Obituary Preview: LaVerna M. Anderson, age 83, of Annandale died with her family at her side on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at Park View Care Center in Buffalo.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Annandale with visitation one hour prior. Pastor Alex Becker will officiate. Burial will follow at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, French Lake. The service will be livestreamed on the Dingmann Funeral Care website.
LaVerna Muriel Anderson was born June 10, 1938 in French Lake Township to John and Laura (Anderson) Opsahl. She attended grade school in French Lake and graduated from Annandale High School with the Class of 1956. On June 29, 1957, she was united in marriage to Donald Anderson. They lived in St. Louis Park before moving to Annandale in 1971. In addition to caring for the home, LaVerna also cleaned for a number of home and business owners in the area. She enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, sewing, going to church, watching Wheel of Fortune, playing pull tabs, and enjoying an ice cold Busch Light. She loved being with her family and friends and many of the things she did was to bring others to fellowship at her table. She cherished her grandchildren above all else in this world.
She is survived by her sons, Steve of French Lake and Tom (Jackie) of Annandale; grandchildren, Nichole Anderson, Brandon Anderson, Morgan Nicka, and Alyssa Anderson; and great-grandchildren, Ava Nicka, Tritt Jones, Cameron Anderson, and Aubrey Anderson. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Laura Opsahl; and husband, Donald Anderson.
The casket bearers will be Jeff Nicka, John, Jim and Joe Kalthoff, Skip Nolan, and Brandon Anderson. LaVerna's granddaughters and great-grandchildren will serve as honorary casket bearers. Obituary Preview: Harlan "Mike" Meyer, age 89, of Maple Lake, died Saturday, April 16, 2022 at Park View Care Center in Buffalo.
Funeral Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 22, 2022 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Annandale. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, April 21 at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel in Annandale and one hour to the service on Friday at the church. A prayer service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral chapel. The funeral will be livestreamed on the funeral home website. Memorials are preferred to St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Annandale.
Harlan Edward Meyer was born January 24, 1933 in Hamburg, Minnesota to August and Lenora (Klanke) Meyer. He grew up in Hamburg. In order to help support the family, he worked the farm at a young age after his father died. At the age of 17, he enlisted with the U.S. Navy, serving in the Korean War. On November 16, 1957, Mike was united in marriage to Arlene Ann Bandemer. They lived in Minneapolis and Bloomington before moving to Cedar Lake near Maple Lake in 1973 and to Albion Township in 1980. He worked as a tool and die maker for Dana Corp. in Plymouth for 22 years. Harlan was a member of the Maple Lake American Legion Post 131 and St. John's Lutheran Church in Annandale. He enjoyed old time music, fishing, gardening, snowmobiling, traveling to Vegas, and socializing with his neighbors and Legion buddies. He had a love for his faith, church and family; especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is survived by his four children, Machelle Borell of Montrose, Mark Sr. (Sue) Meyer of Clearwater, Melissa Varner of Buffalo, and Marsha (Samuel) Rassat of Rogers; seven grandchildren, Kristin, John, Bradley, Mark, Jr., Jason, Zackary, and Taylor; six great-grandchildren, June, Clara, Devin, Hailey, Sophie, and Henry; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, August and Lenora Meyer; wife, Arlene Meyer; grandson, Nathaniel Davids; brothers, August and Venes Meyer; and sisters, Violet Meyer, Deloris Ahline, Arlene Howe, Eunice Johnson, and Jenola Panning.
The casket bearers will be Jason Klinzman, Taylor and Zackary Varner, Mark Meyer, Jr., John, Randy and Kristin Borell, and Samuel Rassat. Obituary Preview: Vance A. Stueness, age 73, of San Tan Valley, Arizona, formerly of Pelican Rapids, Minnesota died Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at his home under the care of hospice.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 25, 2022 at Zion Lutheran Church, Pelican Rapids with Rev. Salim Kaderbhai officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery with military honors provided by the West Central Minnesota Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 235, Alexandria Minnesota and the United States Navy. Visitation will be held from 4:00-6:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 24th, 2022 and one hour prior to the service on Monday, both at the church. Memorials are preferred to Grounded No More Veteran Flight Lift.
