Mary Louise Pielemeier - January 06, 1930 - February 23, 2022

Departed: 02/23/2022 (Princeton)
Obituary Preview: Mary Louise Davidson Pielemeier passed away February 23, 2022. She was born January 6, 1930.  She grew up on the family farm outside of Carlisle, Indiana.  A farm built by her grandparents, which she still owns today.  It was an idyllic childhood that she loved to talk about and to which she longed to return.  She treasured her childhood dogs and revered her parents and the life they led in Carlisle.
She graduated from Carlisle High School in 1948.  She was a cheerleader, and knew all her classmates.  She loved attending class reunions, and went to all of them, even into her 80’s.
She then went on to Gradwohl Medical Technology School in St. Louis, a part of Washington University, after high school.  And eventually ended up at the VA Hospital in Indianapolis, where she worked as a medical technologist for 20 years, retiring in 1995.
She married Robert J. Pielemeier Jr., “Bob” on July 21, 1952, at the Carlisle First United Methodist Church.  She and Bob moved to Indianapolis, and eventually to Carmel.  They raised two sons, Robert John III, “John,” and Thomas Franklin, “Tom” Pielemeier, who survive.  Bob passed away on March 4, 2010.  Mary was a loving wife and mother.
Her connection to Carlisle remained strong throughout her life.  The boys went there for summer vacations.  The family participated in community events of all sorts throughout the years.  She kept those friendships and connections throughout her life.
Once the boys were in high school, Mary went back to college at IUPUI, earning an Associate’s Degree in History.  Her passion for her family and their history lead her naturally to the Daughters of the American Revolution, where she proved her lineage several times over.  She eventually became the Regent of the Caroline Scott Harrison Chapter of the D.A.R. in Indianapolis.  She enjoyed the clubs activities very much, including the President’s Day Tea, and marching in the Veterans Day Parade.
She loved flower gardening, genealogy and playing the piano.  She spent many years caring for others in her family, starting when she was a small child, reading to her bed-bound grandmother.  She treasured the beautiful things she had inherited from them and enjoyed sharing those stories with everyone.  She was, above all things, devoted to her family and her family history.
