Mildred Marie Villines - December 21, 1931 - January 28, 2024

Departed: 01/28/2024 (Caldwell)
Obituary Preview: Mildred Marie Villines December 21, 1931 – January 28, 2024
Mildred Marie [ Strohl ] Villines was born to Ernest E and Sylvia B [Robinson] Strohl on December 21, 1931 in Rose, Nebraska. Mildred was their second child, joining her older brother Ronnie.
Mom’s family lived in a sod home at the time of her birth. Shortly after she was born, they moved in to a home built by her grandfather Strohl. At a young age mom helped her brother Ronnie with some of the farm chores. She milked the family’s cow & took pride in taking care of her horse, Chief. She rode Chief to school, trusting him to get her to school & back, in the snowy cold winters. Mom went out in the very early morning before leaving for school to brush Chief before she saddled him.
Mom attended School in Nebraska until her family moved to Caldwell, ID her sophomore year where she attended Caldwell high school.
Mom met our father Steve Villines in Caldwell & they married on August 14th 1950. They started their family with the birth of Connie in 1953, Renee in 1954, Sandy in 1956, Vicki in 1958, Brian in 1964 & Rodney in 1966. Mom loved us 6 children with all of her heart.
Mom worked outside the home some, but she was mostly a homemaker. Throughout the years mom took great pride in caring for her home & yard. At 90 years old she continued to irrigate her one-acre yard.
Mom was a talented baker. Her homemade bread, cinnamon rolls & her famous whacky cake with fudge icing topped the list. Mom asked everyone who came to her home if she could fix them something to eat. If they left hungry it was because of their own doing.
Mom loved nature. She enjoyed camping & fishing with the family & friends over the years.
The friend’s mom made at Homedale Senior Citizens & the activities were a large part of her later years. She attended dances weekly, exercised & often enjoyed meals at the center.
At the end of last summer mom’s physical health began to decline, but she was able to live at home with the help of her son, Rodney. She received her care at Owyhee Health & Rehabilitation in December when our family was no longer able to care for her at home. Mom loved the staff & caregivers. She treated them with kindness, appreciation & thankfulness & they provided her with the best of care. We children visited mom daily to love on her. Our family is blessed mom had wonderful care while at Owyhee Health.
Idaho Home & Hospice provided excellent care for mom, both at her home & Owyhee Health. Every member of the hospice team was special to mom & our family is thankful for their care & concern for her.
We were blessed that mom had her wit, humor & beautiful smile even up to the day she passed. Mom was proceeded in death by her husband, Steve, in 2004 after 54 years of marriage, her daughter, Renee Murray, & great grandson Ryan Murray.
Surviving mom are her 5 children. Sons: Brian [Sharon] Villines, Rodney Villines. Daughters: Connie [Neil] Waterman, Sandy Packard, Vicki [Terry] Squibb. Grandchildren: Travis [Heather] Murray, Randy [Ranette] Murray, Stacy [Rhoeta] Murray, Gayle [Rick] Harrington, Mark [Danielle] Johnson, Rebecca [Chad] Jenkins, Kelly [Cameron] Jeans, Stacie Zenovich, Melissa Hansen, Shayna Davis, Josh [Wendy] Waterman, Hilary [Chuck] Hall & 31 great grandchildren.
Mom, may we live by your example of loving others, kindness & thankfulness & your advice “forgive & forget.” We have assurance you are now at peace in your heavenly home & we look forward to seeing you again. You will forever be in our hearts.

