Robert Joseph Giromini - April 20, 1953 - February 22, 2019

Departed: 02/22/2019 (Tampa)
Obituary Preview: Bob’s last day with his family was February 22, 2019 where he fought an extended illness after successful treatment of melanoma at Moffitt Cancer Center, Tampa, FL. Bob was a beloved husband, father and friend to those that were touched by his life and especially to his wife, Barbara and sons, Matt and Chris.
Bob began his journey in life in Syracuse, NY with his parents Nate and Jessie Giromini and his brothers and sister. Bob graduated from Syracuse University with his MBA and began work with IBM in Endicott, NY. Families grew as each brother and sister married. David to Marybeth; his twin Richard to Hilda, Donald to Anne and Elaine to Angie. Their families grew as well with nieces and nephews and Christmas was a special time for family celebration.
Bob married his life partner, Barbara and through good fortune had two sons: Matthew (Matt) and Christopher (Chris). They moved from Binghamton, NY where Bob transitioned from his career with IBM to personal financial planning in Nokomis, FL. Following the season of Hurricane Charlie, their next “adventure” was their home in Woodstock, MD where Bob partnered with his neighbor and friend, Brian Jolles to add financial services to Brian’s company. Life in Maryland was filled with friends, a family boot camp coordinated by Brian with Bob being the key coordinator behind the scenes. This included a successful quest for the Guinness World Record for the largest “Outdoor Circuit training”.
Following High School in Maryland, Matt graduated as a mechanical engineer from University of Florida and was hired by Exxon Mobil in Baton Rouge, LA. Chris graduated from University of Maryland as a Civil Engineer and is employed with Clark Construction in MD. Bob and Barb’s next adventure was moving back to FL but complicated by the diagnosis of melanoma and treatment.
Bob and Barb were fortunate to travel to Sedona, AZ in October 2018 for the marriage of Matt to Kelsey Welch. The beauty of that day and new family helped carry everyone through the challenging months during Bob’s hospitalization. However, Bob did not stop financial planning and helping people as he coached physicians and team members on personal finance.
He developed fast friendships with our new community in Valencia Lakes with the “ROMEOs” (Retired Old Men Eating Out), enjoying bowling and bocce besides trips with Barb.
His life will be celebrated by family and friends in Maryland on March 9, 2019 at St Alphonsus Rodriguez Church in Woodstock. Florida friends wishing to celebrate his life and accomplishments will be invited at a later date to celebrate in their home.

Nada F. Gandy - June 30, 1930 - February 13, 2019

Departed: 02/13/2019 (Tampa)
Obituary Preview: Nada F. Gandy - June 30, 1930 - February 13, 2019 - Joy and strength, beautiful and cool, sassy and full of humor, forever 29! Nada lived a life full of amazing memories and lessons learned, one of unconditional love and we will all be forever grateful to have been a part of who she was. She was born in St Petersburg, FL, raised in Palatka, FL, then settled with her husband, RL Gandy, in Plant City, FL, where they opened Gandy Glass. They loved the community where they lived and worked. If you walked into her life, you became family. She could be brutally honest with sincere concern for your well being. She would say "We weren't put here to judge, we were put here to love" and she lived that every day of her life. Every day was a deliberate choice for her. In hard times she would say "You have a choice to make the most out of even the worst of circumstances or choose to be miserable, which will make things worse and make you and others around you, miserable. It's not the end of the world - the sun will still come up tomorrow!" She gave her all for her family and if you asked each one who was her favorite, they'd answer "ME". Loved by 5 children, 9 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren, we will continue to let her love and goodness flow through those left behind to help make this world a nicer place. Our Nanie was so loving, accepting and always kind but seriously sassy! Another angel got her wings! A private service has already been held.