Vance Allan Stueness was born August 12, 1948, in Ada, Minnesota, the eldest of 5 children of Bennie and Veronica (Berray) Stueness. Vance grew up on the family farm in rural Twin Valley, where his love of agriculture began. He attended school in Twin Valley, graduating with the Class of 1966. Following his graduation, Vance enlisted in the United States Navy in September of 1966. He served on the east and west coasts, before being sent to Vietnam in 1970 as part of a search and rescue team. In December of 1970, Vance was honorably discharged from the Navy. He returned home to Twin Valley and worked for the Twin Valley-Ulen Telephone Company. During this time, he also attended Moorhead Technical College for agricultural sales and management. While taking classes he was offered a job at the Kragnes Farmers Elevator Co. in Sabin. Vance worked there prior to beginning his extensive career with Chipman, now known as Syngenta. He started in sales and worked his way to upper management, overseeing 15 states. Vance spent the last two years of his career starting the seed treatment division for West Central Inc. in Willmar. Around 2008, he officially retired. On June 29, 1985, Vance was united in marriage to the love of his life, LeAnn (nee Chandler) Barron, at Grace Lutheran Church in Fargo, North Dakota. They made their home on Pelican Lake, near Pelican Rapids for approximately 30 years. The draw of playing golf year-round and not having to deal with Minnesota winters appealed to Vance and Lea; in 2008, they permanently moved to San Tan Valley, Arizona. They return to Minnesota during the summer months to enjoy their fifth wheel at the Forest Hills Golf & RV Center near Detroit Lakes, Minnesota.
As a proud veteran, Vance was a member the Joe Foss American Legion Post #97 in San Tan Valley, West Central Minnesota Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 235 in Alexandria, and former member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #5252 in Pelican Rapids. In addition to his love of golf, Vance also enjoyed boating, traveling, jeeping, and participating in events with his veteran brothers and sisters. Always gracious hosts, Vance and LeAnn often entertained family and friends at their lake home in Pelican Rapids and in later years, they welcomed visitors in Arizona. Vance cherished the time he was able to spend with his family, especially with his 6 grandchildren and 2 great-granddaughters that he so lovingly adored.
Vance is survived by his wife of 37 years, LeAnn of San Tan Valley, AZ; children, James Stueness (Nancy Blaney) of Twin Valley, Stacie Reierson of Devils Lake, Robert (Heather) Barron of Beulah, ND, and Tiffany (Staffan) Strand of Stocksund, Sweden; 6 grandchildren, Dustin (Courtney) Stueness, Preston Reierson, Nathaniel "Toby" (Malloreigh) Barron, Shea Barron, Samuel Strand, and Sophia Strand; 2 great-granddaughters, Alyson and Alexis Stueness; siblings, Gary (Betty) Stueness of Ada, LaCinda (Richard) Scruggs of Anchorage, Alaska, Kent (Denice) Stueness of Twin Valley, and Shellie Bueng (Mike Milligan) of Glyndon; father-in-law, Ralph Chandler of Twin Valley; brothers-in-law, Ralph (Deirdre) Chandler of Caledonia, ND and Dean (Darlene) Chandler of Queen Creek, AZ; sister-in-law, Cheryl (Dean) Dormanen of Gilbert, AZ;  and many nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and friends. Erna Jane Hinz was born October 10, 1931 in South Haven, Minnesota to Henry "Bob" and Emily (Stewart) Hinz. Erna grew up in South Haven and attended school in Annandale, graduating in 1949. She then attended St. Cloud State Teachers College, obtaining her degree in 1951. On February 27, 1953, she was united in marriage to LeRoy "Corky" DeBlois in Waite Park. They made their home in the Fairhaven area, where they raised their six children. Prior to working for the Kimball School in the special education department for 17 years, Erna worked for Aetna in Minneapolis. In 1972, Erna switched careers and worked for Bernatello's in Maple Lake. She was a foster grandma for Annandale Elementary for over 25 years, retiring in 2018. As an educator, children always had a special place in Erna's heart. Erna was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church. She enjoyed embroidery work and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children, Barry of Fairhaven, Laurie (Charlie) Kersten of Fairhaven, Tina Tobin of Annandale, Wendy (Alan) Van Vleet of Annandale, Doug (Stephanie) of Arlington, and Kim (Rodney) Simons of Annandale; 12 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; a great-great grandaughter; and many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. Erna was preceded in death by her husband, Corky; siblings, Cleo Hinz, Eleanor Kautio, and Helen Anderson; son-in-law, Bill "Toby" Tobin; and grandson-in-law, Guy Thompson.

