Obituary Preview: Beverly Jo Brockman, 88, of Pleasant Plains, passed away on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at her home.
Beverly was born on June 19, 1933, in Sangamon County, IL., the daughter of Russell and Iris (Lyons) Sutherd. She married Lucien (L.C.) Brockman on July 15, 1951, in Pleasant Plains and he preceded her in death on May 11, 2012. Beverly was a homemaker and most importantly a foster mother to many children.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband,  brother, Myron Sutherd and one grandson.
Beverly is survived by her children, Deborah (Richard) Brown, Michael (Chloe) Brockman, Mark Brockman, Chery (Mark) Densmore and Christopher (Angie) Brockman, as well as 18 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren,  7 great great grandchildren with 2 more due in 2022 and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at a later date.

Elizabeth Ann Redding - August 27, 1941 - April 18, 2022

Obituary Preview: Elizabeth Ann Redding, 80, of Springfield, passed away on Monday, April 18, 2022 at her residence.
Elizabeth was born August 27, 1941 in Springfield the daughter of Theodore R and Emma (Berry) Matthew.  She married Ronald Lee Redding Sr. on March 26, 1960 in Springfield; he survives.
Elizabeth was a homemaker and enjoyed refinishing furniture and Antiquing.  She was a mother to all the neighborhood kids, loved to cook and she made amazing pies.  She enjoyed fishing and long Sunday drives. She was preceded in death by her parents; and four siblings. Charles Matthew, Helen Noyes, Karen McMasters and Patricia Thomas
She raised four children, Rhonda (George) Oldridge, Ronald (Jeanette) Redding Jr., Thomas Redding and Kim Redding; she also raised one grandson, Jeremiah Redding; she is also survived by two siblings, Robert Matthew and Barbara Magowan; eleven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 22, 2022 at Ellinger-Kunz & Park Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Hanson officiating.  Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.

Anton "Butch" Robert Butchek - January 10, 1943 - April 16, 2022

Butch was born on January 10, 1943, in Springfield, the son of Anton and Ann (Powers) Butchek.
He married Judith Ann Skeeters on June 29, 1963, and she preceded him in death in 2020. Butch worked for the city of Springfield as a traffic engineer. He enjoyed playing horseshoes, grilling, working outdoors and was a diehard Cubs fan. Butch also enjoyed spending time with his dog, Wiggles, and loved his Husky, Yukon.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife; Judith, daughter, Amy Yaris; son, Bobby Joe; brother, Mike (Ethel) Butchek; sisters Pat (Bill) Hood, and Kay (Bill) James.
Butch is preceded by his daughter, Connie Leach; grandson, Robby Leach; son in law, Steve Yaris; and brother in law, James A. Skeeters.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 21, 2022 at Ellinger- Kunz & Park Funeral Home, 530 N. Fifth Street, from 9:00AM until the time of the funeral service at 10:30AM with Pastor Clint Cook officiating.
Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Springfield. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association

Obituary Preview: Mary Lynn Culler, age 85 of Springfield, passed away on April 14, 2022 at Carriage Crossing Senior Living of Taylorville. She was born in Springfield, IL on March 30, 1937 to Henry and Clara L. (Long) Gebben.
She married Arthur F. Culler in 1987. He preceded her in death in 2004. She is also preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Hank, and sister-in-law, Cinda Gebben.
Mary Lynn attended Springfield High School, Brown Business College, and retired from City, Water, Light, and Power in 1992. She is survived by her three sons, Harold H. Patterson, Michael D. Patterson, and Daniel S. (Renee) Patterson of Springfield, her brother Phillip B. Gebben of Springfield, granddaughter Stephanie Patterson, grandson TJ Patterson, her niece, Megan, and nephew, Brendan.
Mary Lynn was an active member of her community, being a proud participant in multiple groups and organizations over the years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Amaranth, Lalla Rookh Eastern Star, Abeba Temple no. 42, past Queen 2001 Daughters of the Nile, White Shrine Abraham Lincoln, past President IBT Sunday School, past Vice President Church Women United, past President Marjorie Post Circle Kings Daughter, Head Up Devotion for Kings Daughter, President of Ansarettes, The Lions Club, American Business Women Assoc. Land of Lincoln Chapter #425, Academy of Life Long Learning, Prairie State Red Hats, Survivors, Christian Women Connection, and board member and Assistant Treasurer of AARP Chapter 195.
Ellinger-Kunz & Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. No public visitation will be held. Burial will be held at Oak Ridge Cemetery, attended by family.

