Obituary Preview: Frank P. Hudy, 89, of Lake City, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 17, 2022 with his loving family by his side.
He was born on August 5, 1932, a son to the late John and Mary (Sowa) Hudy in Franklin Center, PA.
Frank was married to the love of his life, Peggy (Cotton) Hudy on October 25, 1952 until her passing on February 11, 1988.
Frank served his country as a Corporal in the US Army in the Korean War and was very proud of his military service.  His Grandsons followed him into the military with the Air Force which made him very proud.
Frank was employed as a carpenter with Dewey Vogt Construction for many years and built many homes in the Girard area.  He then went on to work his dream job with Tom Tushak Construction as a Foreman for many years and considered them family. He didn't consider it work because he loved what he did and worked there until he was 80 years young.  Working was his hobby.
He attended St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Girard and was a Life Member of the Girard American Legion Post #494 in Girard.
He will always be remembered as the Jack of All Trades and there was no job too big or small that he couldn't handle.
Frank and Peggy were blessed with two children, Jeff Hudy and Cindy (Dan) Williams.
He was the loving Grandfather of Danielle (Tony) Cassady and Michael (Devin) Williams and was the adored Great Grandpa to Leighton and Harper Cassady and  Savannah and Luke Williams. He is further survived by a sister, Rosalie "Rose" Harayda; in-laws, Pat Niedzielski, Melissa "Missy" Niedzielski, Dale Williams and David Williams; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by sisters, Genevieve Kimmins, Mildred Jelm, Tilda Bondaruk, Louise Lewandowski; brothers, Matthew Hudy, Stanley Hudy, Leonard Hudy, Edward Hudy and Joseph Hudy; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Thursday from 4PM to 7PM at Edder Funeral Home Inc., 309 Main St. East, Girard and attend a Prayer Service there on Friday at 10 AM with Rev. Scott Detisch officiating.
Burial with full military honors will be in the St. James Cemetery, Crossingville.

Obituary Preview: Arlene  P. Traut, 89 of Girard, passed away on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 following a brief illness.     She was born on March 4, 1933 to the late, Emory and Beryl (Cotton) Platz in Fairview, PA. Arlene graduated from Fairview High School in 1952.  After graduation, she attended Erie Commercial College, studying secretarial duties and graduated in 1953.  She then went to work at Security People Trust until the arrival of her children, staying home to take care of her family.  She returned to work as a bus driver for over 22 years with Fairview School District, retiring in 1995.     She was a member of Fairview Presbyterian Church. Arlene enjoyed the Casinos in Erie and Salamanca. She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, reading and puzzles.      Arlene is survived by her three daughters, Cynthia L. Bortnick of Conneautville, Penny L. Hopkins of Fairview, and Sherry A. DiMattio (John) of Girard; a son, George R. Traut, Jr. (Cassandra) of Warren, PA; a sister, Geraldine Foringer and brother, Larry Platz; seven grandchildren, Samantha McBeth (Mike), Melodie Fusco (Josh) , Danielle Hopkins, John DiMattio (Jaime), Megan Green (Shawn), Corey Traut, Kyle Traut; great grandchildren, Hailey Thornton (Jason), Hollie Bortnick, Josyln Fusco, Nicole Fusco, Emilia DiMattio, Ezra DiMattio, Austin Green, Ella Traut and Charlianne Traut; great great granddaughter, Kennedy Thornton and several nieces and nephews.     In addition to her parents, Arlene was preceded in death by her husband, George R. Traut in 2011 whom she married June 20, 1953 in Fairview, son-in-laws, Bill Bortnick and Robert "Bo" Hopkins.