Lynda Carol D’Heilly was born January 14, 1950, in Boston, Massachusetts to Silas Burton and Mary Elizabeth (Woodson) Taylor. In the early 1990’s Lynda moved to Annandale with her husband, Gary, where they have made their home since.  In 2001, Lynda re-opened the day care center, The Learning Tree, that her husband Gary helped her maintain over the years until she was diagnosed with a brain tumor, which left her 75% blind. She attended Vision Loss Resource Center in Minneapolis where she was able to relearn daily functions, and continue life not being able to see. She won a state award for a paper she wrote and became a peer mentor to other people who are also visually impaired. Lynda was a strong beautiful woman, she always found light even on the darkest days. She remained positive and brought joy and humor to everyone who was lucky enough to cross her path.
She is survived by her husband, Gary of Annandale; daughters, Kamryn of Annandale, and Jaime of Boston; sons, Nykolas of Annandale, and Derek (Malia) of Boston; 7 grandchildren, Devin, Tatianna, Inara, Daquan, Adam, Jaden, and Jenayah; 3 great-grandchildren; brothers, Richard Taylor of New Hampshire, and Larry (Bobby) Taylor of Boston; and other family members and friends. Judith Mary Benoit was born October 2, 1951, in St. Cloud, Minnesota the eldest of 13 children, to Walter and Laura (Paul) Benoit. Judy grew up in Sauk Rapids, where she graduated from K.L. Halvorson High School in 1969. She then obtained her associate's degree from St. Cloud State University. On August 16, 1975, Judy was united in marriage to Theodore Weber at St. Theresa of the Pines in Nederland, Colorado. They made their home in Colorado for 17 years, before moving to Darwin, Minnesota in 1988. After a short time, they settled at their current home in French Lake Township. Judy worked as a claim specialist for State Farm Insurance; she proudly retired from State Farm after over 40 years of service. Judy was a member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church, where she was also a confirmation teacher for many years. Judy also gave much of her time as a volunteer at Quiet Oaks Hospice House. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, gathering with family, and spoiling her grandchildren. Judy is survived by her husband of 46 years, Ted of French Lake; sons, Cory of St. Cloud and Casey (Lissa) Weber of French Lake; step-son, Blaine Weber of French Lake; 7 grandchildren, Teddy, Dylan, Beth, Victoria, Evelyn, Hayley, and Ben; siblings, Shirley Springer of St. Cloud, Ken (Peg) Benoit of Sauk Rapids, Pat (Roger) Tellinghuisen of Pease, Larry (Betty) Benoit of Sauk Rapids, Dale (Terry) Benoit of Pease, Cindy (Paul) Wesenberg of Sauk Rapids, Gary (Pam) Benoit of Sauk Rapids, Janet (Mark) Kaschmitter of Sauk Rapids, Gail (Lloyd) Solarz of Sartell, Rocky (JoAnn) Benoit of Sauk Rapids, and Randy (Val) Benoit of Monticello; brother-in-law, John McDonald of Menahga; and many, many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. Allen was born October 21, 1946, in Hazen, ND to Robert and Pandora (Lang) Morford. He grew up in Bismarck, ND, until the family moved to St. Cloud where he graduated with the Class of 1964 from St. Cloud Tech. Allen served in the army on the front lines in the Vietnam War. While on leave, he was united in marriage to Jeanne Gay at St. Victoria Catholic Church in Victoria, MN. After his honorable discharge at the rank of Captain, Allen earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Minnesota. He worked for Dean Witter as an investment broker until 1987, when he started his own investment firm, Investors First. He retired in 2017. Al enjoyed fishing, traveling, and riding shotgun in the RV with Jeanne.

