Obituary Preview: Glenda Marie Kellerman Kelley of Milesburg passed away Saturday, September 23, 2023 at Mount Nittany Medical Center after a brief illness. She was born October 17, 1954, the daughter of James Thomas Kellerman and Betty Jean Shaffer Kellerman. On May 29, 1989 she married Frank E. Kelley, who survives at the home they both loved in Milesburg along with beloved nieces Amy Lucas Miller, Barbara Lucas, Ginger Hedrick and nephew Jeff Lucas. She also dearly loved her nieces by marriage Michelle Kelley Kennedy, Renee Kelley Kennedy and nephew Michael Kelley. She will be heartbreakingly missed by her rowdy little dachshund Carmen and somewhat missed-usually in absentia but most notably at mealtimes-by a cat named Rodie.
She was employed by Royer Amusement & Vending, Keystone Scientific Systems, the American Philatelic Society and Penn State Law at Penn State University. Glenda was a member of the Milesburg Presbyterian Church where she was also an ordained church elder and treasurer.
A Celebration of her life will be held Sunday, October 1, 2023 at the Milesburg Presbyterian Church at 2:00 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Milesburg Presbyterian Church Deacons Fund in Glenda’s name, P. O. Box 837, Milesburg, PA 16853.

Hamer, his brother Corrie (Pattie Jo) Horner of Clarence and his nephew Tyler Horner.
Kevin was a Christian. He enjoyed drawing, sketching, auto repairing, fishing, riding 4 wheelers, motorcycling, Sasquatch stories, and his dogs Reggie and Mazie. Kevin is now reunited with his dog, Roxie and his dad, “Butch”.

On April 25, 1965 he married the former Alice Gates who preceded him in death on July 11, 2007. Larry is survived by his sons, Lawerence E. (Lisa) Witherite, Jr of Dry Run, Terry L. (Sherri) Witherite of Fayetteville, Tony A. (Elizabeth Ruggiero) Witherite of Morrisdale, Ricky J. (Robin) Witherite of Jacksonville, FL and Randy (Lisa) Witherite of Indianapolis, IN. Also surviving is his sister, Edna (Samuel) Ritter; and his 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife Alice, he was preceded in death by his son Andrew Witherite and his siblings, Walter Lynn Witherite, Marie Witmer, Malcolm “Mick” Witherite, Carl Witherite, Wayne Witherite and Samuel Witherite.
Larry was a self-employed truck driver for L & A Trucking. He was of the Methodist Faith. He was a member of NRA, and the Milesburg American Legion Post 893.
Family and friends will be received on Friday, September 22, 2023 from 6 PM – 8 PM at The Dean K. Wetzler Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Inc. 201 Spring St., Milesburg. Schreffler, Jr. of Lock Haven, Vincent E. (Janna) Schreffler of Loganton, Robert M. (Mary Jane) Schreffler, Sr. of Howard, Janell (Tim) Howe of Bellefonte; his siblings, Carl E. (Esther) Schreffler, Jr. of Bellefonte, Robert (Connie) Schreffler of State College, Ron (Laurel) Schreffler, Timothy (Lynda) Schreffler, Gail “Kathy” (Mike) Laird all of Bellefonte and his brother James’s significant other, Cindy Bartley of New Mexico. Ken is also survived by his 6 grandchildren, Robert M (Abby) Schreffler, Jr., Allan B. (Nikki) Schreffler, Nicholas W. Howe, Elizabeth C. Schreffler, Nathan V. Schreffler, Andrew Howe, his great granddaughter, Avery M. Schreffler and numerous nieces and nephews. Along with his parents and wife he was preceded in death by his brothers, Jackie Schreffler, James Schreffler; his sister, Donna Witter and his grandson, Luke William Howe.
Ken was a graduate of Bellefonte High School and worked at Cerro Metal Products until his retirement. He was a member of the Young Democratic Club, the Clarence Moose, the Bellefonte Elks Lodge #1094. and 3 Point Sportman Club. Ken enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time at camp. He enjoyed a good card game, planting his flowers and doing home projects.

