Carol Mary Crumbley took her last breath this side of eternity, Thursday, April 25th, 2024, peacefully at home surrounded by the beauty she loved.
Carol is the adoring wife and best friend of Sam Crumbley of Fernandina Beach. The two resided in the scenic serenity of Amelia Island, Florida, where they married on the beach 14 years earlier surrounded by their loving families, children, and grandchildren.
Born into a vibrant family of six children loved unconditionally by parents Margaret M. and Robert A. Juliano of South Orange, NJ, Carol Mary was born September 1st, 1946 in Orange, NJ.
An avid gardener who artistically designed flowery pots overflowing with pastels, a creative, a painter, a decorator, self-taught interior designer, systematic organizer, lover of adorable farm animals, especially pigs, mini dachshund puppies, laughter, HGTV and fashion, who also selflessly loved to a fault.
Known for her infectious, affection for Barry Manilow, music playing at full volume, baking perfect apple pies, fashioning presents and bows brimming with love and meticulously planning everyone’s birthdays and special occasions, which she never forgot. In a heart filled with beauty, her family was at the center. She forever imparted unforgettable wisdom to her daughter, she told her, to be a beautiful flower in God’s garden for anyone who needed His love and beauty. One of Carol's favorite expressions is the hallmark of how she lived, “sing like no one is listening, love like you’ve never been hurt, dance like no one is watching.”
Loving mother to daughter Pamela Surano Maloney of Pittsburgh, PA. Adoring "Momma Carol" to grandchildren James Maloney, Michael Maloney and Mary Maloney of Pittsburgh, PA. Loving Stepmom to many children and grandchildren: John Crumbley (Diane), Mattie, Elliott of Commerce, GA; Christopher Crumbley (Alexis), Susan, Claire of Austin, TX and William Crumbley (Elyse), Eleanor of Boston, MA. Loving sister to surviving siblings Mark Juliano of Blairstown, NJ, Gary Juliano of Zelienople, PA and Mary Juliano Chisholm (Robbie) of Largo, FL. Preceded in death by beloved sister Lorraine and brother Bobby.
Carol was brilliant in her work in the travel and freight logistics business in New Jersey and then in Atlanta Georgia, where she transferred in the 1990s. Carol retired from Pilot Freight Services in March 2013 and moved to Fernandina Beach with her husband, Sam. Carol jumped back into the workforce during retirement to put her inner artist to work at Talbots where she made many friends and enjoyed wonderful interaction with customers. An effortless fashionista with striking features and a bouncy full head of gorgeous locks she was also a skillful seamstress who designed her own clothes along with her daughters’ childhood dresses which contained her famous insignia “Fashioned By Carol.”
Carol loved her family and the many friends she had made over the years. Her passions were many in a heart that overflowed with love. “Tell me, when will our eyes meet, when can I touch you? When will this strong yearning end. And when will I hold you again?”-Barry Manilow
Carol Mary Crumbley, epitome of love and beauty, in the arms of Jesus.
A celebration of life, a time to remember and celebrate Carol’s life with friends and family, will be held at 3 PM, Saturday May 18, 2024 at the Amelia River Club, 4477 Buccaneer Trail, Fernandina Beach, FL.