Grace Irene Bennett - November 03, 1926 - April 10, 2022

Obituary Preview: Grace I. "Irene"  (Jones) Bennett, 95, of Albion, passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2022 at Regency at South Shore.  She was born November 3, 1926 in Cranesville, a daughter of the late James C. and Sylvia (Taylor) Jones.  Irene graduated from Albion High School in 1944. Following high school she worked for A & P Grocery Store in Albion and later Kennedy’s Store in Cranesville. For many years she was known throughout the area for baking cakes for weddings and events. She had fond memories of making clothes for her family and her priority was always taking care of them. In the 1960’s she was appointed as a Registrar for the State of Pennsylvania, where she filed documents for individuals with the state.  She was a member of the Wellsburg United Methodist Church until its closing. Upon the closing of the Wellsburg Church she became a member of Calvary United Methodist Church. She had been an active member holding many offices and acted as a Sunday School Teacher for over 50 years.  Grace and her husband were recognized in 1983 as “Sunday School Teachers of the Year”.   In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard A. Bennett in 1983, also by sisters, Gladys Sherman, Lucille Johnson, Ruth Campbell and Bonnie Jones in infancy; her brothers, LeRoy, Harold ,Clyde and Arnold Jones; and a grandson, Todd Olesnanik; sisters in law, Shirley Jones, Norma Jones, Ruth Jones, Audrey Jones and Bobbie Jones;  brothers in law, Jim Sherman,  Hugh Campbell and George Callahan; and a son in law, Woody King.  She will be greatly missed by her family, which includes her daughters, Shirley J. King (Mario Angelero) of Port Charlotte, FL, Beth E. Olesnanik (Steve); a son, Loren C. Bennett (Mollie) of Cranesville; her grandchildren, Tim Olesnanik (Mary); Tom Olesnanik ; Kelly Lascak, Travis Bennett; two step grandchildren, Cody and Dillon Jundzilo; a sister, Elsie M. Callahan; brothers, Bernell Jones and Edward Jones (Charlene); also several nieces and nephews.  Friends may call at the Edder Funeral Home, 309 Main St. East, Girard on Thursday from 2PM to 4 PM and 6 PM to 8 PM. Raymond J. Brzozowski - November 03, 1942 - April 09, 2022

Obituary Preview: Raymond J. Brzozowski, Sr. 79, of Platea Borough,, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, following a sudden illness at St. Vincent Hospital on Saturday April 9, 2022.
Ray was born in Erie, PA on November 3, 1942, the only son of the late, John and Stella (Malinski) Brzozowski.
Following high school, Ray enlisted and proudly served our country in the United States Marine Corps. He deployed to Vietnam with the Fleet Marine Force, Pacific, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, Marine Aircraft Group-13, Marine Fighter Attack Squadron-323 where he was in Aircraft Maintenance. He served overseas one year and seven months. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal with two bronze stars, the Vietnam Campaign Medal with device and the Good Conduct medal.
Upon his honorable discharge, Ray returned home to Erie, where he began working at General Electric as a welder until his retirement in 2000.
Ray was happiest when he had a fishing rod in his hand, either out on his boat on Lake Erie fishing for walleye and perch or fishing for trout at the creek with his son and grandsons.
He was a member of the SONS of Lake Erie and the Girard American Legion Post #494.
Ray was known by family and friends for his quick-witted sense of humor and his ability to make people laugh. He enjoyed doing projects at home which allowed him to make several trips to Lowe’s and a quick trip to Walnut Creek on his way.
Ray along with his wife Susan, enjoyed country and blue grass music, attending many concerts and festivals.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Annmarie “Annie” Buki.
Ray is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Susan (McDonald) Brzozowski, his children, Patricia Baldwin (Zeke Thaler) of Erie, Raymond Brzozowski Jr. (Anna) and their sons Evan and Ethan of Waterford, and Marne Brzozowski (Tyler Young) of Painesville, OH; his sisters, Sylvia Schmitt (Joseph) and Patricia Mayer; brother in law, Joseph Buki and additional in laws include Guy McDonald (Mary), Cindy Panunzio (Frank), David McDonald (Linda), Dennis McDonald (Amy), Dale McDonald (Amy) and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 2PM to 4 PM and 6 PM to 8PM at Edder Funeral Home Inc., 309 Main St. East, Girard and are invited to attend services there on Thursday at 10 AM, with Rev. Barb English officiating.
Burial with full military honors will be in the Platea Cemetery.

