Phillip Maurice "MOOCH" Goens - June 19, 1972 - February 09, 2024

Departed: 02/09/2024 (Hamilton)
Obituary Preview: Phillip Maurice (Mooch) Goens was born June 19, 1972 in Hamilton, Ohio. He was the son of Thelma Goens and Phillip Murph; he built a son and father bond with Darrel Brown, who raised him throughout his childhood into adulthood. He attended Harrison Elementary School and graduated from Hamilton High School. Mooch was raised in Payne church throughout his life. During his early childhood he loved playing sports; especially football, break dancing and tumbling. Mooch had a witty sense of humor.  Sometimes you wouldn’t know if he was joking or serious, he was very unpredictable. He knew exactly what to say or do to make you smile. Mooch was raised by his grandmother Ethel, so he would always be around his mother’s siblings. Him and Cardale were only a few years apart so they were almost like brothers, but they all were close enough to consider each other siblings. There’s nothing he would rather do than to care for his mother and family. He was big on family and would go above and beyond. The bond he shared with each person was genuine but the bond with his mother was different. He’s always been a mama’s boy and loved his mom dearly.
Mooch loved to ride around on his bike listening to music. Music was a way for him to express himself and you could hear him coming from a mile away. If you seen Mooch you heard music. Phillip will be reunited into eternal life with his grandparents Ethel & George Goens, his mother Thelma Goens and son De’Vontay Goens-Cooks, his Uncles Ronald Brown, George and Mark Goens.
Phillip Goens leaves to cherish his parents Phillip Murph and Darrel Brown; his children Katesa Gilbert, Ebony Goens, Ashley Goens, Te’Aira Goens and Shanae Goens. His siblings Maria Goens, Bridgette Wright, Rondell Brooks, Phil Murph; his Special friend Nikki Cooks, his Best friend Torriano McCullough. His beautiful grandkids AJ, Mason, Amiya, Abdul, Jabbar and Amir. He also leave a host of nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends. Phillip (Mooch) Goens will truly be missed.
Visitation is from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, on  Saturday, February 24, 2024, at the Walker Funeral Home - Butler County, 532 S. Second Street, Hamilton  (45011).   The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 11:00 am.
