Domenico Astemborski - September 13, 1947 - April 13, 2021

Departed: 04/13/2021 (Burlington)
Obituary Preview: Domenico F. Astemborski was welcomed into God’s loving arms on April 13, 2021. He was 73 years old. He was “born in Beverly, lived in Beverly”, and wanted to die in Beverly. A true “Beverly Boy” through and through. He lived 30 seconds from work, but it took him an hour to get home after “making the rounds” on what can only be described as the most scenic tour around town.
He was born on September 13, 1947 in his family’s home on Laurel Street. At 20 years old, he was drafted to serve in the Army, and was stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War. He knew exactly how much time he spent in the service, down to the minute. It was in Germany that Domenic fell in love... with clocks.
Domenic met the love of his life, Ruth, at McDonald’s 51 years ago and broke the ice by asking her if she wanted to buy him a cheeseburger. Lame pickup line, but for some reason she married him anyway. He was notorious for his funny one-liners. They had two beautiful daughters, Krissy and Nikki, and Domenic was not shy about telling them stories of how they were conceived just to gross them out. When his girls got married, he told his future son-in-laws “I’m not taking them back”. He waited until after they were married to say, “the nut don’t fall too far from the tree”.
He owned Domenic’s Auto Body & Towing in Beverly for 38 years, where he worked with his wife Ruth and daughter Nikki (this is where he would have interjected “her name is Dominique”). He showed up for work every day, no matter how many times he was asked to go home. He had many hardworking loyal employees, past and present, who were family to him. He never wanted to retire. He was the most talented and hardest working man to ever exist. He dreamed of opening an auction house, and just recently started working on Dunks Ferry Auctions, also in Beverly. His motto: “there’s an @$$ for every seat”. His dream will not die with him. We promise to make you proud, Dad.
Domenic was unlike anyone you would ever meet. He called himself “Domenic Frank Ronald Astemborski the 3rd” even though he was not the 3rd at all. He just thought it was funny. He sang songs in Polish that years later were translated to be just a bunch of random words he learned from his father. He told it like it was. If he gave you a compliment, he meant it. If he called you an @$$hole, you were one. He knew how to get everywhere and insisted on giving you detailed step-by-step directions, including where and how to park, even if you had been driving there for 30 years. He was a stubborn Polack. It was his way or no way- and don’t you ever forget it.
Domenic loved taking the boat out and “intentionally” getting stuck on a sand bar. He loved clams, Pic-a-lilli wings and his drink of choice was the “Harvey Wallbanger”. No one’s ever heard of it, don’t google it, you won’t like it.
He was an avid clock collector. Actually, he collected everything and anything. If you didn’t want it, he’d take it. “One man’s trash is another man’s treasure” he would always say, just like his father.
He loved towing. He loved the challenge of pulling up to the scene of an accident and figuring out how to get it on the truck. He made many lasting friendships in all his years towing for various townships.
He loved being around his grandkids and acting silly with them. He loved when they came to “Pop Pop’s Shop” for a visit. As babies, he tried conditioning them, so their first words were “Papa Dom”. He was unsuccessful.
He looked forward to going to Hershey’s Antique Car show every fall with his kids and his grandkids. He loved driving his family on vacations to Disney. He did not like to fly. He drove to Tennessee to take his daughter to Graceland and played Neil Diamond’s Greatest Hits on loop for 17 hours straight. Obviously, he really liked Neil Diamond, seeing him multiple times in concert.
He is preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Catharine Astemborski and many dear friends. Survived by his amazing wife of 48 Years, Ruth, children Kristina “Krissy” Scutt (Rick), Dominique “Nikki” Donaghy (Brian), grandchildren Tristan, Cole, Ellie, and Sawyer, his siblings Joe, Carole, Eva, Cathy, and Mel, as well as many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. He always wanted his obituary to say: “funeral at 10, auction at 2”. So, the funeral will be at 10, and the auction will be at a later date, but definitely at 2. He wanted to be buried with all his clocks, but Dad, you miscalculated, and we have confirmed with the cemetery-you did not purchase a big enough plot!
Domenic will be remembered for his kindness, compassion, foul mouth, sense of humor, and the ability to clear a room with just one crop dusting. “Did you ever read about a frog who dreamed of being a king, and then became one?” Well, that was Dom. Setting the bar so incredibly high in life. So, blast your Neil Diamond and raise your Harvey Wallbanger (you don’t have to drink it) to a truly irreplaceable, amazingly talented man with a legacy that will never ever die. Dad- You are the man!

Paul Campbell - August 06, 1986 - November 24, 2020

Departed: 11/24/2020 (Burlington)
Obituary Preview: Paul Campbell Jr. was born the beloved son to Patricia and Paul Campbell Sr. on August 6, 1986 in Jersey City, NJ. Raised primarily by his Grandparents and Aunt Debbie (Godmother) whom he loved dearly, Paul was a timid child and found a love for comics and expressing himself in written word early on. At school Paul was found to be confident and more than competent as a leader. Those qualities helped Paul grow up making friends that would last his lifetime.
Paul studied Geographic Information Science while attending Burlington County Institute of Technology, Medford. Paul went on to attend Rowan University and he graduated with honors in 2012 with a bachelor's degree in Geographic Information Science. After that he found himself working for T-Mobile as a Sales Associate/Manager throughout the Philadelphia Metro-region. Over the course of 11 years, Paul made more friends and touched more hearts.
Whether with friends or with poetry and prose, Paul had a way with words and was a natural born storyteller. He had a passion for writing and authored 3 books: I’m Not That Good With Words (2007), Peaks of Power: Beginnings (2019) and Peaks of Power: God Hand (2019). These books garnered him even more love and more friends.
As much as Paul loved his friends and his writing, there was nothing that Paul cherished more than his 6 year-old daughter, Aubrianna Theresa. Being an amazing father to her was his driving force and singular goal. ‘Bub’ was, and still is, his light. Everything except God fell short in comparison to the love he carried for her. Everyone that knew him, knew how proud he was to be her Hero and role model. Everything he did was to make sure she would know a better future.
On Tuesday November 24, 2020, Paul Campbell Jr. passed away at the age of 34. In life Paul was committed to becoming a better parent, a better man, and a better writer. In all things, Paul tried to be better in every way he could. He touched our lives with laughter and love. For that he has our gratitude.
The world is poorer now that he is gone, but our lives are richer for knowing him. Paul, we will continue to love you until we meet again.
Paul was preceded in death by his grandparents Theresa and Cemmie Hartley Sr., and parents Patricia and Paul Campbell Sr. He is survived by his daughter Aubrianna Campbell, Uncle Cemmie Hartley Jr., aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
