Carol J. Kruser 75, of Potosi, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully at MercyOne in Dubuque, Iowa, on Saturday, April 6, 2024, surrounded by her family after a brief illness. She fought a courageous fight and through it all she never lost her humor and her sweetness. A celebration of her life will be held Friday, May 10, 2024, from 6-9:00 p.m. at the Holiday Gardens in Potosi, Wisconsin. Carol was born on September 2, 1948, in Dodgeville, Wisconsin, to Norman and Dorothy (Butteris) Johnson. Carol married the love of her life, Randall (Randy) Kruser, on May 23, 1970, at St. Andrew Catholic Church.
After retiring from The Insurance Center, Randy and Carol enjoyed their "Kruser Kingdom" by planting flowers, gardening, and attending to their apple trees, vineyards, and raspberry bushes. Carol would make her famous tomato juice, and she enjoyed watching the deer, turkeys, and all the different birds. She taught her grandchildren the skill of making Lefse. Carol enjoyed pontoon rides, fishing, and side-by-side rides with Randy to tour their property with a cold Coors Light. Her friends would describe her as a free-loving spirit, with their weekly trips to the Mexican restaurant for their "group therapy" margaritas. Carol never knew a stranger and was considered a social butterfly. She enjoyed her daily calls with family and friends. She was always up for anything.
Most of all Carol enjoyed her grandchildren and attending all their sporting and school events. She never wanted to miss any football, basketball, baseball, softball, soccer or volleyball games. She left her grandchildren with many memories of their time spent staying at the Kruser Kingdom. Grandma always spoiled them and always made sure she had special treats. She loved their visits especially during deer hunting season and couldn't wait to learn if they got one.
Carol was so proud of her Veteran and was so excited when the Kruser boys took the Honor Flight to Washington D.C. last year.
It's hard to sum up Carol's life but simply put, family was everything and her laugh will never be forgotten.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 53 years, Randy Kruser of Potosi; her two children, Mindla (Jerry) White of Altoona, IA, and Chad (Tatum) Kruser of Cuba City, WI; her six grandchildren who were her pride and joy, Oskar, Everett and Alexandra White, all of Altoona IA, and Ella, Henry and Josie Kruser, all of Cuba City, WI; her two brothers, David Johnson and Norman Johnson, Jr.; her two sisters, Sharon (Al) Wheeler and her twin Carla Johnson; her in-laws, John, Wayne (Betty) Kruser, Mert Kruser, Elaine Groom, Bonnie (Bill) Hammel, Harvey (Mary) Kruser, Karen (Tom) Van Stedum, Gary (Ruth) Kruser, and Bruce (Donna) Kruser; two aunts, Diana Johnson and Brenda Johnson; and many special nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Kathryn, daughter of Elizabeth (McLain) and Henry Langkamp, was born on June 12, 1936. She grew up on the family farm surrounded by her brothers and sisters. On September 25, 1954, Kathryn married the love of her life, George H Powell. Together they built a wonderful life, with their 3 children residing in Dickeyville. George and Kathryn had the type of marriage and love that most people dream of. They had their ups and downs, but no two people were more perfect for each other. Her chocolate chip cookies were famous and you could never eat just one. Those that knew Kathryn, knew her love of cards. She would be the first person to call you out if you played the wrong card in euchre, and she wouldn’t let you forget it. Kathryn resided in Dickeyville until 2015 where she then moved to the Pioneer Ridge Apartments in Platteville. There, she made many wonderful friends who supported her and helped her throughout the years.

Memorials in Kathryn’s name may be sent to Boys Town, St. Jude’s Hospital or Shriner’s Hospital.