Daniel J. Hudacky - August 26, 1960 - April 09, 2022

Obituary Preview: Daniel J. Hudacky, 61, of Lake City died at his home on Saturday, April 9, 2022.
He was born August 26, 1960, a son to the late Paul and Pauline (Vargulich) Hudacky.
Dan graduated from Girard High School in 1978. While attending high school he began working with Lake City Housing Inc. Following in his fathers footsteps, Dan continued his career with Lake City Housing ever adding to his construction knowledge as a tradesman. He mainly worked as an electrician as well as dedicating time to work in plumbing. Dan stayed with Lake City Housing Inc. for over 40 years.      He spent his most enjoyable hours in Tidioute, PA laughing and telling stories in the shelter of Camp Paradise, his home away from home. Regular trips were made there with an open gate inviting those close to him in for a laugh. Dan's knowledge of construction came in handy many times repairing and rejuvenating the old home. He also could be found rooting for the Minnesota Vikings football team every season. He loved his family and friends with an open heart.
Dan will be greatly missed by his family which include his daughter, Karsyn Hudacky; a brother, Dennis Hudacky (Susan); sisters, Doreen Hudacky and Denise Hudacky; as well as nieces, Michele, Beth and Megan; close friends; Mark Reinelt (Carol), Bruce Billings and Dan Williams (Cindy) and many more.

Shirley Ruth Fischer - March 08, 1949 - April 01, 2022

Obituary Preview: Shirley Ruth Fischer was born on March 8, 1949 and died peacefully at her home on April 1, 2022, surrounded by her family, following a recent illness.
Shirley graduated from St. Benedict Academy and enjoyed a long career in patient accounting at UPMC Hamot.
Shirley enjoyed spending quality time with her family, keeping up with current events, and playing bingo with fellow residents of her apartment complex. Shirley loved animals and they loved her in return.  At every gathering, Shirley was surrounded by a host of family pets who sat patiently near her, knowing that she would be sure to share her meal with them. She was especially fond of and rescued a number of cats throughout her life, providing each with a loving and caring home.  Later in life, Shirley served as a volunteer with Orphan Angels Cat Sanctuary and Adoption Center.
Shirley was preceded in death by her father, Robert Custer and her brother, James Murphy.
She is survived by her mother, Eileen Custer, her siblings, Joseph, Lorne and Mary Custer, her daughters Amy Adamus (Dan) and Carrie Kamholz (Gerald), her grandchildren Matthew, Danielle, Bradley, Alex, Katy, and Eric, as well as her great granddaughter Leona, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Shirley’s final arrangements are being handled privately on behalf of her family by the Edder Funeral Home.  Her family will be hosting a celebration of her life later this year.

Obituary Preview: Gary R. Gabutti, 81, of Girard, died on Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at Manchester Commons.
He was born on January 24, 1941, a son to the late Aurto "Art" and Eleanor (Gorcycki) Gabutti.
Gary graduated from Cathedral Prep High School in 1959 where he excelled as a student athlete. During high school, he worked at his Fathers local tailor and dry cleaning shop. After graduation, he traveled the Erie area as a TV repairman. Gary's career began with 3M Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing as a service technician. He stayed there many years until an early retirement in 1986. Gary then found his dream job as the caretaker of the C.J. Palmer Estate in Erie. Gary took a final leave of absence at 80 years old from the estate.
He never strayed from beginning a new project at home, whether it be an addition or brick laying. Gary was a natural athlete and enjoyed time playing slow pitch soft ball on the Rausch Construction team as well as bowling in his spare time. Gary also took time to be with friends golfing at Over Lake Golf Course. He was one to never stop learning and became fluent in Latin.
In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Gabutti; and beloved dogs, Digger and Rommel.
He will be greatly missed by his family which include his wife, Judy (Clark) Gabutti, his high school sweetheart, whom he married on June 16, 1962; daughters, Brandy Gabutti (Richard Runstedler) and Brooke Gabutti (Sean Currier); sons, Brian Gabutti (Sharon) and Brad Gabutti (Kathy); sisters, Lonnie Seybolt and Gloria Ann Tucker; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Obituary Preview: Kenneth W. Roberts, 83,  died on Sunday, March 20, 2022 at the County Club Retirement Campus.
Ken was born on March 9, 1939 in Harborcreek, a son to the late Dean and Mattibell (Nonomaque) Roberts.
Ken graduated from Rice Avenue Union High School in 1957. Following high school he began work as a car mechanic at Hossman's Pontiac and GMC Truck. He worked for several different companies before founding Roberts Auto Service in 1975. Ken and his wife Donna worked there until selling the business in 1985. Ken then moved to Muskegon, Michigan continuing his work as a mechanic until his retirement.
Ken enjoyed taking fishing trips. He attended the First Presbyterian Church of Girard as well as the First Presbyterian Church of Muskegon, MI. He was a member of the Masonic Temple and Past Master at the Lake Erie Lodge 347. Ken was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Muskegon, MI.
In addition to his parents, Ken was preceded in death by a brother, Eugene Roberts.
He will be greatly missed by his family which include his wife, Donna (Bannister) Roberts whom he married November 6, 1974; two daughters, Darlene K. Davis (Steve) and Amy Harris (Joe); two sons, Timothy Roberts (Pam) and Kevin Roberts (Monica); two brothers, Jack Roberts (Jan) and David Roberts (Georgia); six grandchildren, Jessica Melton, Cody Laut, Chad Roberts, Kaitlyn Roberts, Christina Harris and Joseph Harris; and three great-grandchildren, Olivia and Lucas James and Jacob Dominick.