Norah Elizabeth Freiberg was born October 2, 1959, in St. Cloud, Minnesota to Awalt and Theresa (McAlpine) Freiberg. Norah grew up in Annandale with her 13 siblings. She attended Annandale High School, graduating in 1978. Norah owned her own hair salon for a number of years, before deciding to operate a day care out of her home to allow her to spend more time as a mom. She went back to school to obtain her RN degree, and worked for the St. Cloud Hospital, REM Home Health, and Guardian Angels Hospice. On August 24, 1990, Norah was united in marriage to Paul Poepping in Buffalo. Together, they made their home in Annandale. Norah loved to be outdoors camping, gardening, or simply sitting around a fire. She also enjoyed cooking and getting lost in a good book. Above all, Norah cherished her time with her family.

Obituary Preview: Bernice M. Thurber, age 94, of South Haven, died Sunday, February 27, 2022, at the Annandale Care Center. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 4, 2022, at Lake Union Covenant Church with Pastor Tyler Menssen officiating. Burial will follow at Lake Union Covenant Cemetery. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Bernice Mae Maurer was born March 12, 1927, in Parshall, North Dakota to Edward and Alma (Knute) Maurer. At the age of 6, Bernice moved with her family to Craig, Missouri before moving to South Haven at the age of 13. She graduated from Annandale High School in 1945. Bernice then attended St. Cloud Beauty College. In 1948, she was united in marriage to Conrad Hendricks in Minneapolis. Conrad served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Colorado. To this union, one daughter, Connie, was born. Conrad preceded Bernice in death as a result of the Korean War. Bernice and Connie moved back to Minnesota, where she worked at Honeywell. On April 19, 1954, Bernice was united in marriage to Marrell Thurber in Sioux City, Iowa. They built a home on the shores of Lake Union, and were blessed with 6 more children. Bernice owned and operated Bee's Beauty Shop from her home. Bernice was an active member of Lake Union Covenant Church, where she participated in bible studies and ladies aid. She was also a member of the South Haven VFW Auxiliary. In their retirement years, Bernice and Marrell enjoyed driving their motor home to Texas, where they enjoyed the warmth for over 20 years. They also went on many fishing trips, with salmon fishing on Lake Michigan being her favorite. Bernice was a gifted painter, with many of her family members having one of her works of art. She was also known to be an excellent Krumkake baker. Bernice's sense of humor, sarcasm, and her willingness to lovingly give those around her a hard time will fondly be remembered. Bernice is suvived by her children, Connie (Frank) Porcaro of Tahoe, California, Wanda (Jim) Kuseske of St. Cloud, Pam Engen (Dale Larson) of Belgrade, James (Janet) Thurber of Annandale, Bob (Colleen) Thurber of South Haven, and Don (Bonnie) Thurber of Kimball; 16 grandchildren; 21 and counting great-grandchildren; siblings, Lawrence (Darlene) Maurer of Litchfield and Wilma Hilary of Crystal; and her nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; daughter, Karla Sommers; sister, Clara Flanagan; and brother-in-law, Lee Hilary. Bernice's grandsons will serve as casket bearers. Obituary Preview: Mary Jo Guggenberger, age 62, of South Haven, died Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at her home after a 6 year battle with cancer.
The family will host a Celebration of Life will take place from 1-5 p.m. on April 2, 2022 at the Clearwater Legion.
