Obituary Preview: On Sunday, March 14, 2021, our beloved Sylvia "Peaches" Cubille Opong-Wiredu passed along at the young age of 50 in her Schenectady, NY residence. She was born on October 30, 1970 to Luz and the late James McDougal. She is survived by her sister Yvonne Cubille and brother James Cubille, Sr. She is preceded in death by a brother, George Cubille. She also leaves behind two children, Eboneé (Kevin) Singleton and Duquan (Keena) McLeod. She also has three grandchildren, Levi Turner, Keidra McLeod, and King'Judah McLeod along with two godchildren Nefertiti Castillo and Tyrese Wallace and a host of nieces, nephews, and in laws.
Sylvia was known for her huge heart. She would always help, whenever she was able to, whether it was lending an ear, or giving a ride. She loved children and music, and there was always a special place in her heart for her family. On February 14, 2021, she extended her family when she married Frank Opong-Wiredu.
She also loved working. After attending DeWitt Clinton she entered the workforce. She had been an employee at Maximus for the last 8 years as a Task Manager with hopes of one day becoming a trainer. In her free time she freelancer for Uber, Lyft, and Instacart where she enjoyed connecting and meeting new people. Sylvia was able to touch many souls and will truly be missed.
Funeral Services which relatives and friends are invited to attend will be held on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at 11:30 AM at the Curtis Funeral Home & Cremations Inc. 324 Hulett St.Schenectady, NY 12307.Calling hours will be held from 9:30 AM until the service at 11:30 AM.

Obituary Preview: Ann Elizabeth Chappel 70, A resident of Moyston Street, entered eternal life on Friday, November 27, 2020 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Ann was born in Albany, New York, The daughter of the late Thomas Chappel and Hortense Artis-Burns. She was educated in the Albany school system.
She was employed as a CNA for the Albany County Nursing Home.
Survivors include one son Anthony Tyrone Artis two daughters, Stephanie Artis And Roseanna Williams, two brothers Fred T. Artis and Timothy Williams, one sister Gail Williams six grandchildren Latoya Washington, Marlenea Allen, Nakoya Bell, Tantaniea Bell, Josh Miller Artis and Osajene Artis. A special friend who Ann cared for deeply Michael Bedell. Also survived by 5 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephew’s, family and friends.
The Family would like to thank Charles Calloway for his help taking care of Ann. It was greatly appreciated.
A Home going celebration will be held on Friday December 4, 2020 at 10 AM at the Curtis Funeral Home & Cremations Inc. 324 Hulett St. Schenectady, NY 12307.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic masks are required and social distancing will be practiced.

He graduated from Mohonasen High School in 1995. Edward was employed as a supervisor for Mobile Air Transport in Albany, New York until becoming disabled.
Ed enjoyed spending time with his nieces and playing video games. He was predeceased by his father Edward Anthony Reilly. Survivors include his mother Teddie Ann Reilly, his brother and sister-in-law Sean D. (Mary) Reilly, two nieces Sarah and Shannon Reilly, his loving companion Venus Benoit and her daughter Scarlett Parker. Ed is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Calling hours to which relatives and friends are invited to attend will be held on Tuesday, October 20, 2020 from 5 to 7 PM in the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at 10 AM at the Curtis Funeral Home & Cremations Inc. 324 Hulett St, Schenectady New York 12307.  Internment will take place in the family plot at Saint John the Baptist Cemetery Schenectady.

Obituary Preview: Sylvia A.E. Smith went home to be with the Lord on the evening of Wednesday, October 7, 2020. She was born in Albany, NY to the late Sidney and Ruth R. Edwards. She was a loving, meek and mild person but extremely private.
Sylvia was a graduate of Linton High School and attended the NY State University of Albany. She started her working career with the NYS Department of Motor Vehicle as a teen and from there she went on to work for Albany Savings Bank where she was a manager in the finance department. When the bank closed, she went to work for CONTEC and then to Transworld Entertainment where she eventually retired. While working for Transworld Entertainment, she and her husband opened a trucking business.
There is so much that will be missed about Sylvia, especially her famous cookouts with her specialty shrimp salad and anything else you could possibly imagine.
Sylvia was predeceased by her parents Sidney and Ruth Edwards, and her brother Sidney O. Edwards. She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband, Alvin G. Smith, one daughter, Gabrielle N. Smith Jenkins (Corey) of Schenectady, NY, one sister, LaVerne Edwards of Schenectady, NY, a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, in-loves, cousins and a special grandchild soon to be delivered. Her first grandchild, though not yet born, that she loved very much.
