Mr. Leondro Vines - June 22, 1968 - December 11, 2023

Departed: 12/11/2023 (Newport News)
Obituary Preview: Mr. Leondro Vines answered the call of the Lord and went home to join Him on Monday, December 11, 2023, after a lengthy health battle.
Leondro was born on June 22, 1968, in Hampton, VA to his father Leander Vines and his mother, the late Vivian Vines. He fought a tough and valiant battle and now he rests in eternal peace.
Leondro attended Newsome Park Elementary School, Huntington Middle School, and graduated from Warwick High School, class of “86”. He grew up in the neighborhood of Newsome Park where he was surrounded by his loving family and dear friends. After graduating high school, he moved to the Richmond area to pursue his interests of working in the fashion industry and creating art.  On the journey to fulfilling his dreams, he moved to Washington DC, and later to Maryland where he continued to accomplish his goals.
He had many interests. Traveling, drawing, painting and cooking were some of his favorite pastimes. He worked hard to accomplish his goal of owning a home, which he achieved in the summer of 1998.  This was a proud moment, not only for him, but for his entire family and close network of friends. Upon buying his home, his family and friends traveled to his home to help him celebrate that special event.
Leondro was a hard worker who thoroughly enjoyed the fruits of his labor. He worked hard and played hard and never settled for mediocre. Aspiring to always do better was ingrained in him. As soon as he accomplished one goal, he would immediately set another. With this mindset, he was able to achieve a lot in his limited time on this earth. Although he worked hard, he loved his family and frequently made time for them. He especially enjoyed spending time with his nephew Lamar Vines and his niece Tianna Vines. One of his greatest loves was his mother, Vivian Vines. He adored her and could definitely be considered a momma’s boy. There was nothing he would not do for her and no matter how busy he was, he always took time to visit her and make sure she had everything she needed. Leondro was truly loved and was an inspiration to all who knew him. We are so thankful that he was in our lives, if only for a short period of time. He will truly be missed, but he will live in our hearts forever!
He leaves behind his father, Leander Vines (Pamela), brothers Derrick Vines and Shaun Branch (Takeya) and sister Tameka Woodley (Kwan); Aunts Hattie Leonard, JoAnne Sutton, Doris Blizzard, Sheila Bailey, Helen  DeLoatch, and Margarite Staten; Uncle, Jimmy Johnson, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Annette was a phenomenal woman, and was often praised for her helpfulness in all aspects of others’ lives.  Many sought her friendship, often just needing a listening and loving ear.  Her family was invaluable to her, and she made sure to be present for family events, never missing a family reunion, baby shower, wedding or baptism.  Consistently reaching out to her relatives, she always expressed her love for them.  In addition to being a loving friend and sister, she was an exceptional cook, known for her hospitality in both the North Orange New Jersey and Newport News South Congregations.
