Obituary Preview: Sharon Denise Solomon was born December 26, 1954 to the union of the late Merlyn Elizabeth Toney and George Wesley Toney, Jr. On June 8, 1970, God blessed Sharon (Peaches) Solomon and Leroy Ziegler with a healthy baby girl, Tomekia A. Toney, her only child. In 1974, Sharon united in Holy Matrimony to Phillip Solomon, Jr. Sharon accepted the Lord as her personal savior at an early age joining New Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, under the leadership of the late pastor, Dr. J. Carlton Allen. She later started attending Progressive Missionary Baptist Church and Greater Good News Missionary Baptist Church is where she served faithfully until she answered her call from the Lord in which He said, "Well Done My Good and Faithful Servant." Sharon grew up in San Antonio, Texas attending the public schools of San Antonio Independent School District. She graduated from Healy Murphy Learning Center. Soon after graduation she joined the workforce, where she enjoyed helping others. Later in life she went back to school to become a Pharmacy Tech as she landed employment with Northeast Methodist Hospital until she retired. Sharon was a very happy person who was full of life. She enjoyed anything that involved spending time with family and friends. She was a very loving mother, grandmother, Godmother and a true friend to many. She was famously known for her love of going on cruises. She had a sweet, loving spirit and will truly be missed by all. Sharon departed this life, Friday, April 12, 2024.

We all loved Ella, but God loved her best. Ella was proceeded in death by her husband, Charlie Anderson, daughter, Roseland Brown, siblings, grandchildren and cousins. She leaves to cherish her memory her three children, Almeda Brown, Gloria Sanford and Ivan Sanford; seven stepchildren; grandchildren; great grandchildren and two loving dogs.

Obituary Preview: Ellen Louise Hickmon was born in Toledo, Texas to Elmo and Irma Hazel Warren Hickmon. Ellen accepted Christ at Mount Olive Baptist Church where she faithfully served along with her family until she graduated from Wiergate High School (Burkeville High School) located in Wiergate, Texas in May of 1968. During her school years she worked at a local Bed & Breakfast Café after school. Upon graduation she relocated to San Antonio, Texas where she lived with her sister, Alene. Ellen continued her education attending Robert B. Green Medical School of Nursing and obtained her license as an LVN. Ellen entered the workforce in her new career working for Baptist Memorial Hospital. She later moved back to her community of Shankleville, Texas, with her parents and younger siblings. Ellen began working for Beauregard Memorial Hospital in DeRidder, Louisiana in 1972. She was a dedicated employee for over forty years. Ellen represented the hospital in events for the “Lions Club”, parades and was often a judge in completing health examinations for the Beauregard Healthy Baby Contest. Ellen was a great asset to the hospital and in her community. She later retired and moved back to San Antonio, Texas in 2011 due to her declining health. Louise owned and operated "Affordable Limo Service" and was a long-time member of "Norris Memorial COGIC in DeRidder, Louisiana, where she assisted in the sponsoring of the youth trips every year. She was a strong and hard-working person, always there for her family when needed and was an inspiration to anyone she met. Ellen Louise Hickmon was proceeded in death by her parents, Elmo and Irma Hazel Warren Hickmon; brothers, Joe Hickmon, Jimmy Dale Hickmon and Thomas Wayne Hickmon; sisters, Francis Dee Nix and Bobbie Jean Hickmon. She is survived by her daughter, Sonya Elaine Hickmon, of San Antonio, Texas; two grandchildren, Ja'Santae Hickmon and Addison Hickmon of Lake Charles, Louisiana; sisters, Joelene Hickmon McBride, Ella Mae Hickmon Rambo, San Antonio, Texas, Irma Lee (Charles), DeRidder, Louisiana, Alene (Mary) and Monroe Ford, Irving, Texas, and a multitude of nieces, nephews and many close cousins.

