Delbert Ronald Harger - December 25, 1949 - October 05, 2023

Departed: 10/05/2023 (Nashville)
Obituary Preview: Delbert Ronald Harger, 73 of Greenbrier, TN Departed into the Loving Arms of Jesus, on the morning of October 5th 2023 at Tri-Star Skyline Medical Center, in Nashville, TN
As a Loving Husband, Del and Carol had a dream of living out their last years as residents of Tennessee, exploring the surrounding areas and experiencing the Southern Charm. It was cut short for Del as he had a serious fall from the moving truck on Sat. Sept. 23rd. the day after the closing of their new home. Del spent the next 13 days fighting for his life, with a broken wrist, head injury, brain bleed, fractured pelvis, and heart complications.
His brother-in-law Gary Hamacher, Grandson Jacob Walker, Granddaughter Emily Wolfe and daughter Raelene Hayes came to his bedside right after the accident happened. Del was continuously held in prayer by so many people, far too many to list. Pastor Dean Grotzke was able to Facetime Del and say final prayers over him just before he passed from this earthly life to meet Jesus.
Surrounded by his loving wife, Carol, Granddaughter, Emily Wolfe, Close family friends, Theresa and Nick Moran, and their daughter, Tori Price, Del took his final and very peaceful breaths while being caressed, kissed, and loved on by Carol. There was Gospel music playing softly as well as favorite songs of his and Carol’s by the Righteous Brothers.
The outpouring of love towards Del and Carol has been incredible. From old friends to new friends, love has poured in. The amazing support from their new neighborhood, Westbrook Place has truly been indescribable. From outdoor prayer circles surrounding the home, to over 30 neighbors gathering to support Carol on the night of Del’s passing. A special thank you to the area pastors: Don Sensing, Brother Rick Burton, Paster Paul Royalty and Pastor Randy Harmon and Chaplin Rita Hays.
Del was born in Mooreland, OK. to Marjorie Harris and Lotice Harger. He grew up in Denver and California and graduated from Glendora High School in 1968, As a High Schooler he worked for Alpha Beta, in the produce department. Del had degrees from Lake Washington Technical College for Drafting and a Bachelor’s Degree for Nursing.
Marrying his Wife of 53 years on Nov. 6, 1969 in Las Vegas, Nevada they moved to Washington State in Nov. 1975.
Del started his career in the printing business as a pressman. Working at Treasure Chest in Glendora CA. then Taylor Publishing in Covina, CA. Moving to Washinton state in Nov. 1975 his career took him to Northshore Publishing in Bothell WA and then to Diamond Publishing in Kent WA. After 3 surgeries and going back to school to become a drafter, he hired on at The Boeing Company in Everett, WA. Retiring after 30 years on Dec. 30, 2014 as a Technical Designer.
The following May 8, 2015 Del had a serious near fatal fall, being airlifted to Harbor View Hospital in Seattle, breaking his neck in 5 places and a serious brain bleed. He was told by several doctors at this trauma hospital he should be dead from this fall, or at least be a paraplegic. God gave Del a miracle and completely healed him. Our God is Good all the Time.
Del and Carol lived in their Snohomish home for 47 years and he was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church in Everett. Being a man of God, Del served as a Deacon and Head Usher. Del enjoyed his involvement in Awana and Vacation Bible School ministries. Del also served on a Men’s Mission Team helping men with personal items and basic needs after coming out of prison.

His students, many of whom say he was their favorite teacher, would also say he was tough but fair; always pushing them to do their best. Greg touched the lives of so many people during his life – young and old. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. At his last Sunday morning service at Fairlane, he led a prayer for the sick and spoke about the need to demonstrate our faith in Christ by being joyful despite hardship. And that is exactly how he lived out the end of his life.
Visitation with the Hines family will be on Sunday, October 1, 2023, from 1PM until 3:30PM, at Western Hills Church of Christ (7565 Charlotte Pike). The service will immediately follow at 3:30PM.

Kelli Loren Powell - May 12, 1967 - September 15, 2023

Departed: 09/15/2023 (Nashville)
Obituary Preview: Kelli Loren Powell, age 56 died September 15, 2023, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. During her five-week hospitalization, Kelli was uplifted by visits from many dear friends.
Born May 12, 1967, in Spartanburg, SC, Kelli grew up in AZ and NC and graduated from Southview High School in Hope Mills, NC. Inspired by her mother’s love of cooking, Kelli received her culinary arts degree from Johnson and Wales University which launched her career in the food industry.
Kelli managed several restaurants in SC and NC, including The Chop House in Wilmington, NC where she forged many lifetime friendships. Kelli went on to work in food sales with Cisco and Whole Foods and then a real estate agent with Keller Williams.
Kelli’s pride and joy was her family. She is survived by her wife of 17 years, Shay Gibson; her parents, Juanita and Mike Bahr of Crossville, TN; brother, Kevin Powell (Meredith and daughter Karson) of Nolensville, TN; sisters Kristen Olson (Mike and son Davis) of Charleston, SC; Jennifer Pence (Addam and daughter Henlee) of Nolensville, TN; in-laws Jane and Paul Gibson of Greensboro, NC.; sister in-law Sara Jane Gibson of Charlotte, NC; and beloved dog Izzy who was Kelli’s constant companion.
Kelli was passionate about life and lived fully. She loved music, good food, the Sound of Music, and the Andy Griffith Show. She had a strong work ethic and a huge heart for helping others. Kelli made friends throughout her life and kept those friends close.
Kelli suffered a major stroke in October of 2017. The cause of that stroke was not learned until 2020 when she was diagnosed with Primary Myelofibrosis, a rare bone marrow cancer. Despite the loss of function, speech, and independence, Kelli displayed courage, grace, and a strong loving spirit. Her mantra was to be kind, something Kelli embodied all the way to the end.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to Dr. Sanjay Mohan and the Vanderbilt Hematology Clinic along with the Vanderbilt Infusion Clinic for their compassion and care. A special thanks also to family members, friends, neighbors, and colleagues for their countless acts of kindness during these past six years.
A celebration of Kelli’s life will be held Saturday September 30, 2023, at 1:00pm at Glendale Baptist Church in Nashville, TN. For those unable to attend, the service will be live streamed.
Because Kelli was transfusion dependent since her 2020 cancer diagnosis, the family encourages you to become a blood or platelet donor. Memorial contributions can be made to: the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (https://www.lls.org) or Healing Heads Foundation (https://www.healingheadstn.org) whose mission is to ensure no stroke or brain injury survivor goes without rehabilitation due to financial status.