Bradley A. Dimon - October 15, 1983 - March 18, 2022

Obituary Preview: Bradley A. Dimon, 38, of Cranesville, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, March 18, 2022. He was born in Erie on October 15, 1983. A year ago, he was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer and fought the battle until the end, even completing a couple of things of his bucket list along the way.
Brad graduated from Northwestern High School and Erie County Technical School, class of 2002. He spent his working career at Allegheny Wood Works starting after school until the time of his illness. Brad loved the outdoors whether walking on the beach searching for beach glass and driftwood or digging in the woods looking for old bottles and artifacts. Mostly, he enjoyed sitting around a campfire with family and friends.
Brad is survived by his parents, Kirk A. Dimon (Vanessa Hyrczyk) and Sandra L. (Tripp) Dimon (Mike Miller); his sons, Brydon and Dylan; a brother, Bryan (Tasha) and their children Alex and Tova; step siblings, Paige Miller, Erica Hyrczyk, and Jason (Dawn) Hyrczyk and their families; a very special aunt, Kim Tripp (Art Fiesler), and cousin, Cassie (Adam) Tucker; and several other aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Brad is proceeded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents and his cousin Jake Pacansky.

Donald Frank Kuntz - November 27, 1943 - March 10, 2022

Obituary Preview: Donald Frank Kuntz, Jr. passed away on March 10, 2022 after a very extended illness.  He was born on November 27, 1943, a son of Donald F. Kuntz, Sr. and Ruth (Berklife) Kuntz.
He graduated from McDowell High School in 1963. Following high school he was on his way to Vietnam with the U.S. Army, he married Thora Molter on April 26, 1966, in Erie, PA.
Don was inducted into the U.S. Army in 1965 and deployed to Vietnam with the 820th Ordinance Company, 184th Ordinance Battalion and spent a year overseas. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal, the Good Conduct Medal and was honorably discharged as Sergeant in 1967.
He loved the Lord and his family.  He was an amazing cook, talented craftsman and hard worker.  He never stopped, not for a minute providing for his family, no matter how many jobs or hours he had to work.  He was a small business owner, farmer, welder and made the best dill pickles and sauerkraut.  He grew and canned his own food, owned and operated a pizza shop, raised four sons and only missed church when he was sick.  His faith was quiet, but real.  After many years of pain, he is now pain free and with his Lord.
He was the proud husband to Thora (Molter) Kuntz for almost 56 years and father of Marc (Tracy), Brian (Maureen), Dale and Scott (Stacy).  He was also blessed with grandchildren, Rebekah (Pieplow), Sarah (Gabriel Woodward), Elisabeth (Michael Sylvester), Joshua, Emily, Matthew, Kimberly, Daniel, Nathan, Autumn, Michael, Courtney, Jacob and Jonathan Kuntz.  He was further blessed with great grandchildren, James, Charles, Theodore, Wyatt, Maximus, Alice and Arthur.

Obituary Preview: Nancy L. (Seeley) Harrington, 89, of Girard, died Wednesday March 9, 2022 at Twinbrook Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in North Girard, PA on August 28, 1932 to the late Hugh and Pauline (Powers) Seeley. She graduated from West Springfield High School in 1950. In her younger years, Nancy was a soloist in church and for weddings. She enjoyed listening to many types of music ranging from opera, classical, country and early rock and roll. A woman of strong faith, she read her Bible daily. When asked how she was, she always said, “I am blessed.  I have so much to be thankful for.”
In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her daughter, Jane Andrews; two sisters, Elizabeth Scalise and Rae Stearns; a grandson, Michael McCullough; her former husband, George L. Harrington; sons-in-law Barry Roy and James Moyer; and lifelong friend Erwin Marz.
Her ability to spread love and kindness in the world will be missed by many. She will be especially missed by her family: daughters, Laura McCullough (James), Susan Moyer (Mark Alexa), and Eileen Roy, and son George “Jay” Harrington; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

