Obituary Preview: William Lovell Hawkins, age 65 of Jacksonville passed away Thursday, April 21, 2022 at UF Health Downtown. Spending most of his life in Jacksonville, William was born to the late Mr. Thomas and Mary (Timberlake) Hawkins, Sr. in Savannah, Georgia on June 11, 1956. Mr. Hawkins worked for many years in flooring installation and also dedicated years of service to the United States Army. He enjoyed a simple life spent with family and friends. William loved Florida Gator football and was an avid fisherman.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister: Maybelle O’Neal; and his beloved wife just earlier this year: Mrs. Linda Hawkins.
He is survived by his daughters: Joy (AJ Disher) Crosby of Glen St. Mary and Krystal (William Wrenn) Waters of Jacksonville; grandchildren: William Waters, Mari Bender, Jerriod Bender, and Connor Ricchiuto; great-grandchildren: Railyn Smith, Cameron Brown, Magi Smith, and Laylah Bender; brothers: Tommy Hawkins, Jr. of South Carolina and Richard (Ina) Lynn of Georgia; as well as nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Forbes Funeral Home. The family will be receiving friends from 1:00 – 2:00 PM in the chapel. Final memorialization will be by cremation.

Tabbatha was a social woman who enjoyed get-togethers with family and friends. She will be remembered as a loving mother, sister, and daughter.
She is preceded in death by her father-in-law: Bud Armstrong.
She is survived by her children: Trinity Armstrong, Taven Armstrong, and Trenton Armstrong all of Macclenny; parents: Timmy (April) Norman and Rhonda (Chandler) Combs all of Macclenny; sister: Tara Lowery of Macclenny; grandparents: Russell (Stacia) Norman and Barbara Norman all of Glen St. Mary, Nancy Barnette of Macclenny, and Rudolph (Norma) Waters of Sanderson; and mother-in-law: Angie Armstrong of Glen St. Mary.

Bessie was born in Steubenville, Ohio on January 19, 1929 to the late Carl and Leona (Johnson) Call, Sr. Ms. Bessie enjoyed keeping a well organized and maintain home and raising her children. She enjoyed decorating homes over the years, as well as sewing and other arts and crafts. Bessie was also a member of Glen Baptist Church for a number of years. She will be remembered as a dedicated mother and wife.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother: Carl Call, Jr.; and children: James Martin and Kathy Louise Martin.
She is survived by her loving daughter: Tanna Blanchard of Glen St. Mary; grandchildren: Charles (Nikki) Blanchard and Thomas Blanchard; great-grandchildren: Valerie Blanchard and Vanessa Blanchard; as well as extended family members.

Sally was born in Plattsburgh, New York on September 13, 1932 to the late Mr. Perley and Margaret (Buskey) Fesette. Ms. Short loved life, spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed traveling, living in different parts of the country, and being on and near the water.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her children: Marnie (Bryan) Smith of Glen St. Mary, Gina Denning and Stacey (Jack Dillman) Carter-Patterson all of Palatka, Dana Paige of Louisiana, Pete (Laura) Sudds of New York, Toma Waters of Punta Gorda, and Sherry (Bobby) Edwards of Vero Beach; close grandchildren: Randy, Jesse, Steve, Rick, Jeremy, Ganetta, Ganelle, Taylor, Jacquelyn, Cody, as well as grand host of other grands, great-grands, and great-great grandchildren; siblings: Dean (Raye) Fesette of Ocala and Linda Fesette of Santa Cruz, California; and numerous extended family members.

She was born on June 28, 1954 in Providence, Rhode Island to the late Albert and Stefanie (Forgiel) Nadeau. She would go on to receive an associates degree and after moving to the Jacksonville area, she would work for many years for the Duval County office of the Florida Department of Revenue. In her spare time, Linda enjoyed all sorts of arts and craft, mainly knitting, quilting, and crocheting. She also enjoyed stamp collecting. She will be remembered by those who knew her best as loving, caring, and an accepting mother.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister: Barbara Gabriau; step-son: Eugene Wilkerson; and beloved husband: Franklin Wilkerson.
She is survived by her children: Joleen (Raymond) Gorman of Francestown, NH, Jacob Tourgee of Baldwin, Rory (Daniel Wilson) Tourgee of Fort Collins, CO, and Matthew (Sara) Tourgee of Warren, ME; grandchildren: Stephanie Gorman, Elliot Gorman, Colton Tourgee, Peregrin Tourgee, Dorian Tourgee, Cynthia Wilkerson, Carin Wilkerson, Alyssa Hodge, Aaron Von Miles, and Cameron Fisk; sister: Kathleen Fournier of Deltona; niece: Patricia Facha of Deltona; and daughter-in-law: Laura Lee Wilkerson of Valdosta.