Departed: 12/09/2023 (Caldwell)
Obituary Preview: Sadly, on December 9th, 2023, at 1:45 AM, Cheryl Susan Storms went to be with our Father in heaven.
Cheryl was born in Wichita, Kansas on August 7th, 1946, to Edith and Halbert Meeker. Cheryl had a brother Halbert (Robyn) Meeker, and a sister Connie (Jerry) Gibson.
They later moved to California, where she graduated from Eisenhower High School in 1964. She then attended San Joaquin Delta College in Stockton California. Cheryl was on the Presidents Honor Roll, majoring in Liberal Arts, and Special Education. Sometime after that, Cheryl moved to Idaho in 1976, and went to Boise State University, again majoring in Liberal Arts/Special Education. Later going to Treasure Valley Community College, taking computer classes, Lotus, DOS, Word Perfect 1 & 2, in the Nampa/Caldwell area.
In the 77 years that Cheryl lived, she was so many things to so many people. A mother, wife, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, a friend, and so much more.
She married her first husband Douglas N. Finch in 1965, (divorced in 1977). They had 3 children together. Keliegh, Glenn and Douglas Finch. Cheryl’s children gave her 6 grandchildren. 2 from Keliegh (Tony Jenkins), Sara and Suzanna (Colby Durrant) with a great grandchild, Nikaya. From Glenn (Andrea Poppleton-Finch) 4 grandchildren, Austin, Dillon, Camden and Bailey with a great grandchild Jude.

In her earlier years Cheryl was outgoing, a little tomboyish and loved being outdoors. One of Cheryl and her husband Jim’s favorite place to go hunting and camping was in Council Idaho. They also liked to go riding 4wheelers in the Owyhee’s with family and friends. Cheryl loved to go on long walks and hiking in the mountains. She also liked being home tending to her garden and rose bushes or just puttering around in the yard. She loved to play games with family, friends and neighbors. Games like 10,000, Ship Captain Crew, RCL, and 3’s away. Cheryl also loved playing cards, Rummy, Canasta, Golf, and Kings corner. But hands down (pun intended) Poker was her all-time favorite. It didn’t matter when or where; she was always ready to take your money and she’d do it with a loving smirk on her face. Going to Firebird raceway to see what the ole 442 could do and car cruises, especially to Jackpot Nevada, she always looked forward to. No matter how tired she was or what kind of mood she was in, she was always ready to gamble. When Cheryl wasn’t working, (or trying to get to Jackpot), she was relaxing at home. Another hobby she loved, is to read, and even had a couple subscriptions for them. Cheryl loved to bake for any and everyone she could, for any reason. She would bake you a rock-hard buckaroo cake for your birthday or burn some cookies for you just because.
It was a privilege to know Cheryl, and you were a fortunate person to know her and even more to have her in your life.
Cheryl is, and always will be very, very missed, and never forgotten.

Sage was excited to begin school this fall. She already knew her numbers and letters and was starting to learn how to read. She knew much about the natural world in which she played. Family and friends find her loss inexplicable, horrible, and incomprehensible, but we must accept this irreversible reality with grace and hope that her spirit will enlighten the next world.
Sage’s heart, liver and kidneys were donated to save other’s lives.
Preceding her in death was her maternal grandmother and horse trainer, Cynthia Kidder. Remaining in addition to her parents and her brother and sister are her maternal grandfather, Brent Kidder of Wilder, her paternal grandparents, Grant and Cathleen Hegerhorst, of Bruneau, five paternal aunts and one uncle and on the maternal side, an aunt and an uncle.
Friends and family will gather on August 25th @ 4pm. to celebrate Sage’s life at the Owyhee County Community Center in Homedale, Idaho.

