Upon beginning this new chapter, he trained, studied, and vigorously prepared himself for acceptance into the Air Force Special Warfare Division as a Combat Controller stationed at Lackland AFB San Antonio, TX. He was the Recipient of the National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and an Air and Space Training Ribbon. Unfortunately, Ben suffered a significant medical setback during his time of service and was honorably retired from the Air Force in August 2023.
After his service, Ben joined the Wounded Warrior Project, a well-known veteran group that provides support and events to veterans and their families. Ben found great value in being with like-minded individuals who helped each other achieve and succeed. While competing in a Wounded Warrior Project event in Texas, Ben met a beautiful young woman, Kristina. They enjoyed countless adventures together, including a recent trip to Hawaii. He decided to continue his education and enrolled in college in Colorado Springs where he had recently moved to and called home.
Ben’s passion for cross-country motorcycling continued after his service. He completed an adventurous 30,000-mile ride across America seeing friends, family, monuments, and attractions of this great nation. Ben was a true Renaissance man, free spirit, outstanding athlete, and avid outdoorsman, who found great joy in his passions of power lifting, deep-sea diving, music, and academics.
Ben always held his loving brothers Kenneth J. Andrea Jr. of East Bridgewater, Mitchell R. Andrea of East Bridgewater, and James A. Andrea of Sandwich in the highest regards as a "Band of Brothers.” Ben is survived by his parents, brothers, grandfather Mark J. Sullivan of Falmouth, and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Ben’s memory and spirit will live on through those who loved him.
God bless you, Ben; you are now at true peace.

Peter graduated from East Bridgewater High School with the Class of 1958 and would continue his education at Bridgewater State College, where he would receive his undergraduate and Master’s Degree in Education.
For over 30 years, Peter was a teacher for the Whitman-Hanson public school district, teaching science and history almost exclusively for 6th grade, and was well liked and admired by his students and fellow colleagues. Leaving a long lasting impact on his students, Peter was very proud of his teaching career and his commitment to public education. Outside of teaching, Peter had many other interests including coin collecting, classical music, history and art. He was a world traveler during his younger years, visiting many European countries and embraced the freedom of having summers off by annually vacationing on Nantucket Island, a tradition he held for decades.
During his time as a member of the East Bridgewater Historical Society, Peter became widely known as the foremost authority on the American painter, sculptor and writer, Francis Davis Millet, who died tragically in the sinking of the RMS Titanic. As the world’s notable “Milletologist”, Peter became a sought after expert on Millet’s life and career, as he was often contacted and interviewed by many American and European museums and historians to discuss his vast knowledge and proficiency on the subject. After decades of research, studying and collecting many original documents and items, Peter self-published a book entitled, “Francis Davis Millet: A Titanic Life” in 2010, a 464 page tribute to the great artist whose work was such an inspiration to him.
Known affectionately as “GUP” to his family (short for “Great Uncle Pete”), Peter will be remembered as a kind and loving brother, uncle and friend – a reliable and steadfast man whose loyalty, benevolence and compassion will long be appreciated and treasured by all who knew and loved him. Peter never said goodbye, instead he would always say “Bon Soir!”, a jovial variation which exemplified how lively and cheerful his demeanor was.

Engstrom and his wife Jennifer of East Bridgewater and Anne Engstrom of Dennis, MA.
He was the beloved “GUP” to Daniel and Lawrence Bowley, Megan and Sarah Engstrom, Nicholas and Natalie Engstrom and Wyatt and Leo Bowley. He was also the loyal and loving friend of Dale and Lorna Peterson and their family of Amherst, MA, as well as countless other close friends, companions and colleagues.
