She was someone that cared about others whether they were close to her or far away. We know she will be watching over us and while we will greatly miss her we know that she is happy to be with the love of her life - our dad.

Obituary Preview: Mrs. Yeshimebet Teshome, begin her journey of life on march 5th, 1974. Yeshimebet, was born and raised in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. She was the first born child of her parents. Yeshimebet, lived a life filled with faith, love, laughter and most importantly lived by hard work to achieve her dreams. She replicated those standards, raising her own beautiful children.
Yeshimebet, departed from her home land Ethiopia at an early age in sight of trying to help her family live a better life. Her ambition and drive led her to travel all over the world. Since early on Yeshimebet took school very seriously. Immediately after coming to the United State she begins her journey in pursuit of a degree to become a Registered Nurse. She studied at the Borough Manhattan Community College. After a vigorous two years and working full time as a front desk attendant at the Hotel Pennsylvania, she successfully obtained her degree and started her practice as a nurse at Harlem Hospital. She continued her education at Lehman College, where she earned her Bachelor degree. Yeshimebet, was in pursuit of her master’s degree where she aspired to become a Nurse Practitioner before becoming ill.
Yeshimebet, enjoyed her career as a nurse very much and was loved by all those who encountered her. She had a strong bond with all her co-workers at Harlem Hospital. She stood for hard work, fairness, and helping patients as much as possible.
Yeshimebet, was a loving wife as well as a mother. She will be missed very much. Her sincerity, laughter, jokes, and sense of humor will greatly be missed. She will live in our hearts and mind forever. The times we were fortunate enough to spend with her will be cherished. Most of all, our love for her will never expire. Obituary Preview: Zedekiah Lewis better known as Vincent, Vinny & China Man was born June 7, 1941 in St. Catherin West Indies. Vinny is the fourth child of 14 children. He is predeceased by both parents Jeremiah and Leonora Lewis, two sisters Cynthia and Esmin Lewis and one brother Ruben Lewis. Vinny leaves behind his only son Jabrohn Lewis, two daughters Charmaine and Molly Lewis, three stepdaughters Chanetta, Chantee and Chabreeka Garner. Six grandchildren and six step grandchildren.
He also leaves behind five brothers James, Archebald, Erza, Ruddy and Randal. Five sisters Carmen, Jenny, Dorothy, Happi and Hazel. A host of nieces, nephews, cousin and a battalion of friends.
Vinny attended school in his hometown for a little while but did not graduate. He had to work to help provide for his family. Though he did not graduate he acquired a natural skill and gift as a handyman. He later came to the states in the late 70 early 80 where he became one of the best handy man around. He could fix anything. Not only could he fix anything he could cook everything.
Vinny was a man of many skills and talents, you were lucky to have known him. He spoke his mind and was always honest. He always had a story, one that will have you hanging on to the edge of your seat. He was that type of man-well respected by many, loving, powerful, generous, truthful and most of all hard working.
He lived a long life with those to love him and whom he loved.

James was employed as a Security Officer for Westhab for 10 years in which he retired and dedicated his life to taking care of his family and The well being of his Pre Deceased wife Joann Dickerson McCallum.
James was a loving Husband, Committed Father, Devoted Brother and an Awesome Friend. James looked forward to watching his Grandson Patrick Jr grow up and call him PAPA. He always kept it real no matter if you were right or wrong... Whenever you would ask James how he was doing he would never complain and would say " So Far So Good!"
And when he wasn't happy he would say "Get Outta here!" his Energetic Spirit , Laughter, and Love for Everyone will be truly Missed.
James has gone home to rest with his predeceased Beloved Wife Joann Dickerson McCallum and his Loving Mother Mona Lisa McCallum ,Uncle's Eugene and Jerrimiah Sr. McCallum, Cousin Jeremaine McCallum.