Rebecca was born in Trenton, New Jersey on October 8, 1982 to Mr. John Ocker and Mrs. Rae Johnson. Rebecca was a dedicated wife, mother, daughter and friend. She had made Baldwin her home for the last twelve years and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Baldwin. She enjoyed cooking for her church family, volunteering at her kids schools, and was always caring for others. She never met a stranger and was a friend to everyone she met. Most of all she will be missed and remembered as a loving mother and wife.
She is survived by her husband of nine years: Kyle Ervin of Baldwin; children: Bryan Martens, Ellyssa Ervin and Kenneth Ervin; parents: John Ocker of New Jersey and Rae Johnson of Baldwin; father and mother-in-love: Harry and Judy Ervin of Baldwin; as well as a grand host of friends, family, and church family.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the First Baptist Church of Baldwin on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Chris Drum officiating.  Memorialization will be by cremation.

He worked for many years as a service manager for several dealership, loved racing, and enjoyed tinkering on cars in his spare time. He also liked to spend time surrounded by family and friends.

He is survived by his daughter: Catherine Fiser; sister: Jackie Moser of Virginia; as well as a multitude of aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews who loved him dearly.

Obituary Preview: Steven Daniel Rogers, age 76 of Middleburg, joined our Heavenly Father on Saturday, March 12, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. Steve was born on October 31, 1945 in Rome, Georgia to the late Mr. Robert “Cottonbud” and Doris (McKinney) Rogers. He would serve twenty-two years in the United States Navy, retiring as Chief Petty Officer in 1985.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his loving wife of forty-five years: Linda “Sissy” Rogers; his “other chick”, Azalia Padgett; children: Michelle “Mickey” (Tracy) Jones, Sherry (Mike) Weiscopf, and William “Buck” (Lacey) Rogers; grandchildren: Kasey Jones, Ashley (Shane) Abbott, Michael (Kylie) Weiscopf, Jr. , Myranda Anderson, Danielle (Evan) Barrett, Mykenzie Francis, Sydney Weiscopf, Keelyn Rogers, and Teighan Rogers; great-grandchildren: Madilyn, Marlee, Maelyn, Mcgraw, Carter, and Aria; brothers: Wayne (Susan) Rogers and Robert (Jackie) Rogers; sisters: Selena (Morgan) Steele and Sala Rogers; as well as numerous extended family members.
More than anything, Steve was devoted to his wife, family and country. He will be missed beyond measure. Thank you for your service, Chief.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, March 17, 2022 at 11:30 AM at the Jacksonville National Cemetery with full military honors to be rendered.

She was born in Brooksville on October 22, 1951 to the late Mr. William and Violet (Faircloth) Prevatt. Ruth would spend most of her life in Jacksonville but had spent the last few years in the Levy County area. Her life was her grandchildren, spending time with them and making memories. Ruth had a bubbly personality, would never meet a stranger, and always had a smile on her face. She also was an avid fan of Elvis Presley and his music.
She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings: Jackson Prevatt and Virginia Powell; stepson: Jimmie Collier, Jr.; and her beloved husband of twenty years: Mr. Jimmie Collier, Sr.
She is survived by her sons: Jody (April) McDowell of Glen St. Mary and Edward “Eddie” (Renee) McDowell of Macclenny; stepson: Bubba Collier of Jacksonville; fifteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister: Annie Mae Curry of Otter Creek; as well as numerous extended family members and friends.
The family will receive friends Friday, March 11, 2022 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Forbes Funeral Home. A memorial service to honor Ruth’s life will begin at 12:00 PM in the chapel. A private family interment will take place at a later date at Riverside Memorial Park.

J.E. was born on February 6, 1932 in Manning to the late Mr. James and Mattie (Harris) Newmans, Sr. Mr. Newmans dedicated many years at the Glen St. Mary Nursery before retiring. In his spare time, J.E. loved playing the guitar and collecting Hess model trucks. He found great joy watching Gator sports on television, as well as laughing at shows like “I Dream of Jeannie”.
He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings: Willow Mae Williams, Alene Sweat, Hazel Smith, Lois Watson, and Frederick Darrow “F.D.” Newmans.
He is survived by his siblings: Jaycee (Mary) Newmans of Folkston, Bernice Burchfield and Lvonnie Broxton both of Jacksonville; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

