavern in Jansen. She enjoyed taking drives in the country and doing word search puzzles.
Survivors include two daughters, Julie Jones of Fairbury and Christina (Michael) Siebels of Omaha; one son, Frank (Rachel) Stewart of Collierville, TN; four grandchildren, Christina (Randy) Hinrichs, Trevor Stewart, Dillon Stewart, and AJ Stewart; one great-granddaughter, Ansley Hinrichs; sister, Sharon Wolford of French Lick, IN; nieces and nephews. Leon Dale Freese - August 20, 1928 - December 10, 2019

He was born on August 20, 1928 at Plymouth, to John and Adela (Meyer) Freese. Leon was baptized on September 16, 1928, and confirmed on May 31, 1942, at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Plymouth. He attended District 76 and St. Paul’s Parochial School and graduated from Plymouth High School in 1946. After graduation Leon worked for Farmers Co-Op of Plymouth for several years and helped on the family farm. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1950 – 1954 where he achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant during the Korean War. After his discharge he returned to Plymouth where he farmed and drove a truck. He joined the American Legion Post #243 and served in various capacities. Leon married Alida Brandt on May 25, 1958. They were married for 57 wonderful years and raised their family of four children while he farmed and worked as an insurance agent for Farmer’s Mutual of DeWitt. He was a life-long member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Plymouth where he sang in the choir and held various positions at both the church and school. He also served on the Jefferson County Fair Board. Leon’s hobbies included flying, traveling with his wife, working and being around horses, riding his Indian motorcycle, working on farm engines, and thoroughly enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was baptized and confirmed at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church of Humberstone, Ontario, Canada, spent her childhood in Canada and worked in a shoe factory for three years. She was married to Arnold Roesler August 23rd, 1944. They lived in Western until 1952 when they purchased the Plymouth Locker and moved to Plymouth. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Plymouth where she taught Sunday School and was a member of the Ladies Aid of the church. She enjoyed quilting, embroidery work, cooking, her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include one son, John (Rochelle) Roesler of Oakland, California, two daughters Linda Schopp and Patricia Roesler of Lincoln; eight grandchildren, Todd (Kristi) Schopp, Lori (Kevin) Wittler, Marshall (Jamie) Roesler , Aaron (Jamie) Roesler, Jake (Natalie) Roesler, Anthony (Danielle) Roesler, William Roesler, Benjamin Roesler; nine great-grandchildren, Kaden and Tannah Schopp, Justin (Rachel) Wittler, J’Nan Wittler, Joseph, Joshua, Heustyn, Mercedes and Wyatt Roesler; nephew, David MacKay; niece, Colleen (Ron) Parton; 51 nephews and nieces on the Roesler family side. Special care giver, Jeni DeMara. She was preceded in death by her parents Gustav and Lydia Wolfe Fiedler; her sister Doris MacKay; her husband, Arnold who died on January 8, 2000 and her son, Jerry who died on January 11th, 2000.

Obituary Preview: Rosella Ella Erina (Niemeier) Grefe of Plymouth, age 91, died April 3, 2019 at the Heritage Care Center in Fairbury. Rosie was born November 6, 1927 at Beatrice, grew up in the Plymouth area, and graduated from Plymouth High School in 1945. She met the love of her life on a bus ride from Lincoln to Beatrice while traveling home for the holidays in December 1947. She married Alwin Grefe on June 19, 1949 at Immanuel Lutheran Church of rural Plymouth. The marriage was blessed with four daughters, one of whom was stillborn. They established their home on an acreage 2½ miles southeast of Plymouth where they lived for 55 years. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of rural Plymouth until it closed in 1984 and then was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Harbine. She was also a member and former secretary of the Historical Society of Jefferson County. She was a cook for the school cafeteria at Tri County Schools for over 30 years. She and her husband acquired the Niemeier heritage farm of 1881 east of Plymouth and were honored with the Aksarben Pioneer Farm Family Award in 1989. Family time was important to Rosie and Alwin and they loved taking family trips to neighboring states while the children were growing up. Years later, Rosie, Alwin, Barbara, and Karen took several family trips to Germany to visit relatives. In 2004, they moved into Plymouth. She enjoyed cooking, baking, reading, gardening and collecting bells.
Survivors include three daughters, Linda Grefe of Fairbury, Barbara Ruhnke (Donald) of Fairbury, and Karen Reynolds of Plymouth; four grandchildren, Stephanie Wetter (Bruce) of Washington, Kansas, Tim Reith (Kendra) of Minden, Curtis Reynolds of New York City, and Krista Reynolds of Plymouth; two great-grandchildren, Abigail and Mckenzie Reith; three step-grandchildren, Joshua Ruhnke (Lisa) of Lincoln, Jacob Ruhnke of Jansen, and Amber Pliefke (James) of Garland and seven step-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Charlotte Obering Niemeier; her husband Alwin, who died September 6, 2018; an infant daughter, Mary Lee; two sons-in-law, Wayne Reith and Jeff Reynolds; one sister, Alma McLaughlin; one brother, Werner Niemeier; three sisters-in-law, Dorothea Grefe, Vera Duensing, and Evalina Palmer; three brothers-in-law, Hilbert Duensing, Robert McLaughlin, and Elmer Palmer.

