Obituary Preview: Alice (Sawyer) Schram Lambert, 81 of Woonsocket, passed away peacefully on April 27, 2024. Alice was born on May 16, 1942, in Woonsocket, a lifelong city resident, and a daughter of the late Leo and Yvonne (Beausoleil) Sawyer. She was the wife of the late Paul E. Lambert.
Alice worked in dry cleaning and the laundry business before she began working in social services. She was a community organizer for Social Progress Action Corp and later worked for TOCTA as Weatherization and Cans of Hope Co-Ordinator. Alice also worked for the Department of Human Services as an Outreach specialist.
In 1986, Alice and her husband Paul owned and operated Lamby’s Pub on Blackstone St. in Woonsocket for eighteen years.
She is survived by her daughter June Rampenthal and her husband Kevin of Woonsocket, grandchildren Nataly Neves, Eric Rampenthal, Shane Harnois and his wife Jessica; Lauren Rampenthal and her partner Morgan, Daniel Rampenthal and his fiancée Nicole, and seven great-grandchildren, also her brother Gerard Sawyer, sisters Rose Marie Brissette and Patricia Cote both of Woonsocket. She was predeceased by siblings Joseph Sawyer and Doris Desrochers.

Obituary Preview: Irene F. Duquette 92, of North Main on St. in Pascoag, passed away on April 18, 2024. She was the wife of the late Ovila Duquette. Born in Whitinsville, MA, she was a daughter of the late George and Nellie (Hewett) Snyder. In her younger days Irene worked for Edmonds Machine and Tool. She spent most of her life caring for her family and her home. Irene loved playing bingo and cards and going to the casino.
She is survived by her children, Constance Valley of Epson, NH, Katherine Geer, Sharon Fournier, and Duke Duquette all of Pascoag, George Duquette of SC, and Armand Duquette of Woonsocket, a sister Barbara Bacon of Whitinsville and many, many, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her children, Ronald and Judith Duquette and siblings Irving Snyder and Ruth Gauthier.
Visiting hours will be held Friday, April 26, 2024, from 2:00 to 5:00 PM at the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 463 South Main St. Woonsocket. Burial will be private.

Normand L. Berard 85, passed away Thursday, April 18, 2024 at home with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of sixty-one years of Suzanne (Carpentier) Berard. He was born in Woonsocket, the son of the late Leo J. and Hortense I. (Dansereau) Berard. Normand was a Woonsocket police officer serving in the detective division for many years, retiring in 1982. He was a passionate New England Patriots, Bruins, Celtics, and Red Sox fan. He was an amazing cook, a self-taught chef who enjoyed creating culinary masterpieces for his family. He loved the Cape, especially spending his mornings with a cup of coffee watching the boats at Wellfleet Harbor. His greatest joy, however, was making people laugh and making them feel at ease. In addition to his loving wife Suzanne, he is survived by his children: Donna M. Goode and her husband Daniel of Franklin, MA, David P. Berard and his wife Doreen of North Smithfield, and Linda J. Cournoyer and her husband Kenneth of Franklin, and ten grandchildren: Lauren and Christopher Goode, John, Ryan and Matthew Cummings, Meagan and Brett Berard, and Cameron, Kyle, and Evan Cournoyer. He was predeceased by his daughter Lisa Cummings and her husband William.

Obituary Preview: Doris M. (Sawyer) Desrochers, 89, of Privilege St., passed away on Thursday, April 11, 2024, at The Friendly Home, Woonsocket.  She was the wife of the late Leo M. Desrochers.  Born in Woonsocket, she was a daughter of the late Leo and Yvonne (Beausoleil) Sawyer.
Mrs. Desrochers was a founder of the Woonsocket Youth Hockey and was a member of the American-French Genealogical Society.  She enjoyed crochet, traveling and poker.
She is survived by her three children, Jeanne M. McCarthy of Kissimmee, FL, Leo M. Desrochers, Jr., of Hyannis, MA and Robert L. Desrochers of Foster; four grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.  She was the sister of Gerard L. Sawyer of Chepachet, Rose Marie Brissette, Alice Lambert and Patricia Cote, all of Woonsocket and the late Richard Sawyer.