Susan is survived by her parents, Wayne of Kalamazoo, MI and Janet of Springfield; brother, William (Dallas) Edwards of Springfield; sister, Debbie (Brian) Archer of Chatham; daughters, Miranda Frankell of Colorado Springs, CO, and Anastasia (Karen) Bergner-McNeece Jacksonville, IL; son, Joshua Edwards of Springfield; one granddaughter, “Libby”; her niece, Charlotte; as well as several extended family members and friends.
Susan was a very hard-worker and lovable. She was employed at the Secretary of State for 22 years and enjoyed remodeling homes and traveling with her family.  She cared deeply for her family, neighbors and animals. Susan enjoyed riding her bike, traveling and especially enjoyed going to Disney World with her family.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday April 12, 2022 from 4:00PM till the time of the eulogy at 6:00PM at Ellinger-Kunz and Park Funeral Home, 530 North 5th St. Springfield, IL 62702.

David was born on November 8, 1953 the son of Frank and Mary (Conlon) Warren.
David worked for the United States Postal Service as a letter carrier, retiring after 35 years of service. He had a connection with the funeral home because it was on his route for 10 years. He enjoyed talking with the people who worked in the funeral home.
His favorite pastime was playing No Limited Texas Hold-Em. He loved going to concerts with his children, and has seen Heart, ZZ Top, Fleetwood Mac, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers and Joe Walsh. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, tennis, and having fish fry’s with his family. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed attending his granddaughter’s academic and sporting events. He enjoyed watching movies about bank robberies and westerns. He also enjoyed going to car shows. He loved making his chili and having old fashion wiener roasts.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
His is survived by his children, Joshua David (Mischa) Warren of Chatham and Courtney Lynn Warren of Washington D.C.; granddaughters, Mia and Kileigh Warren; brother, Steve (Phyllis) Warren of Petersburg; sisters Janice (Rod) Stewart of Florida, Joyce (Rich Newman) Warren and Mary Warren both of Springfield; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A visitation will be held on Thursday April 7, 2022 at Ellinger-Kunz and Park Funeral Home, 530 North 5th St. Springfield, IL 62702 from 11:00am till the time of the Celebration of Life at 12:00noon. Reverend Larry Hanson will be officiating.

She was born September 5, 1929 in Alton to Russell Allen and Catherine Elizabeth McGregor Barnard. She grew up in Athensville and graduated from Greenfield High School in 1947.  She married Robert W. Richards on December 24, 1948 in Springfield. He preceded her in death in January 2004 after celebrating 55 years of marriage.
She was a CNA at Dirksen House from 1968 until 2001 when retired after 33 years of service. She enjoyed gardening, reading books, bird watching and playing with her cats. She was of Baptist faith.
Surviving are three daughters, Jo Leckrone of Southern View, June Phillips of Springfield, Jill (Donald) Dennis of Lincoln; two sons, Robert Jr., and Rick Richards, both of Springfield; five grandchildren, Allen (Ronda) Griffith, Jr. of Livingston, TX, Emily Ray of Malvern, AR, Steven (Sumer) Phillips of Springfield, Keith Jones of Knoxville, IA, Brandy (Josh) Burton of Springfield, and Andrew Schwarting of Springfield; six great-grandchildren; three great-greatgrandchildren; numerous step-grandchildren; numerous step-greatgrandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews, and sister-in-law, Imogene Lovekamp of White Hall.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Russell and Catherine McGregor Barnard; her husband, Robert Richards, Sr.; a daughter, Judy Richards; brother, Coover “Barney” Barnard and twin sisters, Lola Barnard Vlahon and Laura Barnard Reynolds.
Cremation rites have been accorded. Per her request, no funeral services will be held.  A private family burial will occur at Camp Butler National Cemetery at a later date.  Ellinger-Kunz & Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Memphis, Tennessee.