Departed: 04/09/2023 (Caldwell)
Obituary Preview: Hazel Marie Bittick, 84, of Notus, Idaho, joined her husband in heaven on April 9, 2023. Hazel was born January 7, 1939, in Adair, Oklahoma to Roy and Evelyn McLaughlin and was one of six children. In 1947 she and her family moved to Idaho where she grew up in the Caldwell area with many hour spent at the labor camp working in the fields, babysitting children, and going to the local dances. It was one of these dances that she met the love of her life, Thomas (Babe) Bittick and they were married September 21, 1955. To that marriage they added four children; Tanya, Brenda, Tommy, and Roy (Ed).
Hazel could tell stories of the shenanigans Babe, Tuft, Alice, and herself got into when they were younger that would leave you rolling on the floor. Through the years, the family enjoyed numerous camping, hunting, and fishing adventures with other family and friends with everyone always having a wonderful time.
Hazel worked for many years as a waitress in Caldwell at Mr. V’s, The Elks Lodge, and the See-N-I where she enjoyed joking with all of her customers. After 30 years, she retired and spent time with her grandchildren and eventually, great-grandchildren, watching them play sports, going out to lunch, shopping, going for a drive, helping her find her car in the parking lot because she was sure someone had moved it making them laugh as she made a funny face and spit her teeth out. Along with her children and spouses, they all held an incredibly special spot in her heart. During the last few years, she looked forward to the regular adventures exploring the countryside with her granddaughters.
She knew not a stranger and was always the life of any party or events that she attended. Her love for people is what drove her back to work at Idaho Nut Hut selling cinnamon roasted nuts and genuinely enjoyed every minute talking and joking and getting hugs from everyone that stopped by.
Hazel was a devoted wife, mother, sister-in-law, aunt, grandma, great-grandma, friend and so much more. She had a heart of gold and big shoes that will never be filled. She will be missed dearly by all that had the opportunity to know her.
Hazel is survived by a brother-in-law, Tuft Bittick, her daughter Brenda (Ed) Christopher, Tom (Deb) Bittick, Ed (Donna) Bittick, grandkids; Heather, Heidi, Michael, Rachel, Tasha, Chase, Mackenzie, Jacob, and 25 great-grandkids and multiple nieces and nephews.

Randy Ernest Clemens - November 24, 1963 - March 05, 2023

Departed: 03/05/2023 (Caldwell)
Obituary Preview: Randy Ernest Clemens, 59, of Caldwell, Idaho passed away early Sunday morning, March 5, 2023.
He was born on November 24, 1963, to Howard and Myrtie “Wendy” Clemens in Caldwell, ID. He had 3 older sisters and a younger sister. His sisters were delighted to have a baby brother and as the only boy he was spoiled by them.
During his childhood the family moved around a few times but spent most of their time in Caldwell.
As a child and later as a teenager, Randy was surrounded by many cousins who he was close with. He would often tell stories about the mischief his cousins, siblings, and himself got into growing up. He spoke very fondly of these memories.
In 1989, Randy was introduced to the love of his life, Esther Marie Baber. Their romance quickly blossomed, and they welcomed their first daughter, Amanda Noel, in December 1990. Randy was over the moon about being a father. Their little family grew in November 1992 with the birth of their only son Thomas Matthew. The family was complete with the birth of their youngest daughter, Taylor Renae, in December 1996. He and Esther were married on May 18, 2002.
Randy proudly took on the role of father figure to his sister-in-law Susan’s four children, Jordan, Mychaela, Troy and Sean. He always made sure that they knew he loved them as his own. He loved all his children beyond measure. Even on the days that they drove him crazy, he would kiss them on the head and say, “you’re lucky I love you.”
Randy had many jobs throughout the years to help provide for his family but spent most of his working years as a Security Guard for Simplot.
Randy loved children and was filled with joy to become a grandpa. He had five grandchildren and a sixth on the way. Being “Papa” to this wild bunch was one of his favorite roles.
Randy loved the outdoors. He was always up for camping, fishing, hunting, and going to the shooting range. He enjoyed telling stories about his life. The kids would often joke that they had his stories memorized because he would unknowingly repeat the same ones. He loved history and was the man that you wanted on your team during trivia. He knew so much about everything and was always teaching everyone around him something new. He rewatched his favorite shows, Frasier and Cheers, repeatedly and loved that it had become a family favorite. He was an avid sports fan, and would want us to add in, “Dallas Cowboys Rule!”, on his behalf. He enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys, the New York Yankees, and the Los Angeles Lakers with his son.
He was always kind and generous. To know him was to love him. He will be missed by every person whose life he touched while here.
He is preceded in death by his father, Howard Clemens; his sister Sheila Harshbarger; his niece, Shelly Rosenberry; his grandparents, Samuel and Myrtie Hensley, Raymond and Mary Clemens; and brother-in-law, Rob Kitchen.
He is survived by his wife, Esther Clemens, his mother, Myrtie “Wendy” Clemens; his three children, Amanda (Alex) Eccard, Thomas (Hailee) Clemens, and Taylor Clemens. His “bonus” children, Jordan Baber, Mychaela Baber, Troy Elstun and Sean Elstun. His sisters Cheryl (Wayne) Shroll, Reina Kitchen, and Shawna (Ben) Hinkle; His sister-in-law, Susan (Greg) Elstun; His brother-in-law Greg Harshbarger; His grandchildren; Autumn, Kingsley, Jackson, Camden, Hudson, and Oliver; and many nieces and nephews.
We love you, old man. Cheers and Goodnight Seattle

