Edward E. “Boop” Slagle, age 75, of Longville, MN passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at Carefree Living Center in Brainerd, MN.
Ed was born on January 16, 1944 in Walker, MN to Ed and Ethel (Ford) Slagle.  He grew up and attended school in Longville.  He worked with his father at the family sawmill in Longville for many years.  He then worked for various cement contractors throughout Minnesota before retiring back to the Longville area.
Ed was skilled with his hands and enjoyed making bird houses and diamond willow canes for family and friends.  He was very social and looked forward to spending time with his nieces and nephews and visiting with everyone he met.  He always had an eye for fast cars and loved driving his Cadillac.
He is survived by his siblings:  Shirley (Al) Gerkin, Jean (Ron) Fishel, Gary (Marty) Slagle, Frank (Diane) Slagle and Joyce (Howard) Miller; Shirley Slagle, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Charles, Harlan, Doris and Jan.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, April 26, 2019 at the Longville Bible Chapel in Longville with Pastor David Adams officiating.  Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.  A luncheon will be held at the church following the service.  Arrangements provided by Dennis Funeral Home / Midwest Cremation Association of Walker (www.dennisfuneralhome.com).