LeRoy G. Phelps - August 05, 1929 - March 06, 2022

Obituary Preview: LeRoy G. Phelps, 92, of Girard, died on Sunday, March 6, 2022, at St. Vincent Hospital following a brief illness.
He was born August 5, 1929, in Williamsfield, OH, a son of the late John and Cora (Spellman) Phelps.
LeRoy moved to Girard as a young man and enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving with the 145th Infantry Regiment at Camp Polk, LA as a Sergeant from 1949 to 1952.
Upon his honorable discharge he returned to Girard and began work at Bay City Forge in Erie, where he worked for many years. While employed there he also worked for Mann Coal in Girard on the weekends and evenings. At the time Bay City closed, he began working for Ferraro Ford in Girard and also Erie. He drove truck for PHB Die Cast and was a security guard for the Girard Area Industrial Development Corporation to the age of 82.
LeRoy regularly worked two or three jobs. He helped during the harvest at Wiser Farms. He was well known in the area as a part time policeman for Girard Borough under Chief Joe Antolik and was often seen at the Girard Area Schools events for security. At the time of his death, he was working for Suellen's Upholstery in Girard.
He was a member of the Girard Presbyterian Church; a life member of A.F. Dobler Hose Co.; the Girard American Legion Post #494 and in his retirement, years mowed grass for the Girard Cemetery. He enjoyed woodworking, building bird feeders, bird houses and lawn ornaments for friends and family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Clairbell McMillen and brothers, Howard, Ellsworth “John”, Delos, Donovan and Hallie Phelps.
He will be greatly missed by his family, which include his wife, Myrtle M. (Killian) Phelps, whom he met as an usher at the Denman Theater in Girard. The couple were married September 22, 1951; his daughters, Dr. Lisa A. Watson (William) of Conneaut, OH, Lori A. Phelps of Baltimore, MD; step grandson, Bud J. Watson (Rebecca); great grandchildren, Levi and Caroline; his extended family, Shawn Logan, April Bailey (Philip) and Christopher Scott also many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Thursday from 5PM to 8 PM at Edder Funeral Home Inc., 309 Main St. East, Girard and attend services there on Friday at 10 AM with Rev. Nicola Vitiello officiating.
Burial will be in the Girard Cemetery, with full military honors.

Obituary Preview: John G. Klier, 91, passed away on Wednesday March 2, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family after a period of declining health.
John was born June 10, 1930 in Erie, PA a son of the late Joseph M. and Thecla (Nies) Klier. He moved to Fairview with his parents in 1931. After graduating from Fairview High School in 1948, he began farming with his father growing vegetables with a special interest in growing tomatoes. He became a member of the Erie County Farmers Association as well as the Pennsylvania Farmers Association. For the next ten years he went on to become a field reporter for the U.S. Department of Agriculture. In 1959, John was elected Fairview Township Supervisor and continued to be re-elected until his retirement in 1989. After his retirement, he continued to serve on the Fairview Township Planning Commission. John was also asked to serve as chairman of the consolidation committee during the merger of the Fairview Borough and Fairview Township governments.
John and his wife Helen were one of the founding families of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Fairview where he served on the original founding committee, and also served a number of years on church council. He was a member of the Holy Name Society and sang in the Resurrection Choir. John was also a life member of the Knights of Columbus, 5430 Council and a former member of the Erie Maennerchor Club.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Margaret Rand, Mary Therese Teske and Jeanne Marie (in infancy).
John will be deeply missed by his wife, Helen (Hrinda) Klier, whom he married on February 20, 1954 at St John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church in Girard, PA; his daughters, Denise Krainski (Edmund) of Fairview, PA , Suzanne Mills (James) of Cranesville, PA and Jane Patterson (Douglas) of Centerville, OH; four grandchildren, Lauren Krainski (Jeff Kranking) of Seattle, WA, Jackie Morris (Andrew) of Lorton, VA, Dr. John D. Patterson, Ph.D. of State College, PA and Dr. Jenna M. Patterson, M.D. of Columbus, OH; great-grandchildren, Camilla Kranking and Mason Morris; as well as several nieces and nephews.
His family wishes to thank the Lakeland Area Hospice as well as his caregivers, Debbie P., Amy, Tarra, and Debbie S.
Friends may call on Monday March 7, 2022 at Holy Cross Church 7100 W Ridge Rd, Fairview, PA 16415 from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. A Funeral Mass will be held there the following day, Tuesday, at 10:00 A.M. Burial will follow at St. John’s Cemetery.