Suzanne J. Price - January 26, 1924 - March 23, 2022

Obituary Preview: Suzanne J. “Sue” Price, 98, of Springfield passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 23, 2022. Sue was born on January 26, 1924, was adopted in infancy, and raised by Frank C. and Dorothy N. Jones of Springfield. Sue attended and graduated from Lawrence Grade and Springfield High Schools. She began working at CIPS while in high school and continued there until she got married, at which time CIPS rules did not allow her to continue to be employed.
Sue married U.S. Army Air Force pilot H. Wayne Price on July 23, 1945. After World War II ended, they returned to Springfield where she worked for Mutual Life of New York and then for the Illinois County and Township Official magazine. She retired from there in 1978 after 25 years.
Sue owned her first pony at the age of six. Silver Sue was a silver pony with a white mane and tail that was kept in a stall that Sue’s father, Frank, built in the family’s garage on South Pasfield Street. Around the age of ten, Sue taught herself to stand on the back of Silver Sue. She utilized her new skill to visit the neighbor’s yard where she could then reach apples to pick off the neighbor’s tree and eat as a snack.
Sue’s riding and love for animals was a lifelong pursuit. She and Wayne always had horses and belonged to the Bar M and Sangamon County horse clubs. Beginning in 1970, Sue raised and exhibited Dachshunds (mainly the miniature variety) both in obedience and conformation. She was a charter member of the Lincolnland Dachshund Club and Capitol Canine Training Club where she served as registrar for eleven years. She maintained memberships and affiliations with many more animal-oriented organizations that are too numerous to detail. If it involved animals, it’s likely she belonged to it.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Harry Wayne Price. She is survived by her friends whom she loved dearly. A graveside service is being held at 10:00am on Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at Walnut Hill Cemetery, W Logan County Line Rd, Williamsville, IL 62693. Bud was a kind and gentle person who loved spending time with family and friends. Buds' grandchildren were the pride and joy of his life. He always had a smile on his face and a story on his lips.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Gary Harris; son, William E. Harris; daughter, Kimberly A. Harris; wife, Rose Harris; sisters Lillian Metzger, Wanda Graham, and Doris Payne; and brother, Richard Harris.
William is survived by two daughters, Heather Hudspeth and Sharon Harris; three sons, Bobby, Ricky and Scott Harris; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother, Donald Harris and sister, Sharon Squires.
William thought he was a great singer but he was truly a jokester at heart. He will be greatly missed by those of his friends and family that knew him.

Virginia Mae Schwarberg - August 31, 1922 - March 12, 2022

Obituary Preview: Virginia Mae (Prinzivalli) Schwarberg, 99, of Springfield, IL, passed away on Saturday, March 12, 2022, at River Birch Christian Village.
Virginia was the sixth of seven daughters of Baldasari (Ben) and Winnie (Lively) Prinzivalli.  She lived her entire life in Springfield, except for the years she was with her husband on military assignment.  She grew up on South 11th St., attended Feitshans for three years and transferred to Lanphier her senior year. She met her future husband at LHS.
Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse (2004), her daughter-in-law, Theresa, (2018), her parents, her in-laws, six sisters, six brothers-in-law, and four sisters-in-law.  She is survived by her daughter, Jan, of Los Angeles, CA, her son, Larry, of Park Forest, IL, and her cousin, Vito, of St. Louis, MO. Virginia joined Third Presbyterian Church in 1930 and was a lifelong member.  She was the assistant superintendent of the nursery class there for many years, and some members still refer to her as “Miss Ginny.”  Late in life she joined the church choir where she was known jokingly as “Hazel Green.”
Virginia and Jesse were avid dancers and fans of Big Band Music. They went to many dances and were often asked to do a “shag.”  Virginia was also a fan of broadway shows, and she entertained audiences in many places with her rendition of “I Can’t Say No” from Oklahoma.  Virginia was an outgoing, fun-loving person who loved to joke.  She even made her doctor blush by flirting with him before answering his question. Staff members at River Birch often told Larry that she made them laugh.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 17, 2022, at Ellinger-Kunz & Park Funeral Home, 530 North 5th St., Springfield, IL, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Visitation will resume on Friday, March 18 at Third Presbyterian Church, 1030 North 7th St., Springfield, IL, at 9:30 am until the time of the funeral service at 10:00 am.  Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery. Food will be offered in Fellowship Hall of the church after the rites at the cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to Third Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by his mother and father; grandma, Charity Tomizoli; grandpa, Carl Joseph Tomizoli Sr.; uncle, Carl Joseph Tomizoli Jr.; sister Lilly Leanne Bentley; and a very large extended family.
Cameron loved watching the character “Jeffy” and other videos on Youtube. He also enjoyed watching Anime and playing video games, especially Fortnite and Roblox. Cameron also loved all things “Superhero”. He had a huge heart of gold and he wanted to be friends with everyone that he met. He loved his family and friends dearly.
Cameron will have a visitation on Monday March 21 at Ellinger-Kunz and Park Funeral Home in Springfield, IL. Visitation will be held from 12:00noon till the time of the funeral service at 1:00pm. Pastor Clint Cook of Real Life Church will officiate and cremation services will follow.
Memorial donation may be made out to the family of Cameron Bentley to assist with expenses.

