Leon Arthur Weymouth - October 01, 1933 - December 10, 2023

Departed: 12/10/2023 (Plymouth)
Obituary Preview: Leon Arthur “Rocky” Weymouth passed peacefully at home with his family by his side. Leon was born October 1, 1933, in New Gloucester, Maine to Frank and Doris (Verrill) Weymouth. He lost his father at a young age and he soon became his mother’s helper. Spending time in the kitchen learning family recipes and working around the farm. If you had the honor of cooking with him you had to pay attention because they were made by memory and love.
As soon as he could, Leon enlisted in the army and fought for his country during the Korean War. After the war he returned to Massachusetts and met his sweetheart, Carol Ann Basler. They married in 1956 and settled in Plymouth to raise their family. Leon was a supportive, hard-working family man with a boyish grin. He worked at Plymouth Rubber Company in Canton for over twenty years as a Machinist Mechanic and then at Boston Insulated Wire (BIW) at Cordage Park in Plymouth, making friends along the way until his retirement in the ’90s.
Leon had many hobbies and was a “Jack of all Trades,” tinkering and constructing along the way. He and Carol loved traveling to Maine and Florida and were part of local VFWs over the years. He was commander of post 2235 in the early 1980s. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, boating, and making wooden and paper airplane models by memory without plans. He loved to garden and took great pride in his roses. To plant a garden is to believe in tomorrow. His true passion was cooking, if you received a jar of pickles or a friendship cake you knew it was made with love. When he wasn’t looking for a project to do or helping a friend or neighbor, he was sitting quietly, legs crossed, sipping coffee deep within a book or a favorite show waiting for the next person to help.
He leaves his loving children, Lynn (Bryant) Applegate, Michael Weymouth, Kevin Weymouth, and Carla (Michael) Newbrey. Affectionately known as “Grampa,” “Grampy” or “Papa”, he leaves nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He also leaves his siblings, Robert (Arlene) Marston of Maine, Janice Noyes of Florida, Joan (Dwight) Edgerly of Maine, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Carol, and his eldest son, Leon who were awaiting in heaven with open arms. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Norma Davis and Joyce Waterman, and his brothers, Frank Weymouth, Everett Weymouth, and Ronnie Marston. All of which he missed immensely.
Leon will be reunited with Carol. A period of visitation will take place on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at the Cartmell-Davis Life Celebration Funeral Home, 373 Court Street, Plymouth. A memorial service will begin at 3:00 pm. The burial will be private.

One of Pam's hallmarks was her infectious laugh. She brightened many rooms in her lifetime when she got into one of her classic laughing fits. We will all miss that loving and welcoming sound. Pam was inquisitive about all things and through her years developed an encyclopedic knowledge of areas of interest to her, Animals, flowers, and cooking. She made quick work of the Sunday New York Times crossword puzzle and sudoku.
She had many artistic expressions which included creating beautifully detailed beaded jewelry and dreamcatchers. She was an original flower child and had house plants as old as her children, but always had room for one more. She always maintained a vegetable and flower garden, sometimes small, sometimes ginormous, but always prolific. And of course, she loved music. Seeing Tom Rush in Plymouth on her birthday was a highlight for Pam.
Pam's journey took her from Massachusetts to Maryland, to Austin Texas, where she married and had her 2 children, to Tucson AZ to her favorite of all, Yosemite National Park where she worked for several years enjoying all that park offers and finally back to the Northeast where she returned to Plymouth to be with family.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Donations in Pams memory can be made to : Black Feather Horse Rescue, Plymouth, MA. 508-951-4685, https://www.blackfeatherhorserescue.org/donate Or South Shore Humane Society Braintree, MA. 781-843-5838, http://southshorehumane.org/about-us/