She graduated from Technical Memorial High School in 1990. Kimberly began work at a young age in the food industry. Following she worked in various positions as a secretary in the Erie area. Most recently, Kimberly owned a Kwik Fill and worked there as an attendant until her early retirement.  Kimberly was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis at a young age. The disease went into remission for some time until ultimately, returning and causing some disabilities.  Throughout her life she enjoyed traveling with her family on vacations. She also had fond memories of her time spent at their hunting camp built by her grandfather in Emporium, PA. Spending time with her grandchildren was always cherished. Kimberly was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church as well as a member of the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Kimberly will be greatly missed by her family which includes, a daughter, Krystal Calkins; a son, Jacob Calkins; and four grandchildren, Zi'Yona Calkins, Anthony Wallace, KaVaya Bibbs, and ZaVaya Bibbs.

Obituary Preview: Helen L. (Pyle) Bonnett, 96, of Girard, passed away on Sunday, February 27, 2022.  Helen was born on March 3, 1925 in McKean, a daughter of the late Grover and Rose Balsiger Pyle.   After attending McKean High School, she worked during the war years at Lord Manufacturing as an inspector of airplane parts for the U.S. Army Air Corp. Following WWII, she worked at Marx Toys in Girard. In later years she was employed as an assembler at Spectrum Control and retired in 1986.   Helen was a member of United Methodist Church in Girard for over sixty years, where she was also a member of United Methodist Women and the Communion Stewards for over 25 years. She was a greeter there for many years and volunteered at Bingo at Pleasant Ridge Manor. She was a past member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Girard. Her and her late husband Ike, enjoyed western square dance with the Crosstrailers, and was an active member of the Order of the Eastern Star Drill Team and Springfield Senior Center. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and baking.   In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William F. "Ike" Bonnett, whom she married, June 17, 1945 in McKean. Ike would often say that the "Lord" brought them together, knowing they met at Lord Mfg! She was also preceded by a son, William H. Bonnett and his wife Theresa; sisters, Berdena Williams, Evelyn Delporto, Lois Pyle, Carol Moorehead and Joyce Hobbs; and brothers, Robert Pyle, James Pyle, and John "Jack" Pyle.   She will be greatly missed by her family, which include her daughters, Kathleen Kunkle (Timothy) of Erie and Tammy Knorr (John) of Girard; a sister, Marilyn Banister of McKean; seven grandchildren, Julie Dinger (Jim), Jody Bonnett (Erica), Jennie Johnson, Amanda Henneberry (Nick), Isaac Knorr, Ashley Betcher (Sam), Allison Till (Matt); eighteen great-grandchildren, a great great granddaughter; three step-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.  Friends may call on Wednesday, March 2, from 10AM to the time of the service at 12 Noon at Edder Funeral Home Inc., 309 Main St. East, Girard and attend services there on with Rev. Jim Dinger, Helen's grandson, officiating.  Burial will be in the Girard Cemetery.  The Bonnett family has asked that all attending services for Helen would wear a mask, due to health concerns.  Memorials may be made to the Girard United Methodist Church, 48 Main St. East, Girard or A.F. (Mohr) Belanger, 100, of Girard, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at the home of her daughter.  She was born in Girard Township on February 17, 1922 to the late John and Jennie (Mosier) Mohr.   In 1940 she graduated from Girard's Rice Avenue Union High School where she played basketball. During World War II she worked for Erie-Resistor where she formed bonds with lifelong friends. She later worked at the A&P grocery store in Girard, her sister's shop, Hathaway's Florist Shop on Penn Avenue during holidays and Dr. Hollingsworth as a housekeeper and assisting them in watching their children. While raising her family, she worked for the Frey Farm, picking vegetables and fruits.   