She was the beloved wife of the late Lionel G. Boucher. Born in Woonsocket, she was a daughter of the late Armand and Dorina (Lauzon) Champagne. Mrs. Boucher worked as a cloth inspector and sewer for Royal Robes Industries, before she retired in 1978. She was a member of the Waterview Association. Her passion was spending time with her children and grandchildren, cooking, reading, and music.
She is survived by three daughters, Sue Pouliot of NC, Claudette Dean of NH, and Diane C. Boucher of Cape Cod MA, and a beloved friend Carol A. Deveau of Cape Cod, MA, a daughter-in-law Ronda Boucher and a brother-in-law Rudy Drolet both of RI, eight grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her three sons, George Boucher, Gerard Boucher, and Robert Boucher, and siblings, Mabel Drolet, Roland Champagne, and Gerard Champagne.
Her funeral will be held Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at 9:00 AM from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 463 South Main St. Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at Holy Trinity Church, Park Ave. Woonsocket. Burial will follow in the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Exeter, RI. Visitation will be held Monday, April 22, 2023, from 2-4 PM.

She was also predeceased by her first husband Maurice Gaulin. Doris was born in Woonsocket, RI, the daughter of the late Albert and Hortense (Ducharme) LeBoeuf. She worked as a secretary for many years at Fogarty Hospital in North Smithfield, retiring in 1989. In her youth Doris was an avid tennis player, and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. Doris tragically lost her daughter Celeste in 1978 at the age 24 in an automobile accident and was also predeceased by her granddaughter Jennifer Morin. She is survived by her daughters Michele DeForest of Mashpee, MA, and Monique Morin and her husband Rene of North Providence, RI, her stepsons; Richard and Ronald Jordan, both of Cranston, six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Visiting hours will be held at the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 463 South Main St, Woonsocket, Saturday, March 23, from 10-11AM. Burial will follow in Precious Blood Cemetery.

She was the loving wife of the late Lionel Mercier. Lucille was born in Woonsocket, a daughter of the late Henri and Rose D’Anjou. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her sons Raymond and Dennis Mercier.
She is survived by her sister Doris St Jean of VA, her grandchildren Dawn Cross of FL and Kyle Mercier of NH, her daughters-in-law Diane Mercier of FL and Sue Mercier of Woonsocket, niece Deborah Morton of VA and her nephew Michael St. Jean of OR. Lucille was very loving, family oriented, and had a great sense of humor. She was also a supervisor at Tupperware in North Smithfield for many years. Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, March 12 at 10:00 AM in the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 463 So. Main St, Woonsocket followed by a prayer service at 11:00 AM. The burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland, RI.

Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Escolino and Anna (Carlevale) Mallozzi. Dennis was a well-known auto mechanic in the city of Woonsocket. His last place of employment was Switzer Auto Repair where he worked for fourteen years before retiring in 2012. Dennis was a US Army Veteran and served during the Vietnam War. He was an avid fisherman and known for his love of life. He was a devoted father and grandfather and a loving friend to anyone who knew him.
Besides his wife he leaves his children Eric Bergeron and his wife Nicole of CT, Laura Willsey of West palm Beach, FL, Brenda Willsey of Woonsocket and Lisa Lamontagne and her husband Matthew of Chepachet, a brother Joseph Mallozzi of ME, three sisters Christine McAllister of Foster, Linda Mullen of Bristol and Debbie Quilini of Johnston, seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
His funeral will be held Friday, March 1, 2024, at 9:00 AM from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 463 South Main St. Woonsocket. She was the loving wife of the late Robert Chartrand. Jane was born in Woonsocket, the daughter of the late John and Irene (Martel) Harvieux, She was a bookkeeper for the former Woonsocket Brush Company for many years retiring in 2014. Jane was a talented master seamstress, but will most notably be remembered as a devoted and caring wife and mother. She is survived by her son Robert Chartrand and his wife Jerilyn of Narragansett, her daughter Lisa Howe and her husband Donald of Crestview, FL, six grandchildren: Robert, Michael, Alexandria, Samuel, Victoria, and Jerica, and six great grandchildren.

Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Romeo and Irene (Driscoll) Dubois. Lillian spent over twenty years as a “Snowbird” with her long term partner the late Joseph St. Sauveur enjoying time with family and friends. She was a member of the former St. Louis Chorale for twenty- eight years. While living in Florida, Lillian joined a tap-dancing group at Harbor Isle called the Harborettes and enjoyed performing and entertaining at local community events.
She is survived by her sons, Alan Thuot of Woonsocket, and Bruce and Glen Thuot both of Harrisville, three grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

He was the beloved husband of Claire Sylvie (Pelletier) Bourget for fifty-five years. Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of Joseph and Celina (Coutu) Bourget. Ray was a US Navy Veteran and served during the Vietnam War. Ray was a truck driver for most of his life, he worked for United East for over twenty-three years, where he also worked in the warehouse. He then worked for Overnight Transportation, which later became UPS Freight, for fifteen years. Ray liked to keep fit, he was an avid jogger, and enjoyed going to the gym. Ray volunteered for AARP and the voting polls. He was very proud of his property and his cars and took great care of them. He loved to cook and bake. Ray was a wonderful husband and a great provider and will be sadly missed by his family.
Besides his wife he leaves a daughter Renee Bourget and a son Jeffrey Bourget and his fiancée Erica Dupree all of Woonsocket, a sister Lorraine Laplante of North Smithfield, and three grand daughters Bethany, Audrianna, and Calandra. He was predeceased by his brother Roland Bourget.
His funeral will be held Thursday, February 15, 2024, from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 463 South Main St., Woonsocket, beginning at 10:00 AM with a service in the funeral Home at 11:00 AM. Burial with Military Honors will follow in St. James Cemetery in Manville. Visitation will be held Wednesday February 14, 2024, from 6-7 PM.

Obituary Preview: Joseph T. Lemoine 57, of North Smithfield, passed away on February 8, 2024. Born in Woonsocket, he was a son of the late Lucien and Rachel (LaBarre) Lemoine. Joseph was a very gifted and talented stonemason and fine art sculptor. He ran Lemoine Masonry for over fifteen years, he also designed and crafted for the Reed & Barton Company. He enjoyed gardening and was very proud of his plants and landscape. He loved music and Jimmy Buffet and was an avid guitar player. Joe was kind, honest, good-hearted and always put others first.
He is survived by his daughters Liv Lemoine of Attleboro and Vanessa R. Lemoine of North Smithfield, a brother Lucien G. Lemoine of Cumberland, and two sisters Louise D. Evans of Johnston and Mary M. Lachance of North Smithfield.
Visiting hours will be held Friday, February 16, 2024, from 4-7 PM at the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 463 South Main St., Woonsocket. A Funeral Mass with be held Saturday, February 17, 2024, at 9:00 AM at the Polish National Catholic Church, 500 Smithfield, Rd., Woonsocket, all are invited to attend. Burial will be private.

Roger A Marquis - April 27, 1935 - January 30, 2024

Obituary Preview: Roger A. Marquis 88, of Woonsocket, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2024, at home. Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Alphonse and Delina (Ledoux) Marquis.  He is predeceased by his beloved wife of sixty-eight years, Clara (Jolicoeur) Marquis who passed on December 6, 2023. Roger was the co-owner of Marquis Oil Company along with his wife, Clara, for twenty years. They retired at an early age and enjoyed traveling around the world. They especially loved taking cruises. Roger enjoyed spending the winter in Florida with Clara. They loved to just be together as they are now.
Roger served in the US Navy for four years in the submarine division. He was an engineman on the USS BLENNY. Roger was part of a test group for seventeen years on Electric Boat in Groton, CT. His group would take submarines out on their first dive under the watchful eye of Admiral Hyman Rickover. Roger is a member of the US Submarine Vets Inc. (USSVI) organization.
He is survived by his daughter Joyce A. Marquis of Woonsocket, granddaughters Ashley Tillet and Taylor Combs both of NC and six great-grandchildren, his brother-in-law Normand Jolicoeur of Pascoag, and extended family member David Chartier. Roger was predeceased by his son David Marquis, granddaughter Jammie Marquis and sisters Rita Fontaine and Doris Rouette.