From a young age, Henry honed various trade skills, initially working as a carpenter in his hometown. In pursuit of broader opportunities, Henry secured full-time employment as an auto mechanic at Ford Motor Co. However, his career trajectory took a different turn when he was drafted into the Army in 1951. Following his honorable discharge, Henry returned to civilian life and resumed his passion for carpentry. He furthered his expertise by delving into electrical and plumbing work, eventually obtaining certification as a heating and air conditioning technician. Throughout his life, Henry remained dedicated to manual labor, finding fulfillment in working with his hands. This dedication led him to a new endeavor as a taxi driver for StarCab, where he eventually retired after years of service. Henry Wilson will be remembered for his resilience, work ethic, and unwavering commitment to providing for his family. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work and determination that will continue to inspire those who knew him. He is survived by his loving family and cherished memories that will forever live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. Obituary Preview: Neal Alexander, Jr closed his book on this earth and started a new chapter in heaven on Monday, April 1st. Neal was born in San Antonio, Texas to Neal and Vina Mae Alexander on March 20, 1957. He attended San Antonio Public Schools and graduated from Highlands High School. Neal grew up on Crockett Street and maintained lifelong friendships with his childhood friends known as the Crockett Street Neighborhood Boys. Neal was able to use his natural gifts as a craftsman in a variety of jobs including facilities staff at the Candlewood Suites on Fort Sam Houston. He was an avid fisherman and an amateur motorcyclist. Most importantly, Neal loved his family and always made time to spend time with his children as well as his extended family of many nieces and nephews. Nicknamed “Bougar Red” by his grandmother because of skin color and red hair, Neal was a curious and creative child who loved hanging out with his brother James. He continued this compassion serving as a part-time caretaker as later in life James battled terminal cancer. Neal was a 7-year stroke survivor who adjusted well to its physical limitations and remained upbeat. Neal was preceded in death by his parents, brother and grandparents. Neal is survived by his daughter Sheneal Jefferson, grandchildren Aquiya Jefferson, Dantwan Phillips, DeAndra Jefferson and great grandchild Kehlanni Jefferson. He leaves to cherish his memory sisters Mary (Jerome), Ruth and Gale (Troy), uncle Michael (Bonnie), his lifelong companion Linda and a host of nieces, nephews as well as other extended family.

She still had a desire to further her education and went on to attend San Antonio Community College where she completed her degree in Business Machine. Barbara entered the workforce picking cotton, she babysat for senior citizens, worked in grocery stores stocking merchandise, cleaned floors and answering phones. Later, Barbara was employed for Bexar County Court House as a Clerk Typist and also a Nurse Aide for several nursing facilities. Barbara later retired due to a bad car accident. Despite all her trials and tribulations, being confined to a wheelchair, she did not let that define her. God gave her the strength to keep her mind on him and without a doubt God never gave up on her. Barbara was proceeded in death by her son, Henry Lyons, parents, Ephron Percy Lyons and Ester Mae Taylor Lyons, two brothers, Wilbert Lyons and Finley Lyons. She leaves to cherish her memory her son, James E. Williams (Lekisha Williams); sister, Dixie Lyons; grandson, Michael; cousins, Cynthia Lyons, Linda and a host of niece’s nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Tyler enjoyed sports such as basketball and especially football. During his middle and high school years Tyler played football. Tyler had a deep love for music and would often listen and dance to his own rhythm. He had a smile that would brighten up the room and most would describe him as being goofy. He always left everyone with laughter weather they were friends, family or strangers. More than anything Tylers biggest love and joy was his son, Tristian “TJ”. Tristian inherited the name “TJ” from his Dad, who was also called “TJ” as a child. Tyler was proceeded in death by biological mother, Yolanda Neal, adoptive parents, Rev. Willie J. Demming and Debra Demming, his grandmother, Reba Jackson (Adolph), grandfather, Leroy Neal, great grandparents and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He leaves to cherish his memories his son, Tristian James Demming; brother, Cherray Clifton; two grandmothers, Cheryl Nance and Faye Younger; Lynyonne Miller; Kasondra Million and a host of other family and friends.

Keisha, as she was called by many, lived in San Antonio all of her life. She graduated from Judson High School in 2006. She attended St. Philip's College and then went on to attend Baylor University. She graduated with two degrees in Interior Design and Interior Merchandising from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas. Keisha worked for years at CVS, delighting her customers and co-workers with dedication and friendliness. Keisha served as a Caregiver at Tender Loving Care for the last five years. She used her creativity to help young leaners thrive. It has been said that she could potty train any child. Keisha met the love of her life, Dadrian Williams in 2018 and they were joined in marriage on April 11, 2019. Together, they have two beautiful baby girls, Journee Dabri and Jayla Kaye Williams.

Kenny promoted love and truth in his ministries wherever he would go. He had a big heart for the less fortunate, as he would take his shirt off his back, give his last dollar and share his shelter for those who needed it. Kenny had good knowledge of the bible often reading and sharing knowledge and forwarding posts on his Facebook page. He taught his children to know who God is and he Loved God with all his heart. Kenny was a Musical Genius ever since he was a child. His talent would shine with his musical voice. He loved to sing, play the keyboard and make music. When Kenny was on stage, he would capture your heart with his musical voice and in the studio, he enjoyed long hours of music with his friends. Along the way Kenny had a desire to serve his country, joining the United States Army dedicating his service. He was very talented in basketball and football. Overall, Kenny was on a journey to serve God, to be a better man. He had a desire to come back to San Antonio to prove his accomplishments from Detroit. Kenny is survived by his mother, Brenda Simpson; father, Dr. Keir Amadei Bey; current wife, Sarah Willhelm; children, Naomi, Azalea, Noah, Kayla and Zara; first wife, Marie Guzman; children, Elias Booker and Isaiah Booker; brother, Keir Simpson, Jr.; sister, Ke’Andra Simpson; grandmother, Juanita Garcia- Salinas; grandmother, Margaret Simpson and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.