Leta was a member of the Girard Alliance Church and was Head of Girard Township's collections for the Gertrude Barber Center. She was a talented seamstress who throughout her lifetime, created many garments for her children and people in the area. She along with her husband, enjoyed many years camping, playing cards with friends, crossword puzzles, Jeopardy and baking. As a young girl the Mohr family grew up on South Creek Road, where she learned how to swim in Elk Creek and ensured that all of her daughters were proficient swimmers.   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death in 1998 by her beloved husband, Paul L. Belanger, whom she married in January of 1946; a daughter, Connie L. Calvey; sons in law, John M. Calvey and Frank Knapp; sisters, Agnes Blood and Evelyn Hathaway; brothers, Charles Mohr, Richard Mohr, Arthur Mohr and Donald Mohr; and great-grandson, Nicholas Calvey.   She will be deeply missed by her daughters, Linda S. Knapp of West Springfield and Paula D. Belanger (Norman Sevcik) of Wexford, PA; grandchildren, Bill and Jen Fails and their children, Alex, Ben, Kyle and Zack; Mike and Andrea Fails and their children Aubree, McKenzie Ochalek (Tucker) and Mikey; Tim and Jen Fails and their children, Nicholas and Sarah; Hope Hanisek and her children, Devin, Tanner and Gage; Paul Calvey and his children, Brianna, Jacob and Emma; Kimberly and Colin Hoyt and their children, Avery, Oliver and Clover; one great-great grandchild, Louisa and several nieces and nephews.  The family would like to thank Interim Healthcare, both the home health division and the hospice division for the wonderful care they provided for our Mother.    Friends may call on Thursday (today) from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM at Edder Funeral Home Inc., 309 Main St. East, Girard and attend services there on Friday at 11 AM with Rev. He was born February 21, 1964 in Erie, PA., a son, of David M. and the late Patricia M. Shaffer (Godfrey). Douglas graduated from the Girard Alliance Christian Academy in 1981. Continuing his education, he graduated from Central Bible College in Springfield, MO, and received a Master’s of Divinity degree from Brite Divinity School in Fort Worth, TX.
Doug worked as a children’s pastor, restaurant owner and spent the majority of his career serving as Pastor of White Rock Community Church in Dallas, Texas.
He was a pastor, theologian, artist, and musician. Doug was creative and talented. He was able to play many instruments, but his love of music found its place when his hands met the harp.  He had the heart of a servant; he would help anyone and was known for his compassion and his work with those in need.  Doug was active at Grace episcopal church in Lake City, PA.
In addition to his mother, he is preceded in death by a sister, Susan Kay Shaffer.
Douglas will be greatly missed by his family which includes, his husband, Daniel Montelongo-Shaffer; father, David M. Shaffer of Girard; two brothers, David M. Shaffer Jr. (Kathleen) of E. Springfield, PA.; Daniel M. Obituary Preview: Barbara A. (Zender) Mullin, 84, of Edinboro PA, formerly of Wildwood NJ, was called home to our Lord on Monday, February 14, 2022.
Barbara was born in Chicago Illinois, a daughter of the late Edward J. and Grace (Wood) Zender Sr.  She was preceded in death by her brother, Edward John (E.J) Zender, and former husband, Edwin Martin Mullin.
Barbara was a graduate of St Scholastica Academy in Chicago Illinois. In her youth she enjoyed racing boats and spending time with her family on Fox Lake.  In 1954 Barbara carried the honor of courtier in the Marine Day Queen pageant tying for third place with her future sister-in-law Lois Claybauth.
Following school Barbara began employment with Volkswagen in Chicago, which brought her to New Jersey in 1962 where she would raise her family.  She enjoyed operating several businesses on the Wildwood Shore Boardwalk including Star Variety, several games of chance, and running the arcade on Fun Pier. Later in life she did bookkeeping for several boardwalk associates as well as Fams P & S Furniture and Carpet Outlet.
Barbara loved life and enjoyed her family, tennis, the outdoors, traveling, gardening, fast cars, fast boats, the beach, good times and good friends. She was described by those who knew her as a classy lady who was always a devoted mother and friend.
Barbara will be greatly missed by her family which includes her daughter, Kellee M Ertl (Scott), her son, Edward M. Mullin III, two grandsons, Breyden Ertl (Jillian), and Garrett Ertl, sister-in-law Lois Zender, nephews, Mike Zender (Kim), Jimmy Zender, and niece Sue Weiss (Dan).