Anthony was of the Catholic Faith. He was employed as an Auto Mechanic. He enjoyed animals, drawing, and always making people laugh. He also enjoyed fixing cars, a true handyman, and loved his family.

Emilie was born on July 1, 1939 in Ashland, PA, the daughter of the late Earl and Rhoda (Kephart) Smith. On June 8, 2002, she married William Comly, Sr. who survives. Emilie is also survived by her son, Kenneth (Jeanne) Maney of State College and her daughter, Sydney (James) Bell of DuBois. Also surviving are her 5 grandchildren J. T. Bell, Brennan Bell, Anyssa Caldwell, Elle Maney and Alex Maney, 8 great-grandchildren; 2 step-children William (Velvet) Comly, Jr. and Brenda Frazer and their families.
Emilie was a Christian by faith and attended the State College Assembly of God. Prior to that she attended the Curwensville Alliance Church.
Emilie had been employed at Kent Sportswear and Clearfield Cheese in Curwensville. Later she owned and managed Auntie Em’s Restaurant in Clearfield.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her 2 brothers Ray Smith and Earl Smith and her 2 sisters, Ethel Ream and Jean Srock. James E. Brumbaugh, Jr. - May 13, 1941 - August 27, 2023

Obituary Preview: James E. Brumbaugh, Jr., 82, of Bellefonte passed away on August 27, 2023 at The Oaks Pleasant Gap. Jim was the son of the late J. Edgar and V. Irene (Kough) Brumbaugh of Smithfield and was a graduate of Huntingdon High School, Class of 1959.
One of Jim’s fondest childhood memories was as one of the organizers of the rubber ball baseball league that played on the Triangle. “J.B.” / “Robin” was also active in the Smithfield Community Band and scouting, coached Little League, and was a member of the Smithfield Fire Company and the Jaycees. He was an active member of the United Methodist Church nearly all his life, first in Huntingdon and then in Pleasant Gap. He later served as one of organizers of the Marion-Walker Junior Baseball League and was a coach, manager, and league president throughout the years. He enjoyed walking, taking photographs at family events and history.
Jim started his career with C.H. Miller Hardware Co., Huntingdon on September 23, 1960, first stocking shelves, then as an assembler. He moved to Industrial Sales and then assumed the role that lasted many years: traveling salesman. He relocated to Mingoville in 1971 to serve his new sales territory and won the next-door-neighbor lottery when he met Sally and the late Richard “Dick” Toner, who became dear friends. In Jim’s 50+ years in hardware, he won numerous awards for sales achievement. He also served in the Army National Guard and attained the rank of SFC-E7. Jim was “the lovable Mess Sergeant” for five years.
Jim married Sharon L. (Black) Brumbaugh in 1968 and they had two children, Kathi of Lebanon, and James (Adrianna) of Mechanicsburg. They gave him grandchildren Wyatt Caber, Preston Gould and Madison Gould.
Jim remarried Audrey (Moore) Brumbaugh of Burnham in 2000, who preceded him in death on January 17, 2021. Audrey brought three children and five grandchildren into the marriage, and he loved being “Pap Jim” to Stacy Haines, Stanford Haines, Heather Hassinger, Shane Marks and Cody Moore.
Jim is also survived by siblings Vera (Reed) Cox of Trilby, FL, Ruth Rohrer of Smithfield and Donald Brumbaugh of Bellefonte, and a cousin who was like a sister, Doris (Andy) Donnelly of Huntingdon. He adored his nieces and nephew, including Misty Hicks of State College who was a faithful caretaker during Jim’s final years of life.
Visitation will be held from 10-11 AM on Saturday, September 2 at the Pleasant Gap United Methodist Church. The funeral service will follow at 11 AM with Pastor Carrie Granche officiating. A  luncheon will follow the service.  Private internment at Zion Cemetery will be held at the convenience of the family.

