Bert Engle - October 19, 2017 - March 04, 2024

Departed: 03/04/2024 (Justice)
Obituary Preview: I "adopted " Bert some time ago with his brother Ernie, and their adopted brother Oolie. I picked them up as a package deal, and was very pleased to have brought them in, they were very cute, and entertaining.
Bert was a very good kid, but very skittish. I worked hard to get him to trust me, but his life before me was not that ideal.
Ernie, and Oolie learned to trust, but Bert still struggled with it, and would always cling to Ernie for his support, and Ernie cuddled with his brother to protect him.
Bert's passing hit me so hard. I spent the evening with him, until I was getting too tired. I put him back in his cage with his brother, after giving him meds. He went into his brother’s hut, they do that when they are scared. Sometime After I zonked out on the couch, and when I woke up at 5am I found him right below where I fell asleep, on the floor in front of the couch, he never went under it. So he climbed out of his cage and fell to the floor to find me I picked him up, and wrapped him in a soft towel, gave him some meds, and gently tried to soothe him, some three, four hours later he passed. It touched me so much that he found me, and what he went through to get there. 10/19/17 - 03/0424
He would have been Seven this year.
Bert is survived by his brother Ernie, and his adopted brothers; Nilla, Latte, Smores, and Ripley. and his two new adopted sisters (un named as of the moment).
May God keep you and look after you my sweet boy I love you kid.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is an obituary?

An obituary is a written notice that announces the death of a person, typically including their name, age, date of birth and death, and a brief biography. It is usually published in a newspaper, online obituary platform, or funeral home website to inform friends, family, and community members of the passing.

Why are obituaries important?

Obituaries serve as a way to honor and celebrate the life of the deceased, while also providing essential information to those who need to know about the passing. They help to notify friends, family, and acquaintances of the funeral or memorial service details, allowing them to pay their respects and offer condolences.

Who writes an obituary?

Typically, a family member or close friend of the deceased writes the obituary. In some cases, a funeral home or obituary writer may assist with writing the obituary. The writer should be someone who knew the deceased well and can provide accurate and meaningful information about their life.

What information should be included in an obituary?

A typical obituary includes the deceased's full name, age, date of birth and death, place of residence, occupation, education, military service, hobbies, achievements, and surviving family members. It may also include information about the funeral or memorial service, charitable donations in lieu of flowers, and any other relevant details.

How long should an obituary be?

The length of an obituary can vary depending on the publication or platform. Generally, it should be concise and to the point, ranging from 100 to 500 words. Longer obituaries may be more suitable for online platforms or memorial websites.

Can I include photos in an obituary?

Yes, many publications and online platforms allow you to include one or more photos with the obituary. This can be a great way to personalize the notice and make it more meaningful to readers.

How do I submit an obituary to a newspaper?
