Patricia Lynn Partida (née Bugger) - April 22, 1954 - February 23, 2022

Departed: 02/23/2022 (Calumet City)
Obituary Preview: Patricia Lynn Partida, née Bugger, daughter of the late Collinsville Postmaster Sylvester “Buzz” Bugger, died at her home in Calumet City, Illinois, February 23, 2022, at the age of 67.
Officially, “Patty” passed away from natural causes but her heart had never recovered from the loss a year earlier of her beloved husband, David Partida. David had passed on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2021.
She was born to Buzz and his wife, the former Lena Pauline Brinkley, in East St. Louis on April 22, 1954. Patty grew up on the outskirts of Collinsville with younger brother Timothy and younger sister Pamela. Her father was postmaster of Collinsville in the 1970s and 1980s before his death in 1984. Pauline died in 1976, and Tim passed away in 2014. Pam survives in Calumet City.
Patty graduated from Collinsville High School in 1972 and headed off to Eastern Illinois University. While at EIU, she met Michael Garcia Jr. The two married in 1974 and moved to suburban Chicago. They had two sons, Devin, born 1976, followed by Damen in 1979. Unfortunately, the marriage ended, and Patty became a single mother.
Patty’s life changed when she met David Partida, a mental health counselor. They married in 1988, in Hammond Indiana. Patty became Patricia Lynn Partida. They welcomed daughter Peyton in 1992. Meanwhile, Patty returned to school to realize her dream of becoming a nurse. A vocation she held until physical problems particularly rheumatoid arthritis forced her into retirement.
In 1998, son Devin married Catherine Sue Mills, and Patty became a grandmother to Isaiah Devin Garcia in 2005. Followed by Lydia Jasmine Garcia in 2006.
The family expanded even further in 2015. Patty’s younger son Damen married Kimberly Brunett in the Smokey Mountains town of Gatlinburg, Tennessee. He became stepfather to Kim’s daughter Annabelle Happ and son Michael Happ.
The Smokey Mountains held a special place in Patty’s heart. She vacationed there frequently, and in 2017 they also provided the backdrop for daughter Peyton’s marriage to Grant Burke.
In addition to her children, grandchildren and sister, Patty is survived by an Uncle William Bugger of Collinsville along with numerous cousins. Although her life was often a struggle, her family and friends will remember her outgoing personality, big smile, and hearty laugh.
On Saturday, April 2, 2022, a service for Patty will be held at SS. Peter and Paul Church in Collinsville, visitation at 10 a.m., services at 11 am. This will be followed by a brief ceremony at Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Shiloh at 12:30 p.m.
In Calumet City, services have been provided by Castle Hill Funeral Home.

Chances are if you saw Tammy, she had a baby or a child in her arms because she absolutely cherished them. She raised her children with love and devotion in Lansing with her husband Jeff. Tammy was very opinionated and outspoken which fueled her need to partake in political banter on Facebook voicing her opinions of making the world a better place.
