Linda Marie Bailey - November 28, 1962 - December 21, 2023

Departed: 12/21/2023 (Crestview)
Obituary Preview: Linda Marie Bailey, 61, of Crestview, Florida passed away after fighting and surviving multiple types of cancer but eventually succumbed to her battle with liver disease on Thursday, December 21, 2023. She passed peacefully surrounded by family and someone there to hold her hand to the end as she left this world to join her parents on the eternal fishing trip she was looking forward to. Those that joined her in her final hours include her devoted husband of forty-two years, Michael S. Bailey, her sons and grandchildren, and her brother, Perly and his partner, Cindy, who all made the trip from Maine.
Linda was born November 28, 1962, in Gardiner, Maine and was the second daughter of Woodrow L. Williams Sr. and Frances R. Williams who eagerly awaited Linda’s soul to join them. Linda married her husband Mike on September 5, 1981. She graduated from Messalonskee High School in Oakland, Maine. After high school, she went right to work at LGL Pizza in Waterville and moved in with her husband Mike. They both moved to Sidney, Maine where they remained for over thirty years. Linda loved being a mother, devoted her life to God, her husband, and her children. She lived to be the best mom, and as such, she raised three boys to grow into successful men and never held back speaking her mind. She enjoyed traveling and she and Mike were able to visit most of her favorite destinations before they retired and settled in Crestview, Florida in 2019. The move to Florida allowed her and Mike to be a part of their grandchildren’s lives for her remaining years. She was a devoted and loving Grammie as well as a beloved nanny to Frannie Howard-Girad. Both her family and her friends were blessed to have had her for all those wonderful years.
To all those that she left behind, we are all better people for having shared this time on earth with her and look forward to some warm dinner rolls, her biggest catch and strawberry rhubarb pie she’ll have waiting for us. She had a passion for quilting, cooking, shopping, going to the beach and putting her feet in the sand, as well as most of her family members and might even have had one or two favorites. She loved animals of all kinds, especially Pugs and farm pigs. For some reason, she loved doing laundry and not just her own. If clothes were clean and out, she would just jump into folding it. She enjoyed fishing, but hating worms and baiting them was someone else’s job.
Linda is survived by husband, Mike Bailey; sons, Dominic (Courtney), Douglas (Elizabeth), and Quincy (Sarah); brothers, Woodrow, Rodney (Debbie), Perly (Cindy), and Guy (Debbie); sister, Vicki (Wayne); grandchildren, Ellie, Rilynn, Logan, Christian, Chloe, Hunter and Kallie; along with numerous nephews and nieces.

Teran Brown - September 15, 1956 - August 24, 2023

Departed: 08/24/2023 (Crestview)
Obituary Preview: Teran Brown, 66, of Crestview, Florida passed away Thursday, August 24, 2023.
Teran Brown was born in Boyle, Mississippi on September 15, 1956 as the fifth sibling and raised in Cleveland, Mississippi to the parents of Romey Green, Jr. and Frankie Phillips Green.
Teran began her journey with the Lord at a very young age, alongside her parents and other family members that attended St. Peter’s Rock Baptist Church in Cleveland, Mississippi. While there, she was baptized, became a faithful member, sung in the church choir, and participated in many other church activities.
She later married Larry Brown, an active-duty United States Air Force (USAF) member, and they were stationed at various military installations. It was while she was stationed with him at Norton Air Force Base (San Bernardino), California that she rededicated her life to Christ and became completely sold out for the Lord, serving as a soldier in God’s army. She attended New Hope Missionary Baptist Church where she diligently sought after the Lord, increasing her faith and belief to new levels, and then with Temple Missionary Baptist Church, seeking the baptism of the Holy Spirit.
After her husband’s tour of duty in California, they were sent to Florida where he retired from the United States Air Force and settled in Crestview, Florida. Teran joined First Church of God in Christ (FCOGIC) and served under Pastor Edward J. Parker. During her affiliation with FCOGIC, she became a serious prayer warrior and a faithful intercessor. Her desire to diligently seek the Lord continued to grow and she was baptized in the Holy Spirit and with Fire. It was after receiving this gift that she began boldly proclaiming ‘thus says the word of the Lord’. She never looked back.
After her tenure with First Church of God in Christ, Teran departed and became a member of Sonlight Covenant Church, serving under Pastor Alvin E. Smith. She was a faithful member and continued in the Lord’s calling as a dedicated prayer partner, intercessor, and warrior. She loved the Lord with all her heart, mind and strength, and prayed in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion while staying alert and being persistent in her prayers for her family, friends, and the body of Christ. Her faith was steadfast, immovable, and always abounded in the work of the Lord. Her light afflictions, which were only for a moment, worked for her a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory. She embodied the peace of God which transcended all understanding and guarded her heart and mind in Christ Jesus.
Teran was preceded in death by parents, Romey and Frankie Green; and her three brothers, Roosevelt Sullivan, Percy Sullivan, and Bishop Clarence Green.
She leaves to cherish her memories her beloved husband of forty-eight years, Larry Brown, and their two beautiful daughters, Norka (Ty) Jenkins and Krishna (Davion) Prendergast, and devoted son, Jerry Brown; one brother, Romey Green, III, and three sisters, Zettie Johnson, Clara (Vernon) Curb, and Joe Lee Green; five grandchildren, Tyre, Tayler, and Nicholas Jenkins, Donivan Prendergast, and Julius Brown; three great-grandchildren, Valerie and Gracelynn Johnson and Thalia Graham; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends.
A time of visitation will be held Saturday, September 16, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., at First Church of God in Christ, 986 Bay Street, Crestview, Florida 32536. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., with Pastor Alvin E. Smith officiating.

