Tracy Lynn Simmons - September 01, 1972 - April 17, 2022

Departed: 04/17/2022 (Nevada)
Obituary Preview: Tracy Simmons life-long dream came true on April 17, 2022 when she was finally able to look into the eyes of her beloved Savior, Jesus Christ.  Her heart is full, satisfied and completely at peace in His presence now. Born in Miller, South Dakota on September 1, 1972 to the late Keith and Judy (Pickinpaugh) Harvey, Tracy was blessed with both a younger brother, Justin, and a younger sister, Angela.  Tracy met Shannon Simmons in Searcy, Arkansas during her freshman year at Harding University.  Of Shannon, Tracy said, “He was, and is, my best friend.”  After she graduated with a Bachelor of Social Work the two were married in 1994 and thus began their 27 years of building a life together.  Some of the most abundant and beautiful fruit from this union would have to be their twelve children: Meredith (Weston) Byler, Carter, Claire, Hunter, Sophie, Olivia, Thatcher, Hosanna, Archer, Cooper, Tanner and Amelia.  Of the joys and pains of motherhood, Tracy said, “The reason I have 12 children is because I wanted to trust God with every part of my life...and it was the hardest thing I've ever done.”
Tracy enjoyed growing herbs outside, decorating her home and cooking meals for her family.  She also liked making crafts but as the busyness of life allowed little time for that, she saw cooking as her main creative outlet.  With so many students in the home, Tracy spent the bulk of her days teaching.  She enjoyed finding new ways to help them learn and it tickled her that she taught her own children to read.    She especially liked making up games for them to engage in.
No commentary of Tracy's life would be complete without mentioning the medical trauma that she endured in December of 2017.  God's power and care were certainly on display after the birth of Amelia as He miraculously saved them both. A favorite activity of Tracy's was worshiping Jesus through song.  She said, “I really, really do love Jesus.  I picture Him when I worship and I'm really excited to meet Him.”
She is survived by her loving husband, Shannon, her 12 cherished children, brother, Justin Harvey of Del Rapids, SD, sister, Angela (Jeff) Fitzgerald of Sioux Falls, SD, nephews Parker and Zachary Harvey, Peyton and Christopher Fitzgerald and a niece Kayla Snelling.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at Rinehart Christian Church in Richards, MO with Pastor Kevin Moyers officiating. Interment will follow in Rinehart Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-7:00 p.m. on Friday evening at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada.

Tanner Cole Morgan - August 08, 2017 - April 01, 2022

Departed: 04/01/2022 (Nevada)
Obituary Preview: On Friday, April 1, 2022, our brave little angel was called home to Heaven. “Tator” Tanner Cole Morgan touched many lives in his short 4 1/2 years of life.  Defying odds that he would never be able to do what most children his age could. He often vocalized his needs, “Mom, Momma, luv ew, yes, no, hungy, hold Dadda, and several other words. He brightened everyone’s day with his smiles and laughter.  He showed all of us he was playful and no one or no thing was going to keep him down.
Tanner loved music, colors of lights, car rides, hugs, and kisses.  He especially loved to get his snuggles in, he couldn’t get enough of it; he also loved to be read to and sung to. And his tubby time, always moving around to splash you then get mad when it was time to get out.  He liked his chin and tummy rubbed and tried to get away when you tickled his feet or under his arms.
Tanner loved to get his Eskimo kisses, have his forehead rubbed, and Momma’s fingers through his hair. He would kick you to make sure you were there sitting next to him and would even try to scoot himself off the couch to scare his Momma, laughing as he was doing this.
Tanner really didn’t do well meeting new people, so he would play opossum and just peek out to see if they were still there.
Tanner is survived by his parents, Wesley and Amanda (Brown) Morgan, of the home; brothers and sisters, Lynzie Morgan, Isabelle Morgan, and Kaylee Morgan, all of the home, Austin White, Joplin, MO, Gregory Almond, Nevada, MO, Ethan Morgan, Kansas City, MO, Steve Morgan, of the home, and Wesley Morgan, El Dorado Springs, MO; grandparents, Wesley and Beverly Brown, Kansas City, KS; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins, and a nephew, Walker Green.  He was preceded in death grandparents, Wesley Morgan, Sr., Herb Beisley, and Barbara Beisley.

Why are obituaries important?

The length of an obituary can vary depending on the publication and the family's preferences. Typically, it ranges from a few sentences to several paragraphs.
