Obituary Preview: Steven Roy DeWitt, of Tumbling Shoals, Arkansas, passed away April 22, 2024, at the age of 74 at Baptist Health Hospital in Heber Springs, Arkansas. Steve was born on August 2, 1949, in Santa Ana, California, to the late Jesse Raymond and Hildred Grace (nee Strandell) DeWitt. He grew up in Orange County, California, and graduated from Westminster High School in 1967.
Steve married Sally Ann Lewis on November 04, 1978, and they settled in Ontario, California. Steve had many passions in life, and family was first. He had a fierce love for family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren, and loved to spend special time with family as often as possible. Food (especially if crab legs were being served), fun, and lots of laughter were always a great part of spending time with Grandpa Steve. Another of Steve’s passions was all things flying and airplanes, which came about while he worked at McDonnell Douglas in Long Beach, California in his early working career. It was a DeWitt family affair as he worked alongside his dad, Raymond, and his uncles, Donald, and Dorrence DeWitt. When McDonnell Douglas had a massive lay off in the late 1980’s, Steve went to work as a Sales/Route Driver for Arrowhead Water, where he worked until his retirement. In 2004, Steve and Sally moved to Tumbling Shoals, Arkansas, where they built a beautiful home and enjoyed riding their Honda Goldwing in the picturesque mountains of the Ozarks with family and friends. Steve’s other passions included Rams football, Ford and Hyundai vehicles, and travel. Steve was always up for a trip, especially if it involved sunshine or a cruise. His favorite destinations were St. Kitt’s and St. Martin, but it really didn’t matter, he’d go anywhere. He was our go to guy for finding the best travel deals.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Hildred DeWitt, his sister, Everetta Caviezel, and his brother, Ray.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 45 years, Sally DeWitt, of Tumbling Shoals, Arkansas, sister Judi (Bill) McCarthy of Pocatello, Idaho, sister-in-law Anita DeWitt of Tumbling Shoals, Arkansas, son Steven (Kristy) DeWitt, Jr., of Searcy, Arkansas, daughter Kristi (Rob) Hernandez of North Carolina, stepdaughters Kim Smith (Tim) of Mountain Home, Arkansas, Shelly Godley of West Palm Beach Florida, and Lynn Scheffler of Heber Springs, Arkansas, and stepson Rob (Lisa) Scheffler of Stockton, Missouri, as well as 16 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Pursuant to Steve’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of Steve’s life will be held on May 11, 2024, at 1:00 pm at Family Funeral Service, 100 W. Searcy Street, Heber Springs, Arkansas 72543.

Mandy Kathleen Larios - September 03, 2004 - April 20, 2024

Departed: 04/20/2024 (Heber Springs)
Obituary Preview: Mandy Larios, the child of Kathy and Manny Larios, was born on September 3, 2004 in Hayward, California and passed away on April 20, 2024 in Conway, Arkansas at the age of nineteen. Mandy was a shining light who lit up every room that she entered, and not only touched your heart, she touched your soul. Her smile was contagious. She lived each and every moment to the fullest and loved with her whole heart. When she was three years old, she moved to Heber Springs. Not long after, she attended Heber Springs Elementary School and then Heber Springs Middle School. It was at this young age where Mandy's love of sports began. She played basketball and softball but neither held a candle to her first love, soccer. She was a true competitor and a national champion, but Mandy was not a one trick pony... she also excelled in school and was an amazing artist. Mandy went to St. Joseph's Catholic High School where she began a new adventure and made so many friends that became like family.  Her love of soccer continued in high school and she won many awards including being named All State and All Conference, to name a few. Mandy loved to read, the beach, to go out for ice cream sundaes, cheering on the steelers, and Joe Burrow, (her future husband, he just didn’t know it yet!)
Last fall Mandy became a freshman at the University of Central Arkansas where she found her new passion... being a member of the Sigma Kappa sorority. She loved this new chapter in her life. With Sigma Kappa, Mandy made many friends who became sisters. One of her main goals with Sigma Kappa was to give back, and she spent much of her time doing just that, donating her time and talents to many charitable causes. At the end, Mandy gave the ultimate gifts of love as she was a registered organ donor. In life, she touched everyone she came into contact with in a special way, and through her generous gifts, Mandy will continue to impact others by saving lives for the next decade. Mandy had a gift of taking the ordinary and making it extraordinary. She was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew her.
Mandy is preceded in death by her grandfather, Raymond Hazinski and uncle, Jimmy Faria.
Mandy is survived by her parents, Kathleen Hazinski Larios and Manuel Larios; brother, Thomas Henry Larios; grandmother, Geraldine Hazinski; Godparents, Rene Eichelberger and Paul Eichelberger; great-aunt and uncle, Carolee Keins and Douglas Keins; aunts and uncles, Kelly Gervasi and Philip Gervasi, Maureen Harrod and Lee Harrod; cousins: Raymond Gervasi, Gerry Samantha Eichelberger, Robert Eichelberger, Anthony Gervasi, Gabrielle Gervasi, Jackson Harrod, Rylee Harrod, Jacob Harrod, Chloe Eichelberger, Ryan Harrod, Kerry Keins Mutschelknaus, Joseph Mutschelknaus, Connor Mutschelknaus, Quinn Mutschelknaus, and Emerson Mutschelknaus.