Gerald was born on July 19, 1953 in Bellefonte the son of the late Allison ”Mike” and Clara Irwin Watson. On September 24, 1983, he married Brenda L. (Craig) Watson who survives at home. Also surviving is his son Michael (Ashley) Watson of Julian, his 2 grandchildren, Kayla and Megan; he is also survived by his 2 sisters, Shirley Witmer of Unionville and Nancy Emel of Milesburg, as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Jay Witmer, Robert Witmer, Susan Jodon and Ed Witmer.
Before his retirement, “Buck” was employed at Cerro Metal Products in the Small Rod Department. “Buck” was of the Protestant faith, and was a hobby farmer, a John Deere enthusiast and an avid coffee drinker.

Beverly Ann Jodon - January 31, 1938 - August 12, 2023

Obituary Preview: Beverly Ann (Stewart) Jodon, 85, of Milesburg passed into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on August 12, 2023.
She was the beloved wife of John William Jodon, who preceded her in death in 2018, after more than fifty happy years of marriage. Beverly was born on January 31, 1938 to Frederick and Martha (Hunter) Stewart. After her graduation from Bellefonte Area High School, she worked as a legal secretary. Upon her marriage to John Jodon, she moved to Milesburg, where she eventually raised their sons and delighted in caring for her family and home.
Most recently a member of Eagle Valley Church of the Nazarene, Beverly was a devout Christian. She found great hope in her faith in Jesus Christ as her Savior, and it was her deepest desire for each one in her family to put their faith in Jesus Christ. She believed deeply that it was never too late to change course and follow God.
Beverly was a devoted wife, a loving mother and mother-in-law, and an adored grandmother. She is survived by three sons: Samuel Jodon of Lemoyne, Matthew Jodon of Huntington, and Jonathan (Amanda) Jodon of Dillsburg; eleven grandchildren: Nicholas (Grace), Tyler, Madison, Caleb, Richard, Leah, Ana, Avalyn, William, Isaac, and Adalyn, brother-in-law, Donald (Betty) Jodon of Snow Shoe, sister-in-law, Doris (Raymond) Jodon and several beloved nieces and nephews and their families. She counted among her closest friends her beloved sister-in-law, Donna Stewart, and her dear lifelong friend and cousin, Peggy Schultz, both of Bellefonte.
In addition to her parents and beloved husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Stewart, and her sister, Sandra (Stewart) Richards.
Family and friends will be received on Friday, August 18, 2023 from 12 Noon until 1:30 PM at the Dean K. Wetzler Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Inc., 201 Spring Street. The funeral service will follow at 1:30 PM with Pastor Andrew Morgan officiating. Burial will be in Centre County Memorial Park, College Twp. alongside her husband.

Obituary Preview: Donna J. Gardner age 66 passed away on August 6, 2023. Donna was born on December 18, 1956 to Kenneth E and Maragret (Peg) Teaman, in Bellefonte, PA. Donna was born and raised in Pennsylvania and spent the past 11 years enjoying Palmetto, Florida.
Donna was the younger sister to Kenneth L. Teaman and Sharon E. Teaman, older sister to Lori T. Cummings. She was aunt to Stephanie Young, Kenneth P. Teaman, Chloe Alpert, Jack Cummings and Maggie Cummings. Donna was preceded in death by Kenneth P. Teaman.
Donna carried warmth and effervescence with her always.
She was a new friend to anyone who crossed her path.
She was a generous, open-hearted, and fiercely loving mom.
She was dedicated to, and beloved by her family.
As a sister, she was unconditional love and a champion of your dreams.
She was, and will always be, deeply adored by her granddaughters.
She never missed the chance to capture an important moment - big or small. Her photographs document a life of joy and laughter.
A thoughtful and loyal friend, Donna never forgot to send a birthday card, a thank you note, or check in.
She was a good cook, had a flare for decorating, and loved animals- especially her cats.
She sometimes showed a delightfully mischievous streak, especially after one margarita.
Her beautiful flower beds are a testament to her enjoyment of nature.
Her boundless empathy was a safe place to land. She was always ready to offer a big welcoming hug.
She was devoted to her work- not as a job, but an opportunity to connect with friends.
She had a curious and optimistic outlook on life that made her good company and lively conversation.
She did everything with her whole heart. Her energy bubbled over.
She was a rare instance of someone brave enough to say “I love you” as much as she felt it.
A life so beautifully lived.
Left to cherish her memories and carry her legacy are daughters Amy Gardner, Ashley Sorice, son-in-law Andrew Sorice, and two granddaughters Summer and Palmer Sorice.
Memorial service will be August 26th at the Dean K. Wetzler Funeral Home, 201 Spring Street, Milesburg, PA. Visitation will be at 10AM with a formal service at 11AM immediately followed by Graveside service. Reception will be held at 12:30pm, at the Ramada Hotel and Conference Center, 1450 South Atherton Street, State College PA.