The youngest of four children, he was born June 7, 1924 to Hermann and Dorothea “Dora” (Dammann) Grefe at Odell, Nebraska. He was baptized at Bethlehem Lutheran Church at rural Bremen, Kansas on June 20, 1924 and confirmed in 1939 at Trinity Lutheran Church at LeHigh, Kansas. He spent most of his youth in Kansas. Prior to his marriage, Alwin lived in New York State working various jobs, including logging and painting buildings. While traveling home for the holidays in December 1947, he met the love of his life on a bus ride from Lincoln to Beatrice. Alwin married Rosella Niemeier on June 19, 1949 at Immanuel Lutheran Church of rural Plymouth. The marriage was blessed with four daughters, one of whom was stillborn. They established their home on an acreage 2 ½ miles southeast of Plymouth where they lived for 55 years. He sharpened knives in a Beatrice factory for 36 years, retiring in 1985, but his greatest enjoyment was farming. He and his wife acquired the Niemeier heritage farm of 1881 east of Plymouth and were honored with the Aksarben Pioneer Farm Family Award in 1989. Family time was important to Alwin and he loved taking family trips to neighboring states while his children were growing up. Years later, Alwin, Rosie, Barbara and Karen took several family trips to Germany to visit relatives. In 2004 they moved to their present home in Plymouth. Until a few years ago, Alwin continued to help with farming. He also rekindled his hobby of collecting and repairing antique clocks, fixing his last antique striking clock this past July.
Survivors include Rosella, his wife of 69 years; daughters, Linda Grefe of Fairbury, Barbara Ruhnke (Donald) of Fairbury, and Karen Reynolds of Plymouth; grandchildren, Stephanie Wetter (Bruce) of Washington, Kansas, Tim Reith (Kendra) of Minden, Curtis Reynolds of New York City and Krista Reynolds of Plymouth; two great-grandchildren, Abigail and Mckenzie Reith; three step-grandchildren, Joshua Ruhnke (Lisa) of Lincoln, Jacob Ruhnke of Jansen, and Amber Pliefke (James) of Garland and seven step-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. He was born on July 8, 1936 at rural Jansen in the family home and was baptized on July 24, 1936 at Peace Lutheran Church of rural Plymouth. At the age of five, he moved with his family to Daykin where he was confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church of Daykin on May 29, 1949 and graduated from Daykin High School in 1954. He married Diane Blome on June 12, 1960 at the Zion Lutheran Church of Clatonia and they moved to Plymouth in 1965. He was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Plymouth where he had served on the School Board and was a former church elder. He served in the Nebraska National Guard for six years. He worked at Dempsters and Ratigan-Schottler in Beatrice. He then owned and operated Plymouth Upholstery for seven years before working at StoreKraft in Beatrice for 21 years, retiring in November of 1998.
Survivors include his wife, Diane of Plymouth; one son, Brian (Valajean) Weishahn of Plymouth; one grandson, Cpl. Hayden Weishahn, USMC of MCBH Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii; one granddaughter, Tara Weishahn of Plymouth; one step-grandson, Jerrod Dorn of Firth; one brother, Richard (Marian) Weishahn of Beatrice; nieces and nephews.