Mary Jo Leonella Guggenberger was born November 15, 1959 in St. Cloud to Claude and Clara (Schroden) Guggenberger. She grew up in St. Cloud and graduated from Apollo High School. She continued her education at St. Cloud State, earning a degree in Art History. She worked as a florist at St. Cloud Floral and as an artist. She co-owned and operated Primitive Origins, where she designed musical animals that were sold at the Minnesota State Fair and sculpted and painted dragons that were sold at Renaissance Festivals around the country. She was known as the "frog lady" at the Minnesota State Fair. On October 17, 2021, she was united in marriage to her long-time partner in life, John Sinclair. Mary Jo enjoyed creating art, gardening, canning, cooking, and being in the great outdoors. She was especially known for her canned pickles. She had a special talent to bring her family together with her home cooked meals. Above all, Mary Jo cherished the time she was able to spend with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, John Sinclair; sons, Nathan (Holly) Petron of South Haven and Spencer Petron (Natasha Michael) of Annandale; grandchildren, Novalee, Alex, Noah, Carter and Avery; sisters and brothers, Bob Guggenberger, Angie Nelson (Ward), Pat Guggenberger (Doug), Carl (Terri) Guggenberger, Tom (Linda) Guggenberger, and Dan Guggenberger (Robby); and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives. They lived a short time in Crete, prior to moving to Lincoln, NE, where they started their family. Following Jerry's work career, they then lived in St. Joseph, MN, St. Cloud, MN, and Aberdeen, SD. In 1971, they moved to Annandale, MN, where they purchased Jack and Jill Grocery Store; changing it's name to Peery's Jack and Jill. They retired in 1995. Jean was a member of Christian Women and The Sewing Club in Annandale. She also volunteered her time at the Annandale Care Center. Jean enjoyed traveling, watching movies, playing games, and spending time with her family. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. Gary LaVerne Carlson was born February 8, 1958 in Rockford, IL to Roger and Lavona (Thomas) Carlson. Gary grew up in Spring Lake Park, where he graduated in 1976. He then furthered his education in mechanics and electrical engineering. Gary lived in Circle Pines before moving to Annandale. He was married to LeaLonnie (Kastner) Schultz on April 29, 2000. In 2008, they moved to their current home in rural South Haven. Gary worked as a manager at Tech Etch in Litchfield for 14 years, before having to retire in 2015 due to a double lung transplant. Gary enjoyed all things cars. Muscle cars, fast cars, if it was a car, Gary enjoyed it. He also liked to be outdoors camping and having fun in the mud. Above all, he loved being a Grandpa to his eight grandchildren.
Gary is survived by his wife, Lonnie of South Haven; children, Jason (April) Carlson of Zimmerman, Ryan Carlson of Champlin, Kristin (Tony) Oelmann of Stacy, Erik (Jen) Schultz of Clearwater, and Nikki (Kyle) Yelton of Meridian, ID; 8 adoring grandchildren, Lyssa, Taila, Hailie, Blake, JoJo, Eli, Ashtyn, and Austin; parents, Roger and Lavona Carlson of Fridley; siblings, Lynn (Terry) Closson of Fridley, Darryl (Lori) Carlson of Shoreview, Bryce (Pam) Carlson of Ramsey, and Melody (Tracy) McConkey of Cokato; and nieces, nephews, other family members and dear friends.

He was also an avid collector of antiques, and a passionate and dedicated dog owner. Viola Marie Kutcher was born October 9, 1930, in Killdeer, Minnesota to Frank and Luella (McElree) Kutcher. Vi moved with her family to Waucoma, Iowa, and later to Rochester, Minnesota. She graduated from Rochester High School in 1948 and then attended junior college in Rochester. On July 15, 1950, Vi was united in marriage to David Winters. They continued to make their home in Rochester while Vi worked as a secretary for the Director of Elementary Education. They then moved to Golden Valley, where they were blessed with four daughters. They relocated for a short time to Columbus, Ohio, prior to moving to the home they designed and built on Clearwater Lake, near Annandale, in 1972. David preceded Vi in death in 1985.
For 22 years, Vi worked as a secretary for the Annandale High School, retiring in 1992. During this time, she also worked as the clerk for Corinna Township for 24 years, retiring from those duties in 2009. She volunteered as the secretary of the Clearwater Lake Property Owner's Association for 20 years. On May 18, 1991, Vi married Leland Novotne in Annandale. They continued to make their home on Clearwater Lake. Leland preceded Vi in death in 2015.
Vi moved to Anthem, Arizona in 2018 in order to be closer to some of her family. Vi enjoyed gardening, tending to her flowers, stamp collecting, and fishing, especially at Reed Lake in Manitoba, Canada. After retiring, Vi was able to travel across the United States, including to the Black Hills, Alaska, Mexico, and Hawaii. Vi's greatest enjoyment in life was spending time in the presence of her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Vi is survived by her daughters, Lynn Turley of Mayer, AZ, Julie (Lee) Aungst-Collins of Phoenix, AZ, Gail (Larry) Aungst of Phoenix, AZ, and Kristin Winters of Forest Lake, MN; stepchildren, Scott (Gina) Novotne of Lakewood Ranch, FL, and Jill (Stephen) Burt of Winona, MN; 8 grandchildren, Jocelyn Grobmeier, Megan Clifford-Knox, Melissa Aungst, Amy Lester, Amber, Ariel, and Ali Aungst, and Tyler Winters; 15 step-grandchildren, John Turley, Paula Hutsell, Cassandra Collins, Alyssa Sellen, Kinsey and Christopher Novotne, Zachary, Jacob, and David Postma, Shannon, Alicia, and Anthony Novotne, Josie Deiss, Ben Burt, and Jamie Johnson; many great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and other family members and friends. Vi was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; stepson, Ted Novotne; and sister, Dorothy Fletcher.

