Jorge Geraldino Pimentel - January 12, 1955 - April 09, 2021

Departed: 04/09/2021 (Hartford)
Obituary Preview: Jorge Geraldino Pimentel was a caring father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He left this world suddenly on April 9th, 2021 at the age of 66, in his hometown of Hartford, Connecticut.
Jorgito, as those close to him liked to call him because of his child-like kindness and enthusiasm, was the proud father to 4 daughters: Tanesha, Georgina, Johanna, and Orquidea and to two sons: Jorge and Ivan. His children also provided him with the blessing to become the proud Abuelo to 14 grandchildren ranging in ages from 1 to 25 years old. Jorgito always went out of his way pleasing neighbors, friends, and families typically driving them to appointments while also acting as a translator. Most noticeably he always did those things for his former wife and her current husband which teaches us all a great lesson about unconditional love, respect and kindness. They were best of friends and it showed in the way they interacted on a daily basis
Jorgito became a father figure on a particular set of grandchildren, Gianna, Giovanna, and Leo. He participated on all their activities acting as a guardian while driving them to school, soccer and baseball practices, school functions, as well as many other places and activities. Now all his children, grandchildren, families, and friends have a guardian angel guiding them everywhere they go.
Jorgito was an electrical engineer and a devoted baseball fan who enjoyed EVERYTHING related to the Yankees and Aguilas Cibaeñas. While most fans typically only care about wins and losses, Jorgito cared about every single pitch thrown in a Yankees game. Jorgito always brightened up any room with his smile, but if you ever watched a Yankees game sitting near him, you would think he was watching game 7 of the World Series simply by the way he celebrated every strike thrown by a Yankees pitcher or each time they reached first base. He also had some of us on speed dial to celebrate homeruns even if the game was in early April or in spring training. If you read that closely, that also teaches us a great lesson about enjoying and savoring every moment and that there are more things to celebrate in life besides wins and losses. Cherish every moment with your friends and family because The Journey is the Destination.
The family would like to express our appreciation for the prayers, kind words and gestures expressing your deepest condolences. We thank you from our hearts for your love and support; as we mourn our father but we also celebrate the gift of the life God has given to cherish in our hearts forever.
Those of you wishing to make a donation please support Dream Big School Program (gofundme.com/f/dream-big-school-program), an organization providing a much needed opportunity to Dominican soccer and baseball players looking to showcase their talent in USA colleges. Love Always Geraldino Pimentel family

It's often published in newspapers, online obituary platforms, or funeral home websites to inform friends, family, and community members of the passing.

Why are obituaries important?

Obituaries serve as a way to honor and celebrate the life of the deceased, while also providing important information to those who need to know about the passing. They can also help to notify people of funeral services, memorial events, and other details related to the deceased.

Who typically writes an obituary?

In most cases, the obituary is written by the family of the deceased, often with the assistance of a funeral home or obituary writer. In some cases, a friend or colleague may also write an obituary.

What information should be included in an obituary?

A typical obituary includes the person's name, age, date of birth and death, place of residence, occupation, education, military service, hobbies, and surviving family members. It may also include information about funeral services, memorial contributions, and other details.

How long should an obituary be?

The length of an obituary can vary depending on the publication and the family's preferences. Typically, an obituary ranges from 100 to 500 words. Online obituaries may be longer due to the lack of space constraints.

Can I include photos in an obituary?

Yes, many publications and online platforms allow you to include one or more photos with the obituary. This can be a great way to personalize the tribute and make it more meaningful.

How do I submit an obituary to a newspaper?