Sarah Allie Kemp - April 24, 1949 - August 07, 2023

Departed: 08/07/2023 (Crestview)
Obituary Preview: Sarah A. Qualls Kemp passed away at home on Monday, August 7, 2023, with her beloved husband and family by her side.
Sarah was born April 24, 1949 in Florala, Alabama to Dutch and Merle Qualls.  She grew up with her four sisters in Laurel Hill, Florida, attending Laurel Hill School, where she made many lifelong friends.
Sarah’s life changed drastically in 2018 when she became paralyzed by a stroke.  Prior to that, Sarah was a vibrant, active, athletic woman who enjoyed life and doted on her children and two granddaughters. She met Jerry Kemp when she was seventeen and married him one month later; a marriage that lasted fifty-seven years, with Jerry by her side as her faithful caregiver after her stroke. Together, they raised their three boys in the different places they lived, from Homestead Air Force Base to Orlando and back to Laurel Hill and Crestview, with short stints in other places from Las Vegas to North Carolina.  Wherever they went, Sarah adapted easily to whatever situation life dealt her.  She was always able to get a job and contribute to the family while being a wife and mother.  Sarah worked as everything from cashier to apple inspector, to working in the office for Kemp Brothers Construction, and cooking for the Ranger trainees at the Camp Rudder where she endeared herself to many.  She could do anything she set her mind to.
Sarah loved watching all sports and participating in many.  She loved to snow ski when she got the chance, and at different times, she was on the Laurel Hill women’s softball team and a Crestview bowling league. Sarah loved racing cars, a passion that she shared with Jerry and their sons, Steve and Shawn.  She kept the Southern Raceway in Milton hot with her car “85” hanging with the best of them. She and Jerry loved NASCAR.  They rarely missed NASCAR Sundays on television and traveled to the races when possible.  Sarah was a huge Jeff Gordon fan and had an impressive collection of Jeff Gordon memorabilia.  Sarah loved snorkeling and some of her favorite times were the years spent camping in Port St. Joe with family searching for scallops in the bay.
From the time they were born, Sarah spent all the time she could with her granddaughters, taking them everywhere with her and spoiling them in every way possible.  She was a loving and beloved “Baby” to Jerry, “Nana,” “Mom,” “sister,” “sister-in-law,” and “Aunt Sarah.”  She had many friends and family, and her outgoing personality made an impact with everyone she encountered through life and work.  Even after surviving her stroke, she retained her memory and her “spunk” that pulled her through difficult times.
Sarah is preceded in death by her parents, Dutch and Merle Qualls; sisters, Bobbie Jane Simmons and Annie Maude “Maudy” Carper; and brothers-in-law, Ronnie Childs, Gene Simmons, and Billy Simmons.  She is survived by her husband of fifty-seven years, Jerry Kemp; sons, Steven Kemp, Jerry Kemp, Jr., and Shawn Kemp and wife, Jennifer; granddaughters, Savannah and Jerilyn Kemp; sisters, Gladys Simmons and Dianne Childs; sisters-in-law, Shelia Locke, Kathy Kemp, and Terry Kemp; and brothers-in-law, Quentin, Charles, and Keith Kemp, and Thomas Carper; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Visitation will be held in the chapel of Davis-Watkins Crestview Memmorial, 492 East Pine Avenue, Crestview, Florida on Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at 5:00 p.m. Memorial Service officiated by Don Cadenhead will take place at 6:00 p.m.
Arrangements are entrusted to Davis-Watkins Crestview Memorial Funeral Home.