Beverly Carol Noble was born on Christmas Day of 1927, the only child of David and Doris (Child) Davids in Willmar, MN. She grew up in Minneapolis and graduated from South High School. Bev was united to John Noble on June 18, 1948 in Minneapolis. They raised their family in Minneapolis, Clinton, IA, and Kalamazoo, MI. They retired to Annandale in 1986. Bev was an active member of Annandale United Methodist Church in Annandale. She cherished her time with her lifelong friends, the JoDelkas. She enjoyed bowling, reading, playing cards, working on puzzles, and spending time with friends and family.
She is survived by her children, Robin Kieffer of Apple Valley, MN, Lee (James) Olsen of Circle Pines, MN, Allison Blackmer of Hilbert, WI, and Bradley Noble of Kalamazoo, MI; 13 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Doris Davids; husband, John Noble; son-in-law, Dave Blackmer; and cousin, Sandra Hamilton.

Obituary Preview: Norman B. O'Konek, age 68, of South Haven, Minnesota passed away peacefully at the St. Cloud Hospital on Friday, January 14, 2022, after a 9-month battle with cancer. At Norm's request, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Private burial will take place at Mount Hope Cemetery in Clearwater, Minnesota. Norm was born February 1, 1953, to Carl and Audrey (Miller) O'Konek. He was united in marriage to Sharon J. Manthey on July 21, 1973 at Zion Lutheran Church in Annandale. Norm attended high school in Annandale and graduated from Hennepin Technical College with a diploma in Engineering CAD Technology. He worked at Nilfisk-Advance in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota as an engineer for 39 years, and also worked at C4 Welding as a design engineer in Sauk Rapids for 3 years. Norm enjoyed fishing, camping, riding his motorcycle, gardening, working on projects in his shed, and working on his 3-D printer in his spare time. Norm is survived by his wife Sharon; children, Darcie O'Konek, Jason (Tammy) O'Konek, and Jenny (Matthew) Luberda; 5 grandchildren, Alexa, Kolston, Cody, Abigail and Andrew; sister, Carmel (Jerry) Romine; brothers, Dusty (Connie) O'Konek, and Kevin (Patty) O'Konek; and other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, LeRoy O'Konek; and granddaughter, Kaleigh O'Konek. Norm's body lost the battle with cancer, but his spirit and memory live on in each person who was lucky enough to have known him.

Kenneth Webster Larsen was born December 19, 1938 in Minneapolis, MN and was adopted from a children's orphanage at the age of 7 months by Russell and Ruth (Skaug) Larsen. He grew up in the Minneapolis area and graduated with the class of 1956 from South High School. He began his hands-on education at the young age of 14 when he acquired his own gas station, working as a mechanic. Ken served his country in the US Air Force. On November 13, 1974 he was united in marriage to his wife, Donna, and they made their home on Lake Sylvia in South Haven, MN. Ken was owner & broker of his own real estate company, Village Properties, Inc in Annandale, MN for almost 50 years.
Ken enjoyed traveling, exploring the terrains wherever he went, snowmobiling in the winters, trail leading for a snowmobile club, motorcycling, boating, and maintaining his resort. Most of all, Ken enjoyed fixing anything & everything; he was known for this by family and friends, and was often called upon by neighbors in the community during his winters in Texas. Ken always took the time and patience to explain in detail how to fix or learn something, in many areas from mechanics to waterskiing! Ken's favorite charities helped support orphaned, abandoned or hurting children; one such charity was Cal Farley's Boys Ranch.