Tammy is also survived by her 2 sisters, Peggy Rockey of Bellefonte and Cindy Tobery of Philipsburg. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter Ella Burns, and her siblings Bonnie Merritt, Amy Crust, Jeff Merritt and Thomas Merritt, Jr. Tammy was of the Protestant Faith and was a homemaker. She enjoyed playing Bingo. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening, planting flowers and family always came first.

Chronister (Shawn Eminhizer) of Bellefonte, Charles B. “Chuck” Chronister and Daisy Chronister of Lock Haven and Brian L. and Tiff Chronister of Bellefonte; and his step children, Randy Emmil of Pittsburgh, Timothy and Brandy Shaffer of Pleasant Gap, and Melissa Hamilton of Bellefonte. Chuck is also survived by his siblings, Connie and Howard Grubb of Bellefonte, John and Donna Chronister of Yarnell, Debbie Mitchell of Philipsburg, Larry and Tammy Chronister of Bellefonte, and Barry Chronister of Milesburg; and his grandchildren, Kayden, Jack, Talena, Mason, Kya, Greyson, Patricia, Destiny, Lex, Dusty, Kristopher and Hunter, and one great grandson Alex. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter, Jennifer J. Chronister and his sister-in-law Sheila Chronister.
Chuck was a 1975 graduate of Bellefonte High School and Centre County Vo Tech. He was a Grade A AutoBody Technician for Stockers and State College Ford before retiring from Joel Confer of Bellefonte in 2021. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, watching the wildlife in his yard, riding his four wheeler, being outside in general, and especially spending time with his family. He will be remembered for his corny jokes, his one of a kind laugh and his warm hugs

Melody is survived by her children, Travis (Kaytie) Geyer of Jersey Shore, Silver (George McMillan) Geyer of Milesburg, and Michelle (David Delibero) Kephart of Julian. Also surviving are her 10 grandchildren Aubrey, Emily, Levi, Cooper, Carter, Lincoln, Scarlett, Alexionna, Isaac and Truly. She is also survived by her sister, Lorianne (Mike) Huey of New Philadelphia, OH, and her brother, Alan (Angie) Galentine of Dickson City, PA.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Talis Geyer, her grandson Dillon Kephart, and her siblings, Edwina Galentine and Elwood H. Galentine.