Elois Edna Crews - October 12, 1942 - February 27, 2022

Obituary Preview: Elois Edna Crews, age 79 of Macclenny passed away Sunday, February 27, 2022 at her home with her family by her side. She was born in Brooksville on October 12, 1942 to the late Mr. Lloyd and Clyde (Stansell) Croft, Sr. She would go on to graduate from Paxon High School. She would move to the Black Bottom area in 1972, where she would raise her family. Elois was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, but she always kept everyone in line. She was an avid deer hunter and was known in the woods and elsewhere as “Yellow Bird”. Over the years, she was active in several hunting clubs and management areas. Outside of the woods, Ms. Crews was active in church and was a longtime member of Manntown Congregational Holiness Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother: Lloyd Croft, Jr.; and a son: Richard McCaul.
She leaves behind to cherish years of memories; her beloved husband: William “Bill” Crews of Macclenny; children: Shaun (Tammy) Baldwyn of Macclenny, Shane (Lori) Baldwyn of Glen St. Mary, and Wanda (Russell) Blair of Lake City; grandchildren: Cheyenne Blair, Aubrey Blair, Kayla Blair, Natasha (Joshua) Stanley, Lee (Brittney) McCaul, Hailey (Jesse) Hall, Tyler (Brooke) Baldwyn, Courtney Baldwyn, and Chloe Baldwyn; great-grandchildren: Alexia, Serenity, Kaitlynn, Cooper, Henleigh, Jaycee, Ella, and Declan; siblings: Jess Croft of Jacksonville and Sherolyn (James) Butler of High Springs; as well as extended family members and friends.
The family will receive friends Thursday, March 3, 2022 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at Manntown Congregational Holiness Church. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM with Pastor David Hodges officiating. She will be laid to rest at Long Branch Cemetery following the conclusion of services at the church.

Mr. Bolser would worked for many years in the sheet metal industry before retiring. In his later years, Alan was very involved with his church family, lending a helping hand at events, and was a dedicated member of the Carpenters for Christ Club at Glen Baptist Church. He also enjoyed fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother: Richard Bolser.
He is survived by his beloved wife of nearly forty years: Mrs. Kathy (Gilbert) Bolser; three stepsons; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother: Ronald Bolser, Jr.; sisters: Deborah Maloy, Karyl Lynn Howell, and Kathleen Wilson; as well as extended family members and friends.

Obituary Preview: Betty Lou Horne, age 78 of Macclenny passed away Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at Macclenny Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after an extended illness. She was born on September 14, 1943 in Wichita Falls, Texas to the late Edward and Roseland (Hathcote) Lowery. Ms. Betty resided in Baker County until 1980, where she raised her family. She dedicated over ten years to the Baker County School Board, working in the cafeteria at Macclenny Elementary School. She also was very involved in church, teaching Sunday school for many years at Macclenny Revival Center, Macedonia Baptist Church, and Calvary Baptist Church. She loved taking care of her family, as well as many pets over the years. She would return to Macclenny, living here for the last fifteen years of her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers: Jimmy Lowery and Peewee Lowery.
She is survived by her sons: Cecil (Kelly) Horne of Macclenny and Clinton (Betty) Horne of Glen St. Mary; grandchildren: Ridge Horne, Kentleigh Horne, and Ava Horne; sisters: Joyce Lowery and Barbara Lowery; as well as extended family members.
The family will be receiving friends Friday, February 25, 2022 from 9:00 – 11:00 AM in the chapel of Forbes Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM in the chapel with Rev. Timmy Thomas officiating. Interment will follow at Macedonia Cemetery.

He was born in Sanderson on May 5, 1949 to the late Mr. Percy and Evelyn (Griffis) Woods. He was a lifelong resident of Sanderson apart from his years of service in the United States Army. Roger would proudly serve in Vietnam during conflict and would reach the rank of First Sergeant over the course of his twenty years of dedicated service.
After his retirement from the US Army, Roger would work for a number of years for the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice. In his free time, he enjoyed researching ancestry and learning about his family’s origins. He loved being outdoors, meticulously maintaining his landscaping and enjoyed fishing as well. He also like to tinker on small engines. Roger was a devoted husband, father and grandfather for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; five siblings; and his grandson: Colby Keith Harris.
He leaves behind to cherish years of memories, the love of his life, wife of fifty-three years: Kathy (Raulerson) Woods of Sanderson; children: Nicole (Manuel) Nunez and Scott Woods all of Sanderson; grandchildren: Brandon Harris, Kalyn Nunez, Brittany Brock, Courtney Woods, and Caleb Woods; seven siblings; as well as a host of extended family members.
The family will be receiving friends Tuesday, February 15, 2022 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Community Full Gospel Church. Funeral services will be held at the church on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at 11:00 with Pastor Tommy Richardson officiating, with interment to follow at South Prong Cemetery.

Mr. Harris is survived by his loving companion Sherry Rumsey; sons: Jason Harris of Brandon, MS and Brian Harris of Glen St. Mary; six grandchildren:  Audrie Harris, Brian Harris, Kaitlyn Harris, Kaylee Rodrique, Hudson Harris, and Keenan Harris; sister Linda Harris Pifer; four nephews and one niece.