Obituary Preview: Antonio J Araujo, 64, of Newark NJ has passed away Wednesday April 22, 2015 after fighting a long and hard battle for his life at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital.
Antonio was employed by Millennium Bank as an operations manager before retiring in 2010. He is survived by his wife, Maria Magdalena Valenzuela and his son, Antonio Jose Araujo. He is also survived by his brother, Fernando Araujo, Fernando's wife Maria Araujo, and daughter, Katie Araujo; his sister, Magarida Garrido and her two sons, Steven and Jason Garrido; his sister Celeste Almeida and Celeste's husband, Antonio Almeida with their two sons, Daniel and Michael Almeida; his sister Teresa Dovale and Teresa's husband, Francisco Dovale, with their son and daughter, Ricardo Dovale and Ashley Dovale; his sister Fatima Costa and Fatima's husband, Americo Costa with their three daughters, Cindy, Jessica, and Samantha Costa.
Antonio was an enormously caring person. He did not use his words frequently but demonstrated love through his actions. Always putting others before himself. Always the head of his family and now he’s our guardian angel.
Viewing will be held from Sunday, April 26th 2015 5pm to 9pm at Flynn Funeral Home in Yonkers, NY. A mass will be held for Antonio on Monday, April 28th 2015 10 am at Our Lady of Fatima Church in Yonkers, NY.

Obituary Preview: Maria C. Guerrero nacio en Choloma, Honduras el 26 de agosto de 1926, y comenzó su trayecto por la vida. Ella era la hija de Santos Aguilar y Paula Mejía, y la hija del medio de tres hermanos (Girberto Mejía y Edith Mejía). Dona Tina fue la esposa de Hipólito Guerrero durante 20 años. Tuvo 10 hijos, 5 varones y 5 hembras (Julio Cesar, Hilda Gladys, Carlos Guerrero, Miriam Guerrero, Nelly Guerrero, Amanda Guerrero, Wilfredo Guerrero, Aida Guerrero, Roger Guerrero, y Noel Guerrero). Su experiencia en los Estados Unidos comenzó en 1960, cuando Hipólito llegó a la ciudad de Nueva York con el hijo mayor, César y más tarde Carlos (16) en 1968. En 1970, a la edad de 43 años, María llegó a la ciudad de Nueva York para vivir en la calle 136 entre Amsterdam y Broadway. Es en este momento que ella llegó con 3 de sus hijos, Miriam (16), Wilfredo (11), y Noel (5). Seis meses más tarde, regresó a Honduras y trajo a sus otros hijos, Amanda (13), Nelly (15), Roger (8), Aida (10) y, por último, Hilda (22) en 1972. Dona Tina era una mujer con un gran carácter……..era cariñosa, humanitaria, comprensiva, compasiva, generosa, con mucha integridad que exigía el respeto de los demás. Su vida estuvo marcada por la humildad, la generosidad, el perdón y el amor por la humanidad. Tenía una tremenda fe poniendo su confianza en Dios. Ella no era sólamente una madre de sus propios hijos, pero también ella era una maestra, consejera, mentor, y uno de sus mayores atributos que alguien podría tener es que Dona Tina era una cocinera fenomenal!!! ......por ejemplo....BALEADAS, arroz con pollo, SOPA DE CARACOL, SOPA DE RES Y en las navidades TAMALES. A lo largo de su vida, su mayor motivación fue ayudar a los necesitados mientras sacrificaba sus propia familia. Con frecuencia inculcó en sus hijos la importancia de ayudar a los demás sin ningún interés alguno. Ella alimentaba y acobijaba a las personas en necesidad mientras vivía en los EE.UU. y nunca se olvido de la responsabilidad de su familia y amigos en Honduras con lo poco que tenía. A su llegada a Nueva York, Dona Tina comenzó a trabajar como ama de llaves durante unos años dejando a sus hijos bajo el cuido de su hija mayor, Miriam. Esto fue un enorme sacrificio que Dona Tina hizo con el fin de proveer las necesidades básicas de su familia. Su vida se volvió más difícil después de ser madre soltera en 1973 y en ese momento se vio obligada a criar a sus hijos con el apoyo de los servicios de asistencia pública. Con lo poco que tenía, ella fue capaz de sostener asu familia y siempre se las arreglaba para extender su generosidad a los necesitados. En 1974 nació su primer nieto. Es en este momento que ella comenzó a cuidar a sus nietos. Como abuela, tuvo mas de 40 nietos / bisnietos y era conocida por ser cariñosa y atenta, consolante, siempre aconsejando, e inculcaba disciplina a los niños con mucho amor. Los hijos y nietos de Dona Tina indicaron que las lecciones más importantes que aprendieron de ella eran mantener los valores familiares, la unidad, el amor y el respeto. Ella fue una persona que siempre les enseno a los hijos que nunca juzguen a los demás y que traten a todos los seres humanos iguales a pesar de su origen étnico, color, raza, religión, situación económica, etc. Dona Tina murió pacíficamente el 17 de abril de 2015 en el Hospital de Saint Joseph, después de haber sufrido una larga batalla con complicaciones del corazón y cerebral en los últimos 11 años. Sus últimos años fueron inmensamente llenos de amor y unidad familiar. Sus hijos se acuerdan que para ella el regalo más grande que le daba gran felicidad y satisfacción fue ver a su familia unida en paz y armonía con todo el amor que ella le enseñó.