Estella was born to the late Joseph Roy Bryan leathers and Myda Belle (McCartney) Leathers on March 4, 1930, in Marsh Creek, PA. She spent her early childhood on a small farm in Runville, PA. She loved helping her dad with the outside chores and helping tend the animals. She loved to tell us about going out in the pasture to bring in the cows.
Estella attended Bellefonte High School where she met her sweetheart, Joseph Hicks. She graduated with her class the spring of 1947. Later that same year Estella and Joseph were married on August 6, 1947 in Hagerstown, MD. They shared a very loving and devoted life filled with many adventures. They were always together working around the home, gardening, camping, fishing, traveling or working on one of Joe’s many inventions.
Estella loved her life on what is loving known as Hicks Hill. She enjoyed watching the wildlife and even named some of the animals.
Estella loved going to yard sales where she would find a treasure. She enjoyed playing games and her favorite was scrabble. She excelled at that game.
Estella loved the Lord with all her heart. She loved going to church and being involved with the activities there. Unfortunately, during the Covid Pandemic the churches were closed and everyone was to stay home. Estella could not understand this and it really upset her that they could not see their friends. Estella was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph D. Hicks and her siblings; Hilda Dreese, Doris Rhodes, Marjorie Minemyer, Donald Leathers, Stan Leathers, and infant sister Elizabeth Leathers. Estella is survived her her children; Susan (Paul) Thomas, North East, MD, Joseph (Maxine) Hicks, Bridgeport, OH, Pamela Hommel, Fawn Grove, PA and Yvonne (Doug) Harmon, Greenfield, IN. She is also survived by a sister, Marilyn Ream, Beech Creek, PA. Estella has 13 grandchildren;

(Lisa) Waite, Wendy (Travis)  Quici all of Bellefonte and her sister, Jane Shearer Carter of The Colony, Texas. Also surviving are her 5 grandchildren.
Marge was a 1970 graduate of Lock Haven High School and a 1971 graduate of State Beauty School in Williamsport. She worked for DiAnn’s Beauty Salon in Lock Haven. In 1982 she started Marge Waite’s Beauty Salon in Bellefonte. Marge was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Bellefonte. She was a dog lover and also had a love for flowers.

William served his country in the U. S. Army. He was a custodian for the State College Area School District before his retirement. He was a member of Halfmoon Christian Fellowship Church. He enjoyed hunting and gardening.
A graveside service will be held in Black Oak Cemetery, Worth Twp. on June 12, 2023 at 11 AM with Pastor Clayton Kessling officiating.

He traveled worldwide helping the oppressed and people most in need.
Spending time with his family was his favorite. Visits to his parents and time spent with his daughters were the best. He lived an honorable and faithful life.
Andy is survived by his parents Lee and Margaret McCardle and brother Jeffrey McCardle of State College, PA, brother Timothy McCardle of Medford, NJ, Daughters Sofia McCardle and Victoria McCardle of Silver Spring, MD.  And other nieces, nephews and friends. Family and friends will be received on Thursday, June 8, 2023 from 2 P. M. - 4 P. M. at the Dean K. Wetzler Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Inc. 201 Spring St., Milesburg. With the funeral service to follow at
4 P. M. with Rev. Lee McCardle officiating.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his 1st wife Carol Young Foley and his brother, David Foley.
John was a veteran having served in the U. S. Coast Guard, from January 23, 1967 – June 21, 1971. John received his Associate of Arts Degree at Northampton Community College in 1974, and his Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1978 from Penn State University. He was employed at J. C. Erlich from 1984-1993, and from 1994-1998 at Chem Tech Exterminating; from 2001-2021 he was a school bus driver, from which he retired.
He also was a U.S. Census taker in 2000. John always enjoyed telling stories and taking canoe trips. He was the drummer in the Baldheaded Blues Band. The family would like to give a special thank you to Melissa Hamilton and Paula Chronister and all of the goons! There will be a Celebration of Life held at a later date.

Before her retirement, Pauline was employed at Penn State University in housekeeping. She attended Hannah United Methodist Church and she enjoyed oil painting and gardening. She and her husband Paul enjoyed many winters in Florida. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Betty Abel and her brother, Ronald Bradley.

Along with her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her step mother, Isabel Breon, her siblings, John Breon, Margaret Kelly, Pearl Davis and Robert Breon; her daughters-in-law, Helen Burns and Barbra Burns; her grandson, Paul Burns, Jr., her great granddaughter, Samantha Hall and her great great granddaughter, Ella Burns. Pauline was a homemaker and was a member of the Fleming Free Methodist Church.