Pauline worked for the Cumberland Farms store on South Main St. Woonsocket for twenty-one years and retired in 1992. She was a member of the Woonsocket Senior Center, and the former Sacred Heart Senior Citizens. She enjoyed playing bingo and loved spending time with family and friends.
Pauline is survived by her children, Carol Garneau and David LaCasse both of Woonsocket, Wayne LaCasse of Cumberland and Gary LaCasse of NY, siblings Normand and Julien Brunelle both of Enfield, CT, Robert Brunelle of Springfield, MA, and Juliette Daigle of Woonsocket, stepdaughters, Corlis Moniz and Celeste Benjamin, nine grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter Diane Saillant, and siblings Albert Brunelle, Doris Marcotte, and Lucille Giguere.
Her funeral will be held Thursday, February 1, 2024, at 9:00 AM from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 463 South Main St. Woonsocket with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Agatha’s Church, Joffre St. Woonsocket. Born in Japan, she was a daughter of the late Katuzo and Fusa Sukegawa. Yoshi worked in environmental services for Landmark Medical Center for over thirty years. She was a member of the Woonsocket and Lincoln Senior Centers and St. Agatha’s Seniors. Yoshi loved people, with her infectious smile she made friends easily. She loved dancing and playing bingo.
She was predeceased by her lifelong companion Robert Beauchesne. Yoshi is survived by her sons George Loya and his wife Melanie of Wilmington, NC, twins Vincent and Lawrence Loya of Idaho, eight grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sons Wayne and Richard Loya, and siblings Nobu and Yasuo Sukegawa, Tomika Yokoyama and Asako Kawasaki.

Born in Woonsocket, she was a daughter of the late Oscar and Alice (Ferrone) Auger. Lucille was a senior clerk typist at Woonsocket City Hall for fifteen years, she also worked for the Board of Canvassers and the Public Works Department in Woonsocket before retiring in 1972. Lucille was a lifetime member of the Blackstone Valley Association for the Blind. She loved gardening and traveling with her husband Russell.
Lucille is survived by her nephews, John Goyette and his wife Carol, David Ducharme and his wife Sue all of Woonsocket, Mark Ducharme/Lane and husband Steven of Foxboro, and Brian and Jude Ducharme Golden of FL, a sister Rachel Francoeur and a niece Michelle Francoeur both of AZ, and several great nephews and nieces. Lucille was predeceased by her niece Doreen Goyette.

Suzanne C. Trudeau - June 18, 1939 - January 07, 2024

She was the beloved wife of Paul Trudeau for 64 years. She was born in Woonsocket, RI, and was the daughter of the late Aime and Donalda (Robillard) Perreault.
Besides her husband, she leaves behind son David Trudeau (Michelle), son Gregory Trudeau, daughter Lisa Allegrini (Robert), and son Kenneth Trudeau (Lisa) as well as grandchildren Kyle Trudeau, Diana DiPalma, Dominic Allegrini, Lukas Trudeau, Gina Allegrini, and Kally Trudeau. She also leaves behind brother Gilles Perreault, sisters Jeanne Levesque, Yvette Guillemette, Gisele Chapelaine, and Huguette Dion and sister-in-law Muriel Trudeau. She was predeceased by bother Paul Perreault, sisters Mariette Giguere, Sr. Fernande Perreault and Cecile Martin, and brother-in-law Adrien Trudeau.
Suzanne grew up in Woonsocket and graduated high school from Our Lady of The Mountains Academy in Gorham, NH and then from Rhode Island School of Nursing in 1958. She served the Healthcare field for over 47 years as an LPN specializing in geriatric care.
She raised her family in New Britain, CT and Warrior Run, PA and later moved to Stamford, CT. In retirement, her and Paul moved to Westerly, RI where they enjoyed spending time relaxing on the beach and entertaining family and friends. She was a parishioner of The Immaculate Conception Church and was a lifelong member of the Columbiettes and proudly served the Legion of Mary.
Her favorite holiday was celebrating Christmas Eve. She worked hard and saved all year long so she could fill her legendary stockings and put presents under the tree for the entire family. She truly received more satisfaction in giving than she did in receiving.