Obituary Preview: It is with great sadness that I have to announce that my mother, Marie Mills, passed away on Saturday, April 4, 2015.
Marie Mills was born in 1936 to Mable and Haywood Barnes in Goldsboro , North Carolina. She married my father , the late John Lewis Mills Jr on October 17th 1960 and moved to live in New York City where she stayed until her passing.
She is a strong advocate of the Special Olympics as well as individual with special needs , in which she fought for my sister , the late Tracy Mills that was diagnosed with Downs Syndrome to live a normal happy active life. She was a coach in many sports and formed close relationships to the handicapped that grew up with my sister. I will miss her dearly.

The visitation and Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Mt. St. Vincent Convent, Riverdale, NY, on Tuesday, March 24th, 2015, from 1 PM to 5 PM with a vigil service at 4:15 PM. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 25th, 2015 at 9:30 AM. Interment will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Yonkers, NY

Marianne worked for the New York Telephone Company for over forty years, as an operator. She had a kind heart and compassion for others that everyone she met thought of her like a mother.
Visitation at the Flynn Memorial Home Inc., (325 South Broadway) Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, Wednesday 10 at St. Mary’s R. C. Church.
Interment will follow at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, New York.

Obituary Preview: Mary Sudol (nee Buczek) passed peacefully from this life on February 12 at The Suffield House in Suffield, Connecticut at 101 years of age.. Born on July 14, 1913, she was a lifelong resident of Yonkers and parishioner of St. Casimir's Church.
She married her husband of 43 years, Michael Sudol, on August 31, 1940, with whom she had four loving children: Mary Anne Schilling, Barbara Miller, Peter (deceased) and Alicia Wright. She was blessed with five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and is survived by her brother Peter, of Sun City Arizona and several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her sisters, Sophie and Julia, her brother Joseph, and son-in-law Richard Miller.
Mary was devout, loving, caring and generous not only to her family but also to her friends and neighbors. She loved baking, music, plants, and flowers.
She will be lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
May she rest in the peace of the risen Lord.
Visiting hours will be at Flynn Memorial Home, (325 South Broadway), Yonkers, NY, 10 am – 11:30 am on Friday February 2015, followed by a 12:00 pm Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at St. Casimir’s R. C. Church. Interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, New York.

Obituary Preview: Ms. Melissa "Lisa" Brown was born on December 19th, 1969 to Angie Brown and George Singleton in the Bronx. Melissa received her formal education through the Bronx/Manhattan Public School System.
Evangelist Brown accepted Christ as her Saviour at Mount Pleasant Penatcostal Church in the Bronx. She was currently attending Christian Abundant Love Ministry Inc. under the leaderships of Pastors Louis and Donna Modeste. Lisa was a home attendant for over a decade where she served dutifully until she stepped down to enter the ministry fulltime. She loved singing in the choir , she served on the Usher Board and then the Lord called her to preach. She enjoyed spending time with her son, brother , sister and best friend.
Lisa was truly blessed.
She departed this life on February 7th, 2015. She leaves to cherish her memory, one amazing son, Steven A. Mcwillis; her beloved sister, Elizabeth Sterling; her very protective brother, Emmanuel Sterling; and one special Sister-In-Christ who was also her best friend, Jackie Smalls; three aunts, Theordora "Teddy" Tucker, Pearl House and Connie Brown; one Uncle, Thomas Doctor; and a host of loving relatives, church family and friends.