Ron retired from Bunn-O-Matic as a press operator. He loved the Chicago Cubs, but he also enjoyed fishing, drag racing, and watching NASCAR. Ron also enjoyed spending time as a HAM Radio Operator.
He was proceeded in death by his two sons, Ronnie and David.  In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Tina (Bill) LaMasters, Lori Bozarth, and Cherry (Jim) Miiddleton; two brothers, David and Mark Brest; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Cremation services are being accorded and a private gathering is being held. Ellinger-Kunz and Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.  Memorial contributions can be made to the Animal Protective League in Springfield.

He is survived by his five children, Danny (Susie Calillier) Dapron, Debra Reynolds, Diana (Gary) Thompson, Darlene (Kenny) Marx, Denise (Charles) Kunz, all of Springfield; one brother, Richards (Phyllis) Dapron; sister-in-law, Linda Glover; twenty-two Grandchildren, twenty-three Great Grandchildren, one Great Great Grandson; and several Nieces and Nephews.
Leo had many friends from Granada Lakes Resort in Ft. Myers, FL and Lost Arrow Campominium, in Havana, IL where him and Sharon spent many Great Times.
He was employed by Sangamo Electric, Allis Chalmers and retired from the City of Springfield Power Plant in 1995. He also raced at Midstate Kart Club for many years when he was a young man; he raced go-carts and loved every minute of it.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00PM on Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at Chatham Cemetery with Pastor Dan Eum officiating.

Audrey was born on December 30, 1925 in Watseka, Illinois the daughter of Alfred and Grace Legan.
She married Paul Armes on September 21, 1942 and he preceded her in death in September of 1966. Later, she married Victor Pratt in August of 1974 and he preceded her in death in July of 1977. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and five sisters.
Audrey is survived by three daughters, Paula Moore, Libby Foster, and Rosemary “Baby” Armes, and stepdaughter Gayla Pratt Kincaid; nine grandchildren, Angela Egan, Jessica Burke, Heather Pidcock, Ashley Foster, Audrey Moore, Stephenie McDevitt, Kaye Lynn Tupper, Alexis Armes, and Robert Long; nine great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren; several Nieces and Nephews, and a special companion, “Titan”.
Audrey retired from MCFarland Zone Center after 25 years as a Supervisor of Food Service. She spent 45 years in food service.
She was also a member of the Parkway Christian Church in  Springfield.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday March 9, 2022 at Ellinger-Kunz and Park Funeral Home, 530 North 5th St. Springfield, IL 62702 from 10:00am till the time of the funeral service at 12:00pm. Cremation services will follow and she will be laid to rest at Walnut Hill Cemetery in Williamsville, Illinois at a future date. Pastor Mark Gifford of Parkway Christian Church will be officiating the services. Memorials may be made to W.I.L.D. Chris enjoyed cooking for friends and family and was very funny. He loved people, was compassionate, and had a wonderful smile. He also loved his kitty. Chris was very passionate about Professional Wresting in Springfield and was a referee for the (PWA) Pinfall Wrestling Association.
Chris’s number one priority in life was being a loving and kindhearted Father to his daughter, Gabby.

He was proceeded in death by his parents; brother, Ned Padget; brother, Tim Padget; and nephew, Adam Padget. Paul is survived by his son, Wayne Padget; stepson, Robert Frank Schrock; sister, Joyce Norman; sister, Sheila Gabriel; brother, David Padget; as well as many Nieces and Nephews.
Cremation services were accorded. His Ashes will be inurned in the columbarium wall at Camp Butler National Cemetery. Military Honors will be held for Paul on Friday March 4, 2022 at Camp Butler National Cemetery at 2:00pm.
A Celebration of Life will follow at Endres Tavern, 1047 East Stanford Avenue Springfield, IL 62703 at 4:00pm.

She is survived by her children Eleanor Robertson, Margaret Bierbaum (William), Janet Lookis (Jerry), her son Charles Stephens, several Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren and Great Great Grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and two sisters, Mary Edstrom and Dorothy McGhiey (Donald).
Margaret enjoyed cooking, canning, and baking for her family. She also enjoyed embroidery and crocheting. Margaret was a woman of Faith and went to church often her whole life.
Graveside services will be held on Friday March 4, 2022 at Old Salem Cemetery/ Riddle Hill outside of Springfield. The service will begin at 11:00am with Pastor Keith Maston.