Barbara Jean Fiez - July 04, 1940 - November 17, 2022

Departed: 11/17/2022 (Caldwell)
Obituary Preview: Barbara Jean Fiez, beloved wife, mother, sister, and grandmother, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home on November 17, 2022, with her husband of 60 years and children by her side. Barbara entered the world in 1940 as a 4th of July baby born in the small town of Oakdale, CA. One of the grandest memories of her early life was the birth of her sister, with whom she shared a deep and everlasting bond. As a young child she wrote proudly of being part of a “league of nations,” with parents Elvira and Leo Zaro only one generation removed from immigrants who arrived from Hungary and Italy. She met her future husband Edward in Oakdale, first as a 6th grade classmate, later as a high school friend, and then as a lifelong partner when they wed on July 7, 1962. Barbara and Ed forged a marriage filled with love, respect, and mutual support. Together, they and their two young children relocated to Idaho in 1968. There, she worked as a bank teller so that Ed could complete a Master’s degree in dairy science from the University of Idaho. Following his graduation in 1970, they relocated to Caldwell, Idaho, where she continued as a teller at the Bank of Idaho, and he started his career as a dairy extension specialist.
Barbara was a trailblazer who quietly led by example with a smile on her face and a laugh in her voice. She was a doer who kept moving until things were done right. She worked evenings to gain the certificates needed to advance her banking career, eventually retiring as the manager of a Zion’s bank branch in Wilder. Along the way, she mentored many women in their careers and helped countless families by providing the financial backing and advice needed for them to realize their dreams. She gave generously of her time to others as a steadfast member of Soroptimist International, Catholic Women’s League, Women of Faith, and the P.E.O. sisterhoods, yet her family was always her first priority and source of greatest joy. She was the one who doled out the chores and the allowance, she was the one who made sure the camping box had plenty of homemade cookies, and she was the one who waited up to make sure everyone was home safe. Hands-down, she was Ed’s favorite fishing partner.
Barbara is survived by her husband, Edward Fiez, her son Tim and wife Terri (Corvallis, OR) and their two sons Trevor and Tanner; her daughter Julie Fiez and husband Steven Jacobs (Pittsburgh, PA), and their two sons Alex and Peter; and her sister Bette Miller and husband Alan (Lacey, WA) and their two sons Christopher and Scott. Barbara’s family is so grateful for the support they have received from friends, neighbors, and caregivers. They will miss her greatly but take solace from many warm memories and the knowledge that she is now free from the Parkinson’s disease that she endured without complaint or bitterness; it may have slowed her step and body, but it never took her spirit.
Those wishing to make a memorial gift are invited to contribute to the P.E.O. STAR Scholarship project, which provides support for high school women to attend college (P.E.O. Foundation, 3700 Grand Avenue, Des Moines, IA 50312; on behalf of Barbara Fiez, Chapter BM, Caldwell, ID). Condolences may be left at flahifffuneralchapel.com. There will be a celebration of life after the first of the year.