Born in Bridgeport, CT, she was a daughter of the late Aloisius and Rose Aurora (Bouchard) Sutula. Valerie worked for the Woonsocket School Department as a teaching assistant for thirteen years. She enjoyed camping and family activities. Valerie was very crafty and made many knotted blankets, many of which she donated.
She is survived by her children, Donald B. Jensen of Utah, Marie McPhee of Woonsocket, Annette Paquin of NC, and Christopher Jensen of CT, two sisters Marian Brodt of N. Smithfield, and Catherine Nault of Burrillville, nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sisters Phyllis Desjardins and Loretta Sutula.
Her funeral with visitation will be held Thursday, January 4, 2024, at the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 463 South Main St., Woonsocket. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM and conclude with a prayer service at 12:00 noon. Burial will follow in the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Exeter, RI.

She is survived by her children: Michael Curran and his wife Melissa of Boston, Daniel Curran and his wife Justine of Bellingham, two grandchildren: Gretchen and Alec, and her loving companion Nicholas Gazerro of Millville.

Boucher and his wife Monique of Bellingham, a sister Louise Dyndur and her husband Peter of Woonsocket, her goddaughters Angela Normandin and Lori Kalvinek and ten grandchildren, Curtis, Nathanel, Albert, Owen, Anna, Abbigail, Dakota, Elijah, Ethan, and Virginia. Obituary Preview: The soul of Serge Henri Boudreault, 84, has left this life to explore the great mystery of the place Serge always referred to as “Heaven.”
Serge was born in Mistassini, Canada a son of the late Rene H. and Marie-Cora (Reny) Boudreault.  Serge leaves behind his wife, Claire (Bissonnette-Wright) Boudreault. He was predeceased by his first wife Catherine (O’Donahue) Boudreault. He also leaves two sons, Rene Henri Boudreault with wife Nadine, and Sean Thomas Boudreault with wife Melissa, step-children Clayton Wright with wife Amanda, Ellen Puccetti with husband Steven, Jennifer Roberts with husband David, and Elizabeth Dulude with husband Paul, his grandchildren Tara, Tristan and Liam as well as many step-grandchildren. Serge also leaves his sister Laura Courville with husband Roger. He was predeceased by siblings, Juien Boudreault, Dorothee Boudreault, Carmen Bonneau, and Lucille St. Onge.
Serge’s hockey career began in Shawinigan-Sud, Canada when the Montreal Canadiens drafted him at age 17 into their Jr. Canadien league.   At 19, The NY Rovers referred to Serge as “A Teen-age Terror “on the ice.   The following year brought Serge to Rhode Island’s famous auditorium where he played with the Rhode Island Reds for seven years ending his professional career as team captain with the Columbus Checkers and scoring the most points in that league.  Serge started and was involved in many training camps for aspiring players.
In the hockey arena, Serge built special relationships while coaching Cumberland High School with both players and parents.  He enjoyed coaching several Bantam and Midget teams as well.   He was particularly pleased with his 1984 Edgewood team who won the National Midget Championship Tournament playing in St. Louis Arena, during which time, son Sean scored a “Hat Trick” in the final game.  He also scouted for Montreal and the Philadelphia Flyers.
Serge started his second career working with RIDOT in the drafting department.  Serge ended his 33 year career as a Safety Engineer.
The family extends their profound appreciation to Hope Health’s tirelessly devoted and professional staff and to Jose Aldanna for their generous help in the care of Serge through his illness.
His funeral will be held Thursday, December 14, 2023, at 10:00 AM from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 463 South Main St. Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM at St. John the Evangelist Church, Church St. Slatersville, RI. Her greatest joy was being a mom to her two children, Joyce and David. She also loved her dog Sam.
Besides her husband she is survived by her daughter Joyce A. Marquis of Woonsocket, granddaughters, Ashley Tillet and Taylor Combs of NC, and six great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son David Marquis and granddaughter Jammie Marquis. Clara also leaves three sisters, Janet Richards, and Rose Tanzilli both of Florida, and Ann Modrich of NC, a brother Normand Jolicoeur of Pascoag and extended family member David Chartier. She was predeceased by her siblings, Margaret (June) Morgan, Mary Tessier, Paul, Leo and Ernest Jolicoeur.