Kenneth T Page - March 12, 1945 - October 11, 2023

Departed: 10/11/2023 (Plymouth)
Obituary Preview: Kenneth T. Page, 78, of Plymouth, MA, passed away on October 11, 2023 after a long battle with Parkinson's disease.
Ken, the eldest of three children, was born in South Weymouth, MA on March 12, 1945, to the late Lucian and Barbara Page. Ken lived his young life in Wareham, MA with his parents and sisters, Sheri and Sharon, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends nearby.
After earning his Eagle Scout Award and graduating from Wareham High School in 1963, he attended Duke University and earned an engineering degree in 1968. Ken then embarked on a 47 year career as a civil engineer for the same firm – Camp Dresser & McKee (now CDM Smith). He held many titles throughout his prestigious professional career, but he was most proud of his time as CDM's Chief Health & Safety Officer. Ken was also a lifetime member of the Boston Society of Civil Engineers.
Ken met his wife of 44 years, Peggy (or "Kid" as he affectionately called her) at Weymouth Commons in 1975. They married in 1979 and moved to Plymouth, where they put down roots in the family home where Peggy still resides. Their sons, Christopher and Matthew, were born in 1981 and 1983. Ken was a devoted husband and father and immensely proud of the life he and Peggy created. Always selfless, he preferred to highlight his wife's and boys' pursuits and accomplishments over his own. He was a mentor, advisor, coach, scout leader, volunteer. He listened, taught and disciplined (sometimes in the same breath – an amazing trait). He took great pride in the family home, and he and Peggy "managed" a multitude of projects throughout the years to maintain its beauty. In his later years, Gampa / Papa cherished holding court with his grandchildren, imparting his wisdom and wonderful idiosyncrasies to all.
Above all, Ken was the kindest, most respectful and trustworthy soul. Anyone with the pleasure of knowing Ken will recall his innate ability to engage you, to calm you and brighten every single interaction. His smile and laugh lit up a room. And his "sayings" and "embellished" stories were legendary. When his time came (albeit too soon), he carried himself with dignity, strength and love. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.
Ken is survived by his loving wife, Peggy; his sons, Christopher (Heather) and Matthew (Jacqueline); his grandchildren, Jackson, Connor, Caroline and Mia; his sisters, Sheri and Sharon (Gregg), as well as beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Shirley Barengo - September 23, 1925 - October 11, 2023

Departed: 10/11/2023 (Plymouth)
Obituary Preview: Shirley (Thomas) Barengo, 98, of Plymouth, passed away peacefully at home on October 11, 2023 with her family at her bedside. She was the wife of the late Charles Joseph Barengo.
Born at home in Carver, MA on September 23, 1925, Shirley was the beloved daughter of the late James Eli and Lena F. (Kennedy) Thomas. She was educated in Plymouth through Carver High School which was located in the current Nathaniel Morton Intermediate School.
Shirley was well known for her kind demeanor. She radiated grace and class wherever she went. Always a true lady who was loved and respected by all who had the gift of knowing her.
Shirley was a homemaker and her husband's greatest supporter. Together they worked at Barengo Farm in Plymouth. Side by side, they'd milk the cows at 4AM and again every evening. On cold mornings, Shirley bundled up her two young daughters, Jane and Brenda, brought them across the field and tucked them into their grandmother's warm bed so they could continue sleeping while she milked the cows. During busy seasons, she also helped with the haying of the fields. In 1945, her husband Charles founded West End Drilling. Shirley managed the "office" telephone and did all the bookkeeping from her kitchen table.
Home was the center of Shirley's life. She was an excellent cook and was well known for her hospitality. People loved to stop by and visit at her kitchen table. She hosted many large family gatherings in her home and no holiday was complete without Grandma's Magic Cookie Bars.
Shirley was a devoted grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother. She was always present for the important events of her grandkids' lives: holidays, birthdays, sports events, school or church programs, graduations, showers, and weddings.
Shirley's optimistic outlook, kind spirit, and quick smile endeared her to everyone who knew her.
Shirley loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and had many dear friends at Bible Baptist Church in Plymouth, MA, where she was a member and faithfully attended.
She faithfully attended Weight Watchers meetings for decades, though she had achieved and maintained her Life Long Status in the program.
She'd encourage others with her unending support and loved going out to lunch with her friends after the meetings.
Shirley was the loving mother of John Barengo of Plymouth, Jane (Barengo) Harju and her husband Lawrence of Middleboro, and the late Brenda (Barengo) Krakowski.
She was the loving "Gram" of Sarah Beals, Amy Stricklin, Beth Thomas, Hannah Stricklin, Karla Costa, Kary Brouillard, Kristin Oriola, Rebecca Hathaway, Scott Roberts, Jr., and Charles Barengo.
She was the adoring "Great-Gramma" of Hailee Oriola, Emily Brouillard, Derek Costa, Abby and Colleen Hathaway, Avery Roberts, Rebekah Anglea, Emily Barnard, Matthew Beals, Holly Weldon, Hope and Brayden Beals, Andrew, Emma, Seth and Kate Stricklin, Maddison Williams, Jenna and Leah Bergeron, and Summer and Addy Stricklin.
She was the loving great-great grandmother of Annie, Lizzy, and Eloise Barnard, Olivia, Rylee, and Everly Williams, and Karina and John Anglea.
Shirley was pre-deceased by her siblings James Thomas, Dana Thomas, Dorothy Travers and Martha Holmes. Friends and relatives are invited to visiting hours at the Cartmell-Davis Funeral Home, 373 Court St., Plymouth on Monday, October 16, 2023 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. The funeral Service will take place on Tuesday morning October 17th at the Cartmell-Davis Funeral Home at 10:30 a.m. followed by interment in the Plymouth County Cemetery, Plymouth. Donations in Shirley's Memory may be made to Compassionate Care Hospice, 100 Myles Standish Blvd, Suite 103, Taunton, MA 02780